I came to Liberty tax on 03/24/2011 to file my 2010 tax. The person did my tax (HER NAME IS DAWN). she said i own IRS $48 and the fee for file tax is $60. I did pay $48 through her, so she can send to IRS for me, also the fee. On 02/13/2012, i did receive the letter from Franchise tax said that they need the proof of the payment . I did call DAWN many times the same day i receive this letter, she promise she will email the copy of the receipt to me, but she does not do it. I am very disappoint about her, she is not reliable person, until now i have not receive email from her. Please, help me to solve this matter.

As with the other Liberty offices in Lakeland (and I would suppose all Franchisees) this office required the applicant to pay ($99.00) for class material and then attend 10 weeks (2 nights a week @4hours) to qualify for hiring. The applicants are not paid for class time; nor reimbursed for class material; nor reimbursed for the cost $64.50 for attaining the IRS PTIN all preparers must have. These expenses were promised to be reimbursed by the branch manager teaching the class. I was hired by another franchisee at the recommendation of my teaching manager. The new franchisee, Sheraton Yee, also told me he would reimburse me for the PTIN. Never has happened. Also, you must take at least one test to be considered for hire, that takes another 3 hours you are not paid for. The second level test is also 3 hours without pay.
The training class teacher would never commit to a pay range while we were in class - it is very low for the qualifications you go through. The pay practices by the franchisee is patchwork at best and never paid on time.
This is an out of control money machine for the benefit of the franchisee.

Mistake on my 2009 taxes, received letter 12/2011 I owed 2, 000 from 2009. I went there with the statement and they agreed there mistake and would pay the late fees and penalty, still nothing I received. I made the mistake letting Goran Lojpur do my taxes this year as he has been working with me on this mistake and telling me I should receive a check for late fees, and would do taxes for free for the inconvenience, and the nerve of him after all this to E-file my return this year with no signed consent, my check was mailed to liberty tax and they kept 330.00 which was half my check and fees for E-file. I was handed a Bank Check, never even seen my original tax check. It sounds illegal to me to do without me signing for it I was told from few people to contact a state attorney which is what I plan to do

Usually every year I prepare my own taxes, but this year my boyfriend and I decided to try out LibertyTax and do a consultation before filing. Also, our roommate had recently filed with LibertyTax and said he only had to pay about $70 and left us a good review. We thought why not, if we don't like it, we can do it ourselves. While there, the tax preparer was inputting our w-2 information and not once did he inform us that we were able to get a consultation rather than filing our taxes right away. I felt we were tricked into filing with LibertyTax since we were not informed properly of receiving consultation. The tax preparer says to me, "Normally we charge about $200 for our services, but I can give you a discount since you're not getting much back." I believe, purposely, the tax preparer kept saying 'discount this, discount that' to hide the actual cost and not telling me what the price drop was going to be. I was expecting it to be a good deal, which I found out too late that it wasn't! When I virtually signed the papers, little did I know how much was going to be taken out of my taxes! Example: refund amount was in the 900 and minus the fees, it came to 700. That 7 could mistakenly take for a 9 by anyone. And that's what happened to me. Then they did not tell me that LibertyTax has its own debit card we could put our refund on instead of receiving a check. I received the check and was unable to find a place to cash it. On top of the LibertyTax charges, I had to have $32 taken out to get it cashed!

I feel I got robbed for $200+ out of taxes! When I talked to the tax preparer, he says he was not able to do anything about that. I was furious! Will I recommend LibertyTax to my friends and family? I was going to until I realized how much I was charged! It was not professional and wrong of LibertyTax or the preparer to have done what he did. I just wish I did not go into LibertyTax that evening to get my taxes prepared. I would much rather have had a consultation. LibertyTax thrives on customer services and getting the most out of peoples tax refund? YEAH RIGHT!

I would be glad to hear back from someone from LibertyTax about this. Bad review! I would greatly appreciate a refund. I'm prepared to send my review out to many, many people so the review gets heard and people are cautious when considering to file their taxes with LibertyTax.

Me and my husband used you're services this year and are very displeased the person we filed with did not have use claim our tabs, we did not get the correct amount of money back for being married, there were many other things we missed out on also, like my home heating credit. We will NEVER use you're service again. And then when I call the young man who did our taxes (Dani) he hangs up on me this is so unprofessional I will let everyone I know about our experience and in my eyes liberty tax owes us money. You guys SUCK at the Waterford office on highland road. *very displeased customer.

Well I went to my local liberty tax service to have my taxes done there for the first time and they charged me $362 dollars for a $887 dollar refund. For a simple individual 1040Ez, with one W-2, a 1099G, a EIC 8867 single no child, and a State. Which all took about less than 20min to do. I made less than $9000 last year which makes me a low income individual. So just before they were going to file my taxes E-file, The manager took a look at my return and admitted that the prep fees were high and willingly discounted my prep fees $50 dollars and continued and I was looking at receiving a $515 refund. I was somewhat happy with the 50 dollar discount that she willingly made or maybe because of the $50 dollars I didnt have I now have walking out with it in my hand. But I still was hesitant about it.in any way though I still felt like I was overcharged when I walked out that door, when I got home it still didn't seem right so I called back and told them that I felt like it was too much still. I never ever remembered paying more than $200 dollars with H and R for a individual return. So the manager told me to come down the next day and said she would give me another $50 dollars to make it right. So I took the money and left it at that. Paying a total amount of $212 dollars in prep fees. Happy about the prep fees? A little bit. Them trying to take advantage of me? Pretty mad that they would pull something like that.

We had our taxes done at this Liberty Tax Service in Ringgold, GA. We have had nothing but problems with Andy (Manager) and his staff since. We filed on the 17th of January, with the word of this establishment that our refund would be in 7-12 days. It has been 14 as of today. Every time we call, we are told a different story. One that came straight from Andy was "The IRS shut down for several days and did not process any refunds. It was on the news; didn't you see it?" I preformed a google search and NO SUCH THING HAPPENED! These people are a bunch of scam artists and I would never again use this service! I will return to H and R Block for my tax purposes.

Liberty Tax Service is a fraud! I encourage anyone to stay away from this business. You are better off filing your taxes online. The so called $50.00 cash in a flash is just to lure you to their business. Think about. Its like someone is saying "hey, i'll give you my $50.00 bill in exchange for your two $100.00 bills?" By the time you end up paying the fees, your basically paying them back the $50.00!

do not go to school for learning taxes at the liberty tax school in San Angelo. for that matter, do not get your taxes done there either. the instructor's are a laugh! all you do is forms, read out loud, and get tested nothing is explained to you. it is a rip off and I saw how there finest tax prepares prepares taxes again what a laugh, a waste of my time and money. and there software for preparing taxes, do not bother with them, go to turbo taxes instead. I have prepared taxes before and out of all 3, Jackson Hewett, h @ r and liberty, [protected]@ r wins hands down.

I admit I was fully in the wrong by not filing taxes for a few years, and it caught up with me. So I went to the local Liberty tax service to get my federal and state taxes done. I was told it would be 205.00 per year. I thought that was high but they could get them done quickly. Then after the first few years were done the gal doing my taxes and the owner Mike said that they were going to give me a discount (175.00 per yr) because he knew what I was going threw, because he had been there himself. I was missing some W-2's for my state returns but had all the info for my federal. It took nearly 1 yr to gather all the missing w-2's due to the fact many of the companys were no longer in business. So when I went back to finish the state taxes I was billed an ADDITIONAL 60.00 per yr per state! Because I as work in Missouri and live in Kansas with 1 yr Iowa was also included it cost me 180 for state returns! The lady helping me called Mike about the billing when I told her that these were already paid for and gave me the phone where Mike completly denied the previous agreement and I was charged an additional 540.00 for a total of 2115.00 for 7 yrs of taxes. Over $300.00 per year! far mor than the 205.00 that I was originallyb quoted.

When I took my taxes to Liberty Tax Services the preparer gave me a form to sign that indicated I would receive a return of over $1500 with their fee already deducted. When I went to pick up my refund I discovered the return had come to them; they deducted fees of $702! and I only received $435. When I asked for the preparer, I was told he was no longer employed there but that the District manager had completed my return. The sole remaining employee (on April 18) told me the District manager was only available by phone. I have phoned the number on their cards and tried faxing. Initially I got a recording and left my name and numbers. I wrote them a letter requesting refund of the exorbitant overcharge. As of May 10, I have no response from either means of contact. The phone number now gives a disconnected notice.

I filed my taxes with them march 4th and the store manerger told me that they were being odidted and there was a delay on the income tax return. I called liberty tax customer help line and they told me that my card was malied to the liberty tax office already. no one called me and told me my card was available, that my card had been activated already! I dont get it how was it activated if I never got it... I hope I can get a good lawyer to sew them for my money!

Liberty Tax Service prepared my taxes, and the preparer submitted the taxes with out having all the documents, which in turn made me have to submit a Amended Tax form, and to further make things worst they failed to admit to the mistake trying to blame me. They refused to refund my money forcing me to sue them. They charged $450.00 to prepare a 750 dollar tax return

Do not use liberty! It has been a nightmare! We originally went to liberty to prepare our 2009 taxes we thought that it went ok it wasn't until we returned for our 2010 taxes that we found that they messed up our 2009 north carolina return. To start with we had a coupon that they would not honor because we were not new customers mind you that was never cited on the coupon. When we agreed to allow them to go ahead and prepare our taxes is when it all went down hill. That is when they told me that I was wrong on my knowledge of my 2009 taxes I paid north carolina and they had on file that I got a return. When I showed my proof (cancelled check) I was told that wasn't correct. I had then asked for them to fix it and they said it wasn't a big enough deal to fix. We filed on feb 4, 2011 and we waited until the 17th. By then we hadn't gotten our return and I called them and asked. They hadn't even filed my taxes until the 14th! They do have a written gaurntee that you will get your money back and they will not honor that! I did take my taxes to h&r block for their free second look and they found numerous mistakes. I went back in and the owner yelled at me and told me that I was worthless and causing too many problems. I then got a hold of the manager and she filed an amendment finally a month later they relized they were wrong. I still haven't recieved my refund on march 9 so I called the irs to see what was going on and I was told there were so many errors that they have my taxes on hold and are completley reprocessing them and I will be lucky if I get a return by april 1. I then called them and they still will not help me or refund my money!

I followed up on a discount promotion for a $50 tax preparation fee;when I get there the preparer quoted $69.00 because I requested the return go to their office due to mail theft at my apartment. I was to receive $1350.00 back. I left trusting all was in order, but when home I had some one review the paper work given to me. It said they charged me over $400.00 dollars. I was shocked returned the next day demanding to stop the filing. I was given more paper work saying I had a loan coming. I said no I do not want a loan; I need all the money possible. After an argument the Preparer Stephanie P00585715 agree to stop the filing. The next day a man whosaid he was the owner called me requesting I come down there to speak with him. He said I had to except the filing charges, I protested and left. Three and a half weeks later he called stating to pick up the return money or loose it. He offered to knock off $100 off the charges but never did that either. There were two other discount coupons I quantified for;a $20 discount customer referral: code receipt no. 272, and a $50 donation for the homeless discount, but they did not honor those as well. They also promote a complete money back service guarantee if not satisfied. I requested my fee back and what he did instead was unbelievable; he laughed and made a money offer for sex.

This place is a complete joke. The owner Mika is probably one of the rudest people I have ever come in contact with. DONT bother calling corporate either... they are about as worthless as can be when it comes to your issue. They just re-route you back to the rude manager you already dealt with.

I was scheduled for an appointment... cancelled two hours before after I rearranged my schedule to make it.

The boss will not even call me back to this point (MIKA) she has her employees do the work for her.

I filed my taxes on January 21st. I chose the RAL. At the time I was told the fees would be around $360. High, but around what I normally paid at Jackson Hewitt. I received part of my refund the same day, as promised. However, I was told the rest would come in 8-15 days. It took a month! When it did come, it wasn't what I was expecting. Turns out they charged me $524 in fees! When I went into the office to not only pick up my copy of the tax return, but to complain, they said that the fees were $434 PLUS $90 fee for the bank. This was not what I was told at the time! I will NEVER go back. Also, they wouldn't give me a copy of my return until after my refund came. NEVER AGAIN WILL I MAKE THIS MISTAKE!

I worked for rowan hoose at the liberty tax off of camden ave in san jose and I will tell you this if you are ever offered to work for this man run! He is a liar and a cheat! Not only did he not pay my full wages due to me but he also lies to his clients about their tax returns as well as lie to his corporate office about the money he is or is not charging for his serivces. When I went in to get my pay this man had the audacity to take $350 from my pay to supposedly have the locks re-keyed and new keys made for the employees even after I gave him his keys back. I was told by the labor board that this is illegal and he can not do that under any circumstances. He is even trying to tell others that work for him lies about me that I tried to sleep in his office. This is so far beyond from the truth that its not funny. I have not ever tried to sleep in his office and I have proof that I have been sleeping in hotels/motels for quite some time. I also have a witness who can tell you that I wasnt trying to sleep there just went online to find a cheap hotel to stay at since I had gotten help from my church to do so. I a disabled homeless mother of three and he took advantage of this because he knew that I was starting to question his policies regarding his supposed free returns. I have stayed on numerous occasions at the office late (after hours) to either go online to look for a place to stay or live as well as come in on my days off to do this or to help out when needed. Now because I am questioning him on his work ethics it has becaome a problem. He just doesnt want the truth to be known about what it is that he is really doing. This man is an a*hole who has no compassion for people and is so self absorded that it will make you cry. He charges people to do their taxes returns and then lies to his corporate office and tells them that he has done certain tax returns for free when he has not. He will charge the clients in either cash or check and rather than reproting this to corporate he says that it was done as a free return so that he may then pocket the money he is getting for these returns. Never ever go to this man to have your taxes done. All he cares about is being able to take his yearly trip to hawaii with his girlfriend. He cant even pay his employees on time and complains about the amount of money he is giving them which is just above minimum wage and not worth the hassle you have to go through to get it.

I worked for Liberty Tax in Pensacola on Mobile Hwy. I have had trouble getting my pay for hours worked. I was to get paid my first pay day on January 29, 2011. I was to get paid on a visa card, after requesting a check. After complaining, my pay was finally put on a visa card on January 31, 2011. I have moved to North Carolina and was to get paid again on Feb. 12, 2011, for hours worked. After calling the visa card on Feb. 15, 2011, I was informed my pay was not on my visa card AGAIN. I contacted my supervisor, Jeannie Thouvenin, and was informed she did not have the time to correct the "mistake". Now I still do not have my pay at 9:00 am on Feb. 16, 2011, that was due to me on Feb. 12, 2011. I NEED and WANT my pay immediately! My name is Toni Seitz, this was my fourth year working for Liberty Tax, and this has always been a problem in the Pensacola Office.
