This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

Back in february I decided to start my own business and got everything in order from february through march. April came around and I said okay, well I got everything except my website. I knew I couldn't do it myself no had the time so I researched the web and up came this advertisement for heritage web solutions with an eye-catching offer of $199 and up.

I contacted them, and locked into a packed of two payments of $279 with $60 a month hosting fees. I felt that the hosting fees compare to other companies were expensive but the package deal seem good and after one year you have the option to choose another hosting company.

Well people, it is now may 7th, and to date I have $1000 + taken out of my account with absolutely nothing to show for it. Nothing! No web design, no logo, no responses when you leave messages for these in charge account managers for like a week or more. It's frightening to know people who claim to be professional designers can do this. If I had diligently research this company like I do everything else, I would have never went with these people.

As I wait on the phone and listen to the prompts and I know there may be new customers calling in on other lines I wish I had the power to reach out and save them the difficult frustration! Please people, if you are serious about your business and customers do not use heritage web solutions. Your time as a business owner is precious and vital. Your monies would be put to better use with a company that puts you and your priorities first.

This company never fails to take monies from you account but can't seem to produce the works. I really, really don't know who gave these people licenses to work with consumers and why the hell are they still in business!

WELL YOUR ASSESS BETTER BE! Keep on emailing me AMERICA and I will keep on telling you the God given truth about this company. Why should you pay these jokers your hard earn money for them to send you a bull ### letter like this?

They say they are professionals but as I tell America, DOES IT TAKE PROFESSIONALS FROM APRIL 1ST TO JUNE 25TH TO NOT HAVE A (OH I'M SORRY A 4-5 WKS TURN AROUND TIME AS HERITAGE CLAIMS) AND STILL HAVE ZIP, ZERO TO SHOW!

RUN [censored] RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN, DON'T LET HERITAGE CATCH YOU THEIR THE DRAIN YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS MAN! Check this letter out I received from them today:

Dear Ms.

Heritage has communicated to you our decision on the refund. We have essentially built your entire site and there is no basis for a refund. However, in the interest of good will, Heritage will offer a 25% refund on the condition that you sign a Settlement Agreement.

Otherwise, you are free to contact an attorney or the BBB, or to pursue any other legal means. However, in the event you do such, this offer is off the table.

Respectfully,

Operations Management

For the countless people like myself who has been offered a valued package deal by heritage web solutions and was never delivered must less in 4-6 weeks do yourselves a favor and carefully read their tos statement. This is the only defense that heritage will offer your at the end after they have completely sucked you dry is look at our tos statement, if we did some work for you... Oh well web site completed or not, like it or not, you are not entitled to a refund.

You have your vision of a business, you pursue that vision. You apply for the necessary paperwork, license, permit etc so you feel all the hard work has been done on your behalf. You have your suppliers/distributors lined up. You reaching the home stretch and did all the research their is to be done. You google a web designer and you are bombarded with heritage web solutions at least in the first page even into the second. You research heritage web solutions, you see their advertisement of #1 ranking in the country/nation (whatever) you look at their testimonials and you believe that they must be good. You researched them on the bbb and you find that they have a satisfactory record. You call and they promised you a up and running web site with a turn around time of 4-6 weeks. You wish you could have it sooner but you know the type of professionalism your looking for you say to yourself maybe this is a reasonable time for excellent quality. You pay your monies down and they tell you when the second half will be taken out and then state, oh, in order for us to build your web you must host with us for one year.

You submit your content as they instructed you. And then you wait, and email, and phone, and wait, and email and phone... Then a panic overwhelms you, is this company legitimate? You do some more research and you found a site called /link removed/ or the complaint board that you are now reading. What the hell is going on you say, why didn't i see this before?! You type in heritage web solutions and your mouth begins to drop. Oh my god! This can not be happening to me. Please god this can't be real!

For all you victims that check back here to see if their are any new victims, don't forget about the upcoming potential victims of heritage web solutions. Please, please, use whatever energy you have left to report your story to [redacted].com, this complaint board, ic3.gov (internet crime complaint), utah district attorney, local law enforcement in provo, utah, dr. Phil (stopping this company publicly may be more successful in reaching a larger audience), research who their local news people are and usually they will have an investigative department that will take complaints of abusive companies/services in their community.

