Luminess Air charged too much

I watched an informercial on Luminess Air makeup. They offered a 92.00 price if you wanted to pay a one time payment. Otherwise a month's guaranteed offer of 29.95 and return if not satisfied. When I called in my order, it was automated and there was no way to talk to a real person. At the end of the automated order, they said it would be a one time payment of 229.50. I knew this was wrong, but there was no way I could talk to anyone. I thought I would try again on Monday morning since this was Friday after Thanksgiving. I was told that my options were 4 payments of 49.95 plus shipping and handling or one time payment of 229.50 and shipping of 17.50 is free. I told them of the imformercial and they told me those terms never existed. So I was charged 229.50 + 29.95 for free trial + 17.50 shipping and handling. They were rude, it was almost as you were talking to them you realized you had been scammed. And I watched the Luminess informecial this week and other than the trial cost of 29.95, they did not discuss price. I wonder is the week of Thanksgiving, they ran a scam, because one was not able to talk to a real person until Monday. I am sending it back unopened. Wish me luck that I get some of my money refunded.

Luminess Air didn't honor return

Ordered luminesse air was very excited(love make-up)I used it as soon as it arrived PLEASE DONT BUY! It was horrible! I even called the company to state that I would be returning it she talked me into trying for at least a day or 2 and that they would extend my return lets just say they lied would not except return I cant believe they are still in business! I will tell anyone or write anyone to please dont buy this You can got to the hobby store get an airbrush use waterbased makeup thinned down and achieve same result without getting ripped off.

Folks, I just contacted the Federal Trade Commission. Their number is [protected]. I filed an official complaint. It only takes a few minutes. The FTC rep told me they will open up an investigaiton only after receiving multiple complaints. I also contacted the BBB. Amazed that his company has an A+ rating.

I ordered the Luminess Air makeup over a month ago, I have yet to recieve it, although they are still taking the money out of my bank account. I called customer service, and i honeslty got nowhere with them. I really want the product, or i would like to get a refund. I don't know what else to do.

Luminess Air totally displeased with the product

I ordered the airbrush sytem in 2008. I was totally displeased with the product. Its was sticky and it splattered and when I tried to clean it out, the tool was so fragile it fell apart. So when I tried to send it back for them to repair it, they gave me a non working number and then kept trying to troubleshoot with me (As if I would be able to repair it after messing it up) and would not accept it. I even agreed to pay for the damages and they refused to let me send it back for repairs or get my money back. So I cancelled the debit card it was billed to and never will do that again!

Luminess Air purposeful overcharge of my account & lack of professional integrity

Recently I too purchased the so-called "revolutionary Luminess Air Makeup system." I must say, I was not the least bit impressed with the product, nor the price. Here's why, I found that these products were not formulated for the various African American shades as seen on TV. It was a complete waste of time and money, reason being that of the 6 vials of makeup received, I could only use one (Matte #8) since I am a caramel complexion. In addition, I also received a pearl shimmer, a pink blush, and a bronzer that I could not use on my skin. When I relayed this information to Selena in customer service and Joel the customer service supervisor, I was told that I should use the products "in my hair!" (lol) That is totally unprofessional & absurd-if not just completely ###ic! The most upsetting part of my experience with this company is that I was promise that my card would be charged $29.99 as a 30 day trial fee, plus $17.50 shipping & handling (which is non-refundable). However, what these immoral, unethical, scandalous scam artists do not tell you is that they initially charge your credit card the full amount of $248.87. If that is not enough, when I called the company to inform them of this charge, I was informed that "our automated system may have thought you wanted to pay in full before your 30 day free trial completed, so instead of billing you $49.99 in four installments, it just charged you one time, but that saves you money." What? Needless to say, after only having the system a day I requested a Return Authorization (RA) number and am sending the system back via FED EXPRESS (PROOF OF DELIVERY OF COURSE). I have learned to get a Tracking number when dealing with a greedy organization that lacks integrity( as this company) -this is the safest thing to do for legal purposes. In addition to this, I filed a formal complaint against Luminess Air, LP with the Better Business Bureau because I do not feel that this Foreigner- owned company should profit by misleading hard working Americans. Obviously this company can not be trusted. You know the saying, " If you can't trust the messenger, then do not believe their message! DO NOT BE DUPED!

