Menards Electric heater doesnt work

I bought a electric heater last winter or spring and it didn't work I don't come to Minot to much as I live about a Hundred miles away . I finally remembered to bring it as I was going to Minot Menards I got there and didn't have the receipt So they Exchanged it for me as you can tell It came from that store and they had another So I took it home and it Didn't work as well by chance I needed to go to

Minot again So I took it with Me I explained the situation to the front end person at customer service as I entered the store she called another front end person over I explained it to her and was told without the reciept there was nothing they could do and that they couldnt keep doing this so I Told them to Keep the product and the Money that I had spent on it and That I didn't want it and was over it, and walked out the door that was earlier today 09/152023 around noon. I was wearing a blue shirt if you would like to review the camera footage.I'm sure that the employees were only acting the way the company has trained them but Im sure that if the Item had been scanned you would find that It came from that store and it could have been exchanged for one that does work .

Menards Online order and store pick up

I purchased an online order. It was split into 2 orders with 2 seperate receipts and 1 didnt include a barcode which made everything a huge mess. No workers seemed to be able to help us with the second order (which was really just one order they seperated into 2) and it took over 3 hours to pick up this order because the site is a mess and the workers are completely clueless and one order somehowbecame two orders.. Do better Menards this is ridiculous. Ordering online should be EASIER! Not harder! How disgraceful and downright shameful. I ordered a total of 4 small items. SMALL ITEMS. Never again. Reporting this to the BBB.

Menards Horrible customer service and junk products

I bought a TroyBilt Weed whacker 16" TB 25CC TRIMMER 2671904, on [protected]. I took it home and put it together on [protected]. On [protected] I tried to use it. I had to pull the rope no less than 40 pulls to get it to start. I had the correct 40:1 fuel ratio non ethanol gas in the tank. It ran for around 5 minutes. It warmed up and quit running. I had a very difficult time restarting it, but it finally started. It ran for less than 3 minutes and quit again. That time it would not start. I tried to return it to the Menard's store in Dubuque, IA. on 9-1-2023. The customer service department told me I had to take it to a repair shop 9 miles from the Dubuque store to have it inspected. I took it to that shop and they told me all they had to do and it would be done on Tuesday, 9-5-2023. I picked the weed whacker up from the shop on 9-5-2023 and took it back to the store with a note from the repair shop stating it would cost more than 3/4 the price of the equipement and I should either get a refund or a different weed whacker. I opted for the refund. It was then that I was told, we have to give you a check that can only be used at Menard's for the refund price, which was $128.39 I paid with a VISA credit card that can be used anywhere and now I'm stuck with a check that is ONLY good at a Menard's store. I live 60 miles from the nearest Menards store and do not shop that often at Menard's due to the distance. Plus, I had to make 2 extra 132 mile round trips to get this Menard's ONLY check. I want my money to go back to my VISA card and not on a Menard's ONLY check.

Menards Rebates International

I sent all the proper rebate and receipt on time. Check was issued over a month ago. Yes, I do know what they look like. I emailed Rebates International four times after the check was issued. No response. Rebate check is for $339.85 so I will never give up on this. One way or another I will get my check. When Is this going to stop. Menard's has to find a better way. What is the purpose of contacting Rebates International? They don't respond or follow up. My next step is to contact the store to have a discussion with the manager. Then I will hit Social Media and You Tube! After doing some research seems like Menard's and Rebates International are not even concerned about this issue and others like it. Also, anybody else who doesn't receive payment on something will start charging you interest. I will NEVER give up on this even if I have spend my own money to take them to court.

Desired outcome: The desired outcome? I want what is due to me. A rebate worth $339.85 is what I want. I want this in a timely manner as well.

Menards Metabo 18 volt straight finish nailer

I purchased a Metabo 18volt finish nail gun approximately a year ago. I went to use the nail gun and the battery was bad so I returned it to Menards and they replaced it. I didn't open the new one in the box that Menards had replaced it with because I didn't need the product at the time but wanted to get it replaced while it was under warranty. Last week I finally went to use the nail gun and when I opened the box the nail gun was not in the box. There was only the paperwork, the battery, the charger and the bag for it. The nail gun was not in the box. When I went back to the store, the manager said they could not help me so I thought the manager Steven would check to see if the display on the shelf would have the box since the nail gun was not in my box. I had them check and the display was missing the box for it but the manager would not consider that this was the nail gun missing out of the box I purchased. Steven the manager tried to tell me that another box was the box for the display and another employee told him it was not the box for the display.

