Stay away from this product at all costs. I used just for men facial hair dye on my goatee. I did the test with it & had no problem then I applied it for the first time & it was fine. Used it again about 2 weeks later & all of sudden I felt an annoying itch I thought it just dried my skin out a little then it started burning & itching but I couldn't see what was happening to my face untill I shaved I had pimple looking bumps filled with puss enflamed skin on my chin severe burning & itching puffed out & dark red. There should be a class action lawsuit against this company for putting out a dangerous product also in irritates eyes & has a bad chemical smell.

I have had the same experience as other long time users. The first couple of times I tested and had no reactions and have used for more than a year with no reaction. I only use lightly to tone down the gray, not try to eliminate it.. I started to get a reaction after the last box I bought, about 2 to 3 months ago. With no problem before, I did not identify JFM as the problem and have applied sparingly 4 or maybe 5 time in 3 months, now the reaction is out of control. I can not sleep, oozing weeping sores, burning through out beard and eye brows .I have washed area several times a day with hot water and soap, anti-bacterial soap, rubbing alcohol, used anti-itch creams and numerous ointments and nothing will clear it up. It would be very hard to exaggerate the discomfort.
DOES ANYONE HAVE A SUGESTION HOW CLEAR THIS UP ?

Only just started using this product recently although have used the JFM hair dye's for years, carried out the 'patch test', fine, no problems, used it a couple of times, again, no problems, then all of a sudden began to get the itchiness and reddening, it's so uncomfortable now I'm unable to sleep and find myself typing this in the early hours (UK) with my face smothered in Aloe Vera gel and 'Sudo Crem'.

It seems they've claimed it's down to the individuals hormone's 'changing' why there's suddenly an adverse reaction to long term users (or so I've read), I never used the old stuff so can't compare, however, I'm not convinced, will be shaving from now on (when I can actually put a razor to it).

I too had a terrible reaction. I should have been hospitalized. No insurance. My neck
swelled. I found it hard to breath. My neck was red and inflamed. The front of my neck is still red and scared.I am afraid it looks like cancer. I thought by now it would have subsided but it has not. Then I am watching TV and the class action suit comes on. I had no idea others had suffered as I had. I am joining suit.

I'm having the same issue. Burning itching and sores with puss coming out. I have been using just for men mustache for years. I say this just started in the past 6-7 months. They must have change the formula. I stop using it for three weeks now . I still have pussy scabs that won't go away. Does anybody know how long this will last?

I too have just used JFm on my beard, started itching and thought I'd shave my beard off as the itching was driving my my!, when I woke the next morning I was horrified to see my face was swollen, lumpy, red and weeping, I look like my face as doubled in size, went to the chemist and was given Eurax cream and ceterizine tablets, it's easing it slightly, something as got to be done about this product, there's millions of complaints but nothing seems to have been done : (

I am from the uk and I too used this product for almost a whole year with no reaction at all then one day i purchased a new box and bam! what a reaction, my whole face was burning and itching with redness, blistering and puss, it was mainly on my chin and tash areas and although I have not used jfm for years now i cant seem to use anything at all on my face without a flare up since then!

Also as it was healing i had yellow flaking grosse skin where it had been itching and burning which was really annoying and embarrassing and the itch was impossible to leave alone! I even would wake up clawing at it!

I have never suffered from anything like this before using "just for men" and was able to use any products at all on my face or body previous to using it, now i struggle to use even a light moisturizer on my face without irritation and a flare up! also to add it always flares up in the exact same areas as when i first had the reaction to it.. i wonder if anyone else has the same?

I seriously think this product is dangerous and needs to be banned!

EXTREMELY DANGEROUS PRODUCT - and please don't think it wont happen to you. Surely enough, one day completely unexpected I woke up the day following use with severe pain on my scalp, followed by weeks of watery blisters, nausea, itching, headaches and worst of all HAIR LOSS. Yep, it got rid of my grey hair all right - the product made it fall out.

