Receptionist attitude
Please don't hire Malaysians. They are just stupid and irresponsible.
Make wrong appointment date and when I reached there not even a single sorry. I paid more than $4000 doing braces and this is the customer service I got. Such a shame.
Dental service
Quite some time ago, I went for root canal treatment because of some decay in my lower tooth. According to the dentist, he said that the nerve roots under the affected tooth will be removed, and he will replaced it with a fake one. After an hour plus of treatment, he had a temporary replacement tooth done. the actual replacement would have to wait for a few days. I was advised not to bite too hard on the tooth in the meantime.
Low and behold, before I reach back home, the tooth broke into a few pieces. I haven't even started eating yet, and all I had was water. I had to return the next day informing the same dentist that my tooth had broke.
I was charged for another temporary replacement.
Finally the actual replacement arrived and I had completed the root canal treatment.
I took extra effort to take care of my teeth since then. I flossed every night before bed and brush my teeth before I sleep and after I wake up. I would gargle after any meal.
Low and behold, a few months later decay started to form from the very same teeth that I had root canal treatment on. Is this even possible? Wasn't my nerves around that area removed?
The best part is, I can't seem to find any decay myself while looking in a mirror (yes, I check the back of my teeth as well). It would seem as though the decay is coming from under the replacement tooth. Does this mean that the previous dentist did not clean the area properly before filling it up?
I am 100% sure I did a good job taking care of my teeth over the years. And since there was no visible decay, I could only assume the pain is coming from underneath.
Or could it be possible that my nerves grew back?
Nonetheless, I was overcharged for the service. My bill totaled to over 2k for a simple toothache. If this was a mistake on the dentist part, fine, no proof how to own up? However, if this was some sick trick to get your patients back so you get more money, please stop.
I am not asking for any compensation since it was my fault for not taking care of my own teeth at the start, and I do not know much about dentistry to point fingers, so please excuse my passive aggressive tone.
Did anyone else faced such a situation? Or perhaps anyone can recommend how to improve how I take care of my teeth?
Thanks in advance!

Post RCT
I have started my RCT on 28/6/20 at Woodlands Q and M branch and finished everything including crowning on August 2020, but still I had pain and everyweek I was consulting my doctor for my pain and she was just doing crown adjustments, I went about 4-5 times, final time she referred me to a specialist at City square Mall branch. At there they have removed my crown and done temporary but still I had pain, sametime the doctor told me the filling in between the RCT and near tooth came out and he done filling and charged for that. Afterthat they told me to took my wisdom tooth as it was decayed. I removed that but still pain was there. Yesterday (23/10/20) I visted them the doctor told they have doubt that tooth got crack /not and finally I have to extracted that RCT tooth.
For RCT - around 2000 sgd
For filling at specalist center-110 sgd
For wisdom tooth extarction-250 sgd
I paid this much amount but atlast no use, I lost my tooth,
How can I complain for a compensation? Kindly help me

Dental overcharge of 2 molar tooth removal (total bill $1114.80)
I am extracted 2 of my molar tooth and the dental clinic has overcharged me with total bill $1114.80.
First, when I asked the dentist how much is the cost of the removal of my molar teeth, dr sathy tries not to tell me the full amount but only telling me it could deduct using my medisave. After my emphasis to know the price, then he told me after that.
In the end, I am being charged for s1114.80 for complicated surgery of both removals of my molar tooth that finished within an hour.

Professionalism and bad customer service
Went for annual dental check up washing and polishing at Q and M dental clinoc in Punggol. It was the worst decision made ever. The dentist did a bad job in cleaning i felt very bad pain during the process. It was not the first time cleaning and polishing. After that appointment it my teeth and gums became super sensitive and i felt pain. Cannot eat and bite. Went back and report on my issue the dentist is unapologetic and insist that nothing is wrong.
Went off and called back the clinic requesting for a more experienced dentist yet the counter male staff still joke about it and laughing when i made that request.
I would never go back to Q and M dental anymore. Charges are overpriced as well.
