PayPal How PayPal froze my money without explanation – and why this should worry everyone

Introduction:
As a certified accountant, I deal with financial compliance, transparency, and risk management every day. Trust is at the core of what I do – and I expect the same from the platforms I use to manage and receive payments.

That’s why I was shocked when PayPal, a company trusted by millions, suspended my account without warning and froze my funds for 180 days after receiving a single legitimate payment for commissioned artwork.

What followed was a surreal journey:
No clear explanation for the suspension
A generic response from customer service
Advice to “just make a new PayPal account with a different email”
Even one response in Turkish, which I had to translate using AI tools to understand
I was not flagged for fraud, nor did I violate any policy I was made aware of. The decision was “final,” and my only option was to wait 6 months — with no guarantee I’d even get my money back.
This is not just a personal inconvenience. This is systemic.
A quick search shows thousands of similar cases — artists, freelancers, small business owners — all locked out of their own earnings, often without cause, recourse, or even basic courtesy.
If a financial platform can:
Freeze your money
Give no clear reason
Offer no appeal process
And recommend you start over under a new identity...
…what kind of compliance is that?
What kind of protection does that offer to honest users?

As a financial professional, I find this unacceptable.
If this is how PayPal treats professionals who rely on their service, I can only imagine how vulnerable users are being handled. I cannot in good conscience continue to recommend PayPal to clients or peers until they seriously address these practices.

I will be filing a complaint with the relevant financial authorities, and I urge others who’ve faced similar treatment to do the same. This is not just bad customer service — it borders on financial misconduct.

To PayPal: fix this. And fast.
This may be a misunderstanding. If so, I expect a prompt resolution. But the way your system currently operates creates damage — reputational, emotional, and financial — to the very people who trust you with their livelihood.

Recommendation: Be warned about this company

I am experiencing the same treatment from PP. The only difference is that I have not transferred $$ from my bank to PP. Someone or some entity must slap their hands.

PayPal If I could, I would rate this app a 0 out of 5

This is the first review I have ever left on any app. I have had a horrible experience with this company and I’m very disappointed with the customer service. Here is a list of problems that I have experienced while using this app and most of them have not been resolved.

Even though I have changed my number that is associated with my account, Paypal is still requesting my old number to verify my identity when trying to add my bank account.
Because of the problem above, I have been unable to add my bank account information which has prevented me from sending items to my customers and has put my business on hold.
I ordered a PayPal card and haven’t received it. When I click “I didn’t get my card” link, in the activate your card option, the link does not work for me. (This problem has been resolved because I received my PayPal card).
In my personal info it says that my billing address (which is my old address) is connected to my PayPal card, which I don’t understand because I added my new address. Because I have yet to receive my PayPal card and the link I mentioned above isn’t working, I am unable to remove/change my old billing address. (This problem has been resolved because I received my PayPal card and was able to change the address).
A friend bought an item from my store, which is connected to my PayPal. Because I cannot verify my bank account information through PayPal I can’t print a shipping label, and can’t ship my item, and therefore have to refund the money. On PayPal, I denied my friend’s payment and it hasn’t been returned and there isn’t an option to issue a refund. This is a problem because the money still isn’t in my account so If I send it back to her with another app, I’d be losing money but I need to give her her money back.
When I called the customer service number in hopes of help, and gave my account information, the automated agent says that she cannot find my account, which doesn’t make sense. I then get connected to some random person at some bank/company who is not directly connected to PayPal and cannot help me with my problem causing me to waste my time.
I have sent them two emails, one in the last few days and the other over a week ago and I have yet to receive a response.
Lastly, I decided that since there was so much wrong with my profile, but I still needed to use it because it’s connected to my depop where I sell clothes, I would delete my current account and make a new one. When I tried to delete my account it says I have to call a number. When I call that number the automated agent says that they can’t find my profile and once again I get connected to a random bank/company that can’t help me with my problems. So basically there is no way for me to escape this stressful situation I have experienced with PayPal.
In all, I feel like I have been stuck in a never ending loop where I am unable to solve any of my problems with this app. This has all been very frustrating and I am very disappointed in how PayPal has handled/helped me through these problems.

PayPal Confusing

I’m new to PayPal and didn’t realize I had two different accounts ( I had a account under two emails ) well I called to ask why didn’t I see my money received under what I thought was my only account and the lady on the other end of the phone ask me the same question so many times I finally had to tell her to please stop asking me the same question because you are confusing me . That’s after I finally suggested she check to see if maybe I had a account under a different email . For some reason PayPal system want Inform them a customer may have signed up with the same number but different emails . So after we got a understanding that my money was under my old email address she then told me I had to close one account, since my bank information was with the new email address I said close the old email address . She said she could not . ... I was like ok what do I do , to get my money because you can’t put the same account under two different emails . Now don’t forget she had ask me to perform the same task so many times I was kinda confused but she said I can just transfer my money from the account with no bank information to the one with the bank information. I thought that made sense so we went through the steps, well come to find out I didn’t transfer the money but instead I PAYED ( PayPal Fees ) to have money taken out my bank account and deposited into my PayPal account and luckily it didn’t put me in the Red ... but the part that really gets me is that the entire time I was doing that the PayPal associate was mirroring my account and never told me I made a mistake when she knew what I was suppose to be doing. The reason I think I made the mistake is because just like she kept asking me the same question overs and over , when doing a PayPal transaction the steps it take you through keep asking you the same question OVER and OVER and Over ! So by the time you get to the end of the process you don’t know what you just did ! ...NEW ISSUE ON GETTING MY REFUND From A merchant ( ridley-mall.club) I bought linen pants that I saw on Facebook that took two months to for me to receive and after receiving them they were messed size dramatically and now the merchant wants me to pay for shipping to return overseas to China when clearly they were mailed from New York...So to discourage me from Mailing back to China they are offering me $60 on $127 purchase which is crazy ! telling me to give the pants away that I paid $127 for but telling me to give the pants away ! Why can’t I get my 127.00 and give the pants away for them ! And PayPal is going back and forth with me about what I want to do when I have said from the beginning is all I want to do is GET MY Money BACK. All 127.00 and I will ship the pants back to the address from which they came from . So I’m to closing this account because if we ever start excepting half- refunds on online order we are Doomed ! And the Rich will really get richer ! I would rather go to a brick and mortar before I start excepting half my money back on online purchases

PayPal ‼️⚠️DANGER⚠️‼️MUST READ⚠️‼️

PayPal has officially decided that the customer is always wrong and is automatically guilty of anything that they can profit from. Usually, it’s on-line scammers that are the only one’s protected because PayPal gets their percentage cut from them, so they’ve redesigned their entire website to make it virtually impossible to get any valuable information or any assistance. It’s not possible to speak with anyone on the phone and messaging takes many hours for every chat response or question asked and then it’s never the same person responding and that person can’t read previous messages or even the one you sent. They’ll just make a nonsensical remark, give you false assurances and/or lie so they can go on to the next person, knowing that they won’t have to deal with you anymore, so now you get to start all over with another world-class award-winning customer dissatisfaction agent that can’t and wouldn’t read previous messages and so the perpetual cycle of frustration and anger begins until you finally wise up and just quit! The app isn’t intuitive and previous messages or responses are very rarely able to be viewed by you or anyone. If a seller literally sent you their own garbage, PalPal demands that the customer has to pay to ship it back to see if the seller will credit you back for the product ONLY, shipping charges are not refunded and prepaid return labels are not given, even if the shipping cost is more than double what the product originally cost to begin with! Who in their right or left mind would return the garbage to maybe get only half of their money back from someone who quite literally sent you their garbage and even confessed to doing so in writing, yet PayPal sides with the seller that commits fraudulent bait and switch techniques because they make their money from each transaction and they don’t want to bite the hand that feeds them, so they now instruct everyone to take the matter up with your lending institution, so it shields and protects their racketeering operation. It would not surprise me at all if the on-line scam sellers were actually PayPal employees because of how lucrative and easy such a system would be. They even save money by shipping out their garbage to you-genius level thinking, hmm, who could be that smart and rich from there‍♂️?!? Starting in December 2022 PayPal changed their policy to further protect themselves from customers by NEVER covering or requiring the cost of return shipping, even in blatant cases. Yet, they have the audacity to tout their so-called Buyers Protection Policy, which is false advertising in of itself! I spent almost 60 hours over almost 3 months learning this the hard way and have since found a mountain of evidence that this business practice is widespread and designed to merely string you along until you give up, shoot yourself in the head, go insane or die of old age whilst they’re laughing all of the way to the bank on Mars! I know that he doesn’t own it any more than he did, nor any less; that we know?! Evil genius level obese business model that’s ugly when exposed! !BEWARE!

PayPal Terrible automation puts funds in limbo

I used PayPal for several years, moving significant amounts of money through it, without issue. My account has a long history of legitimate transactions, as do my other financial accounts. I’ve never been implicated in fraud, I’ve never even been overdue. So don’t think my story is just something that happens to other people. This can happen to anybody, at any time.

I recently changed checking accounts. When I tried to remove my old account, the website said only “There was a problem.” I called into support, and they removed the account for me. I asked them specifically: I’ve heard many PayPal horror stories, are you completely certain that this won’t cause some system to lock my account? “Yes.”

When I tried to add my new account, the website said only “There was a problem.” I called into support, and they added it for me.

When I tried to withdraw my balance into my new account, the website said only “There was a problem.” I called into support, and they said my account had been automatically locked after the checking account switch. They said it would be lifted in 24 to 48 hours.

After 24 hours the hold had not lifted, so I called into support to check up and was told the hold would take at least 48 more hours to lift. I was told I could withdraw cash at Walmart, for a fee, in the meantime.

I went to Walmart and tried to withdraw cash. The app said only, “There was a problem.”

After 48 hours the hold had not lifted, so I called into support and was told I didn’t yet agree to a terms of service update. After I walked the agent through my account information, he realized this was untrue and told me it was a verification issue. After I submitted additional verification to no benefit, he told me a supervisor would call me back in half an hour, and an internal ticket had been created to review my account’s issues.

After 3 hours, I had gotten no call back, so I called support. I was put on hold for about 20 minutes, then spoke to a supervisor, who told me that it’s not a ToS issue, it’s not a verification issue, but there’s a temporary security hold on my account that will be lifted in 24 to 48 hours.

That was a day ago, so I’m waiting on that timeout and the internal ticket. I’ll update this review if they go anywhere, but really, what do you think the chances are?

Throughout the process I was told adamantly that customer service has no power to correct this issue. That this was the security system, not them, that they can’t control the security system. You may as well tell me it’s not you punching me, it’s your fist. When PayPal puts a wall between the people they’ll let you talk to and the people who can give your money back, effectively refusing to speak to you about the money they took from you, that’s intentional.

