I helped to found Next Door DC and have served as a moderator for 16 years. I wrote an entry about the increase of crime and lawlessness in DC. Someone objected and my account was disabled for a month. There was no notification or due process including the right to defend. They state my entry violated their illusory guideline of "being nice to your neighbor." They refuse to state what word or phrase is objectionable so I can avoid using it in the future.

This website allowed a group of stalkers to publicly defame me when I was documenting my organized stalking case. I have to snap pictures of their illegal stalking behavior, but it allowed a stalker to complain about me doing this legal act. It allowed people her friends, who weren’t my neighbors to imply I was a criminal, mentally unstable, a thief, and that anyone who came across me should pack a gun and carry pepper spray merely because I took pictures. They tried to get to community to take pictures of me, post them, dox me, yell at me, and automatically assume I was a criminal simply because I am a victim of targeted harassment.

I've been a moderator on nextdoor.com for a number of years and am now going to delete my account. The reason being, they don't back up their mods nor do they pay attention to what's going on i.e. mods don't follow guidelines and rule on reported content from their own feelings/opinions. This is leading to censorship, bullying by mods themselves and one sided points of view. Add to that, most of their moderator "training" is full of woke, marxist ideology rather than common sense solutions on how to handle reported content to bring the community together.

I was recently suspended for three days for stating an opinion about another members comments and for agreeing with another member who pointed out the hypocrisy of some members comments. My comment to him was simply "Hypocrisy abounds". This was one example they used to justify a suspension. Another member berated and belittled a fellow moderator who asked a simple and valid question. This member not only called for the moderator to be fired but then created a new post complaining specifically about said moderator. Don't know if that member faced review or received a suspension because I can't get into my account to see. I did read that he wished bad things to happen to the other moderator and myself.

I've included screenshots of a conversation with support that clearly shows they are not prepared to give clear and concise answers/reasons to questions about being suspended. Instead, they give vague answers while hiding behind their guidelines...which is NOT an acceptable way to respond. Further, in the email from support the person states that they previously warned me about the comments I made a day before I questioned the suspension. I did not receive any such notification/warning as the suspension occurred the same day the comments were posted. So either this person is confused or just outright lying.

Complaint about Reviewer Serafim Reppas

The liberal Reviewer Serafim is constantly harassing me and calling me derogatory names. It is downright abusive and it’s online stalking.

Many of posts and comments get censored without cause. Conservatives myself and others are constantly being targeted. Nextdoor is not a safe space for a woman.

It was shocking to join the NextDoor Cape May, NJ online community and almost immediately feel bullied for offering a one-sentence support of a community official. It was the Review Team Lead that was dominating all discussion forums and arguing with those who had different opinions. I defended someone who was being targeted with verbal attacks and then I also became the victim of constant harassment, bullying, insults and ridicule. In addition to the Team Lead, there were at least three other Review Team members conducting the bullying (behaving like followers of the Team Lead) and most were seniors, retirees, old people in their 70's, which was shocking.

Some people complained about their neighbors, providing an exact location of the home, and then others stated that they were willing to go over there and harass that neighbor. The Lead and Review Team did not remove these posts or comments, although requests were made. A neighbor exposed violence occuring at a restaurant, and comments focused on attacking that whistleblower. Nothing was done to remove threatening comments.

It is a very toxic, hostile and dangerous site and either the Lead and Review Team needs to be replaced, or that discussion forum needs to be shut down.

I got suspended for four days ( supposed to be three? ) one of my comments removed was me repeating what someone else had posted to me, another was me asking someone who in answer to my question repeated her original post so I asked if she was a bot. I had flagged the same post (different versions) of a man selling puppies. He was allowed to repost at least 4 times with no issue. The final time I flagged it got notification that it wasn’t going to be removed so I appealed and it was quickly removed, one of the choices was why did I think it needed to be appealed I checked someone’s beliefs or opinions. As soon as that post was removed all the sudden I started getting comments hidden from posts days before. Think I made someone angry so they decided to have me suspended for bullying by bullying me. I realize politics is part of the reality here but this was clear retaliation. Not ok

Would like tech support from nextdoor to contact me as to why my personal account ( of 10 years) was deactivated but not my business page. Have tried setting up a new account it will not allow me to do so as it shows I already have an account , I have tried their online help site ( no one has responded) called and left a message at [protected] no return call or email. Horrible way to run a business

I am filing a complaint because the people that act as the moderators and are on the review team for Nextdoor along with the people in their corportate office randomly apply the guidelines for their Community Standards depending on who it is but they do not hold Everyone to the same Community Standards. They also allow people to post information that is not true and is basically propaganda to promote certain political beliefs. They also allow people to cyber stalk people and allow people to report posts that are posted in political groups where they are supposed to be posted because the person reporting them does not agree with the point of view even though the person is not a member of the group and have allowed on person to cyberstalk and harass members of that political group since April. And have suspended people's accounts based on that person reporting the post even though it was posted in the group it belonged and nothing else was wrong with the post or comment. They allow this same person to post comments that are untrue and promote conspiracy theories. And other people post other things that are untrue as well. But they do all this selectively and Never are consistent by holding Everyone to following the same guidelines and Community Standards.

My account is now suspended once again for 30 days after just coming off of a 30 day suspension for posting the American Flag as my pride flag. They claim I'm being disrespecting. How is posting the American Flag being Disrespectful. They also claim that I'm discriminating. Sorry I'm the one that feels that I'm being discriminated for showing pride in Our Country. I had asked for a review as to why my post was taken down . Instead of a reply I'm suspended once again for 30 days. If you post anything that is considered against the moderators views which are not conservative then you are suspended.