Desired outcome: I would like to have the nail gun replaced since it was not in the box. I paid over 350.00 for this and got just a charger, battery, bag and the paperwork for it. If that is not possible then I would like a refund for the amount I paid,

Menards Customer service

I often shop at Menards in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. I have experienced rude speaking workers the last 3 times I've been there.

Today I returned items at the customer service desk. The cashier Robin was rude and not nice at all. First of all, when I walked up, I asked, her "how are you today." She didn't answer and was not friendly at all. She didnt even say, thank you or have a nice day. I didn't feel like my service was appreciated at all. I live in Madison, so maybe I will go back to Home Depot because I refuse to keep spending my money where I don't feel appreciated.

Desired outcome: Better train your workers. Customers deserve to feel welcome regardless of their color, creed, race and religion.

Menards Troy bilt weed whip from menards.

Bought a weed whip from Menards. Use it for 5 minutes. Did not perform as well as advertised. The day before I call the store about return or exchange and was told on the phone from service desk to empty the gas and bring it back in original package and bring it back, no problem.

When I brought back to the store, they said no refund or returns because it was used. I had less than a week. I inform them that I call the day before to check on return of product and was told who ever told me on the phone from the service desk was wrong, and basally didn't believe me.

I exited the store with no results. Was standing outside of the store with the weed whip in a shopping cart, and a gentleman coming in the store seen the weed whip and ask me how I like it. I told him I didn't, and that Menard refused to give me refund or store credit for it.

After that the store manager came out and told me to leave the property because I am harassing his customers. Trying to explain what the gentleman said, he told me again to get off the property and that he was going to call the police. I am 70 years old, never had so much disrespect. and they were going to call the police because somebody ask me a question?

Desired outcome: I would like a store credit so I can buy a different brand from the same store. As far as that the manager was going to call the police on me for a reason I can't understand. That part can never be resolved .

Menards Not being able to refund,

I purchase a weed whip on 8/7/23.

I used it for five minutes and do not perform as expected. I bought the top of the line to ensure quality. I was very disappointed. on it performance. I call the store before returning it, to make sure how to return it with no problems.

When I got to the Chesterfield Mich. store to return it, I got nothing but resistance and disrespect.

Telling me I can't return it because it was used. That why I call the store in advance to make sure. The manger told me he cannot take it back, and who ever told me on the phone from the service desk was WRONG.

I walk out of the store and an gentleman coming into the store seen the weed whip in my cart and asked how I liked it. I told him I didn't, and the store would not take it back or give me store credit.

Then the manger came out told me to leave the property told to leave the property, because I was harassing his customers.

I told him that I am not, and was told he was going to call the police.

I have been shopping at that store since it opened. Was never told about the return policy when I bought it.

I guess social media should know how a 70-year old man was totally disrespect. After a loyal customer for years was treated. I work for a contractor that give us Menard cards for purchase for the company supplies. I am sorry but I will have to tell my boss about my experience. It too bad I did really enjoy shopping at Menands.

Desired outcome: I just wanted to buy another brand from your store.

Menards Online order/store pickup

August 5th,2023, approximately 11:30 am. Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

I found myself in dire need of a car battery, as mine had deteriorated to the point it was no longer safe to turn the engine off. My town of Two Rivers did not have a suitable replacement, so after a short internet search I found that Menards in Manitowoc had a compatible battery in stock. So off we went. My husband used his phone from the passenger seat to purchase the battery, to save time. Remember, I cannot shut off the car until I have a battery. I've needed a jump two days in a row so I was certain it would not start if I did.

We arrive, and are told to go to the pick up area behind the store. The very helpful and pleasant security agent told us that according to his handheld device, we already picked up the battery. A quick call inside cleared that up and we were admitted access to the pickup lot. My husband went inside, returning a few moments later with no battery. They did not have what we had purchased in stock. Which makes the "you already received it" error even more confounding. So, of course, we canceled the order.

