Report on Training Experience and Request for Review
I am writing to formally report my experience with the training process at iQor and to request a review of my termination.
When I was hired, I was told I would receive proper training. However, my training mainly involved observing another agent who had only been with the company for about six months and was using materials he created himself. There was no clear or structured training program, nor a standard operating procedure (SOP) provided that I could reference or use to refuse unclear material.
With 12 years of experience running my own office, handling audits, bookkeeping, and holding certifications such as finance manager and notary, I value clear and organized training. Unfortunately, the training at iQor was unstructured — information was scattered between Teams chats, and sessions often involved prolonged silence or simply watching another employee work. At no point did someone go through each procedure step by step. When I asked questions, I often felt talked down to or dismissed, and was told to rely on other agents who had only been at iQor for a year or less. My direct supervisor, Megan, frequently could not answer my questions.
Additionally, I have a learning disability that makes it difficult to follow disorganized or incomplete instructions. This issue, combined with inconsistent communication and lack of clear guidance, significantly affected my ability to learn the processes. I also have personal responsibilities — such as caring for my daughter who has seizures — which make flexibility and clear expectations even more important for me.
I also observed differences in how employees were treated. For example, some employees received laptops and additional flexibility, while I was told different things regarding accommodations for family needs.
Despite my efforts and professional background, I was terminated after 10 months based on performance issues that I believe were directly related to the inadequate training and lack of support. I am disappointed, as I was eager to contribute to iQor and believe I could have succeeded with the right guidance.
I respectfully request that my situation be reviewed, and that feedback is considered to improve training for future employees, especially those with learning differences. Proper structure, clear procedures, and supportive leadership are essential for a fair and effective workplace.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Rosa Torres