Please choose other dental clinic over Q and M dental group

overcharged extraction service
I went to this Q&M Dental Surgery at 17/7 to check on my tooth as I'm having severe pain. I though it would be just a filling service needed. However, the dentist Dr Joey Chen Chien Jou informed me that I must do an extraction of it rather than filling only. I though most dentist suppose to help clients to remain their teeth and try filling as much as possible. In fact, by just looking at the X-ray alone, he determined that my tooth must be either removed or root canal without even showing me how serious was the condition on the actual tooth itself.
Therefore, I have no choice but to follow the order to do extraction on affected tooth as the root canal is far more expensive which cost more than S$600.
I had checked with the dentist on the actual cost involved for extraction before it even begin. He told me that the cost will be S$100 for extraction and S$80 for X-ray. I had also checked with him whether its possible to claim by using MediSave. He told me that it can only be claim by using MediSave if going for surgery. I was just asking whether its possible, not to proceed on using MediSave. Without asking whether I agreed on using MediSave or not, he already requested the nurse to inform the receptionist to input the claim with MediSave.
At first, he begin by injecting anesthetic to me for total 3 times, I can barely even felt my mouth after that. When the extraction start, he tried to pull out the affected tooth as hard as he can, but somehow he accidentally broke the tooth into pieces. Then he told me to go for another X-ray as the teeth had broken. After that, he continue to remove the left over parts of the tooth.
I thought the entire process would consider a simple extraction only, but somehow after all had been done and go for the bills. I noticed that the receipt is showing with the amount of S$325 surgical procedure instead of the agreed cost of S$100 for extraction only.
All the time I thought the extraction will be S$100 only then proceed with it.
I was not being told that there will be a surgery involved during the entire process.
What I was being informed during the extraction process was the dentist going to use some equipment to drill the bone or so to extract the remaining tooth pieces.
Upon checking with the dentist, he stated that the drilling process was already considered a surgical procedure hence the cost will be S$325, but I was never being informed that it was a surgical process.
If I know it will be that expensive, I would never go for it. I wonder what if the patient is only prepared for S$100, but end up being charged way much higher. And when I think back, it seems like he is purposely doing that surgery so that it is claimable by MediSave. Was this consider a scam?
The whole extraction process is only around 15 min long to remove my tooth. There was no sewing process or any type of surgery which I aware of.
It was only drilling the tooth which seems to be a normal extraction process just like any other dental will do.
I had complaint to the dentist that I was only being informed of the extraction cost of S$100 and not aware of such so call surgery which cost S$325 being initiated.
He seems to push the blame back to me that it is due to my tooth that break out of sudden when he is pulling too hard brutally. I don't get it why it had become my fault when it is him that not professional enough to even do a normal extraction. And due to this failure of extraction, he is forcing this so call surgery on me without even notifying. I had never faced such dentist before who push the blame to the patient and charge more just because he can't perform well on a simple task.
And come to think of it, if my tooth was really that bad, will it be so difficult to extract out? Did he even justify wrongly at the first place? My tooth could had been fix just by filling, but he insisted to remove it or performing root canal to earn more money.
Now, not only my tooth is forcefully remove, I had to pay extra because of someone else mistakes. This doesn't sound right at all.
I would like to request for a refund on the extra charges being applied which is S$225. The agreed charges advised by the dentist is only S$100 as witness by the nurse as well, but the actual charges applied was S$325 instead. And after sum up with other additional charges like x-ray, medicines, sterilization, and admin fee, it becomes a total of S$513 just for extraction of a single tooth (not even a wisdom tooth).
I had cross checked with my colleagues who are local Singaporean and they had never even heard of such costly dental service before for removing a tooth.
If this is how Singapore dental works to scam people money, I would never ever consult any of the dental services here again.
I had seriously never spent more than $700 in a month, on dental services before. I am on Blue Chas, means my income is like crap, usually my previous dentist only made me pay $5 per tooth in extraction, and cleaning is free about that too, because we are under Blue Chas, Income low as hell.
If QM wants to remedy this report, kindly call me at [protected]
Same issue with me here, but my case was, the tooth was already so bad that the pain was unbearable, no amount of pain medication can help.
