I lost my hearing in one ear, I went to the ENT department. First the doctor wrote down the prescription in his notes but then did not give the prescription to the nurse. She says he didn’t write it. So I was thinking it was strange but maybe he decided against it due to side effects. Then, every ENT doctor tells you something different. You can’t get ahold of them and the messages on the app don’t get answered sometimes for a week. I can’t go to the emergency department for my issues because I need a specialist. However, this disruption with symptoms that could be solved by actually being able to talk to patients could make it clear. I’m very disappointed and feel let down by this experience. I’m grateful I have insurance but Kaiser Permanente needs to take a serious look at its policies and how long it takes to get a reply or a phone call.