I had wanted to try this product for years thinking with my sensitive skin, this would be a great find. WRONG! This makeup breaks me out just a couple of hours after putting it on! Called customer service and was told they would send out a matte finish makeup that should correct the issue. Well, it looks the same but in a different color line. I told the rep not to send any more makeup until I saw if the "New" makeup would help. The next thing I know, a new charge shows up on my bank account. Find out additional makeup had been sent! When it arrived, it wasn't colors even close to what I had already received! Don't know who they belong too but it won't match my skin. Now, I can't get the return site to give me a number. Keeps telling me the items aren't eligible for return! What the crap!

I have been trying for a week to talk to someone on the phone or internet, no such thing, finally got someone to write me back and she gave a me a website to go to to get my RA #, the website is not working to get the #. and I get on the address she gave me, it does NOT give me a RA#. this is the biggest mess I have ever had to deal with. and yeah the ph operater sure knows how to talk you into stuff too. I was NOT aware that $75.22 would be immediately charged to my cc either, they DID NOT TELL ME THAT. I called my order in and have kept all of my letters and recorded conversation, and I want my RA# SO i CAN RETURN IT AND i WILL GET ON THIS INTERNET AND TELL EVERYONE WHAT A SCAM THIS COMPANY IS IF i DON`T GET MY PROBLEM FIXED. I want credit refunded back to my cc and I DO NOT WANT ANYMORE put back on my cc. I do`nt like the product and I am a professional, and am used to using products like this, and this does NOT work good, for all the HASSLE I have had to go through. I know you all are trying to let my trial time run out. Then I really will be p, off.

I too purchased this luminess air system and am getting the run around to get that RA number to return because the system and especially RA number soon cause my 30 days are almost up and I paid in full. So unhappy but especially see something funny about this company. Bonita Blessing

I'm A Master Cosmetologist (its just another name for tax em) Anyhow, Most Reputable Distributors Give Stylists A Price Break On Equipment, Product etc. I Even Purchase Pharmaceutical Grade Glycolic Skin Care With My License. Its Part Of The Gig. Everyone Breaks Even..I Want To Purchase It For My Mother. Shes In Love With It..FYI..Calling Around To Your Local Sally's Beauty Supply For A Typical Airbrush Machine For Nails..No Airbrush Machine Uses Oil Based Anything Really. It Would Clog The Nozzel..That's Why The Nail Tech Lets It Dry And Tells You Not To Wash Your Hands Until She Puts The Clear Coat On. Its Water Based Paint Too.The Tiny Air Brushes Are Almost Indestructible Unless You Run It Over With A Mack Truck or Something. Although, Easy Handling The Needle At The Tail End...Now, You Will Have To Pay Separate For The Air Compressor And Make Sure Its Not The Kind Rednecks Use At The Hunt Camp. They Are Too Loud.. That's The Catch..Its A Mini 2 Way Compressor That Has Been Modified. Watching at late night, I called these people about the airbrush makeup. The announcer
said to try it and if in 30 days you were not satisfied to send it back---money back guarantee.
The next day (hadn't re'v Makeup) I fall and break my hips. I've been in the hospital for 2 1/2 months and am still under doctor care w/a home crew. I did not see not know anything about this product as I was fighting for my life. In the meantime Luminess has been sending little bottles of makeup (2) over and overand over again. Meanwhile I know nothing about it as I'm in the hospital. My bank showed where they had taken $26.00 and also $59.99 and they are sending me the list w/more withdrawals have been made. I will gladly send product back. I WANT MY MONEY BACK THAT THEY STOLE.I am 67 yrs. old and draw 1 ck per mo. I feel like I should be given my money back as 1.) I need it 2.) It's not right for a company to exploit customers by charging unbelievable amts. of money and so often. No monthly thing--they send as much as they can. I want everyone to know what CHEATERS AND LIARS THEY ARE. I will contact the network, Visa, BBB, etc. How many other people have they exploited? I think we should get these people honest or get them out of business. Sincerely, Bobbie Evans

Luminess Air deceitful company

This company is the worst! I spent a lot of money on the Luminess Air foundation package. I did not open it for awhile as I was saving it to use for a special occasion. When I did open it, the stylus was missing. I called and spoke with them but they would not send me one or give me a discount on a replacement part since it was past the initial 30 days. They told me that they had weighed the package before they sent it to me, so the stylus must have been in the package. If they had weighed it, they would have known that the stylus was missing! Luminess Air ripped off!

I ordered this product less than one month ago and it does not work. I called to get a return authorization number and was given that BUT was told that the amount I paid for would not be refunded. When I originally ordered the product I was not sure of my color, so I ordered an additional set of foundation. This set was never opened, but the company will not refund the money I paid EVEN IF I return the product to them and they reuse it. This is a rip off and unacceptable business practices in the United States. It is my understanding that the company has done business as something else two years ago. That means that they have another year left on Luminess Air before they switch up and defraud someone else with another fake claim. So in essence, I have paid $76.00 for a 25 day trial of make up that doesn't work. God bless the USA. Perhaps I'm in the wrong business!

