I was contacted and asked if I wanted to continue my membership, I said no and gave adequate reason and the lady told me nicely that she would handle that for me so I naturally assumed that is the last I would hear of that.
A few months later I realise that money is still being taken out of my account. I try and ring up the gym (to no avail [as usual]) then finally contact them and tell them the problem, only then do they tell me that I need to contact them in writing to cancel my membership. Then, the next week money is still being taken out of my account, I ring up and ask why to be told there is a 30 day cancellation charge? I'm not even sure the name of the charge it is so outrageous, basically they keep taking money off you for 30 days once your membership is canceled. When I tell the lady that I think she is running a bad business she proceeds to slam the phone in my ear, I ring up again so I can explain why I am so frustrated and she rants about something rather and ends up hanging up on me again. Then she turns her phone off.

    Usually they charge me $30.00, this month I got charged $49.95. I will not only contest this but post it all over the net, and yelp. I called my bank says they'll fight the charges if they don't remove it.

    I cutrently attend snap fitness bundaberg in australia
    And i have not once had good customer service from nathan the manager and something NEEDS to be done about his rude, crude and disrespectful attitude against his clients because it is NOT just myself he is rude too!
    I don't want to leave the gym because its great but i cant keep putting up with this crap

    I am upset to find out that my daughters membership at tuggerah DOESN'T give her any of the membership entitlements, like discounts at certain shops, and she DOESN'T have access to the gym 24/7 as they advertise, EVEN THOUGH WE PAY SAME PRICE AS EVERYONE ELSE WITH 24/7 access, she is required to only go when staff is there...
    Problem is, doesn't get staffed till 10 and they leave at 7, so my daughter can only attend 3 hours a day, on top of that Sunday is no staff day so can't go there at all on Sunday.
    Emailed head office 3 times and never got reply until I threatened them with fair trading for MIS ADVERTISEMENT as it does not state anywhere on website or business that age restrictions apply to entry and to gain discounts..
    Asked if they could introduce school kids rate, as they are at school, most of the staffed hours.
    After head office does nothing they send you to owner who pretty much tells u that's just the way it is, they don't have school kids prices or hours, so if someone over 18 becomes member she can go in with them, but that requires another membership, FUNNY THAT MORE MONEY FOR U, I weigh 50 kgs so gym not needed, why do I require membership, why can't any child be accompanied by adult if the child is the member...
    Very unhappy with service and think for parents out there, it's just another obstacle, to keep your kids healthy, it's bloody ridiculous
    Now I'm requesting they cancel immediately but want a months worth of fees to get out, after I have paid all this money for limited access, they will get nothing more but a court case

    HEAD OFFICE / MANAGER IGNORANCE, STEREOTYPING

    HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD PROBLEMS WITH STRATHPINE SNAP ? MANAGER OR JUST GYM ISSUES IN GENERAL ? A GOOD MATE OF ALONG WITH SEVERAL OTHERS HAD CONSITENTLY REPORTED ( FAULTY EQUIPMENT ) THAT SHOULD BE WORKING - RESPONSE WAS... YEAH I KNOW WE WILL GET IT FIXED ?? PFFFFFF?? SO A FEW DAYS AGO MY MATE WAS DOING A DUMBELL EXERCISE WHERE THE ADJUSTABLE BENCH PIVOT WAS STILL NOT FIXED AND IT SLIPT AND HE JERKED/TWINGED A LOWER DISC MUSCLE IN HIS BACK .

    MANAGER AND HEAD OFFICE ( YES HEAD OFFICE ) HAVE FAILED TO TAKE ANY INVOLVEMENT WITH IT AND THAT ITSELF SAYS WHAT A PATHETIC BUISNESS THIS IS AND STAFF THAT GOES WITH IT, AFTER SEEING PICS OF THE BLONDE MANAGER AT THE CLUB SHE SHOULDNT BE ACTING SO GOOD SHE IS PRETTY FUGLY

    I WANT TO BUILD ENOUGH COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE GYM AND THE COMPANY TO PRESENT TO A CURRENT AFFAIR, SO THEN MAYBE AFTER NATIONAL HUMILIATION THEY MAY GET IT THROUGH THEIR HEADS

    I joined snap fitness at Victoria Point and they told me I would get 3 free personal trainer lessons and have been going there for 3 months and they said they would get in touch with me, still waiting.I also spoke to a personal trainer and told her my problem and she told me to get her card from the front desk and text or ring her so I did several days later but got her voice mail and am still waiting for a reply

    I had the same problem at strathpine snap fitness. 6Months after, in writting i cancelled my membership i was still having money taken out of my account! I rang to sort out the problem, i spoke to the manager, he asked if i would like to use up the credit over the next 6months. i told him i couldnt as i was expecting my second child and was having alot of sickness. he said he could put a note on my account so that 6-8 months after i had my baby i could come back if i decided. OK that was fine i thought. 8 months later i rang to say that it wasnt possible as i would have no one to watch bub while i went and was wondering if they could just give me the money back intstead. WELL they told me that was too long ago and that manager no longer worked there and they had no record of any of this!! Very annoyed and im not sure what to do its nearly $200 they owe me. but im going to keep at it. this should never have happened.

    I agree with you. I just cancelled my membership at New Farm. Very bad service. My original membership was at Chermside and without my permission, they transferred my membership at New Farm, without informing me, just disabled my swipe card. When i decided to cancel, it took me 2 emails, 2 phone calls and sms-es to finally get back to me after 3 days. Even after one month cancellation, they still took my money yesterday. I called the manager, emailed to him and no reply. Sent sms and he said he'll get back when he gets the chance. These manager and instructors spend hours in the gym training with his friends and use up the space and that is the main reason they work there, just to use the facilities so they can buff up and look good. Arrogant and useless when it comes to customer care. I will report to Office of Fair Trading soon.