So I went there to get it extracted, I never know I had to pay for all the misc charges, because all the other dentists i went before, dont do such charges.
So a regular molar extraction ended up becoming a surgery extraction. All in all, i was charged $423 for that day, x ray, stitches all included. But to me it was still too much.
My wisdom tooth was once removed by my regular dentist, after taking an x ray, he determined that no surgery was required, and that wisdom tooth was counted as a regular extraction, which cost less than $100.
Next thing I would like to comment is, when I went back to QM for stitches removal, i let them clean my teeth, refilled 3 cavities, and guess my total bill? $323. The doctor did not asked if I wanted floride treatment, so when i went with it, I regretted, this flouride treatment cost $20, not the $5 that my regular dentist used to charge, I am under BLUE CHAS somemore.
Worst dental service I had
This is the worst dental service I had and I will never go back to this Q&M dental clinic anymore (I went to Pasir Ris White Sands Branch). I had the scaling and polishing service in this dental clinic on today 29-NOV-2016 with doc Ko. During the scaling and polishing process, his actions are not gentle at all and I will say RUDE. He was keep pulling and stretching my lips and my lips are injured after the service. Second, the service took around 15 minutes only whereas which I think he didn't clean in detailed enough. The most ridiculous part is when he said "Done", I looked at the mirror and found that my face has the white chemical powders all over my face and my shirts! They just look at me without doing anything until I asked the wet tissues from them to clean my face. I was so uncomfortable and asked why I have this white powders all over my face and the doctor replied this is the traditional way of dental scaling? I had the scaling services before but I never had this white chemical powders all over my face! Is this your SERVICE to let your customers to walked away with all the white chemical powders on faces and shirts? WTF? Lastly, their charges are not worth at all, S$107 with only 15 minutes scaling and polishing service where I can have more detailed are gentle cleaning + x-ray of teeth + detailed consultations with doctor + mouth wash products at only S$180 at Orchard. This is the very bad experience I had and definitely not recommend this!
Fees overcharged
I had visited an overseas dentist a couple of months ago and was told I have a couple of small decays. I mentioned this to Dr M Goh when I visited Q&M Dental Whitesands branch. I was charged $120 per filling and had to pay a total of close to $400 inclusive of GST. I was flabbergasted. There were no complex procedures and it took around 20 mins for 3 small fillings. The fee chart showed that a tooth colour filing cost around $70-$120. As mine is a simple and small one, why am I charged the highest rate? This is not right - overcharging a customer just because I don't have a local address despite being a citizen.
Dr Victoria of Q&M City Square Mall is the worst dentist. She didn't have the patience to explain things properly and is a rude doctor. She belittles and talks silly about her patients and is unfit to be part of Q&M City Square. Management should take note and advise her of appropriate actions.
Utterly bad customer service
I am deeply appalled and shocked at the bad customer service I was given at the Q&M clinic at Bukit Gombak MRT station. On 15 Aug 11, 5.30pm, I walked into the Q&M clinic located at Bukit Gombak MRT station, wanting to enquire about Invisalign braces as my friend is currently undergoing that treatment with Q&M. I approached this long-haired Chinese lady at the counter who was talking on the phone. When she saw me, she glanced up and continued her conversation, without even indicating if she was going to attend to me. I walked in wanting to be a potential customer and was rudely greeted by her horrible customer service. I walked out after 5 minutes because I do not know how long I have to wait for that lady's conversation to end. Her attitude was downright atrocious. Thanks to the bad experience I had, I will now do intensive research to see which dental clinic has favourable responses. Previously, I had wanted to undergo this treatment with Q&M.

I got a Invisalign package from Q&M dental, very unsatisfied in both customer service and the end result. Although appointment was made, every time I revisit, I have to wait for half an hour to an hour. The dentist / surgeon didn’t really listen to my needs, my teeth are not fully straightened, the midline are off and not aesthetically nice looking at the end of the package. The price isn’t cheap, should have gotten the treatment from an orthodontist. Waste of time and money! I NEVER HAD SENSITIVE TEETH FOR MY WHOLE LIFE, I COULD BITE ON ICE-CREAM WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM.. BUT ONE OF MY FRONT TEETH GOT REALLY PAINFUL AND SENSITIVE DURING THE TREATMENT. AT THE END OF THE TREATMENT I WOULD STILL HAVE SENSITIVITY FOR THAT TEETH. The surgeon simply tell me use toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Wtf! I seriously regret my decision. I felt like that teeth are with black tint, it really worried me. Hopefully my teeth won’t rot or turn black..