I am based in the uk and i first started using the JFM beard dye in Dec 2012. Up until Dec 2013 everything was fine and then i started suffering the symptoms that most have had but luckily after i stopped using it for a month it seemed to heal. Made the mistake of using the product again as i was confused as to if it really was what my skin was reacting to as i use a different dye product for my hair and beard once a month but its definitely the JFM. Dangerous product i will never use again!

I too used JFM on my facial hair and had no problems until 2 months ago. I stopped using it and still have flaking skin. I have applied moisturizer and it still comes back the next day. I mean really, after 2 months of not using the product I still am feeling the effects of the chemicals they put in this stuff!

I have a horrible burning itching sensation with puss filled blisters I am sure the company just tried to increase profits and went with some Chinese chemical vendor and I'm sure that they know about the problem but if they take it off the shelf at all stores it would be an admission of guilt. Everyone who has had problems with J.F.M. Should consult with an attorney if there is any permanent damage take photos keep product doctor bills etc.

I'm a 17 year old kid who bought this product as a joke with a friend. We both used it and our skin was a little sore but went away in half an hour and didn't notice anything after. I used the product again and my face is burning, I have scabs 1.5 inches long and half an inch wisdom both sides of my upper lip. It looks like have Cold sores all over. The fact a 17 year old can buy this potentially harmful product is outrages. A pharmacists said it can potentially scare my face. I am worried sick about this. I will be suing JFM, if I doesn't scare I will be suing for the pain and suffering it has caused. If it scares they will be expecting a heavy lawsuit.

I have used JFM beard and mustache gel for the past 5 or so years without incident, until recently. I developed an itch on my scalp and beard that eventually involved my entire body. I was treated with oral prednisone and topical fluocinolone ointment as well as fluocinolone solution for my scalp. I had patch tests performed and found I'm allergic (sensitive) to PPD (para-Phenylenediamine), a black dye used in hair dyes. So, avoid PPD and the other names - 1, 4-Benzenediamine, Orsin, 1, 4-Phenylenediamine, p-Aminoaniline, p-Diaminobenzene, Rodol D, Ursol D.

I used this product last night. I did not do the allergy test as I had used this stuff many times in years past with no issues...and I had not grown a goatee in awhile. So in the beginning stages of growth I decided to dye a little...as said I used it last night. This morning I have woken up to itching...looked in the mirror and my chin is red & swelling. I am on no medication - nothing has changed w/ me in the last 3 years (the approximate time since I used it last). Something has changed with this product however and of course the company will not admit it. But they need to pull the product until they figure out what has changed because something has. IF they are being honest about the formula not changing (questionable at best) - then one of their suppliers has changed one of the ingredients...either with a cheaper substitute; or perhaps JFM has changed suppliers and that supplier is doing something wrong. JFM - this is legit. If you do not pull the product immediately you will lose a ton of your business because consumer hotlines will get lit up, consumer warnings will start on TV consumer shows, and lawsuits will spring up. You will never get your business back. Act now or you're in trouble

I used Just For Men liquid formula for over 12 years without any bad side effects. I thought it was perfect for me. I also used its mustache and beard touch up. My last application of the liquid formula caused severe blistering, weeping, itching, burning, and swelling on my scalp. The oozing puss seemed to act like poison ivy and spread to my forehead and ears almost just as severely. It was absolutely terrible for two weeks over the Thanksgiving holiday. It seemed to clear up, so I erroneously thought that I could safely try the mustache and beard paste formula. The results were even worse in all regards. I'm done with it. I should also state that I do have the red oozing blisters in my beard area also. The Dermatologist also said from the results of the Biopsy's that it could either be a allergic reaction to something or a reaction from a chemical I have been exposed to. The rash on my limbs and back do not ooze like the ones in my beard but burn and itch badly.

This all sounds familiar to me as well. Used JFM to color mustache and goatee. Didn't have problems for about 6 months but noticed a red area on side of mustache with burning and itching sensation. Almost immediately started getting blistering red rash on lower arms and legs which eventually spread to lower back and upper chest. Dermatologist said after 4 rash Biopsy's that it was a allergic reaction to something I've been exposed to. Now I know exactly what it was.