Update: I got my money. The timeout didn’t happen and the internal ticket didn’t go anywhere, however, I called in again, and was told that my account had progressed from locked in a way they can’t override to locked in a way they can. Maybe just timing ... maybe this review prompted some proper investigation. Rating changed from one to three stars.

PayPal Don’t use this company unless you enjoy getting scammed

Secure? Pffffft! I used PayPal for years without a problem. Then I got married and had to change my name. No matter what documents I submitted they would not change my name and therefore my account was constantly having verification issues.

I switched banks and took the opportunity to open a new account under my married name. Somehow they managed to mess that up too, by making my middle name show up as my last name. Once again constant verification problems because my bank uses my CORRECT first and last name and they would not and claimed they COULD NOT change my name to it’s correct form. Because of this name issue, the account could also not be verified with my drivers license and social security card because they too had my correct name on them.

To add insult to injury, I cancelled a subscription for which I was paying through PayPal in order to take advantage of PayPal’s supposed fraud and identity theft security, which I’d utilized successfully in the past. What I didn’t realize was that PayPal started outsourcing their customer service to a cheaper and inept company. They can’t help anyone. Oh, except of course for scammers. They help scammers steal your money and your identity. To get back to my example - I cancelled a subscription through a company that chose to continue charging me and recharging me over and over again. I was in a fight with the company over it but PayPal would neither block the company, nor deactivate my account when I requested it because there was always an action “pending.” Of course there was an action pending - the scammers were charging me over and over again! I couldn’t make any actions to rectify the situation except to my open a dispute. I did. PayPal asked a few stupid questions to ME - not them - and decided the company was ok for charging me. What in the actual hell? So then I wanted to permanently close my account and they said that even though I FINALLY convinced the company to stop charging me and there was no pending action, the dispute itself was an action pending, which disabled my ability to cancel my account. So my information was being held hostage because they REFUSED to cancel the dispute and the account. I had to wait for the dispute to settle they said. Even though they’d already found in favor of the scammers! So while my account sat there, HACKERS got in and started sending out payment requests to government workers in another state. My home state. So now it looks like I am doing this and I can go to court and possibly to jail! What did PayPal have to say about it? “Oh, that’s not good. Yeah. Sorry, we have to wait for the dispute to clear and then you can cancel your account from your side.”

Oh really PayPal? So, you have allowed me to be charged over and over again by TWO scammer companies (I only provided one story here, but there were actually two separate but identical situations) AND are allowing hackers in. Thanks so much. And eat poop. Eat it.

As soon as I can, I am deleting this account and going to other companies for these services. But I will make sure to wait and see other people’s opinions first and try to avoid any more of this ridiculousness.

PayPal Great to use as protection against fraud sellers

I’ve had PayPal since the year it was released.
I’ve had several un-shipped purchases resolved via PayPal on several occasions.
I’m not a spokesperson. I can only offer some advice on what I’ve learned over the years.
I will always recommend PayPal for any transactions.

Be sure to email the other party involved before you file a dispute. In fact, the more you send over time, the more smoothly your dispute will be resolved. If you don’t contact the other party, PayPal won’t help you. IF the other party doesn’t respond, PayPal is on your side.

It’s best to have verified tracking information that shows what has happened to your shipment. I try and get the seller to mark my packages “Signature Required upon Delivery”. The only problem I’ve had is with FedEx drivers who will sign for you when they just drop-off your package which will be missing (wrong address or stolen).

PayPal will only resolve problems when the items are shipped to your own verified address or if you ship items to a PayPal member’s verified address. Only PayPal members can have a PayPal verified address. Never make transactions via PayPal with a non-PayPal member (person or company). They will only resolve transaction problems made between PayPal members.

I’ve had a purchase dispute resolved when the item wasn’t even shipped. The seller’s refund payment was not available due to insufficient funds available in their bank for my refund. However, PayPal refunded my money.

I’ve transferred several hundreds of dollars at a time via PayPal to friends & family.
Money transfers are made only into a member’s verified bank account. The recipient must “accept the transfer” or else your funds are not delivered and may not be available to you.
Also, the funds may not be available for several days after receipt of a money transfer or after being deposited into you account.

I’ve used their credit services without problems.
I’ve even made cash deposits into my PayPal account via giving cash in PayPal approved stores (generally CVS). The only problem I’ve had is when the store screws-up.
Also, you cannot make any cash deposits over $500 at a time, more than once in a 24-hr period, or over the maximum dollar amount during a set period of time.

NEVER EVER USE OR ACCEPT CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS WITH PAYPAL.
I’ve learned this the hard way!
It’s safest to only accept payments based on customer’s available cash being held with PayPal or withdrawn directly from the customer’s bank account.
Credit card purchases via PayPal may not be resolved for some disputes. The card holder can dispute the transaction & you will be out the product and any funds you might receive. It’s the credit card company that will over-ride PayPal.
I got screwed on that one time. Not again, NO CREDIT CARDS.
If you pay with a credit card. Your refund goes back on the credit card, not into your bank account, or directly with PayPal.

Problems are frequent with several overseas sellers. Just understand that the currency fluctuations and the time needed to receive your purchase will drive you crazy. It some cases, PayPal cannot help. If it does, it may take a very long time. I’ve learned that the hard way.

PayPal I’m going to get too angry to use many more words than need be, but…

In Feb. 2021, PAYPAL implemented some fake news guideline or stipulation in their nonsense rules & fine print. This very piece of thoughtless nonsensical “Rules just look good, to have SO many of them in our website” brand of thinking, has now officially left me nearing & swaying back & forth, right around the Apex of $1,000 in Crypto. THIS ISSUE SHOULD HAVE BEEN VERRRRRY MUCHLY RESOLVED BACK IN AUGUST. But, instead….?

They’ve forced me to call AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK for these passed 90-ish days.

And, yes, as you’ve deduced by my tone of voice-wordings, they’ve of course NOT provided ANY assistance or answers. They now decided that whatever it was that was messed up, within their well too broad of scope nightmare structurized seemingly Monopoly on online world buying, selling, trading, bartering, farming, slave labor & endentured servitude rat race face garbage dump truck trolly track, WallyWorld Reality, THAT I WAS TO BE PERMANENTLY BANNED FROM EVER HAVING A PAYPAL ACCOUNT EVER EVER EVER AGAIN. Yes. FORRRRRR…… EVVVVVVVV…… ERRRRR….. just like The Sandlot film.

10 months later.
No more COVID-Cash from Headquarters, and I’m about to start drafting a will or seeking out an attorney, whom, after my passing, due to my lack of my VERY MUCH NEEDED MEDICATION, which I am unable to afford now, maybe I’ll be able to finally be sick enough for it to finally pay off for my mother, and my death will be hailed in the real news, Trump news, all news & media…. fingers crossed, for more additional rotten awful garbage customer service.

Then, just the other day, A PAYMENT WAS MADE FROM MY ACCOUNT!

So, sure, they are now able to pick n choose what they’d like to do with my personal funds, which, at one time, I considered to be the safest swiftest easiest place to store savings and subsequent crypto purchases, from throughout last COVID year.

This money was my very last nest egg, to ensure my survival, after all was said & done with the COVID cash, and the economy does what it always does, and screws everything up, for everyone! No matter how much we have thought we’ve appropriately planned ahead and have been nothing but responsible.

Places like PAYPAL will ALWAYS find some kind of loophole to ruin your life, and they deserve less than a single shape that comes close to resembling a star.

I hope that just one person reads this, can relate to my story, calls me up, leaves me many messages for years, outlining a plan to start our own company, that has one pure simple objective, and when that one person sees this, they will know EXACTLY to which field of industry to which I am referring….

Happy ChemTrails, and Vaping for your 5 yr old kids birthday parties, you small minded inconsiderate selfish, trailer park back room fishbowl scum sucking bottom dwelling blah blah blah….. HASHTAG - LIFEFACINGDEATHBECAUSEPAYPALLIVESLIFEFROMFISHERMANCAPTAINSEAMENNAZI’sTRUMPLOVERS.

P.S. - I am for sale. I am living that bedrest life. If you, no. Not you, PAYPAL, but if you, the Consumer needs me to write some scathing nonsense to anyone, I would be glad to do it from home, and rates will be Sussed out, as we go. Hit me up. Let’s ruin everything that is already bad, anyway!

PayPal Very disappointed in PayPal over the last 3+ months

Very disappointed in PayPal over the last 3+ months, despite the fact that I’ve invested in PayPal stock — for the long term.

Why am I disappointed?

I’ve used PayPal for personal financial transactions and for fund raising for my college fraternity. It’s the latter, use for fund raising, that is the source of my profound disappointment.

Again, WHY?

1) PayPal used to offer Money Pools that were GREAT for fund raising — so long as non-PayPal contributors were warned NOT to use a credit card for their donations. (The issuing credit card financial institution treated the donation as a CASH ADVANCE to the credit card if a PayPal non-member used a credit card to make a donation. That would incur interest charges, each day, from the moment of one’s contribution until it was paid in total to the financial institution.)

2) PayPal Money Pool users were given advance notice from PayPal that all Money Pools, and activity therein — including donations to Money Pools — would be discontinued and removed as convenient donations tools — by the end of October .

3) As a result of the notification of the discontinuation of PayPal Money Pools, I sought another option to accomplish the same within PayPal. (Previously, with a Money Pool, requests for contributions were conveniently limited to individuals who received a specific, individual email from the Money Pool “Host” [me] to contribute to that specific Money Pool website — within PayPal.) As a result, I began a “Fund Raiser”, as opposed to a Money Pool, for an event that occurred in early September. My concern had been that some contributions/donations might roll into the site after October 31.

4) The process of simply beginning to set up the PayPal “Fund Raiser” was FAR MORE involved and confusing than setting up a Money Pool. It was a ROYAL PAIN!

5) The ABSOLUTELY WORST PART of having set up the “Fund Raiser” is the fact that, COMPLETELY UNBEKNOWNST TO ME, the PayPal website URL for my specific group of individuals (my fraternity brothers) to whom requests for donations would go out ended up going out TO THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE ON THE WORLDWIDE WEB!

6) The result of the above — requests for donations going out ended up going out
TO THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE ON THE WORLDWIDE WEB — was that a LARGE NUMBER of what appeared to be scam $1.00 donations on credit cards from individuals, whose names appeared to be HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS, from outside the U.S., were coming in. Even a PayPal technician I worked with over the phone suspected the “credit card holders” were using STOLEN credit cards as a test — in making the $1.00 donations — to determine if they could, in fact, use the stolen credit cards.

7) I immediately shut down the PayPal “Fund Raiser” but continued to put money into my PayPal account to reimburse the suspect “contributors”.

8) Despite the fact that I began furiously making repayments, as best as I could, back through PayPal, the process was then, and continues to be, an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. It’s a travesty that is ONGOING TO THIS VERY DAY!

