Our state taxes were not done correctly. She (Dewana) added our state taxes in twice so we got back more than we were supposed too. So we owe the state now $161.00. We got a letter a week ago. The owner was supposed to call us but after a week of waiting, he never had. Liberty only pays penalties and interest ONLY..So far it was $20.14 up to May 2025. Big Deal..We have to pay $161.00. She used to do our taxes all the time but the 2022 was not done right. The owner told her he would give us the money back we paid to have our taxes done..No owner or money has called or showed after waiting. We were told to be on the lookout for a letter from the IRS also wanting money. We are on Social Security and in our 70's..Never will I use them again.
Recommendation: Go somewhere else to have yur taxes done correctly. They may look done but 2 yrs from now you might get a letter.

Your return was mishandled which makes it seem like you overclaimed, leading you to suffer the consequences while they try to shift blame. That is negligence. Not issuing the promised refund adds further insult. With your age and income, you shouldn’t have this added stress. They owe you more than $20; it’s not pity money, but rather, they owe the full amount due. Cowards for hiding after causing the problem.
We got a check and not a Liberty Tax check for what we paid to have our taxes done $136.00 and $20.14 for penalties for May and that's all. Not the $161.00 we owe the state because she did not watch what she was doing.Spent a week for the owner to finally call. Also was there in person and called 3 times before he finally called us. We have to use that money to pay the state. So I lost all around. I paid the $136.00 the first time and now have to pay the state with it. Gained nothing. They skated out of paying. Do not use them..Go somewhere else..
