My experience with the Memorial Hermann Orthopedic Clinic was completely unacceptable.
I scheduled my appointment a WEEK in advance. The day before the appointment, their office called ME and asked if I could change my appointment time. I was accommodating and agreed to move it an hour earlier. I rearranged my schedule based on the new time THEY gave me.
Then, roughly an hour later, they called again and told me I couldn't have that appointment time after all because someone else had taken the spot.
How does that happen?
Your office contacted me. Your office offered me the new time. I accepted it. Then your office apparently gave that same appointment to someone else.
I'm a patient seeking orthopedic care because I'm dealing with an actual medical problem—not someone casually making plans for the afternoon. Patients organize work, transportation, family responsibilities, and other commitments around medical appointments. Our time matters too.
What bothered me most wasn't simply having an appointment changed. Scheduling problems happen. What bothered me was being asked to accommodate the clinic, doing exactly that, and then being inconvenienced AGAIN because the clinic apparently couldn't keep track of the appointment it had just offered me.
It left me with a very simple question: Why was another patient's appointment treated as more important than the appointment you had just confirmed with me?
For a major healthcare organization, I expected considerably better communication, organization, and respect for a patient's time.
If this is how patients are treated before they even make it through the door, it doesn't inspire much confidence in the rest of the experience.
