Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated review: Deceived

I have had my HICV since 2009, when I purchased it I was told I could always borrow points ahead if I didn't have what I needed to cover a reservation. In the past I did this prepaying those maintenance fees and those points were deducted from the next years points and the maintenance fees adjusted accordingly. Last September I booked a family vacation for 4 units, I needed extra points and I prepaid $1140.00 - except... it turns out they were rented points. When I had to cancel the vacation due to family scheduling conflicts, I called to ask if that money could be applied to a current maintenance fee and am told that they were rented points and are NON-REFUNDABLE. So, unless I can use them in the next few weeks, I'm just out $1140.00. At the time of purchase I was told if I was unhappy or found I wasn't using the time share, they would buy it back at the current rate - that was a lie. I tried back in 2016.
