Nextdoor Their issue with demanding the use of our full legal last names

It’s 12/28/2022. My account on NextDoor was disabled because I didn’t use my full legal last name. Which is crazy as 90% of the people on this site do not use their last nsne, rather they use their first name and the first initial of their last name. 99% of the women only use their first names, which I totally agree with, especially in today’s society where personal privacy protection is paramount!

Desired outcome: Reinstate my account

Nextdoor Leads

The leads bully people and censor people biased on partisanship. They tag team the person to have them censored! Chris Ballard uses pm to curse people out and tell them they will ban you . This is not a way to run a company. They censor our 1 st amendment right they are quai platform and works with government and police agencies ! Therefore they can’t censor your free speech and ban you based on their leads biases

Desired outcome: Fire the leads ! Stop censorship and retire accounts that have been banned because of it ! It collision

FYI the Leads on Nextdoor are not employees, they are volunteer, if they are not behaving appropriately you need to report their profile and keep reporting them until Nextdoor takes action.

Same here! I just want an apology. It’s not a matter of do we disagree on politics. It’s a matter of them being the judge and executioner of what’s misinformation! For example….once a post had claimed there was a pandemic of the unvaccinated. They claim every bed at the local hospital currently had unvaccinated only filling them up. I respectfully disagreed as I know for a fact that wasn’t true. There may have been a little more but, it was close to even. They disabled me for 30 days. When I had gotten back on I wrote to ND sharing an article where Dr Birx was interviewed and said we must admit that with the Omicron variant there were 50% vaccinated that were hospitalized with severe covid. This is what I was trying to convey. They stood their ground and wouldn’t apologize. Now that means they are guilty of misinformation. A few other times I guess my sense of humor was wasted on them. I got disabled for sharing a pic of two pretzels saying they will get in trouble for no social distancing. Another time when some man was arrested on espionage charges and the FBI was there to bring him in. I again wasted my humor by saying are we sure about the charges? We are talking about the FBI. Maybe he just wouldn’t give up the family secret recipe for wonton soup.😂

Nextdoor Unconstitutional violations

My account was temporarily disabled due to “disrespectful” comments, when in fact, I was the recipient of threats and false accusations. Whoever is running and/or monitoring this app does not know what they are doing, and they are violating my constitutional right to free speech. I have since deleted the app, because I’ve never met so many obnoxious, ignorant people in my life, and I wish I lived elsewhere now that I know what kind of people are in my community.

Desired outcome: I would like an apology from a Nextdoor Neighborhood.

Nextdoor Suspended from nextdoor because I won't use my legal name anymore

Hello,

I was suspended from NEXTDOOR because I won't use my legal name anymore. I used to use it and decided that it was not safe for me

to continue with that identifier. I worked in a juvenile jail facility and felt the need to protect myself online. I did not have a negative event on NEXTDOOR except someone gave me a malicious search engine once.

I participated fully on NextDoor but not in arguments or malicious behavior. All my posts can be viewed. I bought furniture and desserts mainly and offered support several times as well as supporting ND on several occasions.

I find the policy of being forced to use my identifiable name in a public forum to be unsafe. How do domestic violence victims stay safe but still participate in their community? What if you have been stalked and need to feel safe?

I'm sure the leadership of NextDoor can understand this concept in our current atmosphere. If I did something wrong, ND can always get ahold of me with my personal information listed. The person who responded to me wrote in Bold letters the repeated rules trying to help me to understand the point, as if that would help.

I do not do Facebook or twitter or instagram and would like the option to remain on Nextdoor but the forced concept of revealing your identity to strangers seems very off base and disinformed. The concept of feeling like you're talking to a neighbor does not appear to be more important than online safety as any safety expert would be able to explain. Maybe a training is in order about online safety?

I also suggest reading the Confidence Game as a reference of how susceptible we ALL are to scams and con artists.

So, if your response is, too bad, go to Facebook, so be it. I just wouldn't want to feel like I"M trying to force people to be unsafe to use my company.