9) As a result of this I can’t even use my PayPal account now to even send $1.00 to a family member!

10) Do NOT use PayPal for fund raising contributions! They will do next to NOTHING to help a member/customer to successfully resolve such issues.

PayPal Allows Fraud to Occur on your Account

If i could give it 0 stars i would. On Friday 8/21 someone hacked into my account and sent themselves money. While i was at work i received an email stating that a transaction, that i did not authorize, had occurred. I immediately asked for a 15 minute break to call paypal. First, it was hard to find the contact number for them and i had to search multiple websites to find a phone number. Second, i had called and NOT ONE HUMAN answered the call. Third, when my call was being transferred it would ring once and then an automated message said, “paypal can not handle your issue over the phone. Use our messaging system to resolve your issues.” Then they hung up on me. I called 20 times (not joking but thinking it was just due to too many callers) and kept getting the same response. I then opened a ticket via messenger and told them exactly what happened. Within minutes i had a response that it was an authorized charge and they wouldn’t refund me. I opened ANOTHER ticket and got the SAME response. I ended up calling my bank and they couldn’t do anything, for the time being, because the transaction hadn’t posted on my bank account. So they advised me to open a new checking account (because my paypal was linked to only my checking and NOT a credit card). I did so in hopes that the charge wouldn’t process. But, low and behold, even after all that PayPal PROCESSED it. I was checking my bank religiously since FRIDAY and last night (at 10pm) i saw the charge on my account. Right then and there i contacted my bank. My bank was able to send me an unauthorized transaction form and i filled it out and sent it back. This morning i checked my bank and MY BANK (not paypal) refunded my money. Pay Pal now won’t let me remove my old banking information saying it still has pending transactions... WHICH IS FALSE. I hardly EVER us paypal but now im done with it for good. Poor customer service! So much stress over something they should’ve handled on the phone.

Please think twice about using PayPal. If you get hacked they side with the hacker.

Update:
Due to my bank refunding me my money a negative balance showed up on my paypal! And because of the negative balance i can’t close my account. I’ve spent HOURS trying to get this fixed through the message system (because they wont take calls). They bounce me from rep to rep and they all send me the same bs automated response. Then one rep said that i had to get my bank to pay it and that my bank could refund me! I told them that my bank is the one that refunded me already! Then a new rep messaged me their automated response. I told them to call me and they said they would contact me via phone within 24-48 hours. It NEVER happened. So i messaged back saying i never got the call. They responded saying they’ll put me back on the call list. Did they call me? NO! I’m so over this! I can’t close my account due to the negative balance. I contacted my bank and they even said that this was fishy of paypal and my bank is trying to handle this situation for me. I WILL NEVER USE PAYPAL AGAIN!

Update part 2: i finally received a call today, 9/8, from a paypal manager who was kind and willing to help. He listened to what happened and reopened my case. Within a few hours i was refunded my money and was able to close my account. The one star is ONLY for the helpful manager that took the time to call me back. I am greatly appreciative of how he handled the situation.

Unfortunately, after waiting this long to hear back from a person and getting this resolved has left a bad taste in my mouth. I closed my account and will never use PayPal again.

PayPal BWARE! PayPal balance is a ‘free for all’

I use PayPal on a regular basis and I really like the app but I’m now skeptical about PayPal altogether! I use it in multiple ways... but just had my bubble burst when it became clear that my cash ‘balance’ was used for everything except for what my intentions were for it once I linked my debit PayPal card to it! I couldn’t understand how I kept having money disappear where I was unable to utilize the debit card for the specific purpose I had intended for it. Sure... there’s an ‘activity’ list BUT not specifically how my cash balance kept disappearing. There’s no itemized ‘activity’ specifically for the cash balance. Although you choose your ‘preferred’ payment a certain way, and your cash balance is NOT your preference, it IS PayPal’s preference to utilize your cash balance as a ‘free for all’. I have made changes to my account but prior to getting the total run around from ‘chat messaging’ I had $25 a week debited from my bank account for savings and $25 a week to invest in Acorns. The ‘chat’ told me it is in the ‘agreement’ to debit from our cash balance first which led me on a mission to closely look at my bank records and sure enough there are weeks that only (1) $25 debit (instead of 2) was made BUT then there were weeks that it was taken out multiple times! I know now to keep close attention to PayPal debits but I cancelled the ‘savings’ portion and set it up through Karma instead. But how much sense does it make, for example, I transferred money from my cash app to my banking to deposit to my PayPal balance so I could use the debit card strictly for couponing hauls, but when I went to use it, I had no funds available because instead of PayPal debiting my bank account for the savings and Acorns it took it from the cash balance! There is no logic to it and requested to see whatever ‘agreement’ they kept insisting on chat messaging was the reason behind the ‘free for all’ with my cash balance. I’ve been putting money toward my balance from rebate apps and can’t believe I had always assumed I had accidentally chose it as my ‘preferred’ way to pay when making a purchase but because I had made a significant deposit for a couponing rebate haul with the intention of using my PayPal debit card did I finally realize something was not right. When taking a closer look, they even debited from my balance to every merchant I purchased from and one was even a subscription I have that is supposed to get charged to my credit card! It states under the ‘cash balance’ ~save for a rainy day~ - Yea, right! I got no where with customer support who kept throwing ‘agreement’ in my face that has yet to be seen per my request. I insisted that I wanted my cash balance to be left alone so I can actually use my debit card against it but there’s an ‘agreement’ I have yet to see. Oh yea... do NOT (when managing your debit card) choose the option to ‘Top Off’ from your bank account if funds are not available in your ‘balance’ because if you use your PayPal like I do (for various things... savings, investments, purchases etc) you will be tapping into your bank account instead of it coming out of your ‘cash balance’ because that money is a free for all and they don’t make it easy to keep track of. They should at least have an itemized list of specific transactions in correlation to your cash balance. If you don’t have it as your ‘preferred payment’ - then leave it alone! Cancelled my savings and transferred my balance BACK to my bank account! At least, I know my money there isn’t a ‘free for all’ and I know to watch PayPal closely. Will not be utilizing any cash balance or ever have any use for the PayPal debit card.

PayPal Horrible customer service and scams

Today was one of the worst days in my life. It all started with a call from PayPal informing me that my account has been compromised, but it was really scammers. I initially hung up and attempted to log into my account to call PayPal and noticed my password had changed. I think attempted to go web based and enter PayPal into google and call that way. It basically forwarded my calls to the scammers. I didn’t recognize it at first. So I was informed that I needed to go a PayPal partner store to buy a google play card. So when I informed the rep that it was stupid for PayPal make me spend money to verify my location and identity. I live in Michigan and the scammer lives in California...the only scam is PayPal. So the rep sent me a security code that came through the same text message number from PayPal as I called before in November and they verified my account the same way. These so called scammers new all my information. So I assumed they were telling the truth. I hung up and attempted to call PayPal again but every time I called the number posted on PayPal’s account was going to the scammers. So they verified my account again by sending a text message from PayPal from the same number. So I purchased a $100 google play card and read the rep the number. He then proceeded to say that he was half way through cleaning the hackers but needed another google play card for $500 and remind you, they said this money will be returned on your PayPal card in 5 mins. I insisted to the rep that I was not buying another google play card and wanted to speak with a supervisor and he hung up. It was at this time I received another email stating my PayPal account password has been changed. So I went to yahoo browser to look for PayPal home page and wrote the number on a piece of paper and select the call button. When the phone started to call I realized the last four digits were different then the number I wrote down. That how I knew something was different. I contacted PayPal and I realized that it was scam when the rep state sorry, but we have been busy all day with these call. She stated google and PayPal are working together with law enforcement in investigating these claims as I’m not the only person. I was baffled because if this is true, why did PayPal not contact their customers via phone, email, letter or text message that customers should be aware of suspicious activities as there has been some possible accounts being hacked. PayPal did nothing and did even offer an apology. I sat on the phone with PayPal for 2 and half hours it’s was pathetic. They helped me change my password and informed me that they will reimburse the $100, and added protection and will investigate. Apparently, they lied. I went to get gas and my card was denied. When I attempted to sign on my acct was locked again. When I called PayPal I waited on hold for 40 mins. Then the rep informed me that there was an investigation and the account is restricted. Informed the rep how can I use my funds and he just said they are investigating. I informed him that I need access to my money and he was silent. PayPal has basically hacked 100’s of dollars from customers like me. I still can’t access my account or use my card, so basically PayPal is holding and refusing me access. I believe the whole scam is PayPal and this is a pay for the to get more money and lock your funds up for interest because they are a private bank. Run from PayPal, they are scammers and liars. If you want your hard working money, don’t trust it with PayPal. I learned the hard way and lost my money because PayPal is just holding it. Poor poor service. PayPal should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of people.

PayPal What a joke a real unrealistic unprofessional group of representatives

Well I've been a long-term loyal customer And I've done thousands of dollars of transactions using PayPal for a while now I have available to access my account he gives me a number to call PayPal When attempting to login to my account when I call the number and asked me if I'm having a problem logging in with the automated phone service Then they stated they will send me a password reset link in order to get it to my account and change my passwordSo I change the password to login and I get the same error message not Allowing me to login . After attempting this several different times And still being locked out of my account I finally get a hold of a real live representative. So they inform me I have a negative balance of $10 with PayPal So then proceed to tell me that's why my accounts Been locked so you lock me out of my account when I go to login I get a error message being told to call A number for PayPal then being prompted to get a link sent to my email to change my password now I can't access my account I have no way of knowing I have an unpaid balance I have no way of paying this unpaid balance but I don't know this yet so the representative says she'll take my payment using my debit card after several attempts and being told it was declined I called my bank. My bank assured me there is no reason why my card should be getting declined so I call speak with another rep. We temp several more times to make this $10 payment which will not go through now I've sold seven dollars of the things on eBay and this PayPal account is linked to my eBay why PayPal wouldn't receive the money sent from the buyer deduct our $10 and let me go on about my business is beyond me so I speak with a fourth or fifth representative for PayPal and she recommends me going to get a prepaid PayPal card to paySo I go buy a prepaid PayPal card to pay the balance now the new representing know I'm speaking with number six I believe Informs me that PayPal doesn't take payments by debit credit or any cards of that sort to resolve unpaid balances after six other reps five other Representatives try to take a payment having no knowledge of this whatsoever being new policy so she then tells me or direct me that I will need to find a friend with a PayPal account to call them about my matter and try to get them to transfer money into my locked account because they have to do it over the phone or to create a new account to make that payment so I create a new account my bank account is linked with the locked account so I cannot link my bank account with my new account but I can't send money or add to my balance without a bank account that's linked in has been confirmed through two deposits and one with drawl transaction amounts so here I sit several hundred dollars in my account for stuff that I've sold on eBay with a $10 balance did the PayPal that I can't resolve so then I'm directed to mail my $10 payment to PayPal what an absolute joke a absolute mess and extremely ridiculous being a longtime member keeping my account in good standing having done several thousand dollars for the transactions I can't tell you how disappointed aggravated and how much time this organization has wasted of mine on my Saturday when I should be inEnjoying every minute of this beautiful Saturday with my three-year-old son PayPal you are absolute joke to not be able to pay a $10 balance for so not to be able to override that whatever the case such a simple simple simple thing is just crazy I do think about how much time they've wasted of mine today and how much time they paid the six representatives that couldn't handle a simple simple task makes me wonder if I'd ever want them handling the logistics of my finances or managing my finances at any point in time

PayPal Re: Refunds!

