After five years with HomeWorks Energy, my experience became increasingly disappointing. During my time there, I consistently went above and beyond my job responsibilities, including frequently training new employees and assisting with onboarding efforts, often without additional compensation or recognition.
One of the most frustrating aspects was seeing positions that had traditionally been separate roles combined and assigned to newer employees, many of whom may not have fully understood the expectations or workload they were taking on. It felt as though experienced employees were used to transfer knowledge and train replacements, only to later be laid off.
The company culture also changed significantly after new management was brought in. In my personal experience, leadership became less supportive and more difficult to work with. My team and I even helped train members of new management when they first joined the company, making it especially disheartening to later be laid off under that same leadership.
Being let go after years of loyalty, strong performance, and contributions to training both staff and management was incredibly disappointing. It left me feeling undervalued and as though the experience and dedication of long-term employees were no longer appreciated.
I am grateful for the relationships I built with many of my coworkers over the years, but my final experience with the company left a negative impression and significantly changed my view of the organization.
