I have everything good to say about Ostvig Tree Inc. From the quote process to the completion of the project, Jon carried through with exactly as he stated would be done. They arrived on the scheduled day; crew was excellent in every way. A great job by this company. I highly recommend them for any of your tree or landscape needs. I will definitely use them in the future.

Ostvig provides real expertise and outstanding service. Their quotes are spot on, they provide timely service and truly understand the issues and problems they might confront. They provide a detailed report of what they plan to do, what they actually did do and all at an affordable and fair price. Also very responsive-if you call them they respond very quickly. I would highly recommend them.

The crew did a FANTASTIC job! They felled a 60 plus year old Silver Maple with three trunks that had become a squirrel condo at a very reasonable price. This tree towered over my living room, and was scary during storms. They also trimmed up two other Silver Maples in my back yard. The work was done in four hours, and they left the area cleaned up. Plus, they were all nice, polite guys! I definitely recommend them for professional residential tree work.

Ostvig Tree Care did a fantastic job! There was a lot of trimming on many very large trees, much of which was done in very tight quarters. They were able to maneuver in and around the trees and cut large branches without harming any building structures or landscaping. The workers were friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful of the property. The price was very reasonable and was less then the quoted estimate. I will be using them again and highly recommend their service!

Ostvig Tree Care is exceptional. Professional, understanding, immediate service. I needed some trees to be tested for disease and have them write a letter of the trees being healthy in order to sell my house. One tree needed to be taken down. The turn over time from my initial call to the letter arriving and the diseased tree being taken down was so prompt - all during a very busy time in the tree season. Clear concise information, great rates, quick and efficient service. Highly recommend.

Ostvig Tree Care did a great job in removing several large trees, trimming and pruning other large trees, doing 2 large tree stump removals, and 5 emerald ash borer treatments. It was a two day process. Russ was very helpful in setting up the project and their crew was very courteous. They also laid down plywood on our concrete driveway to protect the large trucks from damaging the driveway. Their crew also did a great job of cleaning up before leaving our property. I would highly recommend them.

Ostvig Tree Care has done fantastic work for us several times over the past 3 years! Russ and his crew are awesome! They recently came last month after a big storm had broken a large maple tree branch that was hanging precariously near the neighbor's house. They came out the same day and removed it. They'll be back this month to remove the entire maple and grind the stump. I trust them completely and will call no one else for all of our tree related issues. The crew was amazing! They were on time, professional and courteous. They were 2 of the most hard working people I have ever dealt with. They actually cared about their work! They left my yard in better shape than it was before they started the job. I have already passed the Ostvig name to my family and friends. Also, the sales rep (Josh) who came out to my house was honest and very professional. He listened as I explained what I needed and he offered helpful input. He also answered all of my questions. It was a pleasant experience from beginning to end! Thank you! Its so nice to deal with people who care about doing a great job. They exceeded my expectations!

Russ has been out to the house at least three times to prune our Linden trees. He is very knowledgeable and interesting to talk to. He has helped to shape our trees so that they don't grow over our sundeck and always makes sure to get all of the dead wood out. The last time the Ostvig tree trimmers were out to the house, they came before the trees had leafed out, so when the trees finally budded, we could see that more needed to be done to the trees. Russ sent a crew out that week to finish up the pruning at no extra charge. He just wanted to make sure we were happy with the work . . . AND we are. Thanks so much for your help over the years. I would highly recommend Ostvig Tree Care.

Don't waste your time. We have a tree fungus on our Maple tree and was hoping someone could take a look and let us know. We contacted Osttvig in mid-August and was told someone would call us back to book a free estimate at our house. It has been over a month and 4 phone calls by me and I still have not received a call back from one of there "professionals" as promised by the person that took my call. Another company returned my call promptly and had someone out within a week to diagnose our tree problem and let us know options. Ostvig came to us highly recommended by others. however, they simply don't value your business enough to even call you back. Save your time and try another company that will give you the time of day.

As a new homeowner, I have 3 mature blvd trees with long, dead branches facing the house, which concerned me during windy storms. Josh provided a thorough bid: informed me of the type of trees (ash); their history and growth cycle. How the city will prune the overhang of blvd-facing branches. Informed me on the current status of Emerald ash disease growth / spread in Plymouth and recommended a treatment, which we will start in Spring 2022. Submitted a detailed bid on the pruning and removal of dead branches for Jan. 2022. Very affordable and they completed the project ahead of schedule and on budget. Arrived home from work that day and there was easily a noticeable difference with the lack of heavy, low-hanging branches. A much needed haircut for the trees and I'm much more educated on the proper care of my trees. Definitely recommend, if even to have just a consultation.