PayPal has repeatedly sided with businesses that have conned me out of my money stating they will be supplying a product or a service and then not providing them to me.

I recently paid $1,100.00 for a Women’s Retreat experience that was in Brookings, Oregon. It was a 15 hour drive there from where I live. The start date was Jan. 2, 2022 meeting at 3 pm. This is when I was led to believe more people would be arriving and picked up keys to a cabin that had not been cleaned and smelled like skunk weed.

At 5 pm I met back with the host who invited me to sit with her to drink from a pitcher of water. She asked if I was comfortable with her removing her mask and I responded, “Don’t you need to, so you can drink water with me?” She informed me she was getting over a bronchitis, but had her two vaccines and a booster. She then removed her mask and I could hear a deep cough, which she indicated I might here. I told her I did not want to get C-19 nor Bronchitis, and pushed my chair back distancing from her about 4 feet. The lady that joined us I learned was one of her close friends who showed up to give her support. Basically, there were no other ladies at the Retreat that paid, just me! After dinner I headed to the cabin and that is a story in itself, I turned in my cabin key and stayed in a hotel.

The itinerary had been written out by the hour for each day of the retreat and it states you can join us for any of the things listed or not, that is up to you, since the retreat is for your relaxation and enjoyment. Jan. 3, there had been a power outage that occurred at 4 am for the whole area of Brookings with power coming back on around 11 am. I arrived back at the restaurant around 11:30 am hoping to join the 12:30 pm scheduled lunch to discover she had closed her restaurant. I called her number and no one answered, so I left a voice message and then a written message and still no response. Prior to the retreat this woman had been responsive, but once there she later claimed that she never got my messages or didn’t see them right away. I sent her a message at 12:40 pm that I was going to grab a lunch, since she was not responding. The lunch was suppose to be included in the retreat purchase. She denied me!

Around 1 pm the host calls me as I am pulling up to a cafe in the downtown area of Brookings and instead of being a caring professional she was curt and nasty stating “We lost our morning, so I left with my friend for a hike. I do not want to lose any more of my day trying to get a Covid test, so I do not think this is working for us! I can not give you any value or benefit and think we need to cancel! By the way, the monies paid are Non Refundable! I responded “I was not thinking that way…” She stated I’ll be doing a deep breathing yoga class at 6 pm you can come to that! I told her directly on the call your schedule had scheduled lunch at 12:30 pm and then a hike afterwards. You chose to skip the lunch and go on a hike with your friend. I already told you I will not go to a yoga where we are in an enclosed space doing deep breathing unless you can show a negative Covid test. She respond “No, I will not do that and am losing time now, so going now!” That was the last time I had communications with this woman.

PayPal has sided with this host stating that she rendered services that I turned down, so this woman got to pocket $1,100.00 for actually not doing her job as a host of a retreat. She had a full week in which to get a Covid-19 test prior to my arrival, but she didn’t and never considered me. However, I got one just before my 15 hour drive to her and mine was negative, so I was considerate of her and anyone else that would be attending the retreat. What I received for $1,100.00 was a basic dinner salad, veggie lasagna and a welcome canvas bag with gifts such as shower brush, shower sponge, note book about a $40.00 value.

PayPal Due diligence and Perseverance

Proves futile amongst subjective assassins driven by primary objective to steer clear of any logically tried and proven methods of problem resolution. Next my come off as an opinion though I assure you It is 100% factually correct and accurate. If at any time for any reason or for no reason at all a shopper hits a snag during checkout, PayPal will freeze and hold any Checking, Savings, ATM and/or Debit type account in the hopes that by the time said issue is resolved that you will have simply forgotten about the issue and they will proceed to process funds from the initial transaction and spinelessly initiate a 2nd transaction in order to double bill you. My most recent (and last) nightmare with PayPal (I will never purchase through them again) I participated in and auction for an E bike I won that auction I immediately attempted to pay for my item and PayPal had put a hold on my car I thought that that was unusual so I called my credit union and they assured me that the card was fine had sufficient funds and was ready to be used I then called PayPal and said you’re mistaken my card is absolutely good and has twice what’s needed as far as sufficient funds Are concerned. I then proceeded to contact my credit union via three-way to put a representative on the line to reiterate to the customer service agent at PayPal the same that I had attempted to convey to PayPal as soon as my credit union representative spoke the words our client Joshua Clark has sufficient funds to complete this transaction and our records indicate that the card he is using is not expired and has no restrictions PayPal immediately dismissed this testimony and stated that they were going to need photocopies of my drivers license, Social Security card , recent check stub from my employer, and a photo copy of my most recent bank statement and or credit card statement (and this part is hilarious) The statement I provide would be required to indicate the failed attempt to use the card for my eBay purchase at this point but West County credit union customer service agent but it in interrupting oh this is ridiculous mr. Clark hang up the phone right now we’re not on the phone with PayPal this there’s no way that these are PayPal representatives unfortunately I had to tell him that these were the same PayPal representative that we have been dealing with day in and day out for the last 10 days with no resolve at this point The seller cancel the transaction ding in my record for failure to pay to payIn this next part is the type of situation where is litigation is sought on principle alone when it happens to someone standing in a little more financial light than myself. At some point during that night before I woke up the next morning and after the seller head back all the way out of this deal PayPal ran the charges on my card for an item not coming to me and for funds which would never reach the seller. In my opinion Pay Pal has absolutely committed FRAUD here and I find it curious that only pay has documentation of how this fiasco played out. They allegedly have documentation indicating that my credit union not them and not eBay put the hold on my card which I have already confirmed and verified is absolutely false they also Allegedly have documentation of the item been shipped to me which the seller has been more than cooperative and helping me clear my name for the non-payment and otherwise. Now they’re trying to circumvent me and withdraw the funds from my bank account telling my bank is for a transaction for which I have already been deliveredLuckily my bank will not be delivering funds to PayPal anytime in and your future without handwritten signatures and two party wittnesses. It’s time for us to all band together and simply stop using PayPal if 10 people here till 10 people and they Tilton people and they told him people and they told him people PayPal no longer be a thing by the start of next week thank you and good luck

PayPal Worst customer service company ever

PayPal made a mistake my account months and instead of admitting it and correcting it, they chose to penalize my wife and I with are accounts. The customer service and upper management kept taking my savings account out of my PayPal wallet. I have tried for months to get them to correct their mistake. Every time my wife and I call because we are in the PayPal system Yvan choose to answer the phone or not to. They have repeatedly discriminated against my wife and I because we are people of color. They talk extremely nasty to you when they do choose to answer our phone call. They will have a wait time of 30 minutes to a hour having you hold for a supervisor. After the supervisor never gets the phone to speak with you you can literally hear the supervisor telling the customer service person to hang up on us. Some times when you ask questions about why what and when they get extremely angry and the supervisor tells to to flag my account for fraud. I have literally jumped through hoops for the past 6 months to the point where I even had to send a copy of my drivers license and passport. I have passed the verification process with flying colors but they choose to discriminate us based on our skin color. Whenever they choose to answer the phone when you ask to many questions they either hang up on you or they don’t know anything they look at my file and I have been a loyal customer for years with a A+ rating with PayPal and the merchants were I shop. I have spent at least 15,000 dollars with PayPal and have never had a issue they don’t know why my account is flagged cause when they look at my account it is perfectly clean. They have made racist comments and statements to my wife and I. Whenever they choose to answer your call cause the department has caller id and also every call is recorded. They will have you wait so long your pressure will go up and when you speak to them your frustrated and upset because of their racist practices. So they will add my savings account back n my wallet i have to wait for them to make 2 small deposits under 50 cents I waited for a month 1 time and they never made the deposits now it’s a coincidence that they keep my checking account on my my credit cards on but they have took my savings account off at least 15 times. So when you call they fake apologize n put my savings account back n my wallet n so after 30 of nonsense you think everything is ok n no sooner than when you hang up they take it back off n you have to go through the harassment and bias and discrimination all over again. Sometimes I have my wife call cause I had a heart attack and I don’t need the stress n she will repeatedly call n customer service won’t pick up. N there is never any way to write or call cooperate head quarters and complain. I have never experienced such discrimination of my skin color like this from any company before. They take the situation as a joke and when they do answer the phone u can quietly hear the supervisor telling the agent what to do. N still to today April the 6th 2023 their still is nothing wrong with my account I pass the verification process n as soon as I sent a copy of my drivers license n they found out I was black it doesn’t matter how much I have spent with PayPal or how clean my file is by the way it’s squeaky clean they discriminate and harass the supervisors talk down to you n still they won’t resolve my complaint and charges against them for discrimination n racist practices against people of color. I am calling everyone to boycott and write to your county representative and write a complaint against PayPal. I have spoken to the ComplaintsBoard.com n Pennsylvania and getting a attorney to file charges of discrimination based on my skin color n my wife skin color and charges of racist practices against people of color. I’m currently n the process of speaking with the Philadelphia chapter of the naacp and calling for a nation wide boycott for discrimination racism and harassment against people of color.

PayPal The worst week, PLUS, of my life!