Luminess Air scam alert

My wife purchased an air brush cosmetic product she thought was $65 with additional purchases for make-up. She attempted to cancel (in July I think) but was unable to do so. She left several voice mails with no response. Since that time this company has continued to attempt to charge our credit card on a monthly basis. I researched and found several other people on the internet had similar complaints and on a lark, tried calling the customer service number. The company absolutely refused to accept a return, event though the product never did what it claimed. The phone representative was abusive, threatening to sue us and even stated my wife was probably afraid of me. I want them to take this thing back, refund the money we have paid, and stop charging our credit card.

Luminess Air not allowed to cancel

If you should decide, in a moment of weakness, to try luminess, know that if you change your mind in the middle of ordering, you cannot cancel! Your order is taken by an automated voice and, no matter how many times you press "0," to reach a human being, or yell into the phone that you want to cancel your order, no one will respond because no one is there.

Should you call the company the next day, most likely you will get routed from department to department to departmen to department to department, also by an automated voice. Again, not allowing you to speak to a human being to cancel your order. — or even to press a button to do so.

By the third day, if you do finallly reach someone, most likely his or her english will be poor, heavily accented and very difficult to understand. When I told one of the luminess representative from india to please cancel my order, she replied: "business is slower on tuesdays and thursdays." what? Also, be aware that what you read on their web site as their cancellation policy apparently really isn't. I was told they have a whole other policy for "trial periods" — one that I couldn't find anywhere on their web site. But, to my understanding, the one I couldn't see is the one that "really counts."

I also learned that you cannot refuse the package when it arrives. According to a rep from the southgate, mi, u. S. Postal service, the way luminess has it set-up, you have to pay the return postage plus luminess will charge you an additional fee of between $30.00 and $40.00 to cancel your order. If that's not enough, you cannot return the package via u. S. Postal service, you must drive to a fed-ex office. But not just any fed-ex office. It has to be a sub-station. And not just any sub-station. It has to be a ground sub-station, not an air sub-station, as I time-consumingly learned. Good luck finding one. The nearest one to my home was about 40 miles away. But, should you find the right sub-station and pay to return the package, it will be back on your doorstep within a a day or two. Why? Because, I was told, you cannot refuse to accept the package! So, there it was again, back on my front porch.

Should you decide to forego refusal of the package and send it — again at your expense (Another $12.00) — ia regular mail, you'll get it back again. Why? Because, I was later told, you have to have an authorization number (Good luck getting one of those) or luminess will return the package to you. How very convenient. They can refuse to accept the package, but you can't!

The rectangular white box is now back again. So
You call luminess and wade through all the various departments and people (Who will try extremely hard to sell you something else), then learn that you now have to open the box and put the authorization code on the packing slip inside, as well as on the outside of the package. If you don't do this, luminess will once again refuse to accept the package. The problem is, if you open the box, you could possibly be opening yourself to accusations and raiding of your bank account if the product is in any way damaged, if the package is opened and the airbrush machine damaged, you could be accused of breaking it and become liable for the over-$200 cost, plus the nearly $40.00 cancellation fee.

I was also told that if I "blogged" anything about the company, went on tv, commented in a newspaper (I'm a former reporter) or used any other public forum (Which I said I would do), they would keep my money. If I kept my mouth shut, they would "graciously" return $39.95 — but keep the $72.00. I was also told that if I did let the public know about their practices, that "the sword cuts two ways." does that sound like a threat to you?

I've had to cancel my credit/debit card at the bank, close my account, contact every company to which I had paid a bill or ordered something on-line to explain, file complaint papers with the texas attorney general's office, complete more papers for my bank's fraud department, and fill-out papers to, hopefully, get the $72.00 "trial period" fee and $39.95 cancellation fee back.

Even though I was on the phone with the automated voice for only 2-3 minutes, tried to cancel, and even hung up in hopes that the order hadn't gone through, the grasping, greedy hand of luminess refuses to loosen its hold on my money — which I truly need.

This company must be stopped.

Your customer service department does not help. Will not give an address to return stuff. The only option we have is to cancel our cards, as you cause financial hardship and have false advertising. Your customer service made promises that my card would never be charged and yet you still keep charging. I have contacted BBB and a lawyer.