I used this junk JFM Sunday. I did just as they said to do it. It has been horrible ever since. My chin and upper lip are blistered, itchy as all heck. No comfort what-so-ever. The only thing that has helped at all is Polysporin and it is temporary at best. Going to the Dr. tomorrow, hopefully he can give me something to stop the itching and ozzing. I will be finding a lawyer that is ruthless tomorrow and I'm going to let JFM have some discomfort as well. I have already contacted my local news channel to let them expose this.

I to have had the same problem, the first time I used it I was fine the second time
It started burning and itching I went to the bathroom to shave, after I shaved my goatee was replaced with big red fever blisters, with oil leaking from them, it was bad for about a week, i am ok now scared for a week though . This company is ###ed up for selling this product .. Taking legal action would probably be a waist of time .
But if I ever run into the owner I will punch him in the stomach !

DON'T ever use this product. It is poison. I too have severe blisters under my beard that turn into incredible painful sores. I emailed the company and about a week later, a SUPER arrogant lady called me back and asked me a series of totally useless (and legaleses) questions trying to defend this product.

Bottom line: Judging by the way the customer service rep called me, they KNOW this product is defective and HARMFUL and have hired a group of legal people as customer service reps.
This product should be banned and the company should be sued for billions! They are KNOWINGLY putting out a defective product that is incredible harmful. STAY AWAY at ALL COSTS. BTW, their number is: [protected] - Call for yourself and you will see what I mean.

Agree something has changed...been using it for 2+ years...recently caused my lips to swell/blister...thought it was a lousy fever blister...after finally healing after two weeks, reapplied my JFM and the next day started all over again!...figured out it was the JFM application. Only things I found that helped was scrubbing my stache frequently, alternating Hydrocortozone "cream" and alternating with Polysporin ointment on my lips through out the day. Never again.

I used JFM M-15 two weeks ago (8/17/13) and did not have a reaction to it. After reading all of these articles I do not think I will use it again. JFM contains paraphenylenediamine. According to this article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P-Phenylenediamine) it is commonly used in hair colors. There are some notes under Safety which should be read. I have enclosed them here: ("Safety - The CDC lists PPD as being a contact allergen. Exposure routes are through inhalation, skin absorption, ingestion, and skin and/or eye contact; symptoms of exposure include throat irritation (pharynx and larynx), bronchial asthma, and sensitization dermatitis.[8][9] Sensitization is a lifelong issue, which may lead to active sensitization to products including, but not limited to black clothing, various inks, hair dye, dyed fur, dyed leather, and certain photographic products. It was voted Allergen of the Year in 2006 by the American Contact Dermatitis Society.") This info does not sound good and sounds very much like the symptoms reported by so many men. Hope this helps.

Im so angry and can't figure out how to soothe or heal these on going red patches. I think it is horrible that you spend your hard earned money on a product that just makes you miserable and in pain.

