I ordered flowers to be sent to my aunt's funeral service in Florida. I went online and found what I thought was an FTD Florist. I ordered an arrangement and paid $82 by credit card. My parents flew down to the ceremony and came back 3 days later and said there were no flowers from me. I called the florist & left a message, that their answering service said would be returned within 24 hours. It was not. 2 days later I called again. Again, was forced to talk to answering service and again said they would call back. They did not.
I then called my credit card, Bank of America and they said they would refund my card, which they did and go after the florist themselves. I'm just so mad that if my parents had not gone to the service then I would never have known that my flowers were not delivered.
I was signing up for a McDonalds gift card and i had to sign up for two items to get the free gift card. When I checked my checking account they charged me $90.92 they said it was for delivering for the weight of the magazines, what a joke. Maybe McDonalds need to check into some of the offers that are offered to the consumer, because it also gives them a bad name. Cause if you have to order 90 dollars worth of magazines to get a free Mcdonalds meal that doesn't make any sense. If my money isn't refunded I will get me a lawyer and sue.
When their filtering system kept us completely off the internet, they would not answer the phone. Once, we spent 45 minutes on hold before hanging up. When I asked them by email from my office to cancel the account, they started asking for bank account information, passwords, etc. They told us we didn't have the filter installed correctly. They totally ignored the request to uninstall their filter from their end.
They totally ignored my request to uninstall & kept asking for passcodes, etc. I asked them EIGHT TIMES to cancel our account. Instead, they gave us info on upgrades, asked for information that THEY had sent TO US! Just a complete runaround!
When our bank changed everyone's card, a payment bounced, but they didn't tell us, & stopped our account. We were charged over $30 for a service that didn't work, AND kept us completely off the internet! They wouldn't even begin talking about a solution until we paid them.
Finally, they did send a program via email to my office account that would supposedly uninstall the program at home, even though they had been told we couldn't access the net. Problem: their filter had cut off our internet access! I contacted our provider, Century Tel, & they told us that we couldn't uninstall the program because a block had been put on our computer by 4safe. They had to remove it themselves!
All of this communication took 6 weeks. Just to cancel our account & get back online! After sucking $30+ out of us for a service we didn't get. Not to mention stress! *#@**&!
I noticed three different 'purchases' from my checking account for $19.95 each starting in August. When I tracked down a phone number to call Shopping Essentials they claimed I signed up with them when I subscribed to Classmates.com - I told them I never heard of them and had no idea what they were talking about. I got them to remove one charge, but they refused to remove the others because they said I signed up (which I absolutely did not) and they were incredibly rude. I am beyond furious - have contacted my bank to dispute the charges. I see they have many other victims as well.
I feel very violated that they got my check card number and just started charging away totally outside of my control. I have complained to Classmates.com as well and canceled my 3-month membership.
I recently signed up to view my bank statements online and while reviewing them i saw a charge that said ccbill.com. I went to the website and never used that company before. I called their 800 number to ask why and what I was being charged for. Today's date it October 31, 2008. When I called they asked me for all of my information so I gave it to them. They proceeded to tell me that my account has been being charged since October of 2005, a total of 95 monthly charges at 29.95
When i asked them to put the money back, they told me that they can only refund up to 60 days... so what happens to the rest of the $2845. All they had to say was sorry. I also questioned what website were these transactions processed through. Some one used and old check and signed up for 3d sex games with my account.
I guess my next bet is to have the bank fight it... if they do...
This company is swindling the consumer. Our family uses 5 phones, we were charged on 2 different phones in one month $9.99 each for this rip-off service! It was never ordered, never authorized, never wanted AND we are forced to pay it on our bill. The company refused to refund the money stating that it clearly stated a charge would be imposed if the service was used (via a txt message to my children, all they had to do was respond). My children remembered seeing the txt but didn't know what it was. This is ridiculous! I have put a block on our phones so that it won't happen again.
Someone, take this company out business, start a class action. Even if I get $.01 back, it would be better than having a company like this around. Scam.
I ordered the complete 7 seasons of West Wing from best-boxed-sets on August 19th. My credit card was charged on August 20th but I never received the dvds nor did I receive any replies to my inquiries. When I logged into my 'account' with best boxed sets, the order is shown as 'pending.' There is no phone number or other contact information available--and I only know the location is Salt Lake City from my credit card statement. The internet said best boxed sets.
I am a person with a severe disability. My disability leaves me without family and friends to speak of (or with). I sometimes don't hear my own voice for days. So, my TV is an absolute necessity to help maintain my sanity. Comcast has no regard for their low-income customers. And these customers probably make up a good portion of their customer base. I have Comcast's basic analog service at $56.95/month. I live on $650/month, and this cost of cable is a hardship, but again, a necessary one. Of course, I've had to consider limited basic and even antenna TV, but I could not live with the limited choice of channels. As it is, the number of channels worth watching on my basic cable service is shamefully few.
