About two years ago, Jet Blue had some sort of arrangement with American Airlines at Boston Logan Airport. I booked the ticket through Priceline. It seemed it was an American Airlines at flight (the ticket said American Airlines by Jet Blue). American Airlines allowed me to reserve seats with my confirmation number. When I got to the kiosk of American Airlines, I found out my actual flight was with Jet Blue. Walking about 1/2 a mile through the airport, found out that Jet Blue had no seats left and made me pay for one! I filed a complaint with the BBB on this, and neither American Airlines or Jet Blue agreed to give me any refund. I should have stopped dealing with them at that point. Yesterday, I called Jet Blue to ask their refund policy. Without giving them any authorization to do so, they cancelled my flight!
When I finally got a chat started with them after being either hung up on or disconnected, they restored my tickets but charged me the full price again since they thought they refunded my ticket. I looked up my credit card account today, and found no refund was ever done, I was charged again. Because I don’t want my flight cancelled again, I’m going to dispute the charges after I return (the charges are pending). I was also told I would have to pay 150.00 for a refund despite the fact I got a refundable ticket paying extra for it. This charge was not done. I’m willing to pay more for a ticket in the future not dealing with this fully incompetent company. To add insult to injury, they kept changing my assigned seat because of some change in flights. Most likely they’ll play the no seats available again with me due to basic incompetence.
Recommendation: Incompetent customer service and not transparent on fees and booking seats
