I went for a tour and purchased a one year sampler. The agent did not disclose that by doing so I am prevented from acquiring a membership transfer. The phone agent said "we are not in the business of assisting in transfers". This makes their claim of transfer all but useless.

In May of 2019 we were offered a chance to win “great” prizes. So we scheduled an appointment to go down and we were put through the sales pitch for 2 hours before we could even try for the truck they had on their giveaway. I don’t think anyone won the truck, by the way. We walked out of there with an $12,000.00 debt and the only “prizes” we got were $25-$50 gift cards for stores we never heard of and you still had to pay money to use those. So basically we won debt. This place is a scam, they also told us at the end that we also had to pay $400 every 6 months for maintenance fees, we had to pay maintenance fees for something we never used. Then they only let you cancel 3 days after purchase, but don’t tell you that (it’s in the tiny print you can only read with a magnifying glass). We talked to someone that told us that we could cancel after paying for 2 years, no strings attached. Then 4 years later they sold the debt and now we are getting sued. This place is a scam.

We entered a drawing to win a free truck at a mall... that's how this nightmare started. We were so excited to get a key in the mail, all we had to do was sit through a presentation and then try to start the truck to see if we had one.

Well, like timeshare sales people do, we were completely duped. We were told that it was going to be under $200 a month, such a great deal, fees don't go up, blah blah blah...

Turns out that was such a lie, they actually sign you up for two credit cards, now you're $25,000+ in debt to a credit card...

After the intitial 0% interest for 6 months (our bill was a little over $200) it jumped to 24% interest and were getting charged more in interest than what we could afford to pay per month since the minimum payment jumped way up.

After financial crisis, lots of tears, not being able to sell it, or even GIVE IT AWAY, we were stuck in this nightmare. We were smart enough to get a personal loan to pay off the credit cards at a lower interest rate but it's still over $300 a month.

Fees still rise, when you don't get your bill they say oh well you have a late fee nothing we can do about it...

I wish I never signed up for that raffle, never in my life will I make that mistake again. I wish I knew what was going on with the lawsuit.

I so want out of my contract. I cannot afford it anymore. We have to make the decision between eating and medication. With Layouts, mounting bills and now increase in living and food, we have to make the decision to let this go. I am so unhappy and when I spoke with this company a few years back it was "Sorry Ma'am pay the note." Well the option of deferring to have it still looming over your head for years to come is not helping but putting more stress on your shoulders. Not Happy Not happy at all. I hate I got myself into this. Pandemic purchase. Bad move. I have not missed a payment and I now have to take the hit.

I find myself completely disappointed in the membership and lack of customer service. I had some major life changes occur causing financial strain. After calling to make a payment, I was told it had to be paid through a third party and after that was completed, I could call back and ask if I was still a member. There was no room for discussion, no options given. I didn't receive written correspondence prior, and no verbal communication made. For as much of a financial investment as this membership is, one would think that they would want to work out details and get an account brought to current status. I distinctly recall the stress the salesman made regarding this being a family establishment and how they strive to make their families feel happy. Now I am left feeling totally disappointed and discouraged. Instead of recommending this establishment for family fun, I would strongly discourage anyone from being sucked into their lies and misleading information.

I asked to be put back on old contract cause I could afford it we got tricked into a upgrade that did nothing but up my price. I had life tragedy and almost lost my son and still going thru a lot he was on life support for over a month and I explained several times but they only said fill out paperwork hippa doesn’t allow me to do so and I don’t want your program it doesn’t give us any discounts you took over 8k from us and still want another 12k it’s too much for what my upgrade did nothing anytime you book you don’t get what you want or even the discounts for the coast to coast this is a joke ugh so disappointed 58569 is membership Sharon Lewin

I would give this a 0 if I could! This establishment is a SCAM. I won a giveaway for 7 days of camping at any Outdoor Adventures Resort and was told I had one year from the date I received the prize (October 2021 for reference) to use the camping vouchers. When I called to make my reservation (July 2022), I was told that the prize was “no longer valid“ because they had “changed some policies” since I had won and tent campers were no longer allowed to use the vouchers! When I asked to speak to a manager they said one would call me back right away. An entire week went by with no call, so I called again and received the same response that “someone would get back right away.” Needless to say this went on for weeks and I have STILL NOT received a call. I am absolutely furious and completely blown away at their lack of communication, pure violation of a prize contract (yes, I read the fine print), and the lack of decency that this company has shown me. I‘m a big camper, hiker, mountain biker, climber, kayaker, and outdoor enthusiast who is extremely involved in the outdoor community, and I will make sure to make every person I know aware of this scam of a company so that they (and everyone they know) do no make the mistake of booking with them.

Horrible deceiving company. Nothing at all like what we signed up for. Please think very carefully before falling fir their sales pitch. They say what will make them sound like it's a wonderful place. The reality is it's horrible and the sales pitch is full of things not true. They change the rules of contract and we are stuck.. $400 for maintenance yet the lakes and beaches full of garbage. Docks have broken and missing boards. There are very few boats working. The others are just piled up on shore not working. We can't drive thru the campground and chose our site. It's now assigned to us sight unseen. The visitor policy has changed. So many more things that are different. Please be careful if considering buying a membership. Their sales pitch is simply not true.

