I had my windshield replaced by Safelite January 28, 2021. At that time, the technician came out to my home and replaced the windshield. He at that time, glued the molding on the driver's side.
In January of this year, I had a chip that needed to be filled. That was also done by Safelite.
I now have a crack that requires the entire windshield to be replaced. Because of the molding they claim they cannot locate and cannot repair. When I mentioned their technician glued it, Brittany told me that because the windshield had a chip filled, it negated the warranty and they were not responsible for locating the molding and would not do the work unless I located the molding. I find it very convenient that the warranty is suddenly negated by work THEY did. I am not happy.
Claimed loss: I now have to go to another windshield replacement shop because Safelite refused to honor their warranty.
Desired outcome: I should be reimbursed for the windshield as Safelite refuses to locate the molding which two other shops assured me they could get.
