Hermes Parcelnet Non-delivery of goods

Please note that Hermes do not deliver or leave a cared saying that they have even attempted to deliver. The email contact us response is and I qoute "We apologise, but are unable to deal directly with your parcel enquiry. Please contact the company with who you placed your order."
The telephone number: [protected] gives an automated message saying the same thing. I can only assume that their reputation of non-delivery is such they dare not speak to people.
If you are a retailer or anyone else for that matter considering using this courier firm for the delivery of your goods I would advise that you re-consider and use a more reliable courier service.

Last 5 orders I've placed with Amazon that have gone to Hermes for delivery have all been returned to Amazon with the "unable to deliver due to unforseen circumstances" excuse. No explanation as to what constitutes unforseen circumstances. Tidal wave sweeping delivery van away? Sheep stealing the van? Amazon also are next to useless at handling my complaint - they say they have no control over which delivery company gets parcels and I can re-order if I still want the goods! All other courier companies have no problems delivering to my address - even those with an average score for deliveries.

Many packages delivered successfully without fuss in the run up to Christmas except two, from different suppliers but same courier...Hermes. Repeatedly "out for delivery" but no attempt to deliver. Given the number of complaints about this company why is anyone still using them ?

I think the problem is that couriers vary drastically and it's luck of the draw. Our local courier sometimes won't deliver to our office as the car park is for staff only. How on earth do they manage to deliver in city centers with no parking? Oh, and their phone is always engaged. Seems like a joke of a company.

I have had a card through the door saying i was out ( even though i was in), but no number or contact details. It did have a date that they would re deliver and needless to say i stay in but they dont bother! I contacted the number at the bottom of the card which tells me that i would have to go to the website. After going to the website i finally leave a complaint as there is no other way of contacting them. An automated email pops to my in box saying that they cant talk to me about it and i should contact the sender. HOW CAN I WHEN I DONT KNOW WHO SENT IT!

AN AWFUL COMPANY WHO HAS NO INTEREST IN SERVICE YET HAS THE BALLS TO BRAG ABOUT THERE GOOD DELIVERY RATES ON THEIR WEBSITE! GOD KNOWS WHERE THEY GET THEIR FIGURES FROM!

I thoroughly agree. Hermes are an absolute nightmare. I stopped using one catalogue who delivered via these couriers but am now caught up in their ineptitude again through a second caralogue. And yet again - no delivery - no collection of items to be returned (in spite of arranging this 5 times). This catalogue are even worse - they don't give you the option of returning via the post office. NEVER EVER EVER EVER use Hermes - they are absolutely dreadful. It's about time these mail order catalogues realised that their customers deserve some service and that using Hermes can only lose them customers in droves.

I totally agree to with jane63. I love small businesses and their great ideas and decided to try Hermes since they always deliver my order from NEXT even on a Sunday. I live in North London and wanted a parcel sent to South East London (I wished I had just driven down there myself) . I won't bore you with all the details and phone calls I made to resolve this. But item turned up after 2 weeks in a State! The bag was torned and delivered wide open. Thankfully everything was still intact but I was very dissatisfied with the service and won't be using them in a loooooooooooooooooooh while, if I ever do at all!

Just found my Hermes delivery in the top of the dustbin which had been put out for collection, luckily I was putting in some extra rubbish, the dustbin lorry was at the top of the road so 10 minutes later my parcel would have been in the truck!
Found a card previously stuck in the door frame rather than posted through the letter box.
Diabolical service!

Same here. My parcel is sitting in their warehouse, and has been for a week. No update on their "tracking system" online..

Spoke to the place i ordered from, only to be informed that they are "having problems with their couriers picking orders up from the warehouse"

Despite all the negative comments around about HDN, I've personally never had a problem with them.
Hermes are just awful.
Getting really fed up.

I am in the process of waiting for a delivery and it has been sitting at it's central hub for days. Only 25 miles from me and it was only coming from Dundee! I have since ordered 2 items which were ordered after this afore mentioned parcel, one from USA and one from Holland - one took 4 days and the other took 48 hrs both UPS.

All I have to say is WAKEY! WAKEY! Hermes. Even Parcel 'Farce' is more reliable.

Don't use Hermes Couriers unless you want to send a parcel to someone you really don't like!

Hermes Parcelnet They don't deliver!

Lousy courier firm. I ordered goods from Ambrose Wilson catalogue and this courier firm did not deliver my goods. If you phone them they tell you to go back to the catalohgue, and the catalogue tells you that they have no contact with the courier!

Lousy arrangement, avoid, avoid, avoid!

Heres the phone number for Hermes couriers - if anyone needs it.