I am deeply appalled and disappointed at the poor customer service I experienced at the Q&M boon Keng clinic on 2nd June @ 11:30am coz the clerk double booked and the audacity to blame the doctor was ludicrous. I was there and witnessed the whole thing. The clerk had such a rude attitude indicating that it was not her fault even though the doctor actually called me which showed that she had double booked another appointment….
Went to Holland Village outlet (Dr Teo Yoke Teng) in March 2021 for routine scaling and polishing and was told I have severe tooth decay and need 7 fillings! I’ve only ever needed to have one filling done in my whole life and all of a sudden I need 7? I asked her to show me the decay and conveniently she said they were all located on the upper teeth so she couldn’t show me. Told her I would like to get a second opinion but she tried to hard-sell and scare me and said that I should do 4 fillings today so that I only need to pay consultation one more time to do the remaining 3 (as opposed to coming back to do it and having to pay a third consultation). Agreed to do one filling, and it was done so badly! When I floss that area the gap feels jagged and uneven and looks greyish after she did the filling. Went to another dentist for second opinion and she said my oral hygiene is VERY GOOD and no decay at all. Have heard this a second time during my next dental visit 6 months later.
Had a horrible visit in Pasir Ris White Sands. What I thought was a normal visit for scaling and polishing turns into an nightmare.
During the treatment, the Dr said that I have gum problems & suggest that I treat my wisdom tooth immediately as they are shown deep rooted in my nerves. He then proceed to arrange an X-ray for me.
Upon reviving the results, he said I have to go for an CT scan in Simei to have a clearer picture on which nerves is closest and he would check my CT scan to see if hes able to do that surgery for me. He told me to get it done ASAP as my wisdom tooth is decaying.
Of course, I was worried so I went Simei the next few days. CT scan costs me about $200 and when I’m done I called Pasir Ris branch to confirm my next appointment with doc. TO MY HORROR, the receptionist (different from the one who advise me to book CT scan) said “don’t need to come back, doc already said he cannot do surgery for you” I WAS SO PISSED. I went back to the Simei Branch and asked what was the miscommunication about.
If PSR branch have told me earlier that they can’t perform this surgery, I would’ve went to Simei and get it done WITHOUT the need of CT scan (scam much?) Long story short, the receptionist at the Simei branch was surprised and mad as well, she apologised for the miscomm & offered me to do my surgery the next day since I’m in a lot of pain.
The reason why I want to go back to psr is because of the cost, if I did it in Simei it will be abt 2400+ as its specialist surgeon, Psr branch will be about 1250+ for normal surgeon.
Anyway, I decided to ditch QM for good and went to other dental and finally had my wisdom removal painless & efficiently.
Till this date, QM still msg-Ed me to ask me to book appointment even tho their doctor can’t perform my surgery. My advise to them is to put themselves in check and Communicate with their patients.
I had an appointment with Q& M dental at whitesands Pasir Ris 19 April 2021 at 10am for scaling & polishing. After the scaling, the dentist told me " I have gum disease generally". So he offered an xray so I agreed. The xray results came out after 5 mins and the dentist discussed one tooth needs deep cleaning with injection, 5 teeth needs filling. He never discussed about aftercare and about gum disease. I went back home and my teeth non- stop bleeding. The whole night bleeding, spit with solid blood
Until second day non- stop bleeding.
I called their number and informed about my situation. The person who received my call said...
Eat ice cream, drink cold drinks, do not always gurgle, do not spit the.blood instead swallow it. I replied, i ate my dinner last night my breakfast and lunch today with the flavor of blood :(
Might at least gave me the aftercare or discuss with me the consequences of gum disease before i left the clinic.
I've been to other clinics for scaling and polishing but never experience this situation. How to treat non- stop bleeding?
