Bought 3months pre-paid plan of 6GB. Had more than 5 GB left and Mint Mobile suspended my account just because the 3 month's up and I still had over 5GB of data remaining.
I need Mint Mobile to restore my over 5 PLUS GB of data. I will not be forced to renew since I specifically limited the use of my data to match the need of my budget for this period. I thought that was the whole concept of pre-paid plan-so you could be in control of your usage.
Was there something written in the fine print regarding termination of unused data after plan-end date? If that's the case- I wasn't aware of it.
If Mint Mobile wants to be competitive- they need to ensure customer satisfaction-since they're other carriers salivating for our patronage.
Recommendation: Ask about pre-paid data-expiry date before your purchase.
Prepaid data expiring at the end of the billing cycle is standard across almost every carrier, so Mint is not doing anything unusual there. The catch is that it should be spelled out somewhere, either in the plan terms or the FAQ. Go find that exact line, because if it is buried or missing, you have a legitimate gripe with support and can push for a goodwill credit. If it is clearly stated, then honestly your best move is to size your next plan to how much data you actually burn in three months and set a calendar reminder for the renewal date. Call support anyway and ask for a one-time restore or credit, it costs you nothing and they sometimes say yes.
