Disappointing Experience with SendMyBag: Delayed Delivery, Hidden Fees, and Damaged Suitcase
When I first heard about SendMyBag, I was really excited about the prospect of being able to send my suitcase of personal clothing from the UK to Vietnam without a hassle. I had heard some mixed reviews about the company, but I decided to give it a try anyways.
In January 2020, I decided to send my 15 kg suitcase of personal clothing to Vietnam using SendMyBag. Initially, things seemed to be going smoothly. My bag was picked up from my home in the UK and I was given a tracking number to follow its progress. However, things quickly went downhill from there.
When it arrived at customs in Vietnam, I received an email from DHL Express telling me I needed to provide additional documents in order for my suitcase to be cleared. This was not mentioned anywhere on the SendMyBag website, so I felt frustrated and unsure of what to do next. I spent a lot of time emailing back and forth with both DHL Express and SendMyBag in order to get the necessary information and clear my suitcase through customs.
Unfortunately, it took two weeks for my suitcase to finally arrive in Vietnam, and when it did, it was damaged. The suitcase had been ripped and covered in DHL adhesive tape. I was really disappointed by this, especially since I had paid additional fees to ensure the safe transfer of my belongings. When I contacted SendMyBag about the damage, they told me that I wouldn't be able to receive any insurance compensation, which was really frustrating.
To make matters worse, I couldn't even post a review about my experience on the SendMyBag website. When I logged into their site, I realized that all of the reviews appeared to be fake.
In conclusion, my experience with SendMyBag was quite disappointing. While I appreciate the company's concept of making international shipping easier for people, there were too many issues that arose during the process that left me frustrated and unhappy with their service.
