Spur The restaurant

I was very disappointed today with spur of Bagatelle Mauritius. They spoiled

the birthday of my son. Booked for 11 peoples they forget it. Had to wait. The table was plain for a kid birthday. Wait for main course 30 mins then announced to us their is no more steak. Then everything was so slow that most of us was full before the foods come . TOOK A SEAFOOD PLATER WITH ONLY 3 TINY PRAWNS and some calamari and a small piece of fish as the plate was full of onion rings.

Paying a huge bill when no one was happy.

Thanks Spur for making my son sad as we came to Spur to ear a good steak.

The manager should inform us before we start order that they do not have Steaks.

Will never go there again. And recommend people be very careful. Asked if they have the steak before start order anything.

Spur Bad service

hi, i am complaining about the bad service i got at spur lakeside mall,the lady had the of undermining me and my family ,she even accused me of working at spur when i told her i will be using my spur family card and this is not the first time its an issue when i want to use my family store card,y do i have this card if i can not use it and all of this happend yesterday while i was celebrating my birthday

Spur Silver Dollar Spur - GrandWest

My friend and I went to retrieve a voucher that we bought from WikiDeals. The fine print in the coucher says to call in advance and make a booking, which we did about 2 weeks prior to going there. The lady on the other side of the phone said that a booking was not necessary, we just need to have a printed copy of the voucher when we show up.

We got there and the manager, Brian, refused to serve us and sent us out invalidating the fact that we had called prior to showing up and making it seem like we were telling lies. The restaurant would not have lost anything in serving us. The voucher was paid for and therefore we were not there for free meals.

We felt very dierespected for our money and we will not likely go back there ever again.

Desired outcome: To be able to use voucher at another store, not GrandWest. Or get a refund.

Spur Spur

I received a call yesterday and it was From spur but she didn't introduce herself just sounded like a telemarketer. Anyway, I didn't acknowledge I was on the phone cause my proplapse and rushed to the vet. And today I ring spir and get this man who just spoke to me now. He we questioned me like a copper, why didn't you answer the phone. I said my dog was proposing and he went silent and judgement and didn't believe me but kept questioning me I told your not a copper. Mind your mouth. Stop argueing and 1uwstioning me I just you the truth now do your job. I am Aboriginal so you best pull him aside because he treated me disrespecfully. Christian atkins is my name. Party is to find the Man I'm complaining about.

Desired outcome: Tell him to listen and say yes sir when he answered not act like a cop. He has zero authority.

Spur I didn't receive like it was advertised

Hi there I just want to know I took my children to spur in melkbos... The 2 got a voucher by spur They took my number and they told me the birthday voucher is for 2 so I said ok and I order 2 more coz I had my 4 children so I paid that cash but only the 2 got the ice cream wen they did sing for them happy bday and they didn't receive a party packet or so and the other 2 I order cash on the menu didn't even get a ice cream so can u plz tell me wht am I missing? Arnt the other 2 also suppose to get ice cream? And the lucky packet cn u help me plz?

Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response and if. I'm right a refund or collect what I didn't receive for my kids

Spur Burgundy spur cape town

Good Day,

I was at Spur Burgundy in Cape Town, and have to bring a few points to your attention.

Firstly I understand that deliveries and take away are the new way to go and a big part of business, during and after Covid,

BUT when I get my family into a car and drive to your restaurant on a cold evening, and have to wait for meals as the attention is focused on deliveries that’s an issue.

The in store Noise, and it was busy, from drivers and scooter drivers was unacceptable.

The lack of attention to seated customers is noticeable. Not only our table, but staff where to busy dealing with collections to see to the people that made an effort to come out.

When the meal did arrive it was cold, and 1 of the meals, chicken schnitzel came 15 minutes after the other 3 meals.

They took the cold food away, brought the chicken and then we waited for our meals. Hence we ate our meals at different intervals.

Not a good experience. When the manager came to the table I explained my concerns and he said that due to the deliveries and collections he was busy.

Surely in house guests who, make the effort to come in, should be dealt with better.

I am 58 yrs old and have been going to Spur for as long as I remember.

My now 24year old son was a member of your tribe for all his childhood, and enjoyed the atmosphere and attention.

It was a fun outing, and attention to detail was amazing. Colouring in with crayons, hats, fun and laughter with the staff and interaction.

Sadly this has changed, and my now twin 16 year old girls do not get that same vibe.

It’s as dull as eating at a Wimpy.

What happened to the “Good old Spur”, that was recognised for its good food, great atmosphere and enthusiastic staff.

In today’s times eating out is expensive and not as frequent, due to many people struggling after and During Covid, but these times are changing.

Things are looking up, and I know food outlets took a BIG hit and struggled to keep doors open, but please Bring back that enjoyable experience, we have all come to love going to SPUR.

Spur Total service form start to end

Good day, yesterday 9th June 2022, was my Mom's 70th birthday so they planned a lunch for her and went to your Eagle Peak Spur in New Castle KZN.