No problem, mistakes happen.

But wait, where is my money? I still need to buy a battery TODAY. We were told it will take several days to put the money back into my account (debit card). I needed that money for a battery. I tried to buy one from Menards, they didn't have it, but they kept my money anyways. So instead of grocery shopping for our family of three, I had to spend an additional $120 for a battery at Walmart. I was lucky to have the funds available.

But, what if I didn't? I don't have credit cards. I don't know anyone here well enough to ask for a loan. I feel that my money was taken (immediately, I might add) under false pretenses, and is now being held for several days (this happened on a Saturday) and it feels unethical. My $143 (not a lot, but money is really tight lately) should have been refunded immediately in this case. Or never charged, really. I was in need, and you took advantage of me. That's how I feel. Cheated and used.

Also, the $1.40 surcharge for store pickup? Shame on you.

Thank you for reading this rather long complaint. I have spent thousands of dollars over the years at Menards, in Wisconsin and Minnesota. I bought, from you, my washer and dryer, a freezer, and untold tools, paints, etc since moving to the area 3 years ago. I was happy to see a Menards when we moved here, as we shopped the Richfield, Minnesota store often.

I hope we can be friends again. I really hope I don't get a shifty form letter as a response.

Menards Powersmart lawnmower

Ordered in April 2023, have used mower 5 ? Times. Front wheel center came out while other one on front cracked. This is a front wheel drive mower. We immediately contacted Powersmart of issue and asked for new front wheels. We have replied to every request with no actual result. After about 3 weeks of trying to get the wheels we have been promised wheels to no avail. Now we are barely past the 90 day window..Mower is not useable!

Desired outcome: We would like credit towards a different Mower of our choice..

Menards Kitchen cabinets

I recently purchased Kitchen Cabinets from your Owensboro, KY store. I took in professional measurements and the guy forgot to put in a 3" filler. I received the cabinets and ofcourse it doesn't work. He already ordered the countertop so it wont fit after the correct filler is put in. I've been speaking with Zack Meyer (manager) and he is unwilling to help me. He says he does not answer to anyone and only gave me [protected] to call and complain. I called that # and it was a recording stating to go to store and fill out a complaint and mail or fax it in. I do not have a kitchen, no sink, and I have THREE kids. I explained all this to Zack but all he could provide me was a phone # to no one. Please help!

Desired outcome: Please refund me my $ at this point. This has been a disaster!

Menards Advertised “Final Price” during 11 % off

Menards will advertise a “final price” on both the search inquiry list, and on the specific item’s page. I understand their rebate program. I don’t have an issue with rebates. My issue is when I search for an item, it lists a final price on the main search page.

Example

On search page: Dryer combo : Final Price advertised at 1296.00. Great! That’s a great deal.

When I go to buy it, I actually pay 1,400.00 (because of the rebate).

In summary, how is a massive and untouchable company allowed to advertise a “final price” yet that’s not the final price you pay. I don’t care what they say about rebates and store credit. I’m talking about the literal language.

“Final Price”

Final means end.

Price means the cost of something.

Am I the idiot here assuming literal language isn’t supposed to be taken literally?

When you pay the actual “final price”, 1,296.00 isn’t what the receipt says. Menards are blending costs and rebates, I get it. What’s wrong is the final price advertised is not the final price that you pay. You pay more than the advertised “final price” and in return you get more merchandise via store credit. You never recoup the cash savings. The “savings” is merchandise from the store………

I’m not looking for legal action. I’m looking for accountability. This is a massive corporation and there are more ethical avenues. I had also contacted corporate. Gentleman hung up on me. Called back and was sent directly to voicemail. These corporations are so big and powerful it’s impossible to get an honest answer.

Again. I’m just looking for accountability.

Here’s an idea. It’s ethical so I don’t know if it would work, but here we go. This is going to be crazy but hear me out!

Menards:

*11% rebate on all store items

* Items will be purchased at ticket price and customers in return will be allowed to send in their purchase receipts in to receive their 11% rebate for in store purchases.

(Simply advertising without deception: No “final price” malarkey)

Or

Here’s another option. Menards would surely go for this!

