We were very excited to be the first to move into a new addition... Parkside at Finch Creek!
The building process was informative as this was the first home that we have built. The contractors are extremely lazy when it comes to cleanliness and leave trash everywhere throughout the home, despite Pulte's attempts to "charge them $100/day for trash left." I don't think there was ever any follow up on those signs as there was food, cans, cigarette packs, water bottles, etc. left in and around the home almost daily. However, after multiple complaints it got... better.
Fast forward to 5 months later and we have this awful smell permeating the 1st floor of the home. We put in multiple trouble tickets with Pulte, have them come out to figure out what the problem is, and 3 weeks later... we are still living in a home that smells like rotten eggs. We have done everything they have told us would "solve the problem" with no resolution. Every time we call now or put in another ticket, we get the same generic response with no solution. They seem very quick to push the problem back to you as soon as you sign your name. It's very obvious that they don't want to take accountability for issues in their home building process and want to say, "it's your home now, so it's your problem." Extremely unprofessional and disheartening to work with. For almost a month now, we have been unable to use the full bath and the bedroom on the first level and more days than not, are unable to use the living room due to the unpleasant odor that we are unable to identify if it is even healthy to be living in and Pulte has effectively told us that it is not a priority to them. Should any medical issues arise from anyone in my home, Pulte will be the first on my list to litigate.
Recommendation: Be aware, once you sign it is yours and they don't care to follow up. You will get generic responses at best, but it is no longer "their problem," it is yours from the moment you close.