Recently upgraded our membership, sold us on it because of being able to use another source of hotels nationwide, besides campgrounds. We were given 12 days to cancel membership upgrade but did not receive information about this service until about a month after said purchase. Now we learn that there is a yearly “fee” attached to this service and if we want to use this we need to pay the yearly fee. If not used every year and let’s say four years down the road we want to use it again, we have to pay for the last four years “fees” to keep us up to date to use the program. What a farce. We were not told of any “yearly fee” that had to be paid for each service being upgraded to.

Also, inquired about getting membership identification cards twice. Sent us one general one in the mail. When we upgraded they took our pictures and were told each of us needed a photo ID. They never sent us a photo ID. I wrote an email to the general website address about the photo ID cards, never received a response. I then wrote to another email address pertaining to resolving issues, no response from them either. Then I called the main office and a gal said, if you email me your photos I will make sure you get photo ID’s. Finally, we got membership cards with a photo on it. Only took thousands of dollars, countless methods of communication and four years, but we did receive our photo ID cards. Absolutely pitiful customer service.

Well to start when we went like everyone else says they bring u in about winning a truck. Of course u don't. Then they throw the sales pitch which at the time sounded good. We of course asked r million questions since we r campers and then the first time we called to reserve a site for ourselves and r friends right then and there started it. I was told I couldn't reserve one for my friends until 3 days prior. That was one of r important questions. Then we couldn't even pick r spot so u drive around at 5 miles an hour to find a site. Was told my yearly dues would never go up, well they have. Now if u reserve a site on line there is a $5.00 charge and u can never get a water site. And just today( [protected]) my son and his friends went camping there and just informed me that they r charging $5.00 per car per day for parking. Really. What is r yearly dues for that keep going up. When I try to call to talk about something they always tell me I have to call this person cuz they don't handle it. I want out so I can once, just once go somewhere and enjoy camping and don't have to worry about paying for what's not worth it nor my time.

We were pressured into buying and lied to. Told we wouldn't have to pay maintenance fees until we actually camped. That was a lie. Two months after signing for this I had a heart attack and now am disabled. I can not afford this any more. I have never camped. I really need help. Lured us in with chance to win truck, pressured us and we didn't even own a camper. It is so wrong to take advantage of older people. I don't want any money back, just want out.

We purchased a membership after the salesman badgered us enough and guaranteed us our membership would be transferable to our kids, that our membership would allow us to rent condos all over the world, that we could easily get reservations all over the USA, and that we could rent cabins for family to come camp. Good luck ever getting in when YOU want to go! We have yet to ever stay one night! Our membership was paid in full, an we are still being charged maintenance fees, even after trying to talk to an agent informing them we will not ever be staying with them! We will never stay here nor would we recommend them ever!
My husband spoke with yet another person on 2/24/21 after leaving several voicemails. She told my husband we needed to are the 4.5 hr trip one way to the office to discuss it. He set up the appointment, she asked for his email address. Then my husband received an email... I quote
"render: the primary members who appear on your contract must be present at the meeting so we can renew your membership cards before they expire" end quote. Typed in bold print!
I called 2/24/21 I called and spoke to the lady that answer the phone, told her what was going on that we would not be going down for yet another badgering sales session, that we did NOT want to renew the membership we already paid for. She said I should to talk to a supervisor so she transferred me to Marcy and as usual I had to leave a voicemail to witch she has never replied.
I'm also sending this complaint to BBB and the Attorney General's office

We bought this membership years ago. After just 2 weeks we wanted out. I got sick. Well, as the sale person told us it would be easy, it wasn't. We have to find the buyer, then they do all the paper work and for a fee, of course. We took a loan to get lower interest to pay it off. But the maintenance fees remain.
So it's been years, we can't sell it. I was seriously sick and off work few times and we have to pay the maintenance fees, I had to put other bills to the side to make payments. We hardly use it cause it's hard to get the dates we want.
I seriously hope you can help us. You're our last hope! Please help!

I've been a member since 2015 and since day one there's been issues. When we went for the tour and so called raffle to win a truck needles to say we did sign up because we do love camping. We always camp with are best friends and had asked them numerous times if it would be a problem for them to vamp with us and we were told, no problem. So the first time we were going to camp, went to make the reservation for 2, they told me I couldn't make there's until 3 days prior. Of course I blew a nut. Then asked to reserve a site they said the don't take them, when we arrive we drive around to look for one. I said really, drive around with a huge camper. We were never told that. I was told it was all in the rules. I said I pay all this money and I can't reserve a site. I rented a cottage, and it was filthy, all the doors on the fridge were broke so I had to go by a small cooler for extra stuff, toilet was broke, pots and pans the ones they did have in there were burnt so bad I couldn't cook my kids breakfast and when and brought it to there attention they brought me 1 small frying pan down. I was there for a week stay and there was one problem after another and when I asked them what they were going to do to compensate me, he told me he could get us pizza, I said I don't like pizza, I want money off my bill. He couldn't do that so tired of arguing with him so pizza no bread sticks it was, but it was from the parks resuraunt, so he wasn't even paying for it and I had to pay for bread sticks and go pick it up. Never could get sites by the water, which we were told we could. There is just to many negativity about them, and when we had to get our new cards we had to drive far to get them and gave them apiece of my mind but apparently went no where cuz I never heard nothing. Tried getting out of the membership, but have no luck. Said our yearly dues would never go up, but they do. I never knew anything could be done. We enjoy camping, but they are a big headache. Driving around to find a campsite is just ridiculous. I hope to hear back from someone with some good news. Thank you for your time.
