Novotel, Gare Montparnasse Paris. 23-27th Dec 2025. The hotel bore little resemblance to the featured images on their website. The hotel lobby is downbeat and way too casual for a 4 star hotel. The executive room was freezing cold ( air con and heating not working ), heavily stained lounge chair, thick black mould in bathroom, broken light switch and s broken bed leg.
On complaining, no hotel management were available. Receptionist attended and supplied a fan heater and mentioned the hotel heating had been broken for a long time. He mentioned mould was an issue due to lack of bathroom ventilation.
I was offered a potential room change the next morning though that option failed to materialise due to staff change over and lack of communication.
On the Beach were difficult to contact and were dismissive of issues I had raised. When I asked to change hotels, they threw obstacles in my way and painted a difficult process which may have been financially risky to myself.
On the beach have offered me a £50 voucher against a holiday cost of £1627… that I feel is derisory. I have now contacted my credit card provider who are helping with a chargeback.
Recommendation: Do not use On The Beach.