Don’t EVER make the mistake of doing any banking with a small child around, as I’d attempted to request a four month payment from a part time job, yet as I went to hit ‘request’, my daughter hit my elbow, hence the small, two button option to request or send, ended up sending my fat thumb onto slightly more of the ‘send’, then ‘request’…hence causing a near panic attack as it’d been over four months, so a pretty low checking account with a dire need for the funds…as my daughter’s birthday was the following week.
I’d written as many letters and notices as allowed by app to alert to the mistake, and quite honestly didn’t think of again, assuming basic customer service would get to the minutia.
Low and behold, as my boss pays me through Zelle, ONLY THEN, once the balance was great enough to then send to my boss, PayPal goes ahead and sends anyway. I didn’t even find out for two days, as ALL my prior week’s backing continues to bounce and pile up.
It was while downtown, last minute shopping for the birthday party, that I found myself shocked out of my boots, at not only a zero available balance, but over $500 in the red! My worst nightmare and something I haven’t gone in the decades since college!
Yet to get through to ANYONE who cared; to get an answer besides the 5-8business days required to process the immediate return of funds from my boss! So natch, the 5-8 business days turned into two weekends being absolutely broke beyond even the $20 min to take out of account; family sent a few checks to help out during that time, but was so far over drawn that to deposit meant it’d only go straight to that, instead of giving us sone cash for the week.
My phone bill was due & nearly suspended! It all snowballed the entire week; couldn’t eat or hardly sleep…at my age, to be in such a dire situation was completely humiliating, and it didn’t matter who I tried speaking with At PayPal or who I wrote: same answer every time. So instead of a happy week right before her party, I was stressed beyond explanation and unable to concentrate on a thing, so frustrated by the ‘powers that be’, or the blanket policies at this now massive company, that prevent human or specific circumstance that dictate a need for change in policy. And as one who also lives in San Francisco, around the corner from their headquarters; classmates of my daughter who work in the higher positions: no matter. They’ve helped contribute, as one of the bigger companies that have destroyed our once great City, and completely ruined, thus robbed, over a week of what was to be special celebration. My ulcer flared up and is still healing, thus losing almost 10lbs over it as well.
Yet again, no one ANYWHERE in their massive group, where this amount of money means nothing…yet like banks, hence why I’m with a credit union, they’re big enough to just arbitrarily keep our money as long as they’d like, when transfers had all been done and taken care of the second the trouble was tracked down. I honestly thought someone had broken into my account and stole all funds.

Oh yeah, that IS what happened…but under the guise of their business policies…never again! Goodbye and good riddance. There’s a reason that it’s so rare to find another who’ll even use it anymore! I used to find it so frustrating that the rest of my friends & associates had moved on to other apps, like Zelle, but I sure found out the hard way why….(!).
If you value having any control over your funds, or expect decent company policies that occasionally don’t fit into the exact norm of said policies, but rather only serve their bottom line, no respect or regard to the over draft or negative ramifications on the banking account linked to then, well, be you’ve been warned. I’m still trying to get the ulcer back down, and my daughter’s party still happened, as I’d taken care of the deposit prior to this fiasco, but yeah. The party favor bags, or last minute gifts, forget about. Sure, to that degree, ‘first world problems’. But the rest, the banking and personal toll; no real dollar amount to attach to that!

PayPal They have changed

For almost one year I enjoyed the best fiat transferring service that I have ever seeing all of their involved with. After the pandemic hit. Customer service became really bad. Due to underlying health condition I have been in isolation for seven months. I have been sending my son between 750 and $850 around the third or fourth of each month to get my bills paid, my food bought and my medication for the next month. Somebody flagged me as a bad participant i.e. money launderer? And threw a 24 hour. Would do Kroul, very mentally cruel messages to me while I am suffering from not having medication and eventually passed out from not having any food. The representative accuse me of having to accounts and asked me to stop bothering her to go get my money out of another account? So I had to contact my bank and they let me know that PayPal I received my two days ago.But then getting a hold of the
customer service rep she told me that instead of holding it until the sixth of the month. That now she’s going to hold it until the 11th. For a day my card was deactivated and there was no way to get a hold of customer service as they put some code in that when I clicked on it it blocked or something else. So I couldn’t pay my rent and I have a apartment manager that may be her elevator doesn’t go all the way up I’m not sure? But she stuck in eviction notice on my door! So yesterday morning after I come back home from the hospital they put fluids in me get some food in me. Do you hydrated has really affected my disease. There was a message that was a nice message but it was cynical as they were accusing me of being the reason that it was not an instant payment as it has been for the last seven months. Something called an E check but I cannot figure out how to find out how I could send one again if it was my fault? But there are no instructions and BBVA compass said it’s the fastest form of payment which makes me think of XRP that there is a Paypal tells me is the slowest one and it’s my fault. I am actually hurt! Not only physically from passing out. But from PayPal going back on everything that they promised me that they delivered until I decided that I had two accounts and I was sending money from one to the other not thinking my son had the same name as me. Even though I repeatedly told them that I am lucky and I live in America I don’t think I had ever went over 36 hours without food?! But I have now as my card would not work the seven different attempts I made it to get food. Be careful don’t count on them as your only source for money. And they made that suggestion to me after that’s what they had initially sold me on was our card I’ll take care of everything with a link it to your bank and you never have to worry at all! And as I said they were spot on but continue to get worse through this pandemic and then yesterday excuse me two days ago it was a twilight episode I’m sure some of these words and sentences are not correct as I have not received all my vision back yet I am talking into the phone. Be careful people somethings wrong I will be putting all the messages out on Twitter it’s @Crypto 504. Everybody please be careful and take something like a review that is different than most of the reviews but very recent I will be getting with Apple Monday. As I’m letting Compas and a government agency look into that Americans with disabilities act that PayPal 100% violating with several federal charges. If you’re hyper closing make our blood sugar or anything be careful! I was lucky to have lived. Because I don’t remember passing out just breaking my nose in the blood that woke up in. I love her disability apartment so I was able to get to one of the emergency strains. It was the most humiliating night of my life! But hospital for never taste so good! Be careful people things are different! I have ran a major corporation and this shows possible signs of financial trouble and I know they just reported earnings so I’m going to look into it. I can’t believe how bad they treated me. It was a great company I am so disappointed as I have to find somebody else to connect with the bank because we all know being so bad I wonder if maybe PayPal has hooked up with a bank?

PayPal Worst customer service of my entire life, hands-down. Absolutely unacceptable

My PayPal account has been locked for roughly 6 months now, if not more and I have yet to be given a satisfactory answer as to why. I have had this account for more than a decade, this was the primary account I used for my independent interior design and home staging business and was running upwards of $50,000 per year through this account easily. I never had a single issue, and out of nowhere I was told one day that my account was locked and I needed to do 12 different steps to verify it… Of which I completed all 12... And still cannot get access to withdraw the $500 that PayPal has seized and stolen from me for over half a year now.

I have attempted to call customer service more times than I could possibly count and I cannot ever get through to a human being no matter how many hours I sit on hold. I have sent the messages on their secure message portal, I have emailed them, I have messaged them on social media, I have asked repeatedly to have this issue fixed, I have begged and pleaded, I have chatted with them, I have done everything aside from drive to the PayPal corporate headquarters myself in person. I’ve uploaded copies of my passport, my tax information, my drivers license front and back, I’ve answered security questions, I verified debit cards, I have done everything short of creating an actual miracle myself and they still will not grant me access to my own account which is very clearly mine… Even though I have passed every outrageous security test and check that they have given me since day one.

So for over six months now I have had $500 tied up in this account that I can’t access. My own money that I deposited into my own PayPal account and they now refuse to release to me no matter what I do.. It is impossible to get a human being on the phone. They continually ask me to verify the two cards on my account that are either expired or that were stolen in an identity theft scam and are now closed, both of which are completely useless BUT I can still verify every piece of information on the card including the number, the expiration date, the CVV code, the billing ZIP Code, the issuing bank… Absolutely anything and everything they asked for… But because the cards no longer work… PayPal won’t accept them! Yet they won’t verify my account and release the funds without these two cards! It’s the most absurd ridiculous thing I have ever seen in my life. They tell me I have to verify the cards… I do so… Then they tell me that they can’t accept them because they’re expired or because they’ve been closed down because of fraudulent activity! What difference does it make? If I verified all of the information on the cards Plus the ridiculous amount of information PayPal has requested, which I have submitted to a T without a fault… Then I should be granted access to my account. I can’t help that I was part of an identity theft scam… I should not be penalized because I had my identity stolen away from me. That is the most absurd ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard in my life.

At this point I am so beyond furious I’ve contacted an attorney because I don’t know what else to do to get this $500 that I deposited into that account that I simply went back.

This absurdity has going on long enough. How am I supposed to verify two card that cannot be charged? Nobody can seem to give me that answer. I have verified literally everything else on the account: Like all of my security questions, my password, my email, the street I lived on when I was three years old, my mothers maiden name, the first concert I attended, etc. I can answer without hesitation…But because PayPal can’t charge a verification amount to my expired or stolen credit card, I am not allowed to access $500 that’s been stolen from me by PayPal at this point? I have tried every method I can possibly think of to reach an actual human being and it is impossible. Every other verification item they’ve asked for, every piece of identification, every password, every piece of sensitive information, every single thing they have requested of me, I have delivered to them. I have a police report showing identity theft, I have three credit report showing that I have identity theft alerts, I have statements from my bank, I have statements from my various credit cards and I have spent hundreds of hours working on getting this money and cannot get it no matter what I do or how hard I try. In the end it wasn’t the identity thieves that hurt me in this situation. They took a total of maybe $20 out of my PayPal account… It’s PayPal that has been the real criminal in this entire scenario. They have taken over $500 for me without just cause and refuse to return it no matter how many times I requested. At this point it’s theft. Six months they have held this money hostage and refused to release it to me? PayPal has, by far, cost far more issues and problems and loss of money for me then the thieves that stole my identity. I have no choice but to contact the ComplaintsBoard.com, and attorney, and anyone and everyone else that will listen while I scream as loudly and as widely as humanly possible about this ridiculous injustice.

I have exhausted every option humanly possible and cannot get these people that are supposed to be here to help me at PayPal, to help me! All I want is my money back! Then I will never use this service as long as I live ever again for the rest of my life! When my husband and I first started our business we were running 30,000 and $40,000 a year in transaction through PayPal… Now I wouldn’t use PayPal if my life depended on it for anything! Our business runs through cash app, Venmo, chase bank and Zelle exclusively now. Never again will I use PayPal as a service to run my business. If you do so, you will come to regret it I assure you. Run as far and as fast as you can from this horrible, deplorable, awful business model and company.

