MaxCare warranty
I reached out to my warranty company to get a repayment on arepair I had to have done. In and emergent issue with my truckhaving a break I took it to PepBoys for a repair which theyperformed. JM&A Group is the holder of my CarMax Purchasedwarranty "Maxcare Plan" to which I have coverage for 60 monthor 100K miles. My vehicle required repair and I did not have mypaperwork to call in with. I authorized my repairs and paid, expecting that my warranty would honor and help me with this allthings considered. They denied me my claim having me submitreceipts. I was then told you can have it submitted and we canreview it. I got no response to this. My truck had to be fixed thatday so I could pick my kids up from school. I walked back fromthe shop. The repair is an item that is part of the coverage that isbeing denied. JM&A seems fine with taking money for a warrantybut does not seem to honor to process to cover an issue.Considering I had to have the work done I would even accept a partial refund
Desired outcome: Refund of money paid less my $100 deductible
Refund of gap ins.
I purchased a gap insurance warranty with my new car January 31 of 2022. I then paid off this vehicle September 24 of 2022 and requested a full refund from JM and a group for my paid for warranty. I have been sent emails weeks after I email them. All of their phone numbers that they have listed on their emails and mailed letters and contract that I have are no longer in service that is seven different phone numbers no longer in service. I received a letter in the mail dated December 15, which was identical to a letter. They emailed me November 1 telling me that it was canceled and the refund would be on its way, I believe the word fraud comes to mind the attorney general is my next step today is December 23 and I am still waiting for my refund
Desired outcome: Refunded to me to my home address immediately. The full amount that I paid you since I did not agree to any administrative fee or any such BS that you were trying to get away with.
Total loss vehicle
My car was a total Loss in January 2021, my Insurance paid their portion, I got in touch with GAP Insurance like they told me to, that GAP would pay the remaining balance of $4, 900. GAP Insurance request the paper works from my Insurance company, which I sent to them, so they could process my Claims. GAP return a denial notice stating that they dont pay for late payments & differments, I was so dissapointed. I have been paying GAP Insurance Since about 2004, because I was always introduced to GAP Insurance by the dealership where I purchase my Vechicles & I was not told that when I was buying GAP Insurance. I went back to the dealer & they told that. GAP should have paid the balance no matter what the Circumstance is, that is what GAP is for. But now I know that the next time I make a purchase I will shop for a alternative, my friends are thinking of doing the same.
Thanks
Very dissapointed.

Gap Insurance
This company is a scam! When you have a total loss they are ready to use any excuse not to pay the gap they're offering and leaving you in debt!
They sell you a gap insurance for 900$ offering to pay the amount your car insurance wont cover after a total loss, and then they value your car for a ridiculous high amount and say they wont pay the difference! I paid for 2 years 900$ for gap insurance and they just paid 1200$ for my car of a 4500$ amount that is still owned for the car! Leaving my family with over 3000$ in debt we can't afford in the middle of a pandemic! Jim Moran put me through a nightmare! My car was a total loss due to no fault of mine and now I don't have a car and I'm 3000$ dollars in debt I can't afford! My credit would be ruined because of this cause there's no way I could pay for this without a car! I went to complain at the dealer TOYOTA OF HOLLYWOOD and they couldn't believe whats happening to me and told me they will review keeping on working with them! They couldn't believe this company won't cover the gap and leave me with all that debt and I'm gonna file a complaint against both the dealer TOYOTA OF HOLLYWOOD who SOLD ME their policy promising me they would save me from debt in case of an accident and Jim Moran & associates with the State of Florida Insurance Department and Better Business Bureau! Whats the point of buying a 900$ total loss protection insurance policy if they wont cover nothing? I attached the estimate they gave me that there's 2400$ of "NADA Adjustment" they wont cover! They valued my car at 11.900$ and the real value of the car according to my insurance appraisal and the Kelley Blue Book is 8200$! The dealer just laughed when I told them the value they used said that's delusional thats absolutely not the value of my car! I will make my life's mission that everybody knows about this scam and that the dealer and Jim Moran cant keep scamming people and ruining their lives leaving them in debt! I attached the estimate they give and the total loss protection amount I purchased in my contract! RUN RUN from this company! It's a BIG calculated SCAM!
Desired outcome: I want them to pay the full GAP as advertised!
GAP
Claim # CL20025244
JM&A refuses to payoff the 1215.15 balance on my total loss vehicle as they claim that I should get the money from the dealership for a service contract that expired and a maintenance contract that refunded to me a year after I bought the car in 2016.
