On November 20th of this year, we placed an order (quote #[protected]) for a bowed set of windows to replace an original installation. The value of the quote was $13,900. We were asked by our salesman (Jeff Tener) to make a 50% down payment and write a check for $6950. We wrote out a postdated check and instructed our salesman not to cash the check until November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving.
On Nov 28th i was reviewing my checking account and found that payment had been taken on Nov. 26th not the 28th as directed. Not only had they taken it early, they took twice the amount using a ACH transfer that I never authorized. They completely ignored the date and amount of the check and apparently used the routing and account number to create the ACH transfer. This transaction should never occurred and I believe it was done illegally and with fraud.
I contacted someone at the local Pella office and voiced my complaint they apologized for the error and told me I would receive a check for $6950 to recover the extra unauthorized amount taken. I also told them I wanted my original check returned to me as it was never cashed. They said they would but as of yet I haven't seen or heard anything.
I've tried calling the project coordinator and she hasn't returned my call. They have scheduled installation but I will no longer agree to installation until they do what they said they would do... Write a check for $6950 and return my uncashed check,
I have been a loyal Pella user having replaced all of my windows with your triple pane double hung wooden top of the line windows. But this issue has created doubt in my mind as to your business practices and I feel other prospective buyers of your products be advised "Buyer Beware".