Advertise an actual concrete price of the good, let’s say 1,400.00. Offer a cash back rebate so their current advertising would have ZERO deception. The CASH received from the rebate would in turn actually get you closest to what Menards advertises as “Final Price”

The fact that a huge corporation would have to use these practices to maximize the bottom line is pretty scary. We are ants and Menards is an elephant. Change is not looking good.

Savings on a good and cost of good paid are not one in the same. In Menards case, they are clearly not

Desired outcome: At minimum: I’d like to hear from someone to explain to me why there is no deception in their advertising.

Menards Pressure treated wood fence panels

I bought the menards pre made 100’ fence panel kit. The kit came with posts cement 6’x8’ premade fence panels and enough material to install a gate and all hardware needed.

The kit cam with 12 panels My problem is that on three of the panels the runners were about a foot from the top and bottom while the rest were six inches. Now my fence looks shoddy and uneven not symmetrical. The fence panels themselves are trash. The first and last picket were hanging over the runners so the panel was longer than eight feet. When my poles were set at eight feet apart so the panels fit between.

The runners were also not the same from end to end compounding the problem. These panels could have been built in a jig but looks like they were made in a meth lab or something. I had to cut both sides of every panel to make them work. The pickets themselves were cupped warped knotted up split and chipped on the ends. I’ll spend a lot of time replacing the bad ones. All and all very poor quality and zero quality control on menards part. These are junk. I calculated it is also much cheaper to buy the components and build my own panels. Then I can choose my lumber and get some quality at a cost savings.

Desired outcome: I should get some money back for having to deal with their junk

Menards Rebates from rebates international

Are the rebates, from Menards, becoming a scam to get people to shop there instead of purchasing the same items from other stores? It has become impossible to track your rebate if the receipts, you sent it, approximately 6 weeks ago, do not appear in their tracking system. Also, they do not provide a contact telephone number nor will their system allow you to submit your complaint. Where do I go from here? I have followed their instructions to a tee, and, of course, Menards can't help resolve this issue either.

The 1st receipt rebate amount was for .76 on 6/4/23, 2nd for 1.22 on 6/8/23, 3rd for 1.10 on 6/10/23 and last for $1.64 for $1.64. All purchased were made at your store located in Matteson, IL. If you have any questions, please contact me at [protected]@yahoo.com. Thank you (a loyal customer).

Update...

I received my rebate check today but 2 of the amounts were incorrect. One, on 6/8/2023 was for $1.04, should have been $1.22. The 2nd, on 6/10/2023, was for .99 cents, should have been $1.64. Please send me the remaining balance of the refund. Again, the location the items were purchased at were in Matteson, IL. Thank you for your assistance!

Menards Rebate receipt not provided online

IF You visit a Menards store and pay at the register you will receive a second receipt- a Rebate Receipt. If you follow the rules, you have a decent chance of getting your %11 Rebate in 8 to 10 weeks. But, if you order and pay for your purchase online, you are supposed to get an attachment with your order confirmation email that allows you to print the Rebate Receipt, which you then mail in along with the required rebate form. I have actually done this in the past. But lately, for my last few online purchases, there was NO ATTACHMENT included with the order confirmation email. I even got out my notebook to check my mail there in case it was some sort of android email glitch. But no glitch is there. For my last purchase, I even went in to the store and was advised to go to their kiosks which are supposed to allow you to access your Menard's account, which it indeed does ( using the same credentials used on the app). But neither the kiosks in the store or the app actually lets you print the rebate receipt. You can only print the Purchase Receipt which DOES NOT have the required rebate number . For my last few purchases I have let this go, but now I am fed up with this. This last purchase is supposed to have a $30 rebate which I am not going to receive if they don't email me that attachment. And going to the store's customer service is a ridiculous waste of time. That's where I wasted far too much time after they directed me to the kiosks, only to discover that the kiosk doesn't amount to anything more than what you can do at home. Which is reprint the purchase receipt. I suspect that they knew that when they sent me to their kiosks. So it seems like a scam to me. So Saving Big oney at Menards? Good luck with that.