PayPal Fraudulent transaction

Good day BBB and thank you for your time. I am filing a complaint against PayPal and their failed financial service. mMy name is John Jeremy Scott and live in Northern Michigan, drive a truck with nearly 400,000 miles on it, and rely each month on a disability check to live on as I sustained a closed head injury in 1994 and do not have a job. My income each month is $1,140 taking away a mortgage payment, utilities, gas cost, and normal living expenses. My income level, according to Michigan's income charts, sets me below poverty on an annual basis. Now my complaint is that on Aug 21, 2024 an individual I am unaware of hacked into my PayPal account, where as myself not being home, they began charging large purchases to a business known as StubHub: $1,736.71 transaction ID 4C256259HE043354D, $1,615.69 transaction ID 2BJ33210TT5421430, $2,533.31 transaction ID 8LJ54978F4264831R, $1,627.68 transaction ID 808836045Y556981M, and $3,010.08 transaction ID 8KR12844U1637251J. The first amount was processed through my personal as an ACH or digital check, however no funds have ever been removed from my banking accounts and a bank manager can find no instance of any of these amounts appearing in any of my statements or deductions. Three amounts the hacker created a credit line and made purchases through that and those amounts have been refunded and classified through PayPal itself as being Fraudulent along with a fourth amount placed on my mothers card also refunded and classified as being Fraudulent. Of all five amounts, all happening at the same time, all happening on same day and four charges being classified as being Fraud, one amount of $1,736.71 remains that PayPal states I must have made. So, lets look at this from a realistic standpoint. Why would I, someone who is living month to month, no savings, suddenly out of the blue decide that I want to buy tickets that cost more than my monthly income, and go to a concert that I have no possible way of reaching for lack of funds and my truck would probably break down still inside of the state lines? I have been fighting this since day one, not understanding how individuals inside PayPal can not see the absurdity of this purchase they say was me! And no one has given me complete facts, I find something new out each time I talk to someone. What scares me and is going to make me close my accounts forever with this very poorly handled institution, is that the bank manager says anyone can make purchases like these one anyone account with only my/their login ID and email address...dont even need a password! I thought the BBB was put in place to protect us consumers from businesses like this who have no idea what they are doing yet we give them permission to access out financial life. Also, I never authorized this transaction, PayPal processed it ON THEIR OWN, and NOW I am meant to pay back PayPal's mistake! This is fair warning to anyone out there with a PayPal account, whats going on with me could easily happen to you. PayPal is not a bank yet they have the authority to transfer you income like they were and when something wrong happens talking to their customer service is like the blind leading the blind. The BBB really needs to look deep into this farce of a company and either make some major changes or -and this is my suggestion- close this company and stop them from having the authority to destroy someone's life all because of either a digital error or completely ignorant reps. Every one of these large financial purchases need to be deemed Fraudulent becaus they are. Now since this happened, PayPal has turned this over to a collections agency, American Coradius International LLC, and after the phone call I had with the agent, HE believed me and began a Fraud case in my behalf in his company where as in they put a hold on everything giving me 30 days to prove my end of this case. Anyone I talk to about this in PayPal, after I explain what happened that individual also believes me and assures me it will be classified as Fraudulent, however here we are. Although I have been assured this will be handled by a warm blooded human being, I honestly believe all PayPal is doing is unloading this to their computers to make the decision. Any prosecutor is going to look at this and the evidence I have and not even take it cause they know they will never win. I also filled out a Police Report and have a full folder of documents with all evidence including StubHub transactions. StubHub can also correct this situation by classifying this purchase as being Fraudulent and I will be filing a complaint against them after this because its the same story, every individual I talk with believes me that this was a Fraudulent Transaction. Realistically, why would I ever place myself into a position like the one I am in now? I need PayPal and StubHub to look at this from a realistic standpoint and not just let their computers make the choice. There is no way I could even make a purchase like this, nor is their any eway I could ever benefit from making a purchase like this because of my daily and monthly living expenses that, by the 15th, I am normally down to double digits in my bank account. In any case, thank you for your time BBB and allowing me to present my case. John Jeremy Scott
Also I will be mailing the CEO and CFO of PayPal to try to force a resolution to this case to remove the negative balance so I can close my account and never use PayPal again! If required I can provide proof of my low income status along with any bank statements needed from any year. One final question: what right does PayPal have to fund an organization without said funds being in that attached account? If it was a bank, the amount they funded would never have cleared! Like I said, PayPal really screwed up and now they want me to pay for their mistake.

Claimed loss: $1,736.71 to be removed from negative balance and filed accurately as being Fraudulent to restore my balance back to $0.00

Desired outcome: PayPal to look at this REALISTICALLY and not just let their computers make the decision for them.

this complaint is towards the collection institution named American Coradius International. my name is John Jeremy Scott and my complaint is that this collection agency will be attempting to collect funds that have never existed in any of my accounts. on August 21, 2024 a fraudulent individual hacked their way into my PayPal account from somewhere in another state or overseas and began to purchase concert tickets from StubHub; 5 in all. all purchases were made with StubHub on the same day and at the same time and all but one I stopped from being processed after I discovered what had happened when I got home. of the 5 purchases, 4 have already been refunded and classified as fraudulent: $1,736.71 transaction ID 4C256259HE043354D, $1,615.69 transaction ID 2BJ33210TT5421430, $2,533.31 transaction ID 8LJ54978F4264831R, $1,627.68 transaction ID 808836045Y556981M, and $3,010.08 transaction ID 8KR12844U1637251J. the first transaction for $1,736.71 is the amount in question as PayPal is unable to look back and see the previous transactions that have been refunded and deemed fraudulent, so why is this amount any different? so background on myself, and all comments I make I can prove, I am disabled and live on ssdi. I do not work, I own one truck with nearly 400,000 miles on it that couldnt make it outside the state lines without breaking down, and my income level annually places me below the poverty limit, so could someone please explain to me how I am to benefit at all buying concert tickets to some other state with money that exceeds my monthly income from disability? this collection agency needs to take a hard look at this situation and clear my name because there is not one benefit that could happen for me to place an order like this. all transactions placed with StubHub, 4 out of the 5 categorized as being fraudulent, yet 1 I must have purchased even though my income each month is usually spent on a mortgage, utilities, and normal living expenses...I even heat my home with a fireplace cause I cannot afford liquid propane. this company needs to see reason and inform PayPal that their information is inaccurately founded and to return my PayPal account to a $0.00 balance.

PayPal PayPal keeps denying my dispute claim and won’t refund me back my money

I have open an dispute claim (The Dispute Claim ID is PP-R-STD-[protected]) on a transaction on my PayPal account due to me having a very terrible experience with the Merchant’s service not being as described so obviously I have contacted one of the executive offices from PayPal about my issue with this transaction and reopen my dispute claim due to it being denied the first time (As Shown in the Pictures). The executive office from PayPal promised me that this time the dispute claim will be closed in my favor and I will receive my $101.64 refund but unfortunately for some odd reason PayPal keeps denying my dispute claim and won’t refund me back the $101.64 (As Shown in the Pictures) so I try to contact the executive office from PayPal again but this time he is ignoring my emails.

Claimed loss: $101.64

Desired outcome: I just want PayPal to immediately refund me by closing the $101.64 Dispute Claim in my favor.

PayPal They can just do what they want with your accounts! Removed my checking account that I have many payment plans funneled through without my consent

I contacted PayPal on 12/6/2024 at approximately 5:30ish pm to let them know that I was in the process of getting a new Debit card through my Credit Union due to a scam. I had an 3 upcoming payments through a program called 4 in 1 and wanted to make sure that the payments for 12/7/2024 didn't get interrupted or end up with a late payments. Because one other time the payment didn't go through they removed my Bank Account for either insufficient funds or missing the payment. Well, to avoid this I made sure to pay them from my PayPal debit card before the due date! I had over $500.00 left in my PayPal debit card and transferred it to my Firelands Federal Credit Union so nothing would bounce. This is when I found out that they took out my Checking account associated with the Debit Card. The agent (genius) decided it was their job without my consent to remove my Credit Union checking and savings account when I never consented to do this, I never said my Bank or Credit Union was breached! I immediately contacted my Credit Union before PayPal, what do they think I am an idiot or what? I think they have way too much control over my accounts. I contacted them over and over regarding this issue and they bold faced lied about it and said it was added back in and it wasn't, they never did that. Instead of owning up to the mistake, they were covering up there mistakes hoping not to get fired. I have had many problems with their maleficence. They will take money out electronically and not put it back electronically. You have to wait for a check to be sent 10 to 14 days? Even if it is their error. I have copies of all of the problems I have had with them over the past years. This has really screwed me up royally. I have hours of work ahead of me tomorrow.

Claimed loss: I still have many companies I have to contact to avoid payment problems tomorrow.

Desired outcome: I want an explanation for their rational in doing this. I never authorized it. I handled this situation appropriately. The company can't read my mind and, "therefore can't decide what I want done on my behalf"

I forgot to mention that my Debit card was breached is the reason I was contacting them in the first place!

PayPal PayPal's ASSistant (AI) doesn't let customers dispute more than one item in an order

On 04/22/24 I placed an online order for three items on what turned out to be a scammer website. (Two products, one of the first and two of the second).

USPS tracking number 9405509202092510144129 .

On 04/27/24 instead of the items I purchased I received an EMPTY 4"x6" bubble mailer. I immediately tried emailing the company but the email would not go through. The reason given by outlook.com was: “The Domain Name System (DNS) reported that the recipient’s domain does not exist.”

I signed into my PayPal account to dispute the transaction. I could not find any phone number or way to speak to customer service. The only option I was given was to chat with their PayPal ASSistant (AI). The ASSistant would only let me dispute one item in my order. I checked the box for the first item. Every time I would check the other box for the second two items the first box would clear. Since there are no instructions I stupidly continued with the dispute for the first item. The ASSistant decided in my favor. (dispute case PP-R-XCC-[protected] for $32.99 USD)

When I then tried to use the ASSistant a second time to dispute the other part of my order the ASSistant informed me that because the first dispute was found in my favor the case was closed and could not be reopened.

After several tries I somehow was put through to a chat with a "customer service" (none) agent. That person simply repeated that the case was closed and advised me to open a dispute with my credit card company (Discover).

Following their advice, I opened a dispute with Discover for the remaining part of my order. Discover found in my favor and has credited my account.

Case 514216138V .

PayPal then contacted me reversing their decision for the first item credit claiming that it was a duplicate payment! I was able to continue my earlier chat but the agent couldn't understand that the two disputes were for different items. I was told I should have disputed the entire amount the first time (HOW?). Claiming that cost of the first item was the amount of the entire order would have been fraudulent! They said that I should contact Discover to modify my dispute through them.

I called Discover and I was able to talk with a real person who reviewed my transactions and the dispute I had filed. They told me that I could not modify my dispute for the first item through them, there was no charge on my account since PayPal had issued the credit for it.

On May 10th I once again was able to continue my chat with PayPal. The next agent could do nothing either. When I asked for a supervisor I was informed that they were busy and could not chat. I then requested a call back and gave my telephone number. It was claimed that I would receive a call, usually within a day (a day-really?). I never heard back from them. I reviewed my caller ID log and my provider's online received calls list covering the next few weeks. Every call was accounted for from people I know or from other companies.

I also reviewed my Discover Card statements for April, May, and June. The original charge, the PayPal credit for the first item, and the Discover credit for the remaining two items (temporary and then permanent) are the only ones on my account. The PayPal reversal of my won dispute never appeared.

After waiting to be contacted for several weeks I have now received a request for payment from a collection agency! PayPal is trying to destroy my excellent credit history! I doubt that I will ever be able to resolve the dispute and remove the charge (for an item that I never received) since PayPal holds all the cards! All I can do is try to warn others not to do business with them and to wish they go out of business soon!