They now want me to fight the dealer for the money rather than honor my GAP claim and pay the $1215.15 balance.
Desired outcome: Pay the balance owed on my car
gap insurance
This GAP waiver insurance, I must agree is a scam. I was pressured by the dealership to purchase the GAP waiver as it would benefit me greatly in case of a total loss this was in 2016, My car was recently totaled, and they are denying to pay my waiver and advises me to go back to the dealership, prior to going to the dealership I called JM&A three times all three times asking to speak to a supervisor who I finally got a hold of on the third after calling again, I also left a message for a supervisor who states his name was Matt on the Voicemail to never a receive a call back at all. I went to the dealership (Coggin Honda) in Deland, FL and they were shocked that the GAP didn't want to pay either. This is a shame as I advises the dealer when purchasing my vehicle I was on a fixed Income and yet they insisted and I was taken advantage of.
I too have been recently scammed by this company. Considering a class action lawsuit. I am gathering information from BBB and complaintsboard.com.
Feel free to contact me via email.

Fraud and refuse to pay
This company is a total sham! Please, I repeat please do not waste your money getting gap insurance with them. They will find any and every reason why they aren't responsible to pay and will give you a complete run around. They are a fraud of a company, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. The defeats the sole purpose of having gas insurance if you still have to pay out of pocket, and fight with the insurance company to their job.
They are rip offs!
Gap insurance scam!
I received a letter indicating a negative or zero amount to be credited. This is ridiculous when there is gap coverage! I was misled by the dealer and jm & a group on the insurance I purchased to avoid this situation. Additionally, they devalued the totaled vehicle by $900.83 which seems to be a convenient action deliberate to avoid a payout. This truck was in perfect condition with no cause for this. Finally, in my payment history, I made extra payments which also worked in their favor when all I was looking for was a true gap coverage on the difference of the amount owed on the truck vs what was paid by my insurance company.
With the covid 19 going around this is an awful time to make a bad situation even worse for someone that depended on honesty and integrity from an insurance company!
Gap insurance
I am a disabled veteran. I bought a car from Wilmington Auto in Ohio. They found Peoples bank to be my lender. I did not ask for Peoples which is my bank as well. I got my car totaled. I took 3 weeks. Did all the insurance paperwork and gap paperwork. Some costing me money to overnight. I called about my Gap. The customer service rep says 30 days or longer. I mention the 1 2 3 steps and 3 to 7 days to pay off. She said no not for you. I asked for a supervisor. I have PTSD and depression. Imagine my thoughts. Supervisor named Simone answered. She stayed JM&A will not pay my claim. The dealership was not allowed to use my personal bank period. With me asking or not. Now it has to go to an analysts to review rejection and determine how to handle. I who paying. Probably the dealership. Oh they might take 3 weeks to tell them. Smh this outragous. Also I can stop.paying the loan but on me Simone states. I asked if I need a.lawyer. Samone says no. I state I will leave a negative review. I am told they will drop me if not needed. Yes the company who wants they fees still but refusing to help. I repeat what she stated explaining she made a threat. She states no bit a review is a threat. I stated so if i post one the. No help. Samone says no but belame the dealership. Thos is horrible. Stay cleat of this company. I broke down crying while on the phone
JM&A reversed decision and paid. I was persistent taking every avenue I could.
gap insurance
Gap insurance is just another scam. Funny how they easily will take your money. But heaven forbid you actually file a claim over 3 months of back and forth with the guys. And when finally paid they paid less then a third of the balance owed with some lame excuse as why! It was back and forth with required paperwork that they fail to ask for, then when needed they ask then. They can easily work with insurance co. Pant or call lien holder to expedite. But know they want extreme inconvenience for your experience! I will never recommend or use gap again! Horrible company and service period!
This company took a long time to not do anything for me. Completely useless. They ended up making a ton of money from me, theres no reason to buy gap from this company.

gap insurance
I had a 2006 Toyota avalon purchased at Germain Honda Naples Fl
They are the ones who sold me this CRAP insurance policy, They call it a Gap insurance policy.
I owed 8500 on car
Allstate Insurance paid 4500 {for totaled car, they won't pay a dime more}
I now owe 4000
JM&A paid 1098, keep in mind I paid 900 for Gap policy, which means Gap is paying 198.00 bucks for my totaled car.
