I’ve been an active user on Nextdoor for a long time, and recently I started posting about a local issue that was trending heavily in my area. Everyone around me was talking about it, but I wasn’t part of the main group driving the conversation. I simply added my own perspective — one that supported the topic — while most of the nearby users were strongly against it.
The moment I published my first post, everything changed. It’s like a switch flipped. Ever since that day, every single thing I post gets hit with false reports. It doesn’t matter what the content is — even harmless updates like weather alerts or safety notices get flagged. And once the reports pile up, I get banned again and again, sometimes within minutes.
What makes it worse is what I see in the emails Nextdoor sends me. In the report notes, users are literally writing things like “silence him.” They’re not even hiding it. They’re openly using the reporting system as a weapon to shut me down because they don’t like my viewpoint. And the platform seems to act on those reports without any real review, which means I’m stuck in a cycle of false flags, bans, and appeals.
At this point, it feels less like moderation and more like targeted suppression. I’m being mass‑reported not because I’m breaking rules, but because a group of users disagrees with me and wants me removed from the conversation entirely. It’s frustrating, unfair, and honestly exhausting to deal with every time I try to participate.
Recommendation: USE X instead.
