K-Tech Automotive - My dad, a septuagenarian, was 79 years old when he took his car to K-tech on March 1st

My dad, a septuagenarian, was 79 years old when he took his car to K-tech on March 1st. The car was overheating and he wanted to know the repair cost for the thermostat. Two days later, he fell ill and was hospitalized. On March 4th, during my hospital visit, he was distressed about K-tech repairing his car without consent and billing him $1,062.03. I believe K-Tech proceeded without his approval. He wouldn't have agreed to such a high expense as he was financially constrained and would've asked for my assistance. His spouse also confirms that he didn't authorize the work. Moreover, I suspect K-Tech's charges are excessive and potentially unlawful. For instance, they billed $24 for a gasket worth under a dollar and $70 for the thermostat. After consulting with three other garages, their quotes were significantly lower than what K-Tech charged. On April 14th, I contacted K-Tech regarding the prices, and they threatened to impose a $45 daily storage fee starting April 18th. Tragically, my dad passed away on March 21st without leaving the hospital. It's infuriating that a business would exploit an elderly person. Despite expressing my concerns to the manager, they still demand full payment.