JM&A uses NADA clean retail to value car, No insurance company will pay that ever, they use basically blue book. This means if JM&A is your Gap company you get stuck paying Gap.
gap insurance
I paid, up front, for this "gap protection" when I purchased my car 3 years ago. My car was just totaled a month ago because someone tee-boned me and my car was unrepairable. My insurance company paid towards my loan what they valued the car at. This company, who's sole purpose is to cover the difference between a person's loan and what the insurance company pays when someone's car gets totaled (no fault of mine) is refusing to do their job. They are stating that the difference between what my insurance is valuing my car and what they are valuing my car is too great and since I haven't paid off most of my car they will not pay it. Why did I pay for your insurance again? Up front might I add! I was not making payments on their contract. They take peoples' money and then pocket it for themselves! Even the lady on the phone, mac, couldn't really explain the purpose of getting their insurance as she knows it is a scam!
gap insurance
My car was declared a total loss on July28, 2017. On July 31 I contacted JM&A regarding submitting a claim. I was told that I would have to file online, which I did the same day. All of the requested paperwork (which was substantial) was faxed on August 3. JM&A tried to tell me that my paperwork was still not complete since Progressive Insurance labeled one document "vehicle valuation report" instead of "vehicle evaluation". Thankfully, my very helpful Progressive claims representative called JM&A personally and straightened it out. According to JM&A, my paperwork was complete and began processing on August 4, 2017. I was told by an agent from JM&A that the claim would be resolved in 15 days. After 13 days and no word, I called JM&A to inquire about the status of the claim. I was told that I should call back in a week because claims could take up to take 21 days. I called back today, August 29, and was told that the claim was under review, and the dealership I purchased the car from three years ago was contacted to supply additional paperwork. When I asked why I hadn't been informed about this I was told that since my car was financed through Huntington Bank, it was complicated. I asked to speak with the representative who was reviewing the claim so that I could inquire about what the problem was with my claim, I was told that I was not allowed to talk to that person. Upon being told this, I asked to speak with a manager. I was put on hold for over 30 minutes and then hung up on. I called back immediately, and received an automated response that the office was closed.
We are sorry if you had an unpleasant experience. Fred Brown, Assistance Vice President of Customer Service, would be happy to look into your claim and see what we can do to help. We will send you his direct contact information so that you can provide him with your account information and he can directly address your concerns.

Useless gap insurance
If you want to use and internet portal that does not work properly and then face the delays of the portals inability to review or confirm and then wait weeks for every kind of delay they can think of and think this is a good thing to pay for then have at it.
Totally useless coverage. Put the money you would pay for their warranties and gap insurance towards the purchase price of the car you are buying. Never again as they are a rip off.
Not Paying Claims Fairly or in A Timely Manner
I worked at a Car Dealership and bought a car for my daughter. JM&A Group is the Gap Insurance company the dealership generally uses, so I paid for the protection. 3 months after I bought her the car, she was in an accident and there was enough costly damage that the Auto Insurance company totaled it. I was paid by them very quickly, but had to gather 29 pages of information to fax to JM&A Group to get the GAP claim started. It did not take too long after I faxed the information for them to settle the claim and send the money to my bank. Unfortunately they only paid $457 of the nearly $1, 500 I still owed. When I looked over what they sent me, considering how much information I had to send them, there was rather little by way of explaining how they came to their number. I was very confused as I paid extra to get the insurance that also pays my deductible ($500). Since the claim paid was under even this amount I called to inquire. I was told after a lengthy hold that the deductible WAS figured in and that if it hadn't been they would have only paid $26. When I requested an explanation I was told that I had to send in a written dispute and a Claims Specialist would call me and go over the payout line by line. I wrote the dispute letter and by my own calculations and JM&A Groups own contract and definitions came up with a figure of just over $900 that I was still owed. I mailed the dispute in the middle of January and gave them until the 3rd to call me. When I got no response I called them. I was told that the dispute was forwarded to the Legal Dept. on the 30th of January and they would look it over and get back to me. I inquired as to a phone number or email that I could contact the Legal Dept. myself at and was told they did not have one. I called every Monday after that until I was profoundly frustrated on the 18th of February when I finally asked to be forwarded to a manager. I was told yet again, as I had been every week previous, that there was no way to contact the Legal Dept. and that the Manager, Nicki would tell me the same. I asked to be forwarded anyway where I got no answer but left a message explaining my situation and the run-around that I had been getting. Within hours I received a call from a woman name Michelle who said that she was from the Legal Dept. at JM&A Group and she had a response letter ready for their lawyer to look over and approve and it would be sent out later that day or the next. After waiting over a week, again, I placed ANOTHER call to them on the 27th where I had to AGAIN explain my situation to another person. She told me it was over her head and she would try to talk to Nicki and find out who called and when the response was sent. After being on hold for at least 5 minutes she came back on the line to tell me that Nicki was not answering her phone so she spoke with her Supervisor (whose name I did not get) and he advised her to get my phone number to and he would make sure he personally took it to Legal and would tell them to please get back to me by phone that day. It is now the 1st of March and I have yet to receive either a call or a letter. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone looking for GAP insurance as it appears they try to wiggle out of their stated and contractual obligations. The only step I see that I have left is to involve my lawyer, which I really didn't want to do for under $1, 000, but at this point its more about the principal and them needing to know that they cannot get away with not standing up to their obligations.