Cable TV should not be a 'luxury' when the alternatives are often not satisfactory. I did begin the process of switching to DirecTV, but canceled the installation when I was charged $149 for equipment before the installers were even due to arrive at my apartment. They should not charge for equipment when it isn't yet determined if I could receive a good signal at my location. I've since read way too many horror stories online about the poor business practices of the two satellite dish companies to risk monetary loss, poor installation, or poor service.
No other options such as FiOS or XOHM seem to be available in my area, not that I could afford those services either. So, as a monopoly would happily have it, I am stuck with Comcast, and their inconceivable prices which they plan to increase yet again.
Notice that if you take away the letters, 'c', 'o', and 't' from the word Comcast, what remains are the letters that make up the word 'scam'... Keep in mind that the definitions of 'scam' are: A fraudulent business scheme; a stratagem for gain; a swindle.
Comcast's business practices often fit that definition. Their 'scam' would seem to be cleverly disguised by adding three letters to their name.
Due to other companies taking ach debits without permission I requested Bank of America to close my account, they refused due to the account being in a negative. I then asked for a hold to be placed on account so no further ach debits could be processed. I was also told this was not possible.
After a month of ach debits i racked up almost $1500 in overdraft fees. The bank decided to transfer $950 from my other checking account to cover some of the outstanding fees, leaving me; a single mother of 3 young children totally broke with no money to pay rent, or put food on my table. I went to a branch where I explained the situation and a HOLD was put on my account within seconds. If this hold was put on the account a month earlier when I asked and was wrongly told it was not possible; none of these overdraft charges would have been adding up all that time.
I have made numerous phone calls, sent letters, emails, etc with absolutely no help in the matter. The only return call I got from the bank was to ask me when I planned on making a deposit to cover the remaining overdrafts? NEVER! I currently show a -$402 balance.
I would greatly appreciate any help anyone might be able to give in this situation.
This company continues to take money from my account. I did not sign up for this and I can't talk to anyone besides an online chat operator. I have copies of transcripts stating they will deactivate it but yet they continue to withdraw money. When asked to receive a refund the 'operator' states the so called terms and conditions I agreed to reads no refunds but I didn't sign up for this!
This company stole money from me. Beware people!
As others have written, this is really about ALL banks, I suppose. One Saturday I used my debit card for several small purchases. I had the funds to cover these purchases, and late that night the combined amounts of those purchases were evident from the balance.
On the following Monday, my mortgage company sent through an electronic debit that they were not supposed to. Instead of the mortgage payment overdrafting the account, they retroactively placed the Saturday transactions in front of the Monday transactions, causing $420 in overdraft charges, and I didn't have money to deposit to pay these charges, as we only had slightly more than the combined amount of these debits. what should have been a 35 dollar nsf fee became a $420 nsf fee. If this is legal, it should not be.
There is a video called 'maxed out', in which the fact that credit card companies and banks have become dependent on these and late and overcredit-limit fees for their profits. I am not an 'eat the rich' type, but it is in fact the poor and the poor-money-manager types that they prey upon. The well-to-do might not have even noticed such a problem. Am I the only one to whom this smells rancid?
I have been with Sprint, for many years, how many, well it was called Gencom Corp. then and they did not even have cell phone. I started in California and then in Washington State and then back to California from from [protected]. When I stared with them they were very good at there billing and taking care of their customers with the pager system that they had and then into the mobile phone business and then into the cell phone business in both California and in Washington State, BUT WHEN I RETURNED TO CA. now the story begins.
The first plan that I had was the best plan anyone could want, it had everything and the price was right and then in 2017 things started to go wrong, I started to look more closely at the billing and found charges for additional air time, games, e-mailing and all sorts of thing that I had not used or ordered, most of the time I got them to remove the charges, but sometimes they would not.
Now in the last two years there have been changes to my plan that were not asked for, plan extensions that were not asked for or ok'ed by me and at one point my 14 year old son was able to access my account and add minutes to his phone and change part of my plan... HOW YOU MIGHT ASK...
When he called the *2 and requested these changes, he was asked his name his name is the same as mine except I am the III and he is the IV and when he was asked the access code he gave them (FOUR) different codes, Non of them were the right ones so the person on the other end prompted him with information that gave him the code (not the smartness of my son but the Stupidity of the Sprint person.
Now the only way that I can get bad charges off my billing is to tell them that I am going to another cell phone company NEVER GO TO VERIZON, but if you want good service and fair billing and get what you pay for go to ATT.
Why do I keep Sprint? to many people have my phone number and it would take me a year or so to notify them all and that is the only reason.
Recently I ordered a Dell computer for one of my Belgian customers. Yesterday UPS delivered it to my home and I was excited to find out this new product. Once I opened the box, I saw that all software and documentation was in Dutch. My final customer is French. So I called Dell to find out why they send me a Dutch version. The answer was very simple, as I spoke Dutch on the phone, they decided to send me a pc with Dutch software. This might be very evident in most countries, in Belgium it is not. Almost every PC shop will always ask in what language a configuration needs to be done. The Dell agent did not ask anything and now is unwilling to understand that by acting so, he left out crucial information from the sale.