Ostvig Tree Service met all of my expectations. They informed me of my responsibilities which included contacting my cable company and others to "drop" lines to allow for the Tree Service's equipment. They worked directly with the Electrical Service provider to coordinate temporarily moving the electrical line. They also prepared me for the possibility that my yard might experience some damaged due to the weather warming and the ground likely being soft and wet. As promised, Ostvig provided plywood boards to protect the ground and damage was practically nonexistent . I don't like to comment about price because I think everything costs too much, but the City (Minneapolis) required that I have my Ash trees removed and the City had gotten bids. I didn't know all of the bid prices but Ostivig pricing was competitive and better than at least one of the City bidders (I don't think Ostvig was a City bidder). I knew of Ostvig Tree Service as I had used them a few years ago. I called them this year because I was pleased with their previous work. Moreover, I had recommended them to one of my neighbors after my initial work with them and would do so again after this most recent work.

I had a really odd ash tree that was planted between my house and neighbors. I hated it and was constantly worried about it falling, dying of disease or all sorts of tree related things. Scheduling to have that tree removed with stump removal, two trees trimmed and treated was super easy. The business took care of all necessities to ensure that the process would go smoothly. Such as calling my electric company to drop the lines and attach again. They also attached any other lines like cable and phone back up to my property. They took care to clean my yard and sidewalks and it looked great with minimal saw dust. The stump removal was great and aside from an indent in the ground, you'd hardly notice that a tree use to be there. I'm super glad I hired out with Ostvig Trees. They came right on time and was done with my work request within 2-3 hours. So much quicker than I expected. I love the extra sunlight after the trees were pruned and I can finally grow grass in the area where the removed tree and branches use to be. My trees are clean looking now and I don't have to worry about them for a while. I recommend Ostvig Trees to those looking for professional and competent tree work.

We are extremely happy with the service Ostvig provided in Feb 2022. When I first contacted Russ, he made an appt for the next day to look at the job and provide an estimate. We needed a large dead oak tree, in the middle of a small woods in our backyard, taken out. My husband and I were particularly concerned about limiting damage to the other trees around it. We also wanted the work done in Jan or Feb when the yard was frozen. Russ's estimate was very reasonable, especially in comparison to past tree work we had done by other companies. A crew of 4 guys came to take out the tree. They had a lift, front loader and stumper grinder. They took the tree out section by section. using the lift. With each section they cut off, they placed it on the lift basket, turned the basket so it was out over the yard, and dropped it to the ground without damaging any surrounding trees. Crew on the ground used the front loader to move the logs to their truck on the street. Once the oak tree was down, they ground out the oak stump and another stump from an elm we had removed the year before by another company. Our son had recommended Ostvig based on work they had done for him in Sept 2021. I have since recommended Ostvig to my nephew who needs a tree removed.

Luther S Russ is very slow to respond to any communication and not very thorough or clear which resulted in a misunderstanding and eventually to their refusal to do the work. Russ originally visited, reviewed the work and gave a verbal quote which we agreed to pay. The work to be done was to trim several trees around the house and to remove 3 trees. 6 days later we received the quote. I immediately signed and returned the agreement with a note added that I assumed that the tree removal included the removal of the stumps (which was not noted in the agreement). When I still had not received any response a week after returning the agreement with the notes, I sent another email that I was concerned about the lack of response to my emails. He did reply to that email and said he needed to visit again to actually see the other trees that I wanted to have removed. At that time, he did not mention my note saying that I expected the stumps to be removed also. 6 days after the 2nd visit, I received the revised quote. This quote noted the chipping of some stumps but not 2 of the ones on the original quote. I added a note that I expected those 2 trees to include chipping and signed and returned the quote. The next day he replied that we had not discussed the removals of those stumps and they could do that but it would require added cost. I sent an email explaining why I felt we had talked about it and pointed out that he had not objected to my note on the original quote. He then emailed that he would not do the work at all. I immediately replied that I wanted them to do the work and that I would pay for the chipping of the 2 stumps in question. He did not have the courtesy of responding or acknowledging that email. So, we were left in the lurch a month after I thought we had an agreement. Very disappointing!