This company must be held accountable for what they have done and continue to do. We are now victims and we should not walk away and just let this company tactics to continue. Each of us must, must do our part to bring this company to a complete stop. This is not the way we do business in america. We are a land of opportunity. And my opportunity was taken away from me. Two years of planning and goals. All i wanted was the best that web design had to offer at an affordable price. Victim, after victim after victim. This company spend a lot of our non refunded money and monies that they continue to take from existing customers to keep the complaint board and /link removed/ from showing consumers who google in web design. And that is exactly why some of us victims were not able to find these complaints initially.

They often say that companies like walmart and other companies have problems and complaints but the difference is between a company that rectifies the situation to please the customer and a company that just takes money from the customer and you can't make a u-turn after the monies are in their hands.

I can no longer tell you that I have any confidence in this company. I have paid them about $1,200 plus 2-3 months of hosting fees. This is what they would do. At the initial sales call they sound really professional and all that and make you think that they would complete your web in 4-6 weeks. But be VERY, VERY CAREFUL! Go to their web page, go to the bottom and READ their TOS statement. They contradict themselves with what they tell you over the phone (4-6 weeks) then they tell you in their TOS statement on the bottom of their web page that they can't guarantee a finished custom design web.

America / Business Owners such as myself. I wish I knew about them from the beginning. After my first initial complaint on this board, that was when I received a phone call all of a sudden stating that my information has gone to a web designer and she will get in contact with me. Look at the date of my initial complaint on this board (Roxanne). They first took monies out of my account May1st, and at the date of my first initial complaint was when my web was built.

But get this, I was contact by one of their account managers and was told that my complaint on the complaint board was a violation of terms with heritage web and I need to remove it. My freedom of speech?! I don't think so. In the mean time they played the game really well. My web designer finished the web and you know like when you have changes to make and such and you resubmit it for the changes you want made. The designer told me she can't make anymore changes until I take the complaint down and this is what she was told by I know who.

I submitted my content from April okay, and was never contacted that I was submitting anything incorrect as far as format or the way I sent it. After the designer is finished you would think that they just upload the information on your site because after all you are the ones that have to do all the damn work because they would charge you I think $2.75 per entry. They had me send them an email stating that I have in fact submitted all my content so we could move on to the next stage. I confirm the email and sent it back. Their the ones suppose to be running the show and so if you send any additional content after that if they have a problem with that you would think they would say hey, we already started on your product entry and anything sent after your initial confirmation of content email would be inputed by you. Nothing of the sort.

Anyway I have only 103 products in my store and about 33 of those items I tried to input myself although I paid them an extra $297. to input up to 5000 products in my store. If they had any interest in finishing my product entry in a timely manner, they would have completed most of my categories. It 's like they say if you submit content after an initial email they can't start anything. If that were true then they would have told me not to sent anything and never started in the first place. They are full of it. Even if I submitted content why didn't they start on what was previously submitted?

Anyway, information that they inputed ALL, AND I MEAN ALL was basically wrong. They're suppose to have a product entry department but yet the supervisor of my account manager is the one inputting my information? A supervisor? I don't think so! I have two kids I told this same person I would help her but resubmitting my baby shower content to help her out I did that in exactly one and a half days and it was because I was dealing with my kids in between. So if you have a product entry person doing product entry all day why have my items been on stand still for days in and out. ALL of my baby shower items had NO pictures and even when I resubmitted it the way she asked me to, they still weren't done. This one lady on /link removed/ said it took the 18 MONTHS to finish her website and all this time, they would but up a bull ### welcome site talking about you are now live. I said to the supervisor that was supposedly working on my product entry "so when is all of this going to be finished by Christmas" she said " yes, I should be finished by then." I told her okay, that was a joke but she tried to smooth it over. What kind of ### company is this.

