timeshare
We are paying annual fees, and there are no available bookings any time of the year we want to go. Basically fraud, indicating you can take vacations at properties they list on website but after every search the website says no available dates. The consumer protection bureau should certainly take a look at this company for breach of contract. No properties are available to rent.
No fine print or details
We went to a Monarch grand vacation presentation in Scottsdale Arizona on [protected] after being informed that we were a finalist for a car raffle we signed up at the mall(yeah right). I went with an open mind and we sat with a salesperson explain points, resort locations etc. When we asked for fine print, program details, disclosures and a price of the points we were told we would get literature, fine print, disclosure etc after we signed a purchase agreement. They said this purchase was based on common sense. The only common sense thing to do at that time was to get the *** out of there!
Fraud and scam
We purchased a time share through Grand Monarch in 2003. WHAT A MISTAKE! Since then, we can NEVER get any exchanges that we request, not even at our time share location, have paid Interval fees in the hopes that we can get exchanges where & when we want... but no luck!
This is the VERY WORST investment we have any been roped into. We need to get out of this useless time share problem. We are tired of paying dues for nothing. Do not fall for the same scam!
Can anybody tell me how to get rid of this fiasco?

I made a down payment to Diamond and then told them I lost my money and wanted to turn the timeshare back. They informed me I would have to sell it myself. I really didn't know much about how to go about this. I have never used this timeshare (points). I did not hear from Diamond for years and then Monarch purchased it and I get billed every month. I have never paid more than the down payment which as about $1500. I am getting phone calls from people who say they are attorneys and will sell my timeshare. I believe that paying them up front is a scam also. I am 77 and on Social Security. I originally purchased this in the first part of 2009.
Ever since Diamond Resorts absorbed Monarch I have not been able to make a reservation. I just want to get rid of it.. It is already paid off. email me at cramer1333@yahoo.com
Timeshares are never a good purchase and timeshare owners need to be cautious about this. There are lots of timeshare scams. I recommend you to read a good article with good information about timeshare issues: http://www.timesharescam.com/blog/206-how-to-get-out-of-a-timeshare/
I want to get rid out my 86 points from MGV willing to pay the transfer fee. denciodog23@yahoo.com
I purchased in 2010 and have been unhappy ever since. I called and spoke to several people at MGV and Diamond and have only grown more and more angry at their fraudulent and deceptive practices. One particular person who answered my call had been trained to dodge any and all questions and proof for my contract to be cancelled. That was the moment I decided to make a documentary exposing them.
It would be great if I could get help from all of you on this subject, or if you would like to have your story filmed for the documentary. Please contact me at ownershipdoc@gmail.com and we can discuss it further.
There has to be a way to get out of these useless and worthless contracts!
i PAID MY TIMESHARE FOR 7800/PAID OFF SINCE 2009. MGV INCREASED MY ASSOCIATION DUES TO $86/MO THAT i HAVE TO PAY FOR A LIFETIME. i GOT BEHIND PAYING MY DUES BECAUSE MY HUSBAND GOT LAID OFF. Now they are telling me its all gone i dont own any timeshare and my membership is porfeited. I just found out by calling them, they did not notify me through phone, email or mail. Heartless and really a scam. Worst buying ever I ve done in mylife.
We have been owners with MGV for 20 years. When we first bought it for $14000.00 we used it 5 or 6 times a year. Then we moved out of state and can't get anything close to us or traded. We have been trying to get away from the dues that will milk you dry. They are now going to REPOSSES our points and ruin our credit...for POINTS! What a group of losers!
Has anyone call the [protected] to get out the MGV? Any success?
i agree with all complaints
MGV is an absolute scam. I highly advise avoiding ANY interaction with them. Their promises of prizes won, and being awarded for your time are not worth it. Their 90 min session starts off nice, then turns into a high pressure sales pitch and they will keep you for hours. If you find yourself (unfortunately) in this situation, just tell them you are not interested in their services, and LEAVE! Forget any bonuses, or gifts that are promised.
Misleading
My complaint is that during the sales process, we were led to believe we could take what's called getaways to any of the timeshares in the pool. The problem is that I tried to book for Sept 2008 in either CA. or NV. I was told only Palm Desert, CA is available for nightly rates. This is not an availability problem, but more of a "we don't want you to use these resorts for weekends, only week long periods" problem. However, we could go to Cape Cod if we wanted? Hello, that's not a getaway that someone in CA can use.
As for all the free gifts. Not much good considering I have to take my kids out of school and take off work. This includes the cruise. We have to wait six months to book, but we have to use the voucher within 12 months of purchase. This means we have a 6 month window. Pretty sure this is going to put us at the start of hurricane season...
we vested time to 120 min presentation of monarch grand vacation and someone talking toooooooooooooooo much and then said you must buy a one program form that company...i wanna 2 words from that company FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKK YYYYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUU.
We went to a "90" min presentation of MGV what a ripoff. we said we need to go home and think about it and they said you can never have this offer again and can't come back for 10 years. Anyway they did give us a voucher for a cruise. does anyone know if this is valid ? are we going to be paying alot of money in fees?
Getaways as you call them are actually "Getaway Weeks" not nights. Maybe you are referring to "Escape Time" which is the nightly fee if you choose not to use your points. We've been owners for 6 years and only 2 times have we had problems. Once was for Las Vegas when there was a big convention and everything was sold out and the other was for Lake Tahoe during Hot August Nights once again everything was sold out. Both times we tried to book on very short notice, meaning within a coulle of days within our (hopefully planned arrival.
Other than that no problems at all uing it.
Rip Off
Monarch Grand Vacations sold us a special vacation getaway package in 10/12/07 $149 for 3d/2n plus dinner & show tickets and slot play, even more if we booked during the week. They said to ignore a comment in the letter about expiring in 6 months and that we could use the time any time over the next year. The confirmation letter does not have any clause to the contrary, but when we tried to book over labor day weekend, we were told it would cost an additional $200 because it was a holiday. They would not book us unless we paid additional money, nor would they refund our money. We were manipulated and feel that they purposly mislead us to get our money.
I'm doing a documentary on MGV and other "vacation ownership" companies. Would love to feature your story and talk with you about how everything went.
If interested, please contact me at ownershipdoc@gmail.com
Thanks!
Yes, Do not Buy a Timeshare with them. Even if you can make it work and go on Vacations, and although it's nice to "have", it's just not worth the money and the time you are paying to have this thing, this service every year.

Took unauthorized amount of money from my checking account
I bought in Vegas on Feb 08 and they never debited my account for the first payment on the 19th of March. Then they proceeded to tell me I was late on my payments even though they did debit my account and tried to charge me late fees. They were sending my statements to the wrong P.O. Box in the wrong town with the wrong zip code. Where they got that from I haven't a clue. Th