Menards Rebates

Never received any rebate. Their site says no rebates showing for me. They require you to send in your original receipt, to them by snail mail, then... nothing happens. I purchased all materials to build a Fence around property and SHOULD have gotten near to a $300 rebate and got nothing. And all they say is check the website it will show if something is in the system. SCAM! Why in this day and age dont they have a website you claim the rebate? Why do you have to snail mail your ORIGINAL receipt to them to then never hear about it again.

Desired outcome: I'd love my rebate I should have gotten but not holding my breath :(

Menards Power smart, lawn mower order [protected] - sku 270-3869

Got a text message about a Power Smart Lawn Mower on sale

Bought it online, was never told about some policy involving putting gas in the mower and could get a refund, if there was an issue, had to take it to a service center first. There is only 1 problem, the Warranty Company is a 3rd party company call Amerisun, and you can't take it to a Service Center without Authorization and can't get a list of Service Centers from Amerisun first, problem you get put on hold and no one ever picks up the phone, Called 6 times no response. Tried option 2 for service center, states for parts go to and it gives a website. No service center offered.

I took the mower back to Menards and gave it back, told them I wanted refund or fix it. Not my responsibility to go to a service center. Let Menards do it. I bought it from them. not the warranty company and they made a profit on it.

I used the mower once, and a wheel fell off. There was no gas in it when I returned the lawn mower. The customer Service in Pewaukee WI is terrible. They still have my lawn mower, and I haven't heard anything back from them in over 5 weeks. I was told they were going to reach out to the buyer, for Menards so, they could contact Power Smart, and arrangements to get it to a service center. I never heard anything. Also went online and filed a complaint with Power Smart, generic email thank you for contacting Power Smart, we will get back to you, never heard back from them either.

I'm hoping to get some support, to solve this problem. If not, my next move is small claims court. I'm tired of playing these games. I just copied another complaint from Menards website, with pretty much the same problem, can't get and support from Menards. Menards has my phone number [protected]

Menards I had 2500 dollars worth of lumber shipped to location

I ordered 10 2x4x16 and I got 2x4x14 instead when I called Baxter Menards they told me they had no idea when they could get the 16 foot 2x4 to me and I needed them asap. I had only 5 days to do this job and they didn’t seem to give a [censored] and trued to make it my fault telling me that’s what I ordered and my list says 16 foot no where on the list is there 14 footer. I even talked to store manager same day 7/11/23 at 12:24 pm and got the same song and dance I even offered to send them a picture of the list they wanted no part of it. I very frustrated and hung up on them I’ll never use Menards again.

Desired outcome: I want my 16 footers because of their mistake it coasting me money and time I don’t have, now I have to splice the 14 to make this work. I have to make speak trip to lumber company and buy 8 footers to splice everything together.

Menards Lawn mower

I purchased a brand new gas lawn mower and it does not work. It will not start. I returned it back to the store where I was advised to contact a service center even though it was within the 30 store return policy. I left the store unsatisfied and with a piece of paper that contained a list of repair shops. I called the suggested repair shop the only one that located in Chicago, IL and I was told by them that they do not honor the warranty that I purchased at the store.

I should not be looking for a repair location to take a "brand new lawn mower"

The store manager was not willing to assist me, instead he continued to repeat to me that I need to take the brand new lawn mower to a repair shop. The store policy needs to be looked at and revised. How does Menards expect a customer to purchase a gas lawn mower without putting gas in it to determine if it's working properly or not?

No one expects to purchase a brand new lawn mower and not have it to work at all.

When customer purchase items they expect for them to operate properly and if they do not, customer expect for the item to be replace, refunded, ore repaired. Not to have the store manager tell them "maybe the gas was bad" it's a brand new lawn mower.

Please take this complaint seriously, I am very dissatisfied with my purchas and the level of customer service I received.

Menards Price matching false or you can call it lie statement at Volo, IL store

If you are hearing that Menards will match the price it is a definitely FALSE statement, specifically at the paint department in Volo, IL location.

We called at the store department asking specifically about the 'Cabot' product that Ace hardware had the advertisement in the paper flyer and were told that Menards will match the price. While coming the store, we met the manager of the department and I believe his name was Mike, who confirmed that he will do it looking into the flyer. While sales person started to shake the gallons Mike called him over and in few mins the sales person came over explaining that they cannot do that. The manager did not even come to us to apologize or explain what was the reason he changed his mind..