Thank you for your time,

AF

So Ca

Desired outcome: To have an option, if needed to use another identifier that keeps the neighbor safe and able to make safe connections by their choice in their interactions. [protected]@aol.com

When you only see a last initial, it's because the person has chosen to hide their full last name. They did register with their correct and complete last name, but chose to only display their last initial in settings.

Nextdoor Why are you emailing me.

I moved to Kansas City and all of a sudden you are sending me notifications of missed messages...Why?

This does not seem to be in keeping with being a good neighbor, and thus why would I want to do any kind of business with you?

This is not something I asked for, signed up for or any other request.

Please give me a full explanation of why you are now cluttering the email box of my secondary email address with junk emails that were not requested!

Desired outcome: A full and complete explanation of why you are harassing people.

Nextdoor Double Standards on your own community guidelines!!

I awoke to find my account temporarily suspended because you advocate and promote any neighbor to "turn in" another neighbor about an alleged violation of your community guidelines WITHOUT ANYONE BOTHERING TO CONTACT THE PERSON WHO POSTED IT! You just "assume" that the person reporting another neighbor was right. This is incompetence on your part at the very least and fascistic at the worst! I demand my account be immediately reinstated or I will contact every non-woke media outlet and report YOU! How do you like that?

Desired outcome: Reinstate my account immediately

Nextdoor Nextdoor app

Nextdoor has accused mothers of children that died from fentynal overdoses of lying about the death of their children. They have disabled any account that is a conservative person because next door does not allow conservative views on their site. They have disabled my account because I have personal experiences with the covid vaccine causing extreme heart issues. They will not allow dangerous side effects to be discussed in order to save people's lives because it does not fit the narrative they want to push. Many people use nextdoor to talk to neighbors and get advice. The advice that the covid shot prevents the spread was wrong and caused many deaths immediately related to nextdoors suppression of the truth. I have screen shots of liberals threatening people and they still have not been disabled. I have screen shots of conservatives 100 true statements that they were disabled for.

Desired outcome: Restore mine and every conservative account that was disabled due to dangerous prejudice and suppression of truths that could save lives. Answer our many emails asking for proof that any statements we made were not true.

Nextdoor provides no cyberstalking or stalking safeguards

All other platforms provide protections against cyberstalking, bulling and violence against a neighbor participant in nextdoor. You can only mute and block an offender with a criminal history. However from their end they can send emails containing violent content and on their end it appears as send. The victim has no idea since I muted, blocked the stalker.

I was told by Nextdoor lead that they can't see content, so i am supposed to wait for an attack.

Im looking for an attorney to take this on as class action. How many people have been attacked by nextdoor stalker when it could have been prevented.

This social media platform has many issues and needs to be shut down.

Desired outcome: lawsuit against Next door

I'd give this app a zero if I could. I have my own private "conservative" groups on line and for some reason I keep getting suspended upon posting. Today I posted something in one of my groups. I went to look at it and I have a 30 day suspension with no warning and no indication of why. Also, I have been lambasted for having an opinion against the norm and received quite nasty and name calling comments in the general forum and when I reported those no comment was ever removed. The censorship for this app is beyond ridiculous and I'm tired of it.

Desired outcome: Suspension removal and the biased moderators replaced.

The same happened to me. I also change my wording if they warn me (though I did nothing wrong). I responding to a hate spewing person who said whites are to blame for violence, and conservatives are white supremacists. I only used facts in my response. But I was suspended, and “Juan” is still spewing away! It’s a San Francisco based company - that says it all! And Vox published an article saying that they were supposed to prevent “disinformation” and other non-leftist conversation, but that some was actually coming through. That’s not biased AT ALL…😶

One-sided conversation - oxymoron (I know)

Highly scrutinized by the Site Hosts

If you know what you are talking about and enter into a conversation that has no factual basis whatsoever, they block the one who is NOT FULL OF IT!

They want everyone else to be unbiased, and BIAS is all they project.

