Harvey Norman Vaccum and manager attitude

Vaccum battery last less than 5 minutes and stops. Advised to return the vacuum to harvey norman Warrawong i did this on 21.08.22 time 2.32pm. When I pointed out the sign at the entry to the store after asking for a replacement "Shop here with confidence" the manager became rude. I am left without a vaccum and have 2 grandchildren to care for. I was expecting better service from Harvey Norman. Such a huge company replacement of my $367.95 vaccum would have no impact. Customer service is way off track.

Desired outcome: Replace the vacuum. The value would not have any impact on harvey norman

Harvey Norman No update on self-collection status

On 31 July 2022, I ordered and paid for a Karcher WD3 multi-purpose vacuum cleaner via the Harvey Norman website. According to the email I received right after the purchase, I should receive the "Ready for Collection" email within 2-3 working days. After 3 days, I did not receive any emails or calls from Harvey Norman.

On 4 August 2022, I called Harvey Norman's customer service hotline. The operator said that she would forward my enquiry to the "respective department", and she would call me back after she got some answers from the "respective department". No one from Harvey Norman called.

On 11 August 2022, I called Harvey Norman's customer service online again. The operator said that the payment for my transaction (via GrabPay) didn't go through. I said it's not possible because I received a receipt from Grab stating that the payment was successful. Does Harvey Norman need 8 working days (excluding Saturdays and Sundays) to tell me about a payment issue? They should have updated me within 2-3 working days! If I hadn't called, I wouldn't have known about it!

Desired outcome: I am still waiting for Harvey Norman to resolve this issue. As a global organisation, Harvey Norman should know how to treat their customers better by keeping us informed timely.

Harvey Norman Rim lock for metal gate

A sales man named nga yin serbe lee from millenia walk flagship store sold me a rim lock for my metal gate on 4th may without checking if the item is available in stock. I tried calling harvey norman on 14 may noticing that nobody contact us about the lock installation. A customer service picked up my call and told me that he will investigate on the issue and give me a call back within the day (14 may) itself, however no call was received. I have sent in multiples email (see attached) to harvey norman, no reply at all. Until today, 18 may, after 2 weeks since the purchase was made, the supplier called and inform us that the rim lock model that we chose was not available. This is ridiculous. Ms. Serene sold us the item without checking if she has it in stock or neither she inform us anything. Harvey norman customer service really disappoint me despite this is my first time making the purchase. Perhaps this issue can be expedited and resolved asap. I would like harvey norman to investigate and give us a proper explanation and solution.

Harvey Norman Marquise 9 piece outdoor rectangular dining setting (product code 78579)

We purchased your Marquise 9 Piece Outdoor Rectangular Dining Setting (Product Code 78579) on the 21/04/22.

It was delivered a couple of days later & we set it up about a week later (approx. 2 weeks ago)

5 of out of the 8 chairs have these cracks/chips in the legs.

The quality is atrocious, something I would expect from a cheaper package from another store, not a Harvey Norman $3,000 set.

The cracks & chips were not there when we received it, they have gradually appeared over the past 2 weeks when we pull out a chair to sit on it. I did notice a very small chip on the first day on one of the legs.

We purchased another 7 piece set through Harvey Norman Moore Park manufactured by the same supplier back in 2019 which is great quality, we still have this set so it is very disappointing the poor quality of this set , and why we came back to get our next purchase.

Can you please arrange collection and a full refund asap.

We have contacted the customer service team on the 9/5/22 and their response is as follows ( received 11/5/2022 and 1:57pm.

We have discussed this with our supplier and they have advised, that this is not a manufacturing issue.

They have made 2 observations from your photos,

1. The chairs which are a heavy quality show signs of being dragged or pushed rather than being lifted – this will cause any grade of timber to chip and splinter.

2. The surface that your chairs are on is very uneven, it looks to be a natural sandstone that is naturally textured and not all the same smoothness and height. This would also cause a timber of any grade to chip and splinter when caught on the tiles.

This is the reason for your chair legs to have chipped and splintered. There would not be a timber that would not react this way considering the weight of the chairs you chose and the surroundings they are used in.

We are unable to offer a refund as the quality and manufacturing is not in question. The issues are directly related to the surroundings and the way the setting is being used.

As stated we have purchased a outdoor furniture set previously from Harvey Norman and have had it for the past 3 years and have had no issues and on the same surface! , no cracks, no splinters nothing , and this happened with in 2 weeks of purchasing this.

The comment made about the surface being uneven is incorrect and I can tell you that outdoor furniture does not crack so easily when moved so that comment is completely incorrect, subsequently the chairs are not of 'heavy quailty" as stated.