When I asked if they could tell me how to change the language of the OS and Office software, the only answer was: You will have to buy a new OS and Office software. By the way: the software would be more expansive than the entire system! The Dell account manager now wants to hide his own mistakes and does not deliver any support.
If you are not a big customer, you are nothing to Dell. Do not buy Dell, unless you can put dell under pressure as the big ones. Service or you lose your next order of 100 pc. With only one or a few sales, dell does not listen and treats their customers as dirt.
I was sold a used phone as a new phone. The salesperson told me this was against Verizon's policy and illegal. The salesperson himself admitted that the phone was defective. It doesn't ring when I received calls, dropped calls I made or happened to receive, and buzzed whenever I received an e-mail after it was set to mute. When I tried to get written assurance that the return would not count against my right to return the phone once within 30 days since I was only returning it because it was defective, the salesperson refused. When I asked to speak to the manager, the assistant manager on duty refused to come out and talk to me. They refused to provide anything in writing and said that they would only annotate the account and not print a copy for me. They told me to accept what they were willing to offer or just close the account and get over it. I took my illegal, defective phone home and called Verizon Wireless Customer Service, which was a lot more helpful.
Checking my mail after a long day at work I found an official looking letter from Afni, Inc with large bold print 'COLLECTION NOTICE'. My first reaction was to just scream, I don't have any past due debt! But then I tell myself 'let's be adult about this' so I attempted to figure out what this is all about. I spent 21 minutes on hold waiting to speak to a live person, finally gave up and turned to the internet!
The notice I received stated this is a debt owed to Quest, with a reported phone number that I haven't a clue where they came up with it, I have had the same phone number for a number of years and THIS IS NOT IT! There is no listed service dates or an address for service to this number.
I am tired of having to take my time, which is limited, to figure out what is behind all of the mail consumers receive nowadays. It is stressful, time consuming and half the time you never talk to a live person. I am frustrated that this type of thing should be allowed to happen. I will be reporting this to my local attorney general and postal service as well as Quest.
I thank all of you that have contacted this site to bring Afni, Inc to the consumers attention. What can we do as consumers? Just what you have done, help others to become aware and put these thieves out of business!
I Ordered furniture on a certain date and they did not have it when I went to pick it up today and didn't know when it would be in and wanted me to take something else. When I requested my money back they refused and even talked down to me and tried to belittle me. They wanted to give me an in store credit. Determined to get my money back and will never even buy a cushion from this company. I will tell 1000+ people not to patronize this company.
Presently, reporting incident to BBB, local TV stations, newspapers, and plan to even picket out front.
I have had problems with this company 2/08 it was hard working with them; they said just try our phone service; we will not charge you. I mailed them their jack back and got a tracking number from the us mail service; to prove it. but they did! after the phones didn't work, I ask them to stop the free try; it didn't work for me in my state using the chat. later they begin to random amounts of money off my credit card, I had to fill a complaint with my credit card company they would not give me back my money.
Now, today 10/31/08 they have don the same in again; using my credit card, I didn't know they keep credit card numbers; how can they do this? look at the numbers of months it has been. I am disable; now I have no money to pay my rent and lights, this how I found out I had no money to pay my rent when I got my ssi money I went to go pay my rent and no money. what do I do now? it was months last time to get my money back; its cold here in my state I do not have any more money until next month. I may not have a place to live; no money for rent. its the free try, that got me!
Other web business, should speak up; its companies like this that will make it bad for you as well.
There was a $19.95 charge from my checking account. The transaction was on October 31, at 8:45am., 2008. I have not even heard of this company until today, on my checking account statement.
I noticed a strange charge on my account and googled the merchant. Complaintsboard alerted me that others had been charged the same amount 11.89 on the same day as me. I hope these people are caught.
I tried to contact Juno Customer Services using Juno toll-free line. Was told Juno tech support would be charged at $1.95 per min.Juno was not able to help and said there would be no charge. Got switched to OAN and charged for 18 minutes, the length of time I was with Juno tech support @$2.76 per minute or $50.22. I disputed the charge by notifying Qwest and amt is to be removed. Have not heard from OAN.
I ordered something by credit card on express (2-4day) shipping, and It never came, but they charged my bank account, and I tried emailing their customer service (since they do not provide and phone number) but no one would respond. So not only do I not have my order, I lost money and can't get it back.
I ordered a backpack from downbound on 9/5/08. The money was taken out of my bank account three days later, yet the website still says that the order is still processing till this day, almost two months later. Do not buy from them, they don't answer their phone, and although they say that that will ship out the product due to the 'processing' problem, which was a month ago, there is still no progress or response from them since.
I just received a collection notice for an alleged phone bill from QWEST. This is a totally bogus collection attempt for a phone number from 7 years ago. I have read other such postings on this site. How can these people get by with this? I'll be checking my credit reports and if this is posted on them, will write to get it removed.
They sent me a e-mail to fill out more forms. When I put their web address in this site was in the search. Thanks for saving me a lot of time and worry. The worst part is they are not the only ones who are doing this.
