Good afternoon
I am writing as a highly disgruntled and disappointed customer of SPAR.
The Black Friday Supersized Savings pamphlet, which I received in my post box on Thursday, 13 November 2025, clearly advertises various savings deals valid from 14–16 November 2025. This implies that the advertised items would be available on the shelves from opening time on 14 November.
I visited the store on Friday, 14 November at around 13:00, only to be informed that the stock had not yet been delivered. When I returned today (15 Nov 2025) at roughly the same time, 99% of these advertised specials were already sold out. The only item I was able to purchase was four 1.5L Coca-Cola bottles for R56.00.
This is extremely disappointing and, in my view, amounts to false advertising. Such practices create frustration and erode trust. I am certain that many customers feel just as disgruntled, and this experience may cause SPAR to lose loyal shoppers.
I have always held SPAR at Townsend St, Glenwood 7460 (which is close to my home) in high regard, but after this experience, I will need to think long and hard before choosing to shop there again.
I would appreciate clarification on how such a situation was allowed to occur, and what measures will be taken to prevent this from happening in future.
Kind regards
Retha
Desired outcome: Supplying all the specials on the pamphlet at the same price as on the pamphlet dating from 14 - 16 November 2025.