Claimed loss: $32.99

Desired outcome: Either post the charge to my credit card account so I can dispute it through them or remove it so I can then close my PayPal account so I never have to deal with them again.

PayPal Refund

I have been a PayPal user for several years, but my recent experience has left me extremely dissatisfied. On December 27, 2023, I encountered a security issue with my account. Despite reaching out to PayPal's customer service in the UK, US, and Tunisia, the resolution process has been far from satisfactory.

I received conflicting information about the security of my account. Initially, I was assured that my funds were safe and that the issue would be resolved promptly. However, in a recent communication, I was informed that my account was never compromised. This inconsistency has left me frustrated and concerned about the handling of my case.

Moreover, my attempts to follow up via email have gone unanswered, leaving me without updates on the status of the refund process. The lack of clear communication and resolution has been disappointing, especially considering the urgency of the matter.

I urge PayPal to improve its customer service responsiveness and provide consistent information to users facing security issues. As a long-time user, I expected a more efficient and reliable response during this challenging time.

I hope PayPal takes this feedback seriously and works towards enhancing its customer support and security protocols.

Sincerely,

Vishal Gulati

PayPal I am respectfully requesting that the hold on my funds/account be lifted immediately

I am respectfully requesting that the hold on my funds/account be lifted immediately. I do not want this account to remain open nor do I want PayPal services any longer. I have previously requested a review/appeal of my case which was denied for some reason which I do not understand. Regardless, I feel that holding my funds for 180 days for some non-fraudulent violation of PayPal Acceptable Use Policy is excessive and an abuse of power,

I will be filing complaints with the appropriate agencies on February 1, 2024, if I am not satisfied with your response to this request to release my funds.

Please be aware that replying with the standard procedure is part of the terms of service that you agreed to/ will not satisfy my request, or deter me from filing my complaints with the appropriate agencies. I am simply seeking a resolution that is fair and in the best interest of both parties.

PayPal Product

Nov 11, 2023 I purchased (3) Solar Light changing Christmas Trees outdoor Christmas Decorations from INCKWP, CO LTD. I have purchased a few items in the past from this company and was satisfied. On 11/25/23 I checked the status of my purchase on Paypal and did not see any shipping updates so I contacted the Company. They then sent out my Purchase. I figured there was no way the Decorations would not arrive before Christmas at this point and let them know that! The tracking they had provided was not showing any movement so I contacted them again Mid December and received their pat response that the shipment was in Transit and to be patient. Well the items finally arrived Dec 27th! But the items they sent me (2 Jelly fish Lights) were Not what I ordered. I had previously filed a claim, with Paypal, on this purchase for non receipt and provided all the documents they requested. Once I received the Product, I did not order, I changed the Claim to "Not as Described". Paypal supposedly sent the Seller my updated Claim information and stated that the Claim is under review with a Resolution date of 1/17/24. I kept checking, yesterday, to see if they had refunded me? Finally in the afternoon of 1/17 I contacted Paypal by phone to see why they had not resolved this Claim? The Seller did not provide anymore information and so I thought since the Seller did everything wrong on this Transaction there shouldn't be a Problem with me getting my Money Returned to me? But No! Now Paypal is requiring I return these ugly Solar Jelly Fish lights at my Cost in order to receive my Refund! I was a bit pissed when they told me I had to pay to return the WRONG PRODUCT after paying Shipping to receive them? I asked what happened to BUYER PROTECTION apparently that no longer is their policy only Sellers are Protected! Now I have to pay a 3rd of the cost of these P.O. S's to return them to China just to get my Refund and wait the 2 plus weeks on top of it! I will never order anything from China Ever Again and once I get my refund I will Close my Account with Paypal! They SUCK!

PayPal Dispute resolution and customer service

Over the past year, I have had four unresolved issues with receiving substandard and unusable products purchased through PayPal. I have never encountered issues before 2023! NONE of the four disputes were resolved in my favor and I am left with the unusable, totally not as advertised products and not a penny refunded. Not to mention the "resolution process" was dragged out beyond the noted time for resolution.

PayPal Autopay

I never like automatic payments without permission. I might shop something one time or donate one time and in some fine print miss the tiny details where you'll automatically debit it. I went in manually and took those few sneaky creeps off. If I want it, I will clearly set it up. They frequently send changes to my user agreement through email. No changes please. I didn't say you could. Yes somethings do. I don't like being billed twice for tracphone. Regions didn't handle it either. I do hope things get better. I like somethings about paypal but pay close attention to details.

PayPal Financial and customer service

I bought a Denon AVR (receiver) from ebay using PayPal. I had PayPal Credit set as my preferred payment method. PayPal chose to use my bank account to pay for the receiver instead without my authorization. There was not enough money in my bank account to pay for the receiver so I stopped payment from my bank account. PayPal then charged the total to my PayPal account, which had $0.00 available. I don't know why they chose to use an empty account rather than my PayPal Credit account as I instructed. They now claim that I owe them money because the account they used was empty and they paid for the receiver themselves. I understand that it was their money, but had they used the account I selected, there would have been no problem. I do not have the money to give them and I should not have been forced into this position where I now face a collections situation. I spent over a month trying to navigate PayPal's customer service system, which is the worst I've ever experienced. However, not a single person ever disagreed with me about my preferred payment method having been PayPal Credit. I contacted the Ohio Attorney General's office and they contacted PayPal. In their response, PayPal said than my bank account was my preferred payment method. That is a lie There was not enough money in that account in the first place and I bought 2 TVs and 2 receivers in the same time frame, all with my PayPal Credit account. Some things were returned and I kept one of each. I would not have switched to my bank account for one item that cost more than what was in my account. Based on a lie, PayPal has deemed this as a final decision. When two parties are having a dispute, one of those parties cannot be the one to decide who wins the dispute. I have requested voice recording evidence from PayPal and I'm waiting for it now, even though they think this matter is closed. That is not for them to decide.

Claimed loss: $576.18 plus 40 hours @ $75 per hour

Desired outcome: PayPal apologizes to me and drops their request and collections efforts for payment. They return my PayPal accounts to normal and go on about their business, hopefully cleaning up their act and improving their customer service.

PayPal PayPal protection against fraud is nonexistent

Purchased an item online from FaceBook Marketplace, total price $52.98. The item sent to me was not what was advertised. The item advertised was a large articulated eagle with flapping wings. What was sent was not even close (Google search showed same item for $16 at Walmart's website.)

It seems PayPal doesn't protect me from scammers. They still want me to do business with the same people who ripped me off by paying for return shipping to China that costs more than the actual item is worth. I was a victim of fraud and PayPal didn't really do much except make it a long and agonizing process whereby I still lose. So, the only way I can get reimbursed is to ship back the cheap product I did not request and hopefully, only lose half of the purchase price.

Desired outcome: Full refund and they pay return shipping.

PayPal Subject: unjust permanent ban of my paypal account - request for re-activation

Dear Complaints Board,

I am writing to express my complaint regarding the unjust permanent ban placed on my PayPal account without any valid reason. Despite providing all the required documents, my account associated with the email address [protected]@gmail.com remains disabled.

I am deeply disappointed and concerned about this decision. I have always been diligent in complying with PayPal's policies and guidelines, and I have promptly submitted all the necessary documentation as requested. It is disheartening to be subjected to a permanent ban without any explanation or opportunity for resolution.

I kindly request PayPal to review my case and reconsider their decision. The permanent disabling of my account has caused significant inconvenience, impacting my ability to conduct financial transactions and engage in online activities. As a long-standing and responsible PayPal user, I am committed to resolving any concerns and providing further cooperation if needed.

I urge PayPal to thoroughly examine the evidence and documentation I have provided, and to rectify this situation by reinstating my account. I believe in the importance of fairness and transparency, and I trust that PayPal will take this into consideration when re-evaluating my case.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I sincerely hope for a prompt resolution and the restoration of my PayPal account. Should additional information be required, I am readily available to provide it. Your understanding and assistance are greatly appreciated.

PayPal PayPal's Terrible Attitude: A Warning to the Hospitality Industry

This is a true story about real people, and I want to warn all my colleagues in the hospitality industry to avoid using PayPal services if you've ever used them before. It's also about how the "democrats" messed up regular people.

My company is a private accommodation provider in Bali. We rarely accept payments on PayPal, but sometimes we have to because guests prefer to use their credit cards to pay for holidays.

Just last Friday, I issued a PayPal invoice to my customer from Crimea. She authorized her credit card to follow PayPal rules, and she paid by invoice about US$ 6,700. It was a 100% legal and authorized transaction from a 100% authorized PayPal account using their bloody pin codes that you need to find on your bank statement. It's not that easy to pay more than US$ 500 on PayPal, and you need to spend hours of your time and still pay their ridiculous payment commission of 4.4% plus 3.9% exchange commission.

She had no other option to pay for accommodation because nowadays banks in Crimea can't send any payments overseas that exceed US$ 1,000. Sanctions? Against whom, wealthy oligarchs? Western "democracies" $#*!ed nice regular people who want to go on holiday or make some purchases from overseas. I don't know if businesses can pay by their contracts, but my client's bank refused her payment to our 100% legal Indonesian company despite her providing an invoice from us.

Finally, after the client paid, I received a notification from PayPal about the transaction being under review, and it takes about 24 hours to review the transaction and "make a decision." Less than 24 hours later, I received another email from PayPal saying that PayPal is "alerting you to potentially problematic transactions" and "We've completed our review of the transaction below and found the payment may not be authorized by the PayPal account holder or may be the result of suspicious activity. As a result, we've canceled this transaction."

They canceled the payment without asking a question, without asking for proof of payment (we managed to get a Billing Authorization Form and the client's copy of passport and credit card), without taking care of what they do, and without asking us or the client whether this payment is true or not.

PayPal just canceled a US$ 6,700 payment without giving a $#*! about whether it might be an important or urgent payment. In fact, it is urgent because her holiday commences this Wednesday.

Guess what's next? It takes UP TO 30 DAYS to see a refund on the customer's credit card statement.

So, the client accumulated money for a holiday of six people in Bali, spent hours authorizing her credit card, paid the full amount using an authorized credit card, and now she has NO MONEY, and she can't be provided with accommodation.

Well, she booked three villas from us for three consecutive weeks. One villa belongs to our company, and we're happy to place her in our villa without payment while she waits until she can use her money again. But the other two villas belong to someone else, and we can't place her and her family with kids into another two villas without payment.

It's an absurd and ridiculous situation, and PayPal doesn't give a $#*! about what they do. They answered my concern with a very standard email saying they "protect" while nobody asked for their f. Ng protection.

Be careful!

P.S. There are many more stories about the terrible attitude of PayPal that can be found everywhere on the internet, and there is even a "PayPal Sucks" community on Facebook. With a lot of confirmed cases of how PayPal $#*! their clientele.

Take care!