I am totally scared by reading these comments. I got my "30 day trial offer" today. The makeup bottle was damaged and there was makeup all over the inside of the box. In reading the Terms and Conditions on the packing slip (not on their website?), I realized I didn't want to be committed to receiving makeup every two months at a $39.95 charge. Who spends that much on foundation every month, month in and month out? I decided to return the package and followed the instructions to get an RA #. They were closed but their phone system says it can be done online, which I did do. Read the fine print, people! It clearly says on the packing slip that the "trial period" payment is non-refundable, so I am out the $39.95 (how did it even get up to this price when the offer said $19.95?) OK, I am resigned to the fact that I have to pay to return it and then probably won't get close to $50 back. There was a second charge to my card of $9.95, perhaps for shipping, but why did they have to place two separate charges? Never mind, what really worries me know is how all of you were not able to cancel and had to cancel your card. Just be careful to read all the fine print. Don't know if that will really preclude this from happening to anyone else because as others have stated, all the "conditions" were not spelled out upfront. The word needs to get out there; how can these people even be on TV? Oh, I took pictures of the damaged makeup bottle and didn't open anything except the outer box. I'm included the pictures in the box when I return it so they can see that it was damaged when I got it.

I advice people before you buy from Luminess-Air Please please read this reviews! They are a SCAM! They LIE LIE and LIE. You get transfer from dept to dept and you never ever get a RA#. I will be reporting them to BBB and if necessary I will hire an attorney and maybe other people will submitt theirs too. I have not authorize this fraudulent fees to my CC and will do everything I can to let people know they are a scam! DO NOT BUY!Contact your BBB and file a report let's try to get this off the air and out of business. enough people have been ripped off.

I wrote no I really apologize for that ma'am know you guys don't apologize for anything because you don't put the money back in anyone's account when you take it out for no reason what is this thing cost $1, 000 for something that's a hundred sixty bucks that's royally screwed up you guys are liars cheats scam artist and you shouldn't be allowed to get anyone's credit card ever I'm pissed I should get a free machine for my trouble and the deluxe version I'm telling everyone to get the one at Walmart for 40 bucks

The commercial shows that it covers like people out of the movies when I got it here it barely covered and I had to use so many drops to fill the hole that goes into the gun that it wasted almost a whole bottle then you guys proceeded to charge my boyfriend's bank account for the monthly fee of the makeup and I had already had the trial makeup which I didn't get in the beginning of when I got it shipped to me as well as you guys were taking $90 in two days for my boyfriend's account and you guys never stated that we would be renting it for the first initial $60 and you guys aren't taking it on the 16th of every month when you were supposed to add two weeks to the date that I actually got it which I couldn't use because the makeup wasn't even in there also I I expected to get the deluxe model because that's what we had ordered and originally we were supposed to get one and one free which we never even received originally so we had to reorder and thinking that we were going to get the deluxe model as well we got some trial starter version of the Luminess which completely pissed me off I had to wait over 2 weeks for the makeup to arrive after the machine was shipped to me I wasn't expecting to rent the machine for the first initial month not having it taken off the total cost $60 and then two additional payments of $49 and be done why would I want to order more makeup when I already have makeup because I had to wait over half a month to receive it the ones that came with the machine weren't even my color they were for someone that was of a darker complexion I am two shades off of the lightest shade I got stuff delivered to me that was for someone that was in the African American origin oh we really apologize for that man

Please do not call the customer service line but instead call the Makeup Club Department @
[protected] after 8:30 am central time. A live human being will answer and will help take care of your account. After several attempts with the customer service line I became frustrated too. I went online to see if there was a cancellation area I could cancel my membership. None. After cancellation, you should receive an email notifying of your cancellation. I hope this helps with future women and customers in the future who purchased from luminess. -Devlin

I too have been taken by these scam artists & STILL AM NOT CANCELLED even though I sent in my system insuted it etc but its been months & they go sneak 40 out my account! Oh heck no they finally have got the WRONG consumer! I told her MY SMEAR GAME TOPS YOUR SCAM GAME & got a call from a manager but im STILL NOT CANCELLRD since they seem to receive NOTHING from anyone & now im waiting on a case with usps once i get this # ooohhh... I got yall WE ARE TAKING THEM DOWN! I cancelled my card today.

I eventually had to submit to my family lawyer. I tried multiple times to cancel order # [protected] unsuccessfully. After recording our last conversation, and listening to the representative's excuses for not being able to cancel my account, I had to crack up in her ear. I guess they think they can keep getting away with this illegal practice. Luminess Air will be out of business soon and all of their cheated customers will rejoice. Who really has time to deal with this stupid company and their ridiculous customer service excuses. It should be considered for the next outrageously stupid funny SNL skit.