Website has gone live my ###! They charge you $59.99 a month while they move at a slow snails paste doing ###. Even the product entry that I tried inputting myself was doing nonsense. For example I inputted several time that one of the cake pans were $18.99 several times and it always came back as $0.00. This company is ### America and if you don't want to waste your TIME and VALUABLE MONIES. PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE DO your research and stay away from this company. What a damn DISASTER, DISASTER! Anyone who has had problems or continue to have problems with this company, I urge you to contact their District Attorney Office in Provo, Utah and now telling our story to Dr. Phil so that he can expose these people nationally for what they are! FRAUDS!

I payed 200 dollars to have flash buttons put on my site. After a month of going back and forth with customer service they told me it was already completed when the work never started. They said when you hover over the buttons they flash green and I told them thats been doing that for 4 months. They wont refund me they said they just did that even though the technician says he didn't do anything. Heritage Web Solutions now known as hit wont help me. I have sent tons of emails to all their complaint departments they will most likely post after I post this saying contact there 800 number and or email them at customerservice@hitwebdesign.com or qca@hitwebdesign.com or ceo@hitwebdesign.com Trust me you have to send tons of emails to those three emails to get a response. I have called them so many times for help and they wouldn't help me. They are now riping me off saying the work is done. HIT web design stay away. There customer service wont help. All the like to do is sell there service and make you wait months to do anything even though they have the resources. They will tell you after you sign up they have know SLA that's service level agreement. My site was supposed to cost 2999 it's now cost 2000 and still not done. This company will rip you off. HIT Web design should put and S in front of HIT. This company is also Mormon Owned. Their articles of faith state be honest in your dealings with your fellow man. I thought when i signed up with them they were honest. They just sell empty and very late results. I have emailed all of them 800 plus times since the start of my site and its still not done. HIT web design when you read this, this is no new news for you grow up and be honest will your customers tell them we will finish your site when its conversant for us. Also the designers will only email when the site is done so your site will never look the way you want it unless you call and email hundreds of times. Come on give me an AMEN on this report. Just google search HIT for reviews I am telling the truth as God is my witness and I am LDS also. These are just bad mormons.

You can file a complaint through the Federal governments consumer protection agency. They are like your State's Att Gen, but in place to investigate internet businesses. They are required to investigate your claim, and legally pursue it for you (as long as your complaint is not BS).

People who have not received websites or services promised by Hit Web Design or Heritage Web Solutions need to take the following actions to make sure that they get their money back, and also so that other people do not suffer the same fate that you did.

Step One: Give your credit card or bank a call and do what is called a "charge back" and dispute any and all charges posted by Heritage Web Solutions
Step Two: Contact the Utah Attorney General's Office and file a formal complaint about Heritage Web Solutions
Step Three: Contact the BBB in Utah County and file a formal complaint with them
Step Four: Contact your local news paper, radio and TV station and share your story about your experience with Heritage Web Solutions
Step Five: SHARE and POST your story on as many websites as possible, so that others will not go through what you had to endure!

Please help others avoid what you had to endure!

Also, there is a clause in their so called "agreement" that gives them the right to hold $350 for doing nothing. The agreement is automatic at some point but I don't know when.

I started a site with this company last year and the nightmares began almost as soon as I signed the contract. We began the construction phase in April of 2008 and the site - a writers workshop - took 6 months to complete and was nearly double the price I had signed on for by the time they had finished hitting me with ‘up grades’ and ‘add ons’.

A very long story made short – the site to this day has never worked right. Getting even the smallest of issues attended to was like pulling teeth. At one point the person assigned as my account manager left the company - no one informed me for two months. Two months I was sending him e-mails and voice mails asking when the next problem would be solved and at no time did anyone bother to mention that the guy wasn't even there any more!

I was never assigned a new account manager or primary contact person.

I haven’t been able to even log into my site for over 6 weeks, the password were corrupted ‘somehow’ and my issue has been moved up to the mystical “tier two tech support”. I am not even sure they exist on this mortal plane, since no one has yet to return a call or attempted to contact me in 6 WEEKS.

This company makes sleazy Used Car Salesmen look honest.

If you haven't sent them money yet - Don't! Run far run fast and never look back, there are several other design companies out there with the skills and integrity to build your site. Just don't use these clowns.

People who have fallen prey to Hit Web Design need to call their banks or credit card companies immediately and dispute ALL charges from Hit Web Design/ Heritage Web Solutions etc and do Charge Backs!