Comparable to the people who scream about racial profiling, then demand places for a woman here, a Hispanic there, a black man here, a red woman there, etc.

Desired outcome: Knock off the BIAS or SHUTDOWN!

You may want to try MeWe; they don't seem to censor at all, and you could message all your valuable contacts on NextDoor to find you there and provide the name of the neighborhood-specific group you set up, for which you and others you designate as admin's can invite, accept, moderate or exclude as you see fit. It's free, and you don't need to expose your real name or location; after getting suspended without valid reason, that's what I am going to try.

Nextdoor Being reported by a far right maga group for disagreeing with them.

https://nextdoor.com/account_disabled/ I have been disabled once again by a political group on Next door NW Manteca California. I am requesting to know the post that was reported and who reported it. I have not posted anything in error of NeXT doors policy and feel I am being targeted for a difference of opinion. This is an ongoing issue in this group and perhaps the moderators of this group are not dealing with neighbors in a fair manner.

Thank you,

Mary Smith

Nextdoor Nexdoor.com Bias, especially around election

Because I post conservative topics, the Biased Left Wing Leads have disabled my account. This was due to a post on their "Politics", which is supposed to be for "political discussion". Left wing posts, even by leads that "swear at you", never get removed and the Leads never get "disabled". Here is the email from the Leftist Lead that removed me.

I gave the Topic as:

I'm not a woman, but I wonder if this is acceptable to women?

I posted a link about the concerns many biological female athletes have regarding Transgender inclusion in Women’s Sport

I was disabled, with this note.

Karen J., Greenfield LEAD

Yes of course it is. Because she IS a woman.

Also- I’ve reported this post. In what way is this political? This is homophobic [censored] Russell and despite your radical right wing opinions, I expect better from you. Not even pretending to be... See more

Desired outcome: Be reinstated before the election is over.

Nextdoor Social platform

Next Door operates with a number of individuals designated "Leads" that are supposed to monitor the conversations taking place in the "neighborhood where their own personal or business accounts is located. Next Door says that there are multiple Leads assigned in any given neighborhood, and the Leads must collectively vote and a majority must agree on the alleged infraction to remove a post.

More and more, I have noticed that there is a complete lack of impartiality and that posts are removed in a discriminatory manner, whereas a post or comment is flagged as derogatory, for example, and then another account with opposing viewpoint posts or comments in the same manner, and that post or comment is left alone by the lead(s).

In every case where one of my posts or comments was removed, I requested through the Appeal page that I will be provided the EXACT VERBIAGE that was found by the Leads to be in violation of ND Guidelines and the cause for the removal of the post or comment. This is so that I can learn from my supposed error and adjust my writing accordingly.

In not a single instance has Next Door provided me with that information. I am just notified later that my appeal was denied.

These completely subjectively determined violations have led to my account being suspended and then disabled. The outcome that those opposed to my views proclaimed as their ultimate goal and what ultimately happened.

I believe that the Leads within neighborhoods on Next Door have become corrupt and discriminatory.

That said, I see no reason to use Next Door as a social platform any further and will switch to other platforms such as Facebook and Tribel.

Thank you.

Desired outcome: That ND Mgmt reviews my account, its posts & comments, & the comments of those in opposition, & see for themselves the discriminatory nature of how these particular Leads managed the communications in the ND Neighborhood in which I reside.

BABernstein's comments mirror my own experience. Totally biased moderation with no transparency. Conservatives' comments are not tolerated on Nextdoor. The anonymous "moderators" are I believe people who do not have day jobs, and they live to control Nextdoor comments to assure those comments are in tune with their own political bents.

Nextdoor Not being allowed to comment in neighborhoods outside my "near" neighbors

Yrs long member. Notice that I cannot comment in posts from neighbors in all areas of my city. Was told I could only comment on my "near " neighbors. This is blatantly untrue as there are comments to posts for neighborhoods in my city from people OUTSIDE my city. They are certainly not near neighbors - they are in a city 23 miles away!

