Planet Fitness review: Charge after closing account

I cancelled my membership and 2 days later they charged my account for the yearly maintenance fees. Max Hobbs said it was because I didn't give a week notice. When I went in person to cancel no one said anything about it. This is worse than dealing with a used car salesman. Being charged a maintenance fee for equipment I can use for another year is absolutely ridiculous. Sounds fair right!? When I asked for the higher ups they said contact corporate. When I called corporate they said each place is a franchise and billing is done with the franchise. So who's lying here?
