I visited the store to pick up a birthday card. When I was ready to pay there were only self checkouts available. I do NOT use self check out for a variety of reasons and I know many others who also do not - mostly on principle. We live in a small city which does not have a wealth of jobs.
I walked to where I saw a clerk go behind the till but when I approached she left. I asked an employee on the floor if there was a till open. She motioned to the till I had just left where there were now customers with the clerk who was ringing in a variety of items for them. I waited in line and after 2 customers were finished purchasing miscellaneous items, I approached. She rudely told me to go to self check out that she wasn't waiting on me because she was photos.?
I went back to the other till and a clerk appeared and told me to go to self checkout. I told her no. She walked to self checkout and rang it in for me.
I asked to speak to the manager who was not friendly! He said the company doesn't care. I said ok I thought you would want to know there was no clerk available for quite awhile. He said I was the problem. "People like you are the problem!" The company doesn't care if you don't like self checkouts. I said, "No I think you are the problem" and I left the store.
I do not care for this treatment. This is the third time in a row that I have not been happy with the service at this store. I am quite capable of shopping online but I like to support businesses in my community. But not if I am going to be treated in this manner, that my business is not important and that I as a customer, am the problem.
Yours sincerely.,