As with all comments above I've suffered the same problems - severe itchiness, burning, blotches, spotty, weeping, puss etc. Only used JFM for the firsttime about 6 week ago - a fortnight before my wedding day...
Tested it to see if it would bring back some darkness to my greying beard for my big day and was initially overjoyed with the resuts. Couldn't believe i'd waited 36 years to try this great stuff. i put the second application on 2 days befre my wedding day as I ha no reason ot too having suffered no ill effects previously. As it did the first time, it done it's job well and (very thankfully and luckily as I'm about to explain) my wedding photos came out great. Two days afeterwards and into my honeymoon - it started. Itching, blisters, soreness, tightness round my lips and mouth. I thought I'd had some reaction to something. Spent the rest of my honeymoon away from the camera and trying to ease the iscomfort and pain. On my return home (Scotland, UK) I made an immediate appointment to see my GP. Before I even told him why I was there he commented on the nasty state of my chin area. I tell him my story - obviously ommitting the JFM aspect as I still had no idea there was a correlation - and the Dr. concludes it's the release of stress afer my big event. Many people come back from honeymoon with similar effects apparently and blame it on foreign water or the like. Made sense to me and I left with an anti-bacterial wash which was to be followed by the application of Fucidin cream (Fusidic acid/hydrocortisone). i applied as recommened for few days and eventually it did ease. Skin still felt very tight and itchy but the worst was over - I was presentable ad not in pain.
The fool that I am however, a couple weeks pass and I decide I'll try a bit of male grooming and yep - go for the JFM (keeping in mind I still had no correlation). Put it on late last night, had a bit of a tingle but thought nothing of it. Middle of the night I waken up, face burning, lips swollen, itching like crazy. Haven't slept a wink since. My face is swollen, red, itchy and very painful. And so the anti-bacterial wash and Fuciden are now my best friends again.
I guess my point here is to highlight to anyone that may be in my position that;
1. I'd never used JFM before and after my first 2 applications did not react at all - I mean no reaction whatsoever, not even discomfort or tingling. It was the 3rd application from the same pack that has caused the damage.
2. It seems (an this is only my opinion), ice cubes can cause some immediate relief, anti-bacterial wash does seem to take away the itchy/tingling sensation though leaves your face very tight and finally a steriod cream like Fucidin does clear it up eventually. Least i hope, it did the first time - right now i'm getting the TLC from my new wife. Not what she intended on our first weeks of marriage...

I've only one question left - does ANYONE know where you can log an official complaint or the like? Seems to me to be far too many men on here discussing a very clear problem - but where/ how do we go about making our voices heard in the right places?

I too am like the scores of other people with complaints..I have used JFM for going on approx 4 or maybe even 5 years. I totally loved this product, I have never had anything objective other than maybe a little slight burning feeling and maybe a slight itchy sensation which went away as soon as the Dye was removed. All which I felt was a normal reaction when using not just this Dye but all dyes. I have only used just for men though I have never tried any other product. As i said i was very satisfied with JFM. That all changed about 2 or 3 months ago...approx. April 2013. after using this product with no type of real issues out of nowhere I initially got this rash on my chin area right below my bottom lip around the hair area. It was very unsightly and seemed to never go away no matter what I did. Due to me not knowing that this was tied to JFM I didn't stop using the product right it right away. Naturally i waited for my symptoms to die down before putting anything else on my face, however lie I said these rashes turned into burning itching bumps that leaked this puss fluid. The burning and itching was almost unbearable at times. I initially as crazy as it sounds just waved it off as it would go away over time, however this was turning out to be an ongoing issue that lasted well into 2 months of issues. It got so bad that I had to go to Kaiser who tested me for a bunch of stuff and got no results of what was causing the infection which was now spreading on my face. By this time my entire face was burning and itching and pussing. I was very depressed to say the least . I decided to shave my face and I did notice at this time that after using the product the infection came back full force. I still didn't put two and two together but did have my suspicions.
I went back to the Dr. who prescribed me Antibiotics and creams for my face. None of which seemed to be working. They were just as baffled as I was. This infection seemed to be immune to antibiotics! I was starting to get really concerned at this point and even worse I was looking really crazy facial wise. It got so bad that I called my Dr. almost in tears and was informed to that they didn't have any available apt. ( Now I was really going crazy) I insisted that this was hurting very bad and they managed to get me an apt. in the neighboring city which I didn't care if it was Texas I still would have drove out there. That's how bad this was. This Dr immediately said he knew what the issue but I don't think he knew about the JFM though I still didn't link the two yet. He did prescribe me some more ointment called Mupirocin. and some more Antibiotics and also gave me a swab test to check for what he thought was bacteria in the weeping sores on my face. I used the ointment and to my surprise it actually started clearing up my face and it stopped the oozing clear fluid. I was elated to finally bring some resolve to this nightmare. I used the ointment for another week or so and it totally cleared me up...I did and still have some scaring around my chin area which wasn't going away but It wasn't anything compared to what was there initially. I decided to use JFM again and but since i shaved I only used it in my goat Tee area and to my surprise it flared right back up again. I now got my first real link between JFM and this issue. (crazy as it seems) I should have noticed before now looking back in hindsight. I still had the ointment though and when I used it after a few days it cleared up right away, well not so right away but it did clear up within a few days. I had those same sores oozing puss from my face. The ointment did clear it right back yup though but not after a few days of agony. I immediately google JFM and found this forum which now makes total sense. I have stopped using this product completely and will look for an alternative thanks to some of the info Posted on this forum. I just wanted to let you all know that this ointment actually worked for me. So far so good, this JFM has totally screwed my face sin up to the point I am not sure if I will ever be the same again. I have always had pretty clear complexion and now I am not sure how my skin will be going forward. Let me know if you need any info from me at all..glad to help as I see some of you are going through the same thing as I went through.

