I recently made a big order from Dutch Expat Shop and was pretty excited to receive it. However, when I opened the package, I noticed that one item was missing. I had specifically requested that there be no substitutions if an item was unavailable, but they still sent me a larger cheese that was slightly older than what I had ordered. I needed two younger cheeses - one for my cheeseboard and the other as a gift - so this was a bit of a problem.

The emails all started with "Hi Hans" as if we knew each other for years, but the customer service person remained anonymous. No name at all.

Oh, and they don't publish a phone number on their site. Undoubtedly, they're afraid of too many complaints. All big companies publish their phone numbers, but not Dutch Expat Shop. That says enough, I think. They're probably afraid of being on the phone all day.