Hermes say delivered and signed for on 28th Feb. there was no-one in the house from 27th Feb until 1st March. So who signed ? Nothing shown on "View Delivery Signature" link. once they tell me on their contact email that it's been delivered and signed for, they then finish the "chat" and don't give me a chance to explain the non delivery problem.

I couldn’t agree more with all these comments. I am currently waiting for FOUR parcels from Hermes, all from different retailers, John Lewis, Phase Eight, Coast and Debenhams. All delivery’s are well over the 3-5 days delivery time promised on their websites. In fact they have had the one from John Lewis since 17th April! When I complained to the retailers concerned they all contacted Hermes and were all informed that there was a ‘postcode error’ or that parcel was ‘sent out with wrong courier’. Really? The staff at Hermes are either completely incompetent or lying, or perhaps both! I am just amazed and disappointed that reputable retailers such as these are still using Hermes. They must be aware of their reputation

I had a similar problem with Hermes Edinburgh. They claimed to attempt to deliver before Christmas through Amazon, There was somebody home 24/7 and I had to wait for 14 days for a refund and after that I went for Prime on Amazon to avoid Hermes delivery and guess what, again they used Hermes, that claimed another lie about attempting a delivery. Both my husband and I were home all day, and now I have to wait another 14 days for my refund. I opted out of Amazon's prime delivery £ 7.99 a month. I would expect Amazon to have better couriers than these fraudsters Hermes. AVOID HERMES wherever you live in UK!

My wife's recent exasperating experience with the non delivery of two items during December appears to echo the adverse comments given by other folk on this website. On both occasions the Hermes online tracking information claimed that these items had been delivered to her home address; one at 23.38 hrs and the second at 22.01hrs!
The house was occupied on both days/times and my wife assured the Hermes Customer Services person that neither parcel or any other delivery evidence was found on our property! They, (Hermes), dismissed the latter information and just referred her back to the vendor for a refund. The first vendor honoured the refund immediately and also aired his suspicion about the very late delivery time logged by the Hermes Courier. The second vendor was reluctant to accept the refund request. Fortunately, Paypal (used to pay for the second item), refunded the money under their payment guarantee protection system. Hermes provided no further assistance to my wife after the initial report of non delivery!

Warning - do not use hermes unless sending steel as there is a good chance of breakage. The personnel have to work at speed - like on a roman galley with the threat of a whip. This means that your package means nothing to them and if necessary it will be thrown about during transit from your place onwards. I have had 2 breakages reported - are they bothered. . . . Compare them to ryan air as regards customer satisfaction.

buy online from Debenhams and you will suffer the appauling service of Hermes to 'deliver' your goods. Hermes are a terrible company, their delivery drivers are appauling and will dump your goods anywhere on your property if you are not in. I recently confronted the delivery lady (who just had a car stuffed with parcels) about her leaving parcels when there was no-one in and her response "well you should make sure your in, and if not I will leave it - I am not messing about coming back" I was speechless at her attitude and told her never to leave anything without a signature.

Hermes are the best reason not to buy online from Debenhams

All these co-called Hermes drivers are absolute ###s. So you agree that you don't care about the service you provide because you are payed a couple of squid?! That is NOT the customer's problem, that is YOURS. If you have an issue with it either find a better job or start a damn riot you bunch of whiners. You have ONE job it's YOUR job and you provide a SERVICE for others... And this coming from someone who as had multiple retail and delivery driving jobs. And please' spare me the "you obviously don't know what a real job is" rubbish, you don't know what anyone else does on here and to be fair, it's irrelevant if the customer works as a binman or owns a bank. Their job is not in question. Yours is.
So yes, people have aright to be angry as hell, no i have no sympathy for any driver. It's a hard life. Deal with it. Everyone else has to and a lot of people work for pittance, or even volunteer and still provide better services. If you admit that you have no care or pride in your job and admit you dont care about customer's parcels then you should not be touching people's good, you should be using that rage and figuring out why the hell you get paid a pitiful amount! Then maybe you can actually do your jobs better. Better still, quit.

Parcel was never delivered, and I thought Yodel was bad...!
Have even had my Bin sign for an item and was left in the bin "On bin day".
Have never had any problem with Parcel Force but am deeply out of pocket with both Hermes and yodel, If they cant be bothered to deliver then your simply not going to get your parcel, Signed for but not delivered, They should be tracked themselves so it can be proved that they where at your Address like some of the better company's. Going to get CCTV with time stamp so can prove it when they don't deliver, I'm badly disabled so in 24/7 plus my dog gives me warning that someone is has pulled up outside well before they get even close to the door.
Maybe some of you are lucky with the couriers but with us its sadly a lottery if your going to get your package or not..