When I see a post from a neighborhood that I follow (within my city limits- but approximately 8 miles from my neighborhood ), the comment button has been grayed out and if you select it, this message appears " commenting is disabled as this post is outside your neighborhood." Who selects my "near neighbors"? And why can't I have control of who I interact with? WHY? Nextdoor has become a little nazi in my neighborhood with moderators that want to control who I am permitted to interact with, I suspect others are treated the same, I am just more irritated by it. Either let members converse with all members or shut it down. I do not need nextdoor to select those with whom I am PERMITTED to interact.

Desired outcome: Allow all members to converse with all other members in their resident city!!!

Nextdoor Nextdoor Rio Verde Foothills

I have been on Nextdoor Rio Vere Foothills now for some time. There is a contentious issue in our neighborhood since it is seeking a solution to the cutoff of our water supply. I have been working for years for our local area News Channels (TV * Radio) and know how to provide facts for the Neighborhood to assess. Each time I do, I get harassing posts back from the "opposition" leaders and other trolls; called a variety of names; Capital letters used often to bully and "yell"; and the moderator of the group, who is a friend of the "opposition" has started to do the same today, 10-14-2022. They have already banned some members who support me, and today I have been "dinged" many, many times. I have requested Facebook several weeks ago to put an end to it, with no reply. I am now asking that you immediately put an end to it or just plain shut down the entire group. I am hurt, angry, pained, and incredibly frustrated that this has been allowed to go on for so long. Please to what you can to get Nextdoor back to its premise of not injuring anyone, thank you. Leigh Harris (Leigh Harris Avril, married name). I will be glad to provide screenshots if you want, but frankly, I am too stressed-out to do that tonight. You can always contact my husband too at [protected]@gorvw.net, but just review the posts re the Rio Verde Foothills water issues, and Christy Jackman's posts for starters, for the past several weeks / months, and espec. those of today, Oct 14, 2022. Thank you.

Desired outcome: Remove all the angry and harmful posts that violate your policies, directed at me, and if possible, remove the access to those who post it, and to the moderator, who is biased and who also bullies people. Thank you !

Nextdoor moderation of NEXTDOOR platform in Tennessee, specifically, in Fairfield Glade

The incidents are too numerous to recount, and the issue is ongoing for YEARS.

You're asleep at the wheel and you need to remove the mods and admins running the GENERAL room in the Fairfield Glade NEXTDOOR app. There is NO moderation of liberal viewpoints while conservative viewpoints are censored, removed without notice and members are bullied and banned without notice. It is SO BAD, that people are calling for the mods, admins and whomever is running the conversations in GENERAL to be DOXXED for street justice !

This discrimination must stop before someone gets hurt. This is intolerable ! NEXTDOOR needs to show some good faith actions for the integrity of the platform. It's your circus, get your monkeys in line ! You have now been warned. If something happens, YOU will be listed as a defendant in the lawsuit. I promise you that.

Desired outcome: REMOVE and REPLACE ALL EXISTING MODS, ADMINS and anyone in a position to regulate content in GENERAL.

3RD Request! There is NOTHING disrespectful or discriminatory is my statement!

09.16.2022:-

Scott first I was not the one that brought national politics into this conversation. The lady that report two people casing houses at 2:30am was called a “Karen”. That’s racist! Then someone stated they were counting African American deaths that has racial connotations to it. I only responded to those comments. Maybe there is a double standard here for those that disagree with comments!

Exactly what is disrespectful about the above statement? Exactly what word or words in this statement are disrespectful?

Exactly what is discriminatory about the above statement? Exactly what word or words in this statement are discriminatory?

09.16.2022:-

Scott incorrect. You need to read the statement by Karen that was made about counting about African Americans winding up dead. National politics has everything to do with it especially sine crime is becoming rampant across America. Please quote the guidelines you mention. I believe we have freedom of speech in America! Are you woke? Do you want to stifle freedom of speech? So sad!

