Rite Aid review: Pharmacist rude and unhelpful

I was prescribed the wrong medication and dosage schedule by the ER doctor a week ago. It was supposed to be Macrobid 100 mg taken twice a day. I was prescribed Macrodantin, which is taken 4 times a day. The pharmacist SHOULD have caught the discrepancy because the dosage was wrong for Macrodantin. I discovered the error myself 6 days into taking a ten-day supply. I called the pharmacist earlier today to explain the situation and she told me to call the prescribing doctor. I then called ER and the doctor called in the correct prescription, Macrobid. I have a bacteria that is resistant, and this makes the situation even worse now. I called the pharmacist back to ask a question about the Macrobid and to see if I could get the name brand. I know they are busy, but she seemed impatient and rude. I told her that the new RX the ER doc called in does not say generic for Macrobid and the image does not match the previous marcobid pills I took before. She argued and insisted it was Macrobid, and kept asking me where I was seeing it and am I sure it is not the previous bottle I am looking at. Duh. I am not an idiot. I told her several times where I was seeing the NEW prescription info. She acted defensive and said how would she prove it to me. I was like, what? There is no need to be rude to a customer like that. She was part of the problem and issue for not seeing the discrepancy with the original RX and dosing schedule. It should have raised a red flag. She said I would have to come in and look at the bottle to see what it says. I said I am looking at it right now on the payment link. It does not say generic for Macrobid. I asked to get the name brand to be safe and she said they did not have it. I said where can I get it? After being put on hold, she said she can try, but there are no guarantees and I would have to wait until Monday. Having no other option, I agreed. A little bit later, I decided to go pick-up the generic that she said was Macrobid to use until I could get the name brand on Monday. I rushed over before they closed at 6PM and got there ten minutes before closing. They had already CLOSED THE PHARMACY WINDOWS. I went to the pick-up window and there were two people there. The pharmacist and the assistant I assume. I explained the situation and asked if I could get the generic until the name brand came in. The assistant said no. She said they cancelled the generic to order the name brand, so I would have to wait until Monday. That is two more days creating a resistant bacteria with the wrong med/dosage. They were only concerned with closing up and going home. They did not care. They continued doing what they were doing instead of actually coming to the window and speaking to me directly. It was rude, unprofessional, and uncaring. I understood what they were saying, but I was just looking for a solution in the meantime. They offered no possible solutions at all as they scurried around closing up, not even looking at me most of the time. I asked if I could get two days supply of the generic until the name brand came in. "No," I could not. Okay. I stood there trying to figure something out since I was not getting any help from them. The assistant actually told me I had only 7 minutes to decide what I wanted to do! Wow. All they cared about was closing and leaving. I explained I was just trying to come up with a solution and wasn't sure what to do. I explained the bacteria I have is known for being anti-biotic resistant, so I'm just trying to fix the mistake that was made and not have to deal with that. They did not care and I said so. I said, "Wow, nobody cares." The pharmacist then, RUDELY began berating me. "You called me three times!" As if "shame on you!" I called because the doctor and the pharmacy had made a mistake and I was trying to rectify it myself. I saw that the pharmacist's rudeness and anger was escalating and inwardly-disgusted with their attitude and treatment, I walked away and left the store. I will be transferring my RXs to another company and pharmacy and will never use Rite Aid pharmacy again.

Desired outcome: More professional, caring, compassionate, diligent, observant pharmacists. Better customer care training perhaps.