The quality and manufacturing is definitely in question hence this complaint about the product.

The only reason we have purchased a new set is to upgrade the number of chairs as our family has expanded.

To receive a response like this is extremely disappointing and I would expect better from a loyal customer who has purchased many different products over the years from Harvey Norman.

Desired outcome: Please refund, or provide a better quality 9 piece outdoor furniture set that will not crack and splinter so easily when moved.

Harvey Norman Faulty chairs

I purchased a dining table 8 yrs ago with 6 chairs . The vinyl on the chairs are faulty . Its all peeled and cracked . The manager was contacted he doesn't reply back . So I payed $600 to fix it . Now the problem started again it's costing me $1300 . This dining table cost me $2500 in total . Once again manager doesn't reply back.

Harvey Norman Delayed delivery of beds

The beds we ordered were due in feb 2022. Hoppers crossing store told us they are delayed and are expected mid of March. We want the products that we ordered on time or we want a compensation for every delayed week for the inconvenience. In case of no or unsatisfied response, I will be contacting consumer affairs Victoria for further advice.

Harvey Norman Lenovo ideacentre a340 computer

We purchased LENOVO IDEACENTRE A340 (Inv # 777805, dated 01/12/21 @ 10.42am) as we always have trusted Harvey Norman for our business needs from word go we found the computer very bad and slow

We returned it to get a replacement

Now we received a call to come pick it up as it has been fixed and upgraded

If I wanted it repaired or upgraded, I would have bought a second hand computer or upgraded our existing computer

This is not acceptable and you will be contacted by fair trading also

Harvey Norman Terrible customer service, not honouring commitment and deceiving customer

I purchased a sofa at HN on 2nd Jan 2022 at Menara HN from Sales Man 805011 NUR MUHAMMAD LUQMAN HAKIMIE BAHARUM.

The sofa delivery date stated 8th Mar 22 on the Order Confirmation.

Between 22nd and 29th Jan I was trying to reach to the sales man via number [protected] but to no avail. Finally managed to speak to the sales man on 29th Jan where I stated my request to have the sofa delivered earlier than stated date. The sales man promised to check and call me back but he did not.

From 1st to 12th Feb, I again called HN from the same number and couldn't get through after hours and hours of calling and waiting. Then on 9th Feb I went to the branch to seek explanation as to why the sales man did not call me back.

The Branch Manager by the name of Serena Lee promised me that she will personally handle this matter and have her sales man call me on Mon 14th Feb. I did not receive any call.

On Tue 14th Feb the sales man calls me and says that the sofa is being delivered on 15th Mar i.e. one week later from the stated date on the Order Confirmation. I told him this is absurd since I have been contacting HN to deliver the sofa before the 8th Mar.

The sales man said he will check with his manager Serena and call me back. Again no call back and today 17th Feb, I called the sales man. He quickly dismissed my call and said his manager is handling my order.

I requested for his manager Serena's number and was given and I called her straight away. Her first reaction is that she didn't even know that her sales man assigned my order to her. How incompetent of her as a Manager.

My 11 minutes conversation with her was very frustrating, unfruitful and full of lies. I asked her for her superior Lily Ong's number. She refused to give me citing that she will call the supplier and get the sofa delivered earlier. I told her why she had to wait soo long to make this call when I have been following for 6 weeks or more.

I demanded for Lily's number and Serena can go ahead call the supplier or make whatever arrangements in parallel.

After much deliberation, instead of giving me Lily's direct landline number, she gave me a customer support number.

How does HARVEY NORMAN hire incompetent, full of lies, untrustworthy branch manager who does not respect customer and treats customer with absolute no value?

I DEMAND AN ANSWER FROM HARVEY NORMAN AND A COMPENSATION FOR THE UNDUE STRESS THAT I HAVE BEEN SEVERELY BEEN PUT THROUGH WHILST DEALING WITH THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT, THE SALES MAN AND SERENA LEE!

I ALSO WANT HARVEY NORMAN TO DELIVER THE SOFA IN EXTREME GOOD CONDITION BEFORE OR THE DATE AS STIPULATED ON THE ORDER NOTE AS WELL AS A COMPENSATION FOR THE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE THAT I HAD TO ENDURE DEALING WITH HARVEY NORMAN PERSONNEL.