Exactly what is disrespectful about the above statement? Exactly what word or words in this statement are disrespectful?

Exactly what is discriminatory about the above statement? Exactly what word or words in this statement are discriminatory?

What is your definition of “discrimination”? Be precise in your answer!

What is your definition of “respectful”? Be precise in your answer!

Your Statement “Racism and racial discrimination create an environment of exclusion, intimidation, and fear. No one should feel this way in any neighborhood, but it is particularly harmful if it is the neighborhood in which you live.”

There was not ANY racism or racial discrimination in any of my statements towards anyone! I just pointed out that someone used a racial term( Karen ) describing a lady’s warning of two hooded individuals walking around at 2:30am!

Definition of a Karen: “Karen is a pejorative slang term for anobnoxious, angry, entitled, and often racist middle-aged white womanwho uses her privilege to get her way or police other people’s behaviors.”

Please be specific and precise in your response to this.

Subject: Case # [protected]: Account disabled

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for contacting us about this issue.

We temporarily disabled your Nextdoor account after we received a complaint regarding your content and found that it didn't adhere to our Community Guidelines on being respectful to your neighbors and discrimination .

Here is an example of the content that was brought to our attention:

09.16.2022:-

Scott first I was not the one that brought national politics into this conversation. The lady that report two people casing houses at 2:30am was called a “Karen”. That’s racist! Are you woke? Do you want to stifle freedom of speech? So sad!

We encourage neighbors to have conversations about the issues that matter to them in a way that is constructive, civil, and builds community. You can, of course, think what you like, but on Nextdoor, conversations must remain civil.People on Nextdoor are your real neighbors, and ALL should feel that they belong. Racism and racial discrimination create an environment of exclusion, intimidation, and fear. No one should feel this way in any neighborhood, but it is particularly harmful if it is the neighborhood in which you live.

As a result, your account will remain disabled until at least 09.25.2022. At that time, you can log into your account and access your Nextdoor neighborhood after checking a box stating that you agree to following the Guidelines.

Please let me know if I can help with anything else.

Nextdoor Discrimination

I don’t know if this is a problem in other areas, but where I live & where I utilize the NextDoor app, (Bakersfield, CA), there is pervasive discrimination against the conservative viewpoint. If progressives are allowed to post political content, why aren’t conservatives allowed to post rebuttals? Does NextDoor want to go the way of Facebook? Either NO political content is allowed, or all sides should have equal access. Leads & reviewers should be more closely monitored, as it is usually their biases that determine content.

Desired outcome: Promote a social media climate of fairness & equity, regardless -

Don' t know why you are complaining; as long you agree with their point of view, a/k/a "Community Guidelines/Guide to Successful Marxism", you are free to post absolutely anything you want that they don't disagree with; they are very "Liberal" about that. BTW, don't criticize Chucky Schumer or have a conservative p.o.v; that is strictly forbidden, as is Babylon Bee-style satire and opinions on social or political issues. ...Why can't we all just get along? Well, the way THEY see it, we can if they can suppress your free speech enough; the world will be a better place, with no hurtful opinions, and pictures of little furry animals posted throughout the feed, Trump is a monster, little Jimmy can become Janey and we'll all live happily ever after. I just got suspended for two weeks, but since they won't even tell you what it is that they were oversensitive about, I can't even self-moderate, even if inclined to do so.

Nextdoor Political bias toward the left

This is the most left wing politically biased forum for locals that I have seen to date. Local political posts are allowed anywhere on Nextdoor.com as per ND rules. I have repeatedly posted a conservative candidate's yard sign with the message VOTE! and have had my post repeatedly flagged then voted by liberally biased Review Team members from other areas to be removed. I have reported Review Team members for bias and filed a complaint with Nextdoor.com. The generic responses simply take me to the pages where it says I can make posts like the one I made anywhere. All liberal political posts are allowed and never deleted.

Desired outcome: Stop deleting conservative political posts as well as liberal political posts. Stop censoring conservatives.