PayPal PayPal Offers Zero Consumer Protection and Enables Scammers: A Review

I recently had a problem with PayPal when a company sent me the wrong item. They demanded that I return the item at my expense, but the shipping cost was way more than the item itself. PayPal refused to help me and claimed that they had to follow the seller's requirements. The seller knew that I wouldn't pay to return the item, so I lost almost $400. This is a common problem with Chinese and other overseas companies who exploit PayPal's policy. They ship out worthless items and demand that customers return them in order to get a refund. My husband fell for one of these scams and received a cheap swimming pool kick board and a child's toy monoscope instead of a foldable kayak and a full-sized sky telescope. PayPal doesn't care that these companies are scamming their customers and claim that it's not their problem because they're just a payment service. They tell you to go through your credit card or bank for any fraud complaints. It's clear that PayPal offers zero consumer protection and enables scammers.

In addition to this, package theft is a huge problem in the US, and PayPal offers no protection for buyers when a package is reported as delivered but is subsequently stolen. I had a $600 package go missing from my front gate, and the merchant refused to reship it. Fed Ex did an investigation and determined that the package was lost or stolen, but the vendor kept putting me off when I requested that it be reshipped. I filed a dispute with PayPal, but the merchant ignored me knowing that PayPal will ignore and then decline any dispute or claim when a merchant has proof of delivery. I escalated to a claim, which was denied, and now I'm stuck. If I had paid with a credit card, the matter would have been found in my favor, and the merchant would have been forced to replace my goods or face the negation of my payment. Dodgy merchants know that PayPal provides no consumer protection against package theft, so they play this delay game. I've requested a new shipment countless times, but now they just ignore me. I'll never see my shipment, and PayPal's customer service was outrageously rude when I complained about this catch 22 in the system. They don't care about loyalty or honesty and offer no protection for their customers.

PayPal Paypal's Lack of Customer Care: My Account Was Closed for a Simple Mistake

I have been a loyal customer of Paypal for over a decade now. As a web designer, I have used Paypal on more than 100 websites and have recommended it to thousands of others. However, my experience with Paypal has taken a turn for the worse recently.

Without any warning or logical reason, Paypal decided to close my account. This decision was a shock to me, as I have never violated their terms or done anything wrong. In fact, I have always promoted the use of Paypal and have used it on numerous websites.

The reason for the abrupt blocking of my account was due to a mistake made by a worker. I was building a website that was not yet live, which contained over 1400 products. Out of these products, there was one single product that was completely legal in Switzerland - a small bottle of under 1% CBD oil. This product was mistakenly sent to the wrong website by a worker through their backend connector. The website was not supposed to have any oil products to begin with, and there were no menu items or ways to find this product. Furthermore, I had never set up Paypal on that website - it was done automatically when I signed up for Shopify, and my email address was configured as the default.

Despite spending many hours calling and explaining the situation to Paypal, their resolution center was of no help. It was frustrating to see that Paypal did not care about its customers and only cared about promotions. After being a loyal promoter of Paypal for over a decade, it was disappointing to see that they could not resolve such a simple issue.

I have concluded that Paypal is destroying itself and getting worse day by day. As a result, I have decided to remove Paypal from over 100 ecommerce websites and replace it with Paysafe and other alternatives. Paypal has lost my respect, and I will never use it again. I never expected such ridiculousness from Paypal, but I guess they have useless workers and no way to resolve simple issues. They simply do not care about their customers.

In conclusion, Paypal closed my account for a complete and clear mistake. I had one single product out of 1400+ that clearly did not belong on the website, was legal, and was never sold using Paypal. Despite my loyalty and years of promoting Paypal, they decided to keep my account closed. I am disappointed with Paypal and would advise others to use anything else but Paypal.

PayPal PayPal's Dishonest Practices: My Account Was Closed Indefinitely and My Reputation Ruined

So, I had some issues with PayPal back in July. I sold a couple of watches, one to the US and one to Taiwan, and my money, which was over $2100, was blocked for 21 days without any explanation. I called PayPal and they said it was just a coincidence and that my payments wouldn't be held anymore. I was waiting for the watches to be delivered and was told that once the buyer left feedback, my money would be released on the second day. The watch was delivered to Taiwan, the buyer left feedback, and even called PayPal in Taiwan to confirm that they received the watch and were happy with it. But when I called PayPal to give feedback, Ryan (549368) was very rude and refused to release my money. My money was still blocked for no reason.

In the meantime, my wife and I used PayPal to send money to family for the purchase of two watches we bought in Thailand and the UK. We used this option because PayPal had blocked my money despite the items being delivered. The next day, I hired a lawyer, Joanne Michalec, to represent me and we called PayPal. After that conversation, my account was restricted and frozen, and a $11500 deposit was assigned for possible complaints about my items for 90 days. I didn't have any open affairs or issues, so I considered it a ploy by PayPal to keep my money and engage in dishonest practices. After my deposit was made, my account was frozen. My lawyer wrote a letter demanding the release of my money, but instead of releasing it, PayPal opened 11 cases against me, my wife, and me. They cancelled the card transaction and suspended all accounts. They returned the money they had kept, but seized it as a return transaction, which caused a negative balance. All of these transactions were legally carried out because PayPal had illegally blocked my own money.

After multiple phone calls (all recorded) and my lawyer's involvement, my account was closed indefinitely. My reputation was ruined, and I can no longer use PayPal or eBay, which is especially painful. I didn't do anything wrong, but I was penalized as if I had. PayPal engages in dishonest practices, and I will either reinstate my account or pursue arbitration. If necessary, I will sue PayPal for discrimination and dishonest practices, and I will cover all the costs of arbitration with pleasure. I was repeatedly cheated by their consultants, and I have recordings of those conversations.

I hope someone from PayPal will address my complaint and reinstate my account. I want to sell and buy as before. Neither PayPal nor eBay had any issues with me or my transactions, and there was no reason for them to close my account. My wife and the buyer immediately confirmed the veracity of all the transactions, and I have documentation to prove it. I recently had a heart attack, and this situation with PayPal is causing me undue stress during my recovery. If they refuse to settle my case, I will pursue arbitration or a court order. Joanne Michalec will represent me if possible, or I will hire a lawyer in my state. I will cover all costs. I don't expect much, just to have my rights restored and the absurd restrictions lifted.

PayPal PayPal Review: Disappointed with Customer Support and Ruling in Favor of Seller

I've been a fan of PayPal for a while now. I've even recommended it to my friends as a way to keep their credit card information safe. However, my recent experience with them has left me feeling disappointed.

Let me tell you what happened. I have a motorized bicycle, and I needed a new carburetor. I found one on a website called gasbike.net and contacted their support team. The guy I spoke to assured me that the carburetor would fit my motor and that it would be better than the one I had. So, I placed an order. However, after a week, I still hadn't received a shipping notification. I started to look elsewhere and found the same carburetor I had on my motor. I contacted gasbike.net again and asked when they planned on shipping. They told me it would be another five days, so I decided to cancel my order. I received an email confirming the cancellation, and I ordered the carburetor from another website, which shipped out the same day.

A few days later, I received an updated shipping notice from gasbike.net. I contacted them again, but it wasn't easy to get through to them. I tried calling, but I was on hold forever. The live chat wasn't working, and half of my emails bounced back because their mailbox was full. Eventually, I got through to them and explained that I had canceled my order and that I wasn't going to pay for the carburetor. They didn't reply.

So, I contacted PayPal and got connected to someone in India. They checked my order and found that it hadn't been shipped yet, but they had charged me for it. I asked them to prevent the shipment as it had been canceled. They opened a ticket and told me to wait ten days while they contacted the seller.

After ten days, I logged into PayPal and found that they had ruled in favor of the seller. However, they had listed the problem as "item not as described," which wasn't the issue. The item had been canceled before it was shipped, and the seller had confirmed that. I called PayPal again and got connected to someone in India. I asked for a supervisor, but I got cut off. I tried again and was connected to someone in Texas. I explained the issue, and they put me on hold. When they came back, I was connected to someone in India again.

I was frustrated by this point. I asked them to reopen the case, but not as "not as described." Instead, I wanted it listed as "shipped even after it was canceled." The seller expected me to ship the item back at my cost, but I wasn't going to do that. I said that if they sent me a prepaid return slip, I would be happy to send it back, but I wasn't going to pay for it when I never should have received it in the first place. PayPal asked me for proof, which I sent them in the form of screenshots of emails showing that the item had been canceled.

Despite all of this, PayPal ruled against me. I'm now stuck with a part I don't need or want. Since the company is so hard to communicate with, I'm better off keeping it or selling it on eBay.

The bottom line is that I used PayPal for the extra level of security, but this experience has shown me that it's beyond useless now. My bank would have reversed the charge, but since I used PayPal, they couldn't. The support team was also unhelpful, and I had trouble communicating with them. Overall, I'm disappointed with PayPal, and I won't be using them again.

PayPal My Experience with PayPal: Scammed on eBay and Frustrated with Customer Service

PayPal is a popular online payment platform that has been around for many years. It is a convenient way to send and receive money, and it is widely used by people all over the world. However, there are some scammers out there who use PayPal to take advantage of unsuspecting buyers. I recently had a bad experience with a seller on eBay who used PayPal to scam me out of my money.

I was looking to buy a Funko Pop figure/toy online, and I came across a listing that looked like a great deal. The seller had posted pictures of the figure with an official San Diego Comic Con label, and they claimed that it was an exclusive item that was hard to find. I was excited to buy it, and I paid $38.99 for the figure.

However, when the figure arrived, I realized that I had been scammed. The label on the box was not the official San Diego Comic Con label, but a cheaper retail label that would be available in stores for $10-$20. The seller had used misleading photos and descriptions to trick me into buying a cheap item for a high price.

When I tried to contact the seller to ask for a refund, they became hostile and threatened me. They told me that I would never get my money back, and that they had already spent it. I was scared and frustrated, and I didn't know what to do.

I contacted PayPal to try to resolve the issue, but I had a hard time getting through to them. The first representative I spoke to didn't seem to understand the problem, and they opened a case that was not relevant to my situation. I had to speak to several different representatives before I finally found someone who could help me.

Even then, the process was slow and frustrating. The seller had until the day of the convention to send the false item, and I had to wait for weeks to see if they would actually send it. In the end, the case was closed because it was a pre-order, and I was left out of pocket with no way to get my money back.

This experience has left me feeling disillusioned with PayPal. While I understand that they are a large company with many customers, I feel like they could do more to protect their users from scammers. It shouldn't be so difficult to get a refund when you have been clearly scammed, and it shouldn't take so long to resolve a case.

Overall, I would not recommend using PayPal for online purchases. While it may be convenient, it is not worth the risk of being scammed. There are other payment platforms out there that offer better protection for buyers, and I will be using them in the future.
