Business Response Mr., this seems to be going a little too far over a small amount of money. If you look at your contract, it fully describes the additional cost for wood replacement. As you are well aware, we are unable to see the rot under the shingles until we have fully removed your roofing system. At which time, we get an overview of the damage and we then go and get the materials needed to perform the wood replacement. If you are telling me that you did not know there was an extra charge for wood, why would you know that the first three sheets were given to you for free? Regardless, I have explained this to your attorney and have sent him the pictures documenting the wood damage. If you are not aware, when we replace lumber we have to pay the crew additional monies to remove and replace the lumber. On top of that, *** has made it very clear to us that if we take plywood from their store, they are going to charge us for the lumber. If you would have taken an easier stance on this, I don't believe this would of turned into such a nightmare for everyone but because of the position you have now put us in, there will be no overlooking your balance to move forward. You owe for the additional (3) sheets of plywood. At which time we will order you a wind mitigation for your home. Also, please take note that GAF is very stringent on their policies for their warranty. If the job is not paid in full, GAF will issue NO WARRANTY. I will attach a copy of all the pictures along with a copy of your contract for the BBB to see. Please reach out to the Melbourne office to make payment in full and we can put all of this behind us and get your warranty and your wind mitigation completed Unfortunately, I could only attach 10 pictures to this email, please contact your attorney for the other pictures. This dimensional lumber they are trying to get paid for was not in my contract. My stance is they did not even use the 3 sheets of plywood that were brought to the job. I still have the remaining partial sheet. I will be filing a small claims case. There is a spot on the contract that requires me to sign for any of these additional charges. You will note I did not sign or initial that spot. Business Response Mr., please continue to read the contract. Should we need to send this to an attorney, you signed directly under the paragraph that states you will be held responsible for all fees including attorney's cost and court costs. Also, if you want us to be difficult, you didn't initial the spot where the estimator gave you (3) sheets of plywood for free or the part where he offered you a free wind mitigation. So your argument is that because you didn't initial one small section of a contract you otherwise completely agree with, you feel that you are validated by not paying for the additional needed lumber to fix your home correctly. However, as a competent homeowner, you did sign the contract agreeing with everything on the agreement. Which if you didn't. I am sure the court system will ask you why you didn't cross that out. Otherwise, it is considered part of a binding agreement. As for the left over scraps of lumber, those are yours, which you have confirmed on record to be in possession of. So, that means, you have received the lumber. Please pay your balance and we will do our part as we noted in the contract, even though there are no initials next to it.

With unresolved situations the have me in questioning from my insurance why the jos is not done this very dishonest Roy is a big part of it his very dishonest men take advantage of people maybe because I'm Latinos not sure all company allowed me to ownership the end result . I have my roof bulging in one place and water spots in 2 places in my living room... Sheetrock is wet and stained... They have yet to respond or even attempt to help resolve this situation.