Harvey Norman Delivery of Microwave

Order #[protected] - On January 29, I bought a microwave oven on the Internet. The website said it was in stock. A few days later I learned that it was out of stock. I had to wait. On February 4, I received a message that it would be delivered to me on the same day by 5 pm. At 15 minutes to five, I called TNT to find out where my parcel was. And at 7 pm the same day I received an SMS that the driver tried to deliver to me but I was not at home, which is completely untrue. I'm retired and at home, all day long, plus I have a disability with my legs. For the past 4 days, I have been calling Harvey Norman every day, but the microwave has not yet been delivered to me. I called the store, they said to talk to TNT. The TNT supervisor told me that he could not talk to me and give me information and that he had to talk to the store. Your store told me that the delivery is done by another company and they cannot influence anything. On the 8th of February, I received msg from you that the item was delivered and the sale is complete. I called and was told the delivery will be done on 9th of February. Now it is 8 pm and delivery was not done. So for 12 days now I have been eating cold food from the refrigerator. I paid almost 20 dollars for delivery - and now for almost 2 weeks can not get this item. Harvey Norman did absolutely nothing to resolve this issue. The only thing they did is rebook redelivery - with no date on the booking. Recently i purchase few things from Harvey but this experience will make me think if I or my family and friends will consider to buy something from your shops.

I ask you to help me in receiving the microwave oven I bought - after all, I paid with my pension money for delivery.

Desired outcome: I want my item to be delivered immediately and I think the delivery charge should be refunded to me.

Harvey Norman Blank promise and poor attitude by sales representative

To whom to be concerned,

I would like to express my unsatisfaction of Sales representative Ms June which work at Harvey Norman Sunway Pyramid.

I bought a washing machine on 02 Jan 2022 and they mentioned able to arrange delivery after 10 Jan 2022, this is the main reason i agree to make payment to place order because they promised able to deliver after 10 jan 2022, order confirmation stated delivery date on 13 Jan 2022, but goods never deliver to me on 13 Jan 2022. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE to let customer waiting but at the end my washing machine never deliver to me. Another NOT ACCEPTABLE issue is Ms June never inform me in advance about delay of deliver of my washing machine.

I called to Ms June ([protected]) on 14 jan 2022 to follow up on my delivery but she said she is onleave and will ask her colleague to come back to me. On 15 Jan 2022, another sales representative from citta mall update me on my order, she mentioned my order only available after CNY (february), i called again to Ms June on 16 Jan 2022 but she never pick up my call, i tried again to call her but i found out she hang off my call and switch off her phone, after that i cant contact her anymore...

This is really ridiculous behavior as a sales representative, really unacceptable! We as a consumer that put our trust on Harvey Norman and place our order to you, now how is your sales representative treat us? FYI, i yet receive any call from Ms June to update on my washing machine status since she hang out my call. 

Desired outcome: Please get back to me on my order delivery date!!!

A couple of weeks ago we purchased a DALTON LOU LIFT CHAIR from the Harvey Norman store in Osborne Park - WA.

Were surprised that yesterday we had a phone call, confirming that the chair was ready to be delivered, when the salesman told us that the ETA 4-5 weeks ...!

The chair was delivered to us this morning, but when was unpacked and stetted up, we realized that what was delivered to us, is a used or demonstration chair.

Please refer to the attached photos where you can see, dust on wheels, dust on bottom supports, dust on leather - everywhere ... plus also attached to the chair, still the small pieces of leather, for the clients to choose the colour, etc ...

We are very frustrated with this situation and already went to the Osborne Park store to complain about it and asked for our money back.

We are clients of Harvey Norman for a long time and to compensate us for all the trauma involved, apart from the money back, we deserve a brand new chair delivered to us for free.

Please also find attached, copy of our receipt for the purchase of the chair.

Harvey Norman Customer service

To whom it may concern,

I am writing a formal complaint regarding the Harvey Norman Store in Tallaght co. Dublin. In June 2021 I went into this store to purchase new furniture for my new home. I was told there was a 10-12 week delay due to covid. This was fine for me as the house i was moving into was not ready until November of that year. i bought a number of items from kitchen appliances to bedding. the amount of money spent was about €6500 i think. in around September/October of 2021 i received a call from Harvey Norman informing me my goods had arrived and were ready for delivery. I explained that the house was not ready for a few week to which i was told that was fine that they would hold onto my belongings. 3 weeks later i contacted the store to arrange delivery as the house was ready. To which i was told everything was ready except for my king size bed and headboard. I told the lady on the phone there must be a mistake as 3 weeks prior i was contacted to say all my goods were ready for collection. why would someone call me to tell me this if there was stuff missing? the sales person did not know. I informed her that obviously my bed was given to someone else. this was not denied. she then offered a temporary base to use in the mean time. and confirmed that my bed would be in by the 2nd week of December. December rolled around and i contacted the store on 3 occasions to find out what was the story with my bed and 3 times i was told someone would call me back. No one called me back. then last week ( January 2022) i called the store again to find out about my bed. This time i asked to speak to management. a lady named Nicki helped me and scheduled my bed to be delivered for Saturday the 8th of January 2022. on Saturday the driver arrived at my door with my bed but no head board. he explained that he could not build the bed without the headboard. I then refused the order. I left my house and drove down to the Tallaght branch to find out what was going on. I had taken the day off work for my bed to be delivered. I carried the loaner base downstairs to be ready for my new bed and all of this was done for absolutely nothing. I have paid nearly 3000 euro for a bed i still do not have. I have spent over 10 000 euro in Harvey Norman since June of 2021. I can guarantee you now that i will never step foot in another Harvey Norman shop nor will i recommend this franchise to anyone. The whole situation was not only a disgrace but not 1 person in that store was helpful. I was lied to, I was forgotten about and i have been mistreated. And to top it all off i wasn't even offered any discount for my troubles. This is going on over 6 months. I have reported this store to the CCPC and i will be taking this further. I am disgusted in what has happened to me and how it was handled.