Also you need to contact the Utah Attorney General's Office and file an Official Complaint about this unethical company operating in the state of Utah.

When you call to dispute your and get your money back at Heritage Web Solutions from my research it shows that you need to talk to Tanner Wolsey, Matt Nelson or Lance Card.

These are the only people who can get your money refunded.

PLEASE GET YOUR MONEY BACK BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!

Has anyone noticed that all the responses posted by Hit Management are identical? They have one or two form letters that they slightly modify to fit whatever complaint they are addressing at a particular time... One starts "it is in our best interest to work with customers..." and the other one starts "At Hit Web Design we are committed"... Just check the messages s/he has sent and you'll see!

This is yet another proof that they couldn't care less about the customer... Not even for this they take the time to really dig into what's going on...

I'm also in for a civil suit.

CAN WE SAY "CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT?"

I agree with "John Doe" in 4) Corruption! Corrupt CEO's who only care about profit and don't give a damn about customer service, or quality of work, or paying fair wages. Notice how they spend all day trying to post positive feedback about the company, and dealing with clients who are fed up to the point of calling a lawyer. If they just did the right thing and hired more people to cover the client flow, gave their designers enough time to create a quality product and to spend enough quality time with each client then people will be happy and satisfied, and not feel that they are ripped off or scammed.

DO NOT BELIEVE ANOTHER CEO MESSAGE FROM THIS COMPANY. I have tried numerous times to settle my issues with HWS and even sent SEVERAL emails this so called "CEO" because I saw this email address on "[redacted] .com" but NOTHING has been resolved to date. NO finished website, but yet ONE YEAR LATER, they are still asking me to pay for an unfinished website's hosting.

I had a 4 page website that HIT/HWS/HERITAGE WEB SOLUTIONS (or whatever you want to call them) NEVER FINISHED OVER A PERIOD OF 7 MONTHS! I gave them ALL of the sales page copy and images, except my banner, and they still couldn't finish my site quickly...and one of my pages was just an I-FRAME. FINALLY IN APRIL OF 2009, I WROTE THE CEO A LETTER BECAUSE THEY INSISTED I PAY THEM FOR AN UNFINISHED WEBSITE. RIDICULOUS! Here it was April of 2009, and paid them in June 2009, and they NEVER finished my website. My site was SUPER EASY, but they didn't finish, and shuffled me around to 4 different designers, and one even told me "I don't know how to edit a contact form, call Heritage and ask them to re-assign you to someone else." This guy worked from his home. My first designer had family issues that didn't allow her to finish. I still have her text messages in my mobile phone during my time working with her and one also explaining why she couldn't finish my project. She was subcontracted by HWS to complete my project.

Today, I decided to call HWS because they sent me a bill for months of hosting and called me to resolve the billing issue. WHAT A JOKE! I have worked with numerous design and hosting companies, and no one EVER told me I have to pay them for the time they spent developing my website on their servers, ESPECIALLY if they didn't finish the project I paid in full and in advance for. Last year (2008), when I noticed they were dragging their feet, I told them to cancel my flash banner and credit my account for hosting, which totaled 8 months worth of hosting. They did so, but NEVER finished making the changes to my website, nor gave me a quality end product.

I have MUCH to say, but I know its a waste to spend much more of my time on these guys. I have several websites by different companies and freelancers. Its companies like this who make us run to overseas freelancers who offer better service and prices.

RUN RUN RUN! RUN RUN RUN! RUN RUN RUN! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY.

IF ANYBODY WANTS TO START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, I'M IN! SET UP A DOMAIN FOR THE CLASS ACTION AND LET US KNOW.

At HIT Web Design, we are committed to maintaining the highest levels of honesty and integrity. We have been able to resolve most of the customer’s complaints from this website. However, there is no such thing as a complaint free company. Research any large company and you will find they have complaints posted about them on the internet, whether justified or not. There are simply a handful of individuals who, regardless of the merits of the issues, post slanderous and/or negative comments. Let me assure all who read this that those few who complain are less than 1% of our total volume of business. Heritage has been able to satisfy every complaint posted, given that customer gives us the opportunity to do so.