Business Response First, due to your neglect on paying your bill in full, it takes a while to recover your account from our collection agency. Once we recover the file from collections, we need to make sure you have paid for your roof in full. Thank you for finally paying your complete bill. We have tried to reach out to you on several occasions. The problem we are having is we cannot find any more than ONE phone call from you. We have a digital phone system that logs every out-going and incoming phone call. We use this to make sure we don't miss anything but we cannot find any more than one call from you. However, we show FOUR phone calls back to you from our office? Regardless, we will try and reach out to you again and take care of your issues. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Your attempt to smear me by your above response is rather combative and derogatory. After all, my bill was paid and your warranty should have been in place. I actually was pleased with your final response to my complaint. You sent out a well qualified team to resolve my roof leaks (3). My roof stopped leaking. They said that you would be sending out a construction crew to repair the inside water damage caused by the leaks. Hopefully, they will come soon and finish the warrantied repairs...? Things should have ended there... except that you forced me to get into your internal (office) shortcomings. As you know, my final bill was paid "late" by *** Bank, not me... because of your dismissal of your employee that was handling my account, and no one from your offices followed up with my bank after that. Your employee dropped the ball and never sent the final bill to *** Bank. I had nothing to do with the banks policies on paying the final payment. The burden of proof that the job was complete and the filing of the final paperwork with *** was your responsibility. My cellphone logs "missed calls" and I have no "missed calls" and no "Voicemails" from you... I kept being sent to voicemail... all but my final call... I told the operator that no one was responding to my voicemails so I asked her to personally give it to the correct person, two days later, still no call back. Therefore, I contacted the BBB. Truthfully, I was very pleased with the original installation of my roof and the employees and contractors that handled my job... I was pleased with how your office removed my account from collections when you realized the problem wasn't me but the communication between your office and my bank. I'm still baffled as to why your response was so combative as opposed to accepting responsibility for the delayed response to my calls and us having an amicable relationship as a satisfied customer and a reputable business. After all, you honored your warranty by fixing my roof leaks... and hopefully you will come and repair the internal water damage caused by those leaks. Honesty is always the best policy. "The customer is always right" will keep you in better standing with your other potential customers and the community. Throwing dirt seems to backfire and cause more of a mess than is usually needed... THE FACTS ARE: I contracted a new roof through your company. The bill was paid in full. Your contracted warranty was good. How and when the bill was paid should have no bearing on me being called back nor on your fulfillment of your contract with me. Business Response Your comments have been noted but in regards to your unpaid balance being left out for so long, this could have been taken care of at the time service was completed instead of letting it linger and not taking the time to pay it in full. We are not here to throw dirt but at times people need to admit responsibility. And to point out, it does matter how and when the bill is paid. I am sure when you worked for a living you expected to be paid at the end of the work week and not when your boss decided to pay you? We can't run a company based upon us holding our end of a contract and everyone else dictating policy of when they feel they want to uphold their end of an agreement. If their is a problem with the roof and it is our fault, we will stand behind but don't smoke screen what took place with what is happening now. I am sure someone will be following up with you on the additional work that is forthcoming.

Kitchen ceiling getting wet and paint peeling. Sun Coast installed a new roof on my home April . On May 22 I reported my kitchen ceiling was getting wet and the paint was peeling. A roofer caulked the flashing around an old unused chimney and told me that he would return to repair the paint damage and for a small coast put a new cover on the chimney crown that sealed the chimney. He did not return. In June I called Sun Coast and another roofer came and took pictures of the ceiling and a tear that I noticed in old roofing material that covered a water damaged rafter the new roofing was attached to. In August I talked to the office manager and was told it would be two weeks before any repair could be made. In September I was told the Manager was out of town

Heavy equipment caused damage to driveway during roof replacement. Driveway replacement was promised but not completed. Sun Coast committed to replace my driveway due to damage caused by heavy equipment used during a re-roof of my home. The roof was replaced in August . Sun Coast's Wayne Z stated that the driveway would be replaced. This has not happened. Nate L and Mr. Z took pictures of the damaged driveway. Repeated phone calls and emails to Sun Coast's office have not been answered.

The Material he choose was from ***, *** loaded his roof and the sheer weight of the material damaged his driveway. We have put a claim in with *** so, the driveways can get repair. We are on there time table which is very frustrating for us at Sun Coast Roofing. As soon as we are notified from ***, I will let provide the information to Mrs.. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) "The response from SunCoast Roofing is not acceptable to me. The damage to my driveway with curb and gutter occurred over 7 months ago and I feel that 7 months is adequate to accomplish the replacement of my driveway. My roofing contract was with SunCoast Roofing and therefore they are liable for any damage that occurred regardless whether it was a SunCoast or a subcontractor vehicle. I want a specific communication timeline established to keep me informed. I have selected a contractor to replace my driveway and want a financial settlement to cover the replacement cost of the driveway and curb and gutter." Took them months to "try" to fix our roof only to pass the blame on so many other problems. Destroyed the inside of our house in the mean time. Now they are saying we are out of luck. Kevin *** said they would take care of it and fix the inside problems and outside months later we are still left with a leaking roof. 8 times they came out to try and fix it. Putting the blame on other things instead of fixing it. Worst company service never answer the phones. And pass the blame. Left our roof completely open and caused so much damage the first time they tried repairing it. And then it all went down hill from there. One person says it's the chimney. One person says it's not etc. no one has fixed anything