They arrived at 12:30 were they where greeted taken to there table where there were said twice that its her 70th birthday today and they are celebrating it. There were no response or joy from the waiter given not even a happy birthday mam.

So after a couple of minutes they were asked for the drinks order they ordered 3 drinks and already also a bottle of Aldebracht white wine. The drinks was served but still not the wine yet. Glasses that was provided at that moment for two biers and one soft drink was not clean but they did not complain and left it there.

There food order was then taken but yet no wine was brought. After a while there food was served and the wine was asked for again. My parents and friends stared there food and the food was cold chips was cold meats where cold the rock plates the steaks came on was even cold. Now at the time my parents was there, there where only 4 tables in the whole restaurant that needed attention and needed to be served. SO WHY WAS THERE FOOD COLD?

My mother had a steak and asked it to be medium to rare it was raw as soon as she cut the meat it was blood oozing out of the meat. She had the Cheese Prawn sauce so imagine having raw steak with fishiness a total put of. There was ribs is was ice cold no heat like it was made for a cold meat platter. The other steak was also cold and not to the requirements.

My parents and friends tried to eat as my mom did not want to make a seen because of her special day. They had to ask for the wine again effectually they brought it with 3 wine glasses. The glasses was wet and still had water in the base of it which was pored out in to one of the other empty glasses BY MY stepdad my Stepdad then took the wine and pored the 3 glasses but then when they cheers and wanted to take a sip my mom noticed straight away they where still dirty in side and also smelled of egg how disgusting will this be you have Aldebracht wine in a egg smelled glass disgusting. My mom did not drink a sip of wine as she was put off for the second time in what she actually looked forward to do for the whole week is celebrating her 70th with friends.

My mom didn't eat then as well further as she struggled to get raw meat in and everything was just not up to standard. and also the rest they all had to ask for Doggy bags as the food the service and cutlery was disgusting to say the least.

Right then they asked for the bill what a mess they where charge R43 per bier for a dumpy SERIOUSLY THATS ALMOST 2 BIERS at a Liqueur Store so that was fixed on the bill and also they where not charged for the right bottle of wine and was over charged on that as well.

My parents decided enough is enough don't fix the bill with the wine as well just leave it but the manager was told that they where very unhappy with the service there food the cutlery and so on and all she said was sorry she will give then a voucher when they come next time. THERE WILL NOT BE A NEXT time I am so appalled by the service they received the food the state that the cutlery was in not to even to talk about the personal connection which there was non of in a simple manner of respect to wish her happy birthday and brining her her SPARKLE she looked forward to with a bowl of ice cream.

I AM DISGUSSED IN THE FACT THAT SUCH A BIG SPUR ONLY NEEDED TO SERVE 4 TABLES GAVE THIS MUST ATTENTION TO DETAIL. A SPUR THIS BIG NOT EVEN UNDER PRESURE THAT CANT EVEN PROVIDE HOT MEALS. A SPUR THIS BIG NOT EVEN ABLE TO HAVE ONLY 3 WINE GLASSES DRIED AND CLEANED WITH PROPER CLEAN WATER OR FOR THAT MATTER TAKEN OF THE SHELVE IT HAD TO BE WASHED FIRST.

And GOD forbid that any of the waiters or manager could have just been more excited to elderly coming to celebrate a 70th birthday at there SPUR.

As far as my knowledge goes all spur's should give the same service same style of food hot and eatable, cutlery that is cleaned properly and sufficient quantity clean quantity and does need to be washed for 3 customers if there was only 4 tables to be served. training on the code needed to book the drink from the Bar area should be given properly a not of that says bier lets use that code o there is wine lets use that one it said white wine so that's okay. NO No No the branch EAGLE PEAK New Castle KZN can be closed no wonder only 4 table where vacant at lunch hour.

As far as my parents and there friend they will never support that Franchise branch ever. The till slip was kept by them because of the fix of the Bier price so I am submitting the Merchant slip from Bank Portal.

Spur Rotten full spatchcock chicken

I bought Full Spatchcock Chicken at Southgate mall and My God it was smelling terrible : (at first I thought nah its not that until when I got home and my Fam also attested to it. I am very disappointed because I have always been a fan of Spur food and this really saddened and pissed me too. we had to eat bread and chips only for supper due to this outcome. I am not happy at all!

Spur You don't get what is advertised on the menu according to my understanding.

On Saturday 07th May, i was taken out for Mothers Day to the Wykato Spur in Beacon Bay in East London. Wonderful, we ordered our food and when it arrived i did not receive what i ordered. In my mind if the menu reads as follows: Ribs, Combos and Grills are served with Spur-style crispy onion rings "and" chips OR baked potato OR hot veg OR a side salad. Okay so this would lead me to believe that spur offers 2 sides, onion rings and the interchangeable chips... am i right? WRONG! i got a tiny steak which i doubt was that actual weight it was supposed to be, and a veg. When i complained to "Faith" the manager, she told me that is how its always been done (shock of horror - always been done!) i was told if i wanted anything else i would have to pay extra. Totally disgusted. I have photographs of the menu, the spur and wording on the menu. Just think i paid R166.90 for a cheesy garlic prawn steak that was undersize in my opinion and a little veg...Happy Mothers day South Africa. If you feel like getting ripped off and there is zero accountability from the staff. Spur is the place you will find exactly that.