GAP Insurance
My less than 1 yr old truck was in a total loss accident. We thought it was okay since I had bought GAP insurance. We got a letter about 3 weeks later from them saying that they only pay 90% of NADA and do NOT cover the entire loss...WHAT is GAP supposed to be for then? I looked them up on their own website and they explain that the reason you buy GAP is to cover your losses if you are upside down and have negative equity! What a RIP OFF! I'm out $600 for the GAP insurance and getting $0 from JM&A Group (Fidelity)! Leaving me with about $4200 out of pocket...Having GAP has not been worth anything to me, it only costed me $600 for nothing. If I hadn't already bought another vehicle and got GAP (by another company, THANK Goodness), I wouldn't buy it ever again. I'm hoping I can get a refund on it now, if that's the real deal here! 0

GAP Insurance
I purchased a 2006 Nissan Sentra and my car was totalled. I never knew I had GAP Insurance no one told me. It turns out that I had insurance from JM&A group according to Capital one. Geico paid out 6000 for the vehicle which left a remaining balance of $3880. I put in a claim with the JM&A group and they made me send in all this ridiculous paper work. After weeks of getting all this information in they said they are not paying anything. I didn't even know I had gap insurance. I never seen any documentation. I am told because I have late payment they can't pay my car off. Gap insurance is a joke. They screw you and take your money. I definately would not used this company. JM&A sucks and I hope they read this message board. I am going to make sure everyone knows about the bad business they do.

I am waiting to see what happens. I sent in all the paperwork. My 2016 Honda Civic Lx was totaled due to a fire. I agree the paperwork is excessive, that alone would be reason enough for me not to deal with them again. I have no late payments. I will not play games if they attempt to no pay or short pay. I will file suit, simple as that. I will also file a claim with the State Insurance Commission. I have read through the contract very carefully. It does state very clearly that their obligation maximizes at 110 % of the value. Keep in mind also that almost all finance companies and banks offer optional GAP insurance, most consumers don't know this, if you feel like you were ripped off then by all means speak to a lawyer, file suit, and file a complaint with your State Insurance Commissioner.
Sounds like a 1000 people crying about JM&A not paying the remaining balance on their loan. They did on mines, mind you I carried full coverage insurance like a good driver did and made all my payments on time and in full like an adult is supposed to. I had my lender and insurance company send I all my documents needed for the claim and I stayed on top of them to make sure they did like a proactive person is supposed to and less than a month my remaining balance on my loan was paid off in full. Let me remind you folks GAP is not an insurance it is a form of protection to your finance loan. So instead of you whining and [censored]ing like little kids, MAKE SURE YOU READ THE DAMN CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN AN LEGALLY BINDING DOCUMENT 3 TIMES! I'm sure all of your claims were not covered due to an exclusion in their contract, which cause them not to be able to pay out all if not some. And FYI did none of you crybabies pay for the gap coverage out of pocket, which is why if they don't cover your claim they cancel the gap and send the prorated amount back to your lender. You know it was finance in your loan so stop sitting up here acting like an Fortune 500 company that has no problem paying out on a claim owe you some damn money!
You know something. I guess most people do not i guess. You must work for them. Hope you can sleep at night. Because of this type of bull some cannot.
SCUM! SCUM! CROOKS! Brand NEW CAR Totalled by a Drunk Driver! Bought GAP Insurance throught this DISGRACE of a Company! They paid $1, 895.23! I have a BALANCE of 6, 000. Balance is my Responsibility. HOW CAN this HAPPEN!