I've been getting these blisters across my top lip and cold sores in the corner of my mouth on and off for about a year. The problem is, before this, I've had maybe only two cold sores in my life and I'm 45!

I dyed my mustache and beard one day and realized, the dye is causing this! Even if I leave it on for a short amount of time (4 minutes) it burns my lips and my face. This all started roughly in early 2012, late 2011. I used the stuff for 15 years before this with no problem. They changed the formula and its affecting a lot of people.

i used this product for about 2-3 years, starting in 2007 with no problems. then the incredible irritation began. i tried anti-itch creams, smaller amounts during usage, and always buying a new, fresh package before applying it. all to no avail. i'm done with JFM. it really sucks because i love sporting a goatee/beard but hate the gray. but the pain is just too unbearable.

I am having the same issues. Used the product many times before without any problems. Recently I used the product and woke in the middle of the night with severe itching. Two days later I broke out with puss or fluid filled blisters. Now the blisters seem to be spreading and have begun to appear on my lips. My lips are sore and it hurts to eat or yawn. Something has definitely changed with their product. It's been 5 days since i used the product and I'm getting worse not better.

Hello everyone,
I'm still going through pure hell after using JFM 3 weeks back! I will now and always will be for the rest of my life have A allergic reaction when I come in contact with anything that has PPD in it! What the problem with this product is that they are using the ingredient called (p-Phenylenediamine) otherwise known as PPD Witch is a very dangerous chemical and is very well known to be so by the government and the company's using it! It is a scientific fact that this chemical has harmful /deadly effects! It has hospitalized thousands ! One seventeen - year- old girl has already died from dying her hair with this chemical.. It has been banned in Europe, Germany and France And here we are in the USA the country with the best technology the best doctors etc etc and still continue selling this stuff like hot cakes ! It;s never seizes to amaze of the Pure ignorance in this country ... It's all about Money and Greed ! This country is full of it! Here is the article below on the teen girl that died ..

I have news for everyone. I don't think this is the entirely due to the new formula. I have also been using Just For Men for years and started breaking out about a year ago with rashes, pimples, redness, itching and irritation. Since I had been using the product for years I thought it must be something else and have been through so many crazy changes in my diet, skin care and visits to the dermatologist trying to solve the problem. No luck, i have had continual break outs after not having any skin problems since high school 20 years ago. The catch with me is I bought several cases of Just For Men 4 to 5 years ago so I am using the old formula. That makes me suspect that it is just a matter of time before some of the ingredients build up and cause this reaction. I also suspect the company knew this and maybe that is why they created a new formula to no avail? Food for thought

Same thing as every one else here. I used the product on Saturday, then the itching came that night. I couldn't sleep due to the itching. Sunday I went to church and noticed red patches all over my face. I put lots of cream, cocoa butter, cortizone-10 and took benadryl tablets. It took 3 days of this treatment to finally get to where I had no more itching. My scalp still itches and another maybe unrelated event occurred this morning. I woke up and my head started spinning very fast for about 10 seconds. This never happened to me before, and I was wondering if any one else is experiencing this after using this product?
