Southern California Edison [SCE] review: My electric bill
I enrolled in the AMP program because my old house was not energy efficient and was causing me to use way more electricity than normal. fast forward moving into an energy efficient house & they do a satellite search and see i have solar panels, I explain solar panels are for the pool not house they don t care, cancel my AMP program, now i have a $2000 electric bill, try to pay it, not going down, get a disconnection notice, now trying to come up with the 20% which is $765, make a payment of $550, call in they say oh well that payment isn't towards the actual payment arrangement so you need to pay another 20% which is now $653 in two days. Make a payment towards that amount, pay $400 towards it. Go back on the account see if I can maybe make a new arrangement or push the payment date. Nope now it wants anoo0ther 20% which is $580, so let me understand, I pay $550, still want $653, I pay another $400, and want another $580? So, they system is so rigged you will turn someone's electric off if they don't magically come up with $1800 to $1900 in days. How in the heck do you expect someone to figure it out, you give them two days to come up with 20% which is always $500-$800 and that's a lot of money for someone already living paycheck to paycheck. Doesn't matter how much someone calculates and budgets, we still will not have enough. And on top of it, I have had a customer service rep tell me to get over it because my bill is so high maybe i should pay it instead of being upset, they can't help me. How is that okay,
Claimed loss: I have now paid $1300; I had to take out a loan and borrow money just to pray you won't turn my electricity off. I had to choose between paying my rent or paying my electric bill.
Desired outcome: I want this to be fixed! You expect them to come up with large amounts of money on the spot. doesn't matter if they already paid you want more. Then if there electric does get turned off you want us to pay $2000 to turn it back on.