Business Response Dear Customer. As for your issues. We have tried to take care of your home in response to what you told us was wrong. When we arrived, you had already had major water damage to your ceiling. This was pre-existing and the estimator has plenty of pictures. When the construction services supervisor came out today, he was there to try and fix everything as per Mr. S. Apparently the discussion between the two of you didn't go well and you asked him to leave and never return. We have had the office reach out to you again, and discuss coming out there to fix the chimney which is the main issue. As you know, we are a roofing contractor which allows us certain areas of construction to work on that fall under the roofing guidelines. We have reached out to a chimney company to get the needed details so we can have them fabricate a new chimney top for your chimney. I have attached pictures of the work we have done to remove and replace the damaged lumber in and around your chimney from this leak that has been leaking for years. IF you have any issues with this, please contact Tammy and she will again try to see what she can do to please you. We had no repairs as stated we have lived here less than 5 years there was no leaking until this last year for us. And that's when we contacted you. If there were so many issues then it should have been said the first time you came out not the 8th! The first time someone left in the middle of the job and left our roof unfinished it poured that night and caused so much damage inside. The second time you came to fix it and a few weeks lasted was leaking again. The third time you said is was the chimney then someone came out and said it wasn't the chimney and fixed something else It still leaked . The 4 th. Time Someone said it had no Tyvek paper. The 5th time someone came to repair the paper that was missing but ended up doing something else like peel and stick paper the 6 th time something else. And did water checks on everything never said it was the chimney. Then today you send 5 people and they decide once again it's the chimney. Rory was the one who was asked to leave. decided to be very rude to my husband and I inside our house saying we cost you guys so much time and money that's when I was upset because it's cost us the time and money because here we are still sitting with a leaking roof and a messed up house! So yes I told him to leave when he became rude as anyone would And not once had your Comapny called me back or kept me informed on what's going on I have to call text and keeping calling to try and get a response.. Kevin S came to our house twice and he promised to fix our house on the Inside because of the first incident when your company Left our roof exposed and it poured I have videos of it just pouring from our roof. The roof had a small leak spot when we called you and it has just gotten worse from all this time and not being fixed. The chimney was supposedly checked so many times and if it was the issue it should have been told to us first and we wouldn't have this issue inside of our home. Speaking of Tammy she was supposed to return a call to me today and never did that's how you operate. Business Response Dear Customer Production did call and try and contact you the past few days. She has been trying to take care of you since the beginning. This is not false Also, when you look at the pictures before we got started on the repair at your home, you will notice an extreme amount of Brown Caulk around the flashing. Caulk is used by most people who are trying to fix things for themselves. As I explained to you in the last statement, we stand ready to fix everything regardless of how you may want to react. Production will try again to contact you to set up the next time we can have someone out there that is convenient for you

Sun coast roofing is not responsive on a defective warranty claim. Multiple phone calls after site visit and agreement of the issue. Now no response Sun coast roofing installed a new roof on my home at *** in 2017. In 2020 I noticed many singles all over the roof had excessive granule loss. I finally got SunCoast to review the issue at the home, and they too agreed it was a problem. The singles are 50year singles from GAF. They said they would contact GAF and get back to me. They believed a GAF representative would need to come to the house or a sample of the defective shingles would need to be sent to GAF for review. I have called several times with message trying to find out the status over the last month. Two weeks ago the staff at Sun coast said they would get back with me the following week. Well, 3 phone calls with messages asking for status and none has been provided. Next step was to go the the ComplaintsBoard.com to help get a response from Suncoast.

Patched 1-- leaked again and repaired (Date?)... Leaked again 6..Jeff "Needs New Roof". New roof installed 7..Used wrong nails made holes in ceiling..fist full of nails left in driveway. Crew returned for partial nail cleanup and to plug holes in ceiling leaving visible dimples...leaked again Kevin (Mngr.) "Not the roof, it's the chimney, we will seal Chimney and paint trim"..Crew Seals Chimney ... leaking worse... 5 pots out after damaging Antique chair, Chinese Museum Scroll and bric brac. Over 30 contacts .. Jeff hung up.. Tammy non responsive., Kevin "We sealed your chimney for free" ...If the fix was the chimney.. It didn't work! If it did work I Paid $5,850.00 for nothing.. Still have Leaks and no assurances roof to be repaired. HELP No contact over 2 weeks!