Q & M, unprofessional service during my wisdom tooth removal at farrer park branch. My mouth is injured heavily due to the doctor rudeness, they (doctor and the nurse) even laugh during the surgery. Please be considerate as the patient is extremely anxious and nervous, try inspire patient and acts recklessly. This is my second times remove wisdom tooth in Q & M, the 1st doctor is patient and skillful but the 2nd time is worse and unprofessional. Currently im suffering from not just wisdom tooth pain but lip injured. Disappointed.
*correction: dun acts recklessly. I will try complaint in branch too.
THE MOST DISGUSTING DENTAL SERVICE IN SINGAPORE
I had gone to the Jalan Tiga Q & M on a recommendation on Facebook. I had a cavity on my tooth which I initially wanted to discuss and get it cleaned and probably filling.
As soon as I entered two Chinese ladies, one old and one young ( with specs) just quickly sat me down started to use their so called disposable tools on my tooth without even asking me what is the problem.
I had to stop her and explain my problem to which they without even getting any x ray, background information started pushing me to get root canal program done. I asked them what is the basis of your advise to which they immediately responded either you do root canal from us or go somwhere else or go back to your country and do.
The old lady who was acting like a doctor had no idea what she was talking about and kept telling me to clean, then told me to scale, then to fill and then minor cleaning for root canal. I told her why are you givinf me these options when you cannot tel me if this will reduce the pain. She said then u need to see a specialist. I was thinking what I was doing here all this while.
When I Told them am not comfortable with their advise, they irritatedly told me to them pay consultation fees which was 50$ with no medical chit / cert substantiating it.
I felt really cheated and will strongly advise not to visit these theives again.
Talking about bad experiences, mine is very bad too at the Marine Parade branch.
The dentist (indian, and cant recall his name) was rough during my extraction of my molar and found a big pc of chipped off of my wisdom tooth when I reached home.
It caused me a great deal of pain and I have to revisit, which I requested another dentist.
However, regardless of my complaint and photo showing the chipped off wisdom tooth, this new dentist only managed to filed off the sharp edge and prescribed additional pain killers and antibiotics.
No explanation of why this happened.
I was suffering and unable to eat solid food and it really spoilt my planned 10 days trip abroad, I had to look for antibiotics and pain killers while abroad.
When back to this dentist cause the pain with my wisdom tooth (I still can't chew) came back, this dentist put a metal band on my wisdom tooth ? Could it be due to the chipped off and caused another cracked, thus the continuous pain ?
No explanation whatsoever given.
I was charged for the additional x-ray and this procedure.
Now (although the pain subsided) the discomfort with my tongue friction against the metal band caused during chewing and drinking.
God knows if the pain will come back cause this band is only temporary.
My suspect is the original dentist made the mistake while extracting my molar.
I am not certain my suspicion is right coz nor of the dentist is giving me any satisfactory answers.
And imagine all the costs incurred.
Another thing I figured, is that these dentists don't own the clinic as they are mostly just attached so not so much obligation to the patient.
I won't have to write this if I had been given a full explanation but I want to share my ordeal with those been thru the same.
I have written about my ordeal to QnM and still waiting for their findings.
You shld go to sdc.com.sg to file the treatment against the dentist. If the treatment to you unexplain by the dentist. Of cause you must have the name of the dentist. When you file complaint to QnM will only have little helps. But when you compain to SDC Singaporr Dentist Council, it will have a big impact for the dentist.
I was in Toa Payoh branch. I made wrong decision to go there. I know a lot of dental clinic in Toa Payoh area. But, I don't know why I choose to go there. They took x-ray to all my tooth and giving some medicine. The cost was going up around $250. That's f** ridiculous and feel upset. And then, she told me to choice 3 different option. One is to take out my wisdom tooth. I don't think necessary to do that. I'm not causing serious problem and she can give me some antibiotics. Yes, definitely cheating people money.
your dentist in Pasir ris Fatimah Arshad is such an evil dentist. She is homewrecker evil woman . Do not trust her. An Immoral person will not do good any thing because evil is running her life. Dont trust her
