My Experience Seeking Answers About a 2015 Personal Loan
On 14 July 2026, I submitted a formal dispute to Nedbank Personal Loans regarding Personal Loan Account 8002591106301, which originated in February 2015. In that dispute, I requested documentation relating to the original loan agreement, prescription assessment, any legal proceedings, and the legal authority relied upon for deductions being processed against my account during 2025.
More than a month later, having received no substantive response, I followed up on 21 August 2026 seeking answers to why my dispute had not been acknowledged, why further deductions were continuing, and when I could expect the requested documentation.
On 26 August 2026, I was compelled to follow up yet again. At that stage, I noted that despite multiple written requests and escalations, I had still not received the documentation I had requested, nor a detailed explanation addressing the concerns raised in my dispute. I also raised concerns regarding a further R900 deduction that had been processed while the matter remained unresolved.
My requests have been straightforward:
• A copy of the original signed loan agreement.
• Evidence supporting the continued enforceability of the debt.
• Confirmation of whether any legal proceedings or judgments exist.
• Documentation supporting any interruption of prescription.
• The contractual or legal authority relied upon for deductions made against my account.
• An explanation as to why an account classified as a write-off continues to reflect as active.
To date, my primary concern is not simply the existence of the debt itself, but the lack of transparency and the absence of the supporting documentation I have repeatedly requested. I believe every customer has the right to understand the legal and contractual basis upon which recoveries are being conducted, particularly where questions have been formally raised and remain unanswered.
I remain willing to engage constructively and would welcome a comprehensive written response supported by the relevant documentation. My objective has always been clarity, transparency, and fair treatment.