Do what adult people do. Read your contract. If you owed more than what the contract promised to pay, for example, you rolled a large negative equity amount into your loan, than it will not pay for both cars. There are limits to what people can collect contractually. Instead of screaming like a child, why not read your contract fool.
Are there Any good stories about this company? I need to know what to do right now. I just purchased a vehicle and read on the contract that i payed $800 for gap. Can/How do i cancel? Will i be reimbursed? Somebody tell me something please!
Did you find any answer? please help11
i purchase my 2007 Toyota Camry almost 4 years ago and in April 18, 2017 i got in to a car accident in which i was the one who got hit even the other driver admit to the police that it was his fault anyway at the time of the accident i still owe 12, 000 dollars in to my car because my interest was very high but the thing is the other driver insurance they decide to total loss my car paying only 6400.00 leaving me with a balance of 5600.00 and i say to my self where the hell I'm gonna get 5600.00 to paid off my car anyway somebody ask me do you have GAP and my answer was i don't know so i ask the dealership where i purchase my car and they told me yes you do so right away i filled a claim with JM&A group they start asking me for documents and i start faxing them everything that they want they was telling me that it will take between 3 to 5 days to received the faxes or emails send by me then i call them back to check the status they want more documents i did it again fax them the papers and email it to them same story it will take 3 to 5 days to received it and review it is being almost a month and i haven't hear a word from them and the sad thing is that i apply for a loan in my credit union to purchase another car they did approved my loan but unless i get a document or letter from JM&A saying that they will pay the remaining 5600.00 they won't release my loan the way i read other stories that are very close to my story and i don't think I'm looking for JM&A paying the remaining balance on my car that i just got total loss any suggestions out there i wonder if i can file a lawsuit against this people.
My car was totaled 4 months ago. JM&A sent me a letter stating what they were paying and that it was processed and the check was mailed out. It has now been 20 days and Wellsfargo still has not recieved a dime from them. I call every single day and they just tell me to wait. This is ridiculous. No claim should take this long.
I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe in 3/16 and I was in an accident in 9/25/16 (Not at Fault) My insurance company deemed my car a total loss on 9/29 and I contacted JM&A and filed a claim on 9/30. My insurance company paid 17128.59 of the 22223.89. Leaving me a balance of 5095.30 on 10/3/16. It has taken JM&A 31 day to complete my claim only to leave me with a balance of 2013.10. They deducted the taxes for the SUV on my loan and told me I am responsible for the taxes, they will not pay my deductible of 500.00 and although my contract says that if my vehicle NADA value is under 90% they will pay the difference (IT was over 90%) they deducted another 628.00 from the amount they are willing to pay. I purchased this coverage from Ganley Hyundai in OHIO and paid 895.00. So disappointed I filed a complaint with BBB and with our attorney general's office. I am also going back to Ganley they will have to resolve this issue as they were the ones that sold me the product. My coverage contract and it says and I quote “ Actual cash value means the total loss settlement including the value of salvage retained by you (if any) and sales tax paid or payable, plus your insurance deductible not to exceed $1000.00”. When I expressed how displeased I was with JM&A to their manager he said and I quote " At least you aren't paying back 5K". Worst company ever totally fraudulent and they need to be investigated. Ganley and other dealership should eliminate their ties to them as it makes them look just as bad.
Lorine Jackson
I also filled claim with GEICO for my Volve 2019. I only received two $600 checks that was sent to Capital one. Capital One told me I still owed them$2000. GEICO paid $9, 999. I paid for GAP insurance with my car payment each month. I am very disappointed.
This company by far is the WORST! LEGAL ACTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN FOR SUCH CRAP. The unfortunate piece is you dont know how things will be until you get into this type situation only to learn that you should have just kept your money. Like many of you, money spent on paperwork and they keep requesting stuff and then deny you. It was only $600.00! My claim with them cost that amount. Additionally, It not that you have jacked up credit either as my child had good credit and first time car buyer. Crooks will rip off anybody if they can and it appears this is what this company does. We now know that it's really not worth having Gap and especially not with this company. Car dealerships will tell you to get it (which we did) and briefly tell you it's in the event of an accident. However, they fail to tell you it may cost you your sanity in the end when they deny paying the claim.
These people stole my momey for nothing. My car is totalled. My car insurance paid over $16800. Now they telling they are not paying the $1544 balance . they are total ripoff. They made wait send them a bunch of paper. And spent my momey on fax and mailings. Now they are dwnying my claim. They should be out of business for running a scam.