Luminess Air Over-charge + scam

Who played back to me the recording of my order. At no time, was "it emphasized" the real cost, etc. She says I owe some $265 to the company. I have no bill, they will not give me a return #.

I ordered Lumineers and I tried the trial for $19 well I ordered another machine because the first one got clogged up however the prices change for the monthly so I decided to return both machines months later they sent me a letter saying I ordered the third machine and if I didn't pay it that they would put it on my credit and add additional $20 i to my balance. The charge notice came in a pink piecepaper The envelope it came in didn't he even have an address on where it was from. These people are true scams

I also have been having trouble cancelling. They won’t answer my call and then they responded to an email. I said I want to cancel all subscriptions and they charged me yet again!

I ordered one sometime ago. I returned it n after sometime, I got confirmation that they recieved it back however now I am getting billed again. Upon calling customer care, I was told that they couldn't help me n upper management were too busy to deal with this!

I would not order from them. I do like the air brush system I feel the makeup doesnt stay on all day but my issue was being over charged and was told i would get a refund and points and i never got the refund so i called and it took over a month and I did not get even close to what me and the first person i talked to dicussed. Every week i would call and they would tell me it will be in my account by end of the week and for over a month it wasn't. Then the point i do have they won't let me redeem any of them. I am very dissapointed about many things and how it was handled.

luminess air is fraud i order when the commercial was in the air said if you order know you only pay 19.95 and icall thesy tall me .yes that is the praice and then they charge my crdit card .61.95 i call them and they tall me that the lady dint not explian me very well and they dont whant to return the money

This company operates like the public is under a hitler regime. it's a cheap # sorry business practice to mislead ppl about the price on their commercial. never do they state their price total, nor the monthly cost, you'll be billed two times a month. stupid scam because they say absolutely you can return within 30 days. then you type in search engine luminess return policy & states right there no return after 14 days

cancel your debit card you used to order it, they cant take any more money once you do and they cant get you for anything either

I just got scammed by luminess. First of all the commercial said try the product for $29.99 so I called about half way through the call the recording said that it will be $59.99 to try the product. I was upset but I said what the hell I really want to try the product so I proceeded with the order, big mistake. The next day my account was charged for a total of $208 and some change. I called the company and told them to cancel my order. They cancelled the order but could not provide a cancellation number its been five days and the money still has not been put back into my account. Funny how they can take the money within 24 hours but it takes so long to put it back in your account. I think we should file a class action against this company for false advertisement and bank fraud. All for class action suit because they misled ppl. cancel your credit or debit cards or they will keep charging you. they can't make you return by "fed ex only"! against the law.

Luminess Air don't buy it – it's a scam

This company is a rip-off. Tried to send back the luminess airbrush before the end of the 30 day trial, they refused it and sent it back. When I called them to find out why they said it didn't matter since it was now past the 30 days. They have continued to try to make debits on my credit card and threaten collections. The phone number at collections does not actually connect you with anyone and the customer service line does not work (get a not valid number recording).

It's not worth the money and definitely not worth the hassle, they just want to scam you out of your money.

I signed up for a try it out subscription that has chanted me $116.00 and continues to hit my account over and over again for $52.00! I just want out! This is purely criminal. Even after snatching money from my account you’re harassing me with untruths of no payment! I literally have the PROOF! I was charge $52 4 times!

I have contacted you 3 months ago to stop auto-delivery because I'm not wearing the makeup and I don't like the airbrush i paid for so, please cancel the auto-delivery you keep sending the makeup, and I don't want it plus I know that this won't help and I have tried calling several times with no results

The product turns itself on and I can't shut it off unless it's plugged in and the red and purple lights are flashing and it keeps turning itself on over and over. And really I think I should be sent a new product.

Just go the replacement for the one that never worked. This one worked one day…charged it and it will not spray! What has happened to your product? I’ve had this for a week and it only sprayed once. The blue light is on…yet will not work

I called and told the rep what was happening with my brezze. they said they would replace it and i havent heard anything else. This was on the 12 of july. I cannot use my makeup.

I called and was told that if I bought the machine in full there would be no more charges. This was a Christmas gift for a niece and I just checked my bank account and you charged me 39.95 for something. DO NOT EVER USE BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY LIE AND STEAL YOUR MONEY...

Hey Ladies, I feel ur pain...they sent me to collections while the darn thing sat in the box waiting for an RA# which is almost impossible to get! Anyway, THE RETURN ADDRESS IS:
