Delayed surgery because they didn’t have a dr with the right expertise. Now they are sending me to their dr that has never performed such a complex surgery. That dr is 2.5 hours away and not avail for another 1.5 month. I have 10 broken ribs a collapsed lung and need chest wall reconstruction. They won’t refer to a specialist that isn’t in network

Claimed loss: Delaying surgery means more pain during surgery, recovery and a longer and less successful outcome post op is likely

Desired outcome: A simple referral to a local expert nearby would be perfect but they won’t refer outside network. Instead they are sending me 2.5 hours away to a dr that isn’t qualified to do the work.