This is the third time I've been suspended for a month. This time I was not even provided an opportunity to have my post reviewed. The post is a political discussion board and as such have advised people to mute or block me on this board or remove me from this one board. This board is run by a group of individuals that have an agenda that includes banning anyone they believe does not disagree with their opinion or point of view. I've blocked many people on the board, however, the moderators use the people that are not blocked to make derisive comments. This board should be shut down if it cannot act in compliance with its own guidelines. I feel that I've been targeted as an older person with a true moral compass. This is wrong, and I will continue to pursue every avenue to present this unjust social abuse.

Nextdoor is very biased to conservatives that use this app. The users harass, call us derogatory names as well. One “reviewer” actually “liked” a comment where a friend was called a bigot by a liberal for absolutely no reason. They suspended my friend for a reason that was completely invalid. This is a common pattern on Nextdoor of suspending users especially conservatives for unjustified reasons. Meanwhile the behavior of liberals goes untouched even though they harass and get downright abusive in their personal attacks.

I recently asked a question to my neighbors about a documentary and what they thought of the documentary. I wanted to have a discussion on the topic. I was harassed and accused of being a qanon which I’m not. They started posting all kinds of false information that was off topic. I finally had to delete the post. Then I got a notice it was removed after I removed it. Nothing but hatred and harassment on Nextdoor. Stay Away!

I had solar panels installed last year (2022) by Our World Energy. Everything was fine until the enormous snowfall Flagstaff experienced this past winter. The snow on my roof avalanched off and destroyed my neighbor's fence. I have attempted to contact Our World Energy with a request to move the solar panels to the opposite side of the roof without success. I indicated that I was willing to pay to have the solar panels moved to the other side of the house so that future damage would not occur to anyone's property. I left a daily voice mail message from 6/22 - 6/30 without any response from the company. Apparently, Customer Service with Our World Energy ends with the installation. Very disappointing.

I have had my account disabled indefinitely for a second time, right after having served a year suspension. I get constantly attacked, harassed, belittled and bullied simply for stating an opinion different from the like minded groupthink that is NextDoor. I try to moderate my own comments to make sure they are OK and delete some that may be controversial and yet I get suspended. I don't get it and maybe never will. I am tired of always never knowing if what I am saying will get me kicked off NextDoor or not. It is very exhausting and wrong. I have no idea what to do but try and get my account reinstated. I don't understand the mods and there is never consistency at all. I am at my wit's end.

I am getting ready to get an attorney and sue! You are constantly blocking me when I am the one being attacked! Shanna Parks In Rockledge Fl even told me she hoped I died because I have sever asthma! She just had me blocked again her and another women because I questioned if the donation money was going to the recipient and not in their pocket!

You should block both party's when one complains against the other and it will prevent lies from being told! I am so sick of this [censored]! And yes I wouls say that to my neighbor.

I asked one time where all the smoke in the area was coming from and I got blocked for that. I am not in this alone their are others right with me and maybe we will start a class action lawsuit against you. Shannon Parks is nothing more then a Jucking Bullie and I am sick of it. I wrote her personally to discuss the issue and she turned around and posted it to face book! NOW CHANGE the rules and see how many complaints you get! It takes two to cause a problem!~! And next door neighbor isnt to attack your neighbor or to raise money!

I keep seeing original (not replies) NextDoor posts 1, 2, 3 days after they are posted. These are posts that were made on one day but do not show on ND until a couple days later. Once we see some of the news such as warnings, etc. it's too late. What's going on? We don't want to see old, outdated news that is time sensitive.

I have been posting to the app for some time now. I have just yesterday been the target of harassment by whomever is the administrator of the app over a post that was not an acceptable view of other members on the app. I was publicly shamed by a few other members of next door on my post and reported the comments with zero response from the administrator. I have noted though that the administrator has muted almost all of my comments and even deleted and then reactivated my account without my knowledge. I feel like I am being targeted by the administrator for a personal issue that I am unaware of

For years I have been complaining to Nextdoor about bullying and biased leads removing my posts (which are withing te guidelines) but leaving up the unpleasant, disrespectful and bullying posts.

It has now got to the stage that Nextdoor simply does not respond to my messages and complaints.

If you want to talk about fluffy kittens, this is the site for you. If you enjoy being bullied and defamed, go right ahead and join.

If you wish to be treated with equality, fairness and courtesy - stay well clear.

I have no clue which Offense I committed, which isn't fair at all. I want them to reinstate me ASAP. I will be reporting this to the BBB of Florida.

My account was disabled for “misinformation “ according to NextDoor administration. I have written nothing containing misinformation. It is simply my opinion. NextDoor censors any statement that is contrary to their liberal philosophy. I never see the liberals on there disappear. What else should we expect from SF based app? The suspension happened on March 20, 2023.

We in Hemet CA, Valle Hermosa HOA community, find ourselves under the thumb of people controlling our posts. The two of them work for and/or with the HOA. This, to us, is a blatant conflict of interest. They allow no criticisms of the HOA’s Board of Directors. They do not allow the residents to communicate with each other via the Nextdoor platform, our concerns, fears, and anxieties, for which the Valle Hermosa B of D is responsible.

We do not know how or who appointed them the gatekeepers of Nextdoor. They abuse our right to speak our minds, without vulgarities or threats, on a public site. I request an investigation into their unethical practices.
