Spa World Not accepting their own Groupons

Several friends and I had Groupons purchased for use at Spa World, also called the Korean Spa, outside of Washinton, DC. In total, we had paid over $300 for the Groupons. Their promotional value had expired, but Groupons still retain their $300+ purchased value. We wanted to use the Groupons for spa services, but the manager told us they could only be used for entry. When we showed the manager the physical, printed out Groupons, and pointed out that this limitation was not printed anywhere, he said it didn't matter. When we showed him the language on the Groupon that referred to booking spa services and their spa services tipping policy, he pretended not to understand English. When we asked for a phone number to talk to a supervisor, he lied and gave a false number. We pulled out our phones and called the number on the spot. He didn't even care that he was caught in a lie. We were so disgusted that we gave our Groupons away to some young ladies and left. I'd never go back.

While I appreciate that Matthew from Spa World did take time to respond, all he did was copy and paste boilerplate text about some of Spa World's general policies. The boilerplate text did not even come close to addressing my complaint. It's as if Matthew never even read my complaint. And this is the exact same problem that I had in the first place. Spa World simply cheats its customers with Groupons and then acts as if they can't read English when they are asked to address those problems. It's hard to know if "Matthew" actually doesn't understand English or is just hiding behind this excuse so as not to address customers concerns.

This is so true- they refuse to refer you to the manager when issue arises. I was there when ac was out, wanted to speak so the manager and they were putting me on hold. Faked like they were calling the supervisor... complain to BBB.. you have to report them- they have no manager on site and misinforming customers about various matters.

My name is Matthew, I'm a manager at Spa World I would like to comment back on your complaint as to what you have stated above. The coupons that Spa World advertises through Groupon have a certain amount of time to be used which is the (Promotional Value). If that value is to expire the amount paid never expires, with that being said on every voucher on the right hand side of the voucher is stated " Value of the Groupon Voucher". This voucher has two separate values: (a) the amount paid; and (b) the promotional value. The amount paid will never expire and may be applied toward any goods or services offered by the merchant if the original goods or services specified on the voucher are no longer available. The promotional value is the additional value beyond the amount paid, and it will expire on the expiration date above (unless prohibited by law).