As a company with more than 200 full time employees and nearly 300 independent contractors, glitches and problems will sometimes arise, but we are optimistic about our future. Our employees are committed to working hard for our customers. Those who fail to meet the high standards we have set are asked to leave. Naturally, some of those terminated employees have chosen to take the lower road and post slanderous statements. We feel sorry for them. All we can say is that we wish them the best in their new careers and hope they will be more respectful to their new employer.

Our employees and contractors are compensated with competitive wages and benefits packages. In the past, we experienced issues with our payroll-processing bank on a few checks that were processed through the wrong account. We have since changed bank processors and the problem has been eliminated. All of our employees and contractors have been and will continue to be fully compensated for the work they perform.

HIT Web Design is a successful company that has been recognized by such organizations as Entrepreneur Magazine and Inc 500, and is ranked in the top 500 of privately held companies nationwide. If you have a concern, please contact me personally, and I will resolve it.

If you have a specific complaint or concern, please communicate directly with me at QCA@hitwebdesign or CEO@hitwebdesign.com.
My personal promise to you is that HIT Wed Design will be completely fair and equitable with you.
Warmest Regards,
Quality Control Administrator

I have never experienced the kind of nightmare I had with Heritage (now HIT Web Design). The company has cost me thousands, and my professional reputation. At this point, I am getting legal advice because I have never seen a scam so blatant, so completely free of customer satisfaction, and so careless, especially when we communicated how important our web project was to our future business at the outset.

We paid on time. They didn't deliver. We demanded satisfaction. We couldn't get an account exec on the phone.

Stand clear of this company at all costs. If I have my way, I'll drive them into the ground with legal damages.

I do have deliberations in the works through the Utah BBB. The only attempt that HWS made to resolve things was to continue to work with me... lol Yeah, want to get back into that rat race.

I am spreading the word that they have changed their name to Hit_Web! Keep a watch for this!

I too had troubles with Heritage, but when I got into a jam similar to all those expressed, I immediately sent my complaints to the CEO. Within one hour he got involved, not by contacting me which is fine, but by ensuring that I had the resource people available to fix the problem. I ended up with a beautiful site because I got more senior people involved.

However, the Zen cart issue is a real problem as are many of the enhancement charges. I paid for it and although I can take it with me, I cannot take the back end stuff. What is the point in that - the backend is the Zen Cart. Prices are very, very high at this place, not for web development, but for all the extras. I am moving on to a new hosting company and consider Heritage a "growth experience" in my new venture as an ecommerce merchant. I consider the money just gone. The new company is relacing everything for me, cart, security certificate, etc. for no charge because of the Heritage reputation - they feel sorry for me.

While I would never recommend this company, I suggest that rather than worry about bad experience, know when to write it off and move forward. At least the next time, you will know what questions to ask and how to protect yourself. I am posting many of the unnecessary charges and enhancements under "education" and writing off the entire experience.

They've changed their name to HIT. Beware of HIT design. You'll be "hit" in the pocketbook if you don't.

I have ABSOLUTELY no pity for any of you. A custom website by a real graphic designer is anywhere for 2, 000-30, 000, dependant on what you are looking to do. You people are just being cheap and trying to get a phenomenal website for mere pennies! You get what you pay for, stop being so cheap and you'll get a great website by a REAL designer.

I had to laugh when I saw the comments from Mr. Stone. That must be some sort of form letter that he has saved, because I have seen the exact duplicate more than once. That should be a sign right there, that a company CEO has a form letter to send out to all the complaints on their company...

Anyway, I will be brief and just say that I too have been scammed by HWS! They got me for almost a grand total. If you like throwing money away, please give it to charity instead of HWS, atleast it will do someone some good.

I agree strongly with you. I have paid all that I owed to them, didn't get the website done and running, after over a YEAR of trying to deal with them, I asked for a refund, was denied, complained to the BBB and now they are saying that I owe them MORE MONEY! Oh, forgot to note they were taking out hosting fees for a website that was not even up and running for about 8 months! That is not refundable or negotiable either.

Yes, anyone who decides to deal with this company, I feel for you!