Business Response Dear Customer We have been in touch with you on several occasions. The original leak was from your chimney which we went out and sealed you old concrete chimney cap with a liquid applied sealant for FREE. At the time of this complaint, we were scheduled to have someone at your home on this morning. As for the wrong sized nails, I have no idea what you are referring to. The job was permitted and inspected by the city of Daytona Beach. We use the same materials on a daily basis and nothing changes. As for a refund, we have a 10 year warranty on your roof and if anything is wrong, we will take care of it. We also included in your job a 25 year warranty with GAF which will honor any issues with your roof system. Regarding SCR's Dear Customer response of October 8,2020: 1) The Original complaint was a leaking roof which was patched Dec. 17, 2019 with a warrantee. STILL LEAKED- 2) NEW ROOF with warrantee done July 2020. STILL LEAKED. 3)Chimney was addressed after continued leaks.aArea Manager "Never roof is chimney we will seal for Free and warrantee" 4)Note..STILL LEAKS. Paid for Patch and then paid for New Roof on advice from SCR roof specialists -both guaranteed to fix leak. 5)Re: "been in touch several occasions" "when"contacted, responses vague with no resolution, for appointment dates. 6) SCR had returned least 4 times to mend. Two leaks after New Roof installation-examined by service manager. 7) Re:"Chimney is problem, we will repair for free and that will resolve leaks." STILL LEAKS 8)Re: "Permitted and inspected by the City of Daytona Beach". NOTE: Inspection done after roofing crew acknowledged holes, cleaned up interior chips caused by too long nail holes. Crew said "nobody told us roof and ceiling thickness" and set appointment for another crew to fix. "We will caulk, and paint ceiling"... Crew, 2men, returned to caulk...however it Expanded into an unsightly blob. To date LEAKS WORSE. We have lived with pots and towels, on and off, since Jan. 2019, damaged, to ruined personal property, rude employees, the need to clean up driveway of "fist full of roofing nails, replace a burst hose used by crew", and time, energy and aggravation. STILL LEAKS AND TOWELS AT THE READY. Business Response Dear Consumer On October 20th we returned to your home and sealed around the chimney and then water tested the roof to assure that the chimney no longer leaks

Dissatisfied with roof materials, workmanship, response from company reps. 5 year warranty began March . 2 leaks interior damage lousy repair New roof installed March 1st leak found Jan 2019 Warranty Mgr and CS Mgr were rude and blamed the AC people for the leak and damage. I had to fight for 9 months to have repairs done and interior damage repaired. Sun Coast wanted me to file an insurance claim for the clothing/boots/belts that I lost due to mildew. I refused as the roof is under warranty. They never compensated for the loss of personal items. Now, a 2nd leak different area appeared Nov 2020. This area of leaks was approximate 15 x 3 foot area where the material was lifting and pooling water. The roof repair was completed within 2 weeks but they left a mess of liquid white material down the outside fence. I have called 3 times and the CS Mgr will not accept my calls. The receptionist has taken the message but no returned calls. This time I called insurance company because Sun Coast was so difficult in 2019. This leak caused over $1500 of interior damage to a bedroom. I hope the insurance company can subrograte the cost from Sun Coast. The roofing materials and the install are substandard to break down within 9 months of installation.

Business Response Ms. We have met with you and went over the issues with your roof and the tie in as it leads into the other three roofs your are attached to. We have a long warranty on your home and if anything happens, we will be more than happy to come out. We had Kevin and Tammy visit with you and go over everything Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Yes, Kevin and Tammy responded after I filed this complaint but not to my phone calls. . Kevin walked the roof and found more issues, created a punch list and that list was repaired Jan 28, 2021. Kevin was to respond to me with the warranty period and he has not. What exactly do you mean, "we have a long warranty on my home"?. My home owners insurance company reported your response to their inquiry of the roof issue was "the slope on the roof was not properly installed". How do you warranty an improper job? Business Response As for the warranty period, we will extend your warranty an additional (3) years As per the installation of the roof, we have passed the inspections from the city building department. We have installed the roof properly as per building code
