Real Property Management Colorado This compamy should be closed immediately for unethical business practices

This compamy should be closed immediately for unethical business practices. Moved out months ago, now get a letter demanding $1300 dollars for repairs, AFTER THEY KEPT A 3000 DEPOSIT. This is after they BROKE THE LEASE AGREEMENT MANY TIMES BY NOT HAVING HOUSES UP LEGAL CODE & FORCING US TO MOVE HOUSES BECAUSE THE PREVIOUS PROPERTY RENTED TO US WASNT UP TO CODE EITHER. The details of this case are many and beyond ridiculous. Stole our deposit now trying to ruin my credit, HELP THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEFS. I HAVE NUMBERS OF PLUMBERS USED WILLING TO,GIVE STATEMENTS, EMAILS BEGGING FOR REPAIRS TO NO AVAIL, AND A 3RD PARTY LANDLORD/OWNER WHO REPEATEDLY BROKE LEASE BY CONTACTING US AND SNOWING UP TO HOUSE WITH NO 24 HOUR NOTICE.

This management company kept me on the lease after the end of the lease term. My roommate wanted to stay in the residence and was told that he needed to sign a new lease to stay. While he was the one that had responsibility to sign a new lease, the management company did not inform us that we were still liable for the damages after I had put in my notice to vacate. This was an unbelievably shady business practice. After a few months thinking we were no longer liable for the premises, I got an email saying we were late on our rent and haven't paid in several months. I tried to explain that I haven't lived there for 8 months but they said I am still equally liable for the lease. I then convinced my roommate to leave the house because he obviously was going to destroy the house and not pay his bills. We went through the correct channels for putting in notice to vacate and setting up a walkthrough for security deposit refund. I expected to get almost no money back because the house was pretty much trashed. I emailed the agent doing the walkthrough throughout the process and everything seemed relatively normal. I sent him an address to forward a bill or portion of the security deposit back to. I emailed the same agent 60 days later after not hearing anything about it asking if there was a check in the mail or if there was a bill that needed to be remedied. I have email proof of all of this communication. I did not receive a response from this agent or any other representative of the company. I figured that it was no big deal because if they don't send a bill, they forfeit their right to withhold the security deposit and we can collect 3 times the security deposit if they take us to court. A year later we all found out that we had a collections account opened from the management company. The amount was for over $4000, $2500 for the damages and the rest for the collections fees. I called and asked if this was accurate and the management company said they sent several bills to the address that we were renting from them and not the forwarding address I sent them. I then talked to a lawyer to understand my rights. He said that since they waited for over a year to start any type of collections, the statute of limitations forfeited my right to sue them for 3 times the security deposit. I hired the same lawyer when the property owner sent me a summons for a civil lawsuit for the amount of $8000. I finally reached a settlement with the owner of the property outside of court and I emailed the management company to remove the collections account from my credit. I called the collections company a week later and they hadn't received any documentation to support removing the account from my credit report. This is the last straw. I have had it with this management company. If they would have sent the bill to the correct address in the first place, I would have paid it within a week. Now it is affecting my credit and my ability to sign another lease for several years. I sent the information required directly to the collections company and I am eagerly awaiting a response. I have also submitted disputes with each of the credit bureaus.
