Very Disappointing Experience with Sharaf DG – BurJuman
I recently purchased a laptop display unit from Sharaf DG BurJuman, Unfortunately, the payment was processed through a different card than intended. I immediately requested the store to cancel the invoice and re-invoice the purchase using the correct payment method. I was advised to return the next day to cancel and re-invoice the purchase.
When I returned, I was told that the additional discounted amount of AED 100 could not be maintained and that I had to pay an additional AED 100 simply to adjust the invoice. This was extremely disappointing, as the issue was related to the payment method and not a change in my purchase.
The handling of the situation by the cash counter staff was not so professional and left me with a very poor customer experience. I hope Sharaf DG management reviews this incident and improves its approach to such payment and re-invoicing issues.
That is frustrating. A payment method change should not cost you extra. Here is what you can do: go back to the BurJuman store and ask to speak directly to the store manager, not the cash counter staff. Explain that you are not asking for a new discount, just the original price with a different card. If the manager refuses, email Sharaf DG corporate with a copy of your invoice and a simple request to adjust the payment without penalty. Also, mention that you will dispute the charge with your bank if they insist on the extra AED 100. You are being reasonable, so do not back down.