Desired outcome: I would like an apology and a free meal to the same value, with the proper portion side and correct side dishes served.

Spur Incorrect food and bqd service

Good day.

Its been almost a month since this incident however no feedback was received from Spur.

We orderded 2 steak dinners on the MrD app however received a half eaten Burgen, cold stake, incorrect source and damage packaging

No substitute was provided after initial complaint and food was unsafe to eat. Which left us to spend more money and order form q different restaurants

Spur Bad management

The manager is a waiter and the waiter is standing in front busy on her phone I asked for a manager because I wanted 20 people for sit down lunch the waiter said she is going to call the manager but I had to wait because she was taking orders and then she was about to come to the front but then 2 more customers arrives and she walked so fast to approach them and asked them if their gonna sot down and ask them to come through and never makes an effort to pay attention to her priorities I'm also a manager and I feel it's not right what she was doing I feel that a manager is supposed to do her duties and not the waiters job cause that waiter was just standing there wow so unprofessional

I have bought 3 x rip and wings at Spur Secunda on the 15 March 2022, 19h00 pm, but my wings all of them they where taste rotten I'm very disappointed my number is [protected]

Spur Horrible food

Good morning..

We went to Spur Liberty Promenade Mitchell's Plain Cape Town. Service was horrible. Food was horrible. Pictures available. Kiddies chicken and chips. Chicken was raw was send back and upon return still raw.. There was no fries at the Restaurant and they had to go get fries. We waited long for out meals. Fries looks like MacDs. Onions was burned.

Spur Ribs

I ordered 2 rib combos, kids burger, nachos and that new drinks u guys have with sprite different flavors, 1st I had to clean my own glasses, Manager passed us when she was checking her table, waiter took his own sweet time to check on us, order waffle n I was told it's closed now n we can't have but mind u the are still tables in the shop, not 2 or 3 like lots of table in the shop, so for me am sorry that is not how Spur treat their customers,

Spur Wi fi

Kindly note that the spur restaurant at Wesend in Nelspruit wi fi is not working always.I have complained severally to the staff including to managers but seemingly they are not prepared to resolve the matter.I hope you will assist us as loyal customers so that they get an efficient Wi Fi as a matter of urgency.Even today is not working

Spur Injury

my name is Christinah I have a problem I am writing this letter asking for a help.
On the 20/03/2021 me and my family went to Spur Vanderbijlpark, on our arrival just after entering Spur, I twisted my left ankle on the stairs which are going downward inside Spur.
After undergoing X-Ray at Naledi Inkanyezi Hospital, it was revealed that I have an displaced fracture on the 5th metatarsal and therefore have to undergo a surgery.
The surgery was done a week later at Mediclinic (Vereeniging).
The manager of spur told me to go to hospital then they will take it from there.
After a months I wrote a letter to them asking why they haven't call me or ask how I am, they said to me they were waiting for me to call back to them .
Now the case was referred to brokers for a claim .
The guy who was talking to me about my case he told me to send all the document and why I think spur in responsible for my injury I explained to him.
He didn't even bother to call me back or let me know what is happening .i called again to find out because I have to remove the screw then he said to me the insurance won't pay because I don't have a strong case and he said I must think again and send email .now I can see this guy is not going to help me .
His name is Piet, now I want a second opinion because now I don't know what to do.my medical won't pay for removal of the screw .he said to me start over and send email again because your case is not strong insurance they won't pay

Spur Spur ribs and garden salad

I'm Joana Ngele from Bethal, we Bought 2 x 400g ribs one with a garden salad. The ribs are dry and tasteless, for the very first time both me and my husband could not finish we resorted on making bread. Spur Complaint about food

Good Day,

My Spur card number is [protected]

I went to the Spur in Rooihuis Kraal the Ridge Spur I was absolutely disgusted the way my food was, I had the fish and calamari combo my husband had the pork ribs firstly his ribs was not cooked well and my fish was crumbed not battered it tasted horrible the calamari was not fried properly and not crispy the food was not appetising.

you guys used to make the best food but no more I am a very disappointed and unhappy client and will not be supporting you guys anymore. I complained to the manager and all he said they did inform head office that a lot of people are complaining about the fish and calamari and that's it. And then he goes to the back to the kitchen and ask who made the food and shouted them we could hear him while still sitting at our table. He did not even compensate us or anything, really I was not happy with the food it was horrible the fish wasn't even cooked properly inside it did not taste nice I am very disappointed really,