I too have appoximately the same invested with HWS and I too am dealing with much delays and runarounds. I filed a complaint to the BBB and they are even trying to delay the outcome there. It has come to seem like I am dealing with a bunch of kids with this company. It is children that try to take the long route in a story or explaination to finally get to the point.

As far as Brad Stone's comments, that is another bunch of bullcrap spewing. I have not yet seen where HWS puts the customer's satisfaction first. If so, there would not be so many complaints here about them. As far as saying they feel they go beyond to make things right, that is a huge joke. All they look out for is their best interests.

I strongly regret ever entering into a business agreement with this company and I feel sorry for anyone else who does before doing their research on them, as I did.

You look pretty incompetent yourself. You don't know how to use punctuation. The designer probably couldn't understand what you wanted because they didn't know where your sentences started and ended. And you are probably one of those people who are really hard to work with.

I am currently using Heritage Web Solution, now HIT. I have found them to be dysfunctional. The sales lady tells me that the technical support people will solve my problems. She does not call back when I leave messages on the phone. I am constructing a Dating Web site but they do not seem to know how to go about it. I know more than them. They are quick to sell you something. They invoiced me 999 dollars for the web design, 200 for a logo, 250 for 13 months of hosting and 900 dollars for software to load advertisments. Fortuntely these are invoices. They have not delivered anything; it seems that I am doing most of the work- having a prior dating site, I seem to know more than them. They are quick to sell somthing-that's it. They don't know the number of pages required for the dating website; they say two is enough when it is not. They say my new site is really to advertise on and not for dating. That I make my money through advertising. What baloney. I'm a very dissatisfied new customer. They said in a letter to me thet they offered me a discount from the web package from 1299 down to 999, therefore I need to work. I truly feel that they have voided any so called contracts with me because tey have not delivered on their verbal and written agreements. You can contact me at ynkro@aol.com My name is Bob Yanik

Well, I guess you are one of the lucky few. I could not get anything fixed with my site and was very unhappy with the way things were handled. On top of all of that, they "let" me out of the "contract" and refused to send me any refund for the very little they did.

I worked for Heritage Web Solutions, and I can tell you that it was a horrible experience. All that they care about is making money, and they don't care how much their employees lie to their customers, as long as they make a sale. The managers are constantly yelling throughout the day to sell anything that you can, whether the customer needs it or not. I dealt on a daily basis with customers that had been lied to, or had something charged to their credit card that they had not authorized, and when I went to my manager and told him that I didn't think that a company should be run that way, I was told that I needed to just ignore it, because all companies are run that way. I had people call in on a daily basis asking to speak with a manager because they didn't like what was happening to them, and the managers won't get on the phone. Please, don't do business with this company. Maybe if they start losing business, they will start doing things differently.

I think I need to add a "freaking" to your awful.

My experience was freaking awful.

Research this company first. Please.
They advertise well but otherwise the service and structure of their operations is terrible and the customer bears the brunt.

I even got them telling me it was my browser that was the problem. I even went as far as to make sure I did have the latest updates and all, which was a waste of time since I am set for auto updates, to make sure and still found out they had just done a shoddy job with the creation of the site and, as you said, were passing the buck to get out of the few minutes it would take to fix the problems. It is a shame that there are companies out there that are doing things like this to hard working people trying hard to make a few dollars!

I really wish I had found this thread a year+ ago before I got roped into the HWS Scam! I too have had a bad dealing with them and am right now getting things together to go to the BBB and start a lawsuit against them! This is one of the poorest companies I have ever had dealings with and when you get virtually nothing for the hard earned money you spend trying to get a little bit ahead, it is very dis-heartening! I have been spending a few minutes every day trying to spread the word to everyone that they need to steer clear of this company unless they are just looking for write-offs or just looking for somewhere to waste a lot of money and time for nothing but hard times in return.

hmmm... I am in a very similar predicament and I also am having alot of trouble with them giving me back my money. I will try to do as you did and try the court thing. I was in the middle of getting all of my facts together to submit to the BBB, which I will still do. I have family in Utah that I visit on occassion and I will work that angle while I am there. It may take away from my visit, but will be worth it to get my $1, 000 (appox.) back from them. Thanks for the info!