Harvey Norman No updates on delivery and no delivery as promised

I purchased a vacuum cleaner on 10th December via their Malaysia website and stated 1 to 7 working days for delivery. However up till now (29th December), no delivery has been made and they are not responding to emails and FB messages even though they are actively promoting on their FB. Understand that Malaysia was affected by flood but my order was made before the flood so it should have already been delivered. Even if they will need more time, they should inform the buyers. Worse company ever, they are large organization but very bad service. Customer service are non responsive.

Harvey Norman Electrolux refrigerator

We bought many products from Harvey Norman over a period of the last 1.5 years. The Refrigerator, was delivered on 5 November 2021 and it had dents on the door, which we pointed out straight away to the delivery person and indicated it and signed on the Delivery Note.

Todate, 29 November, the issue is not Resolved, despite many repeated calls, emails, etc.
We have not used the Damaged Fridge at all.
Can you imagine a home without a Fridge to store food, milk etc?

It feels like Harvey Norman has "pushed the buck" to Electrolux. I do not accept this. I expect support from Harvey Norman, as I am a good paying customer over these last 2 years. Whether its Electrolux or Harvey Norman that should replace the Fridge, is not the question here for me. Harvey Norman should do their utmost to ensure Customer support and satisfaction. It almost feels like Harvey Norman "wash their hands" of the issue.

I am at my wit's end without a Fridge. I want a new fridge, in Good Condition as I paid full price for a new, undamaged Fridge. Isn't this a fair request?

Harvey Norman Missing delivery and response to my email.

Would you want to place an on-line order at Harvey Norman, Singapore?

I placed an order on the 5th of November 2021 for a small toaster oven. Delivery is meant to take 5 to 7 working days. Since Harvey Norman is open seven days a week, 'working days' does not mean much in this context however, even if we were to interpret Sat & Sun as non working days, the oven should have been delivered by Monday the 15th.

By the 17th of Nov 2021, there was no sign of the oven or any correspondence from HN, SG. I called their customer support number and listened to 20 mins of advertisements and music, and gave up. When I emailed shortly after, I received an automatic response stating that someone will respond within 48 hours.

It is the 23rd of November today. To date, no toaster, no update, no response to my email either.

All in all, it appears, this outfit is not geared up to provide support for their on-line customers. Would you place an on-line order with this retailer?

My order no: 159431

Desired outcome: Deliver toaster and provide 50% refund. That is the only way management will register and address the issue.

Harvey Norman Disregard for customer and staff safety

I visited Harvey Norman in Joondalup Thursday at 5pm. Whilst walking passed a display shelf, I caught my arm on a plastic price tag rail. My skin was lodged in the plastic and my arm was cut and bleeding. I approached a staff member, (whom I was later advised represented Management) Initially this person showed no regard what so ever to my concerns and I felt she was being dismissive. My concerns was for the safety children, as the sharp object was at eye height. Upon approaching another staff member, who demonstrated the professional image one would expect from such an organisation. The dangerous item was removed. should. I was happy with this outcome. My wife had cause to return to the shop today and was quite disturbed to see that the sharp object has been reinstalled in exactly the same position. This blatant disrespect for Customer Safety is totally avoidable and in my opinion deliberate and stubborn.

Desired outcome: Implement a Continual Improvement Policy. Not Continual degradation of Safety

I have been a V8 Supercar fan for many years,

In fact, even before it became known as Supercars way back when Colin Bond and Craig Lowndes were competing.

I had always kept up with the Supercar series, however this year, I was unable to due to severe medical conditions.

You see, I had a Brain Tumor operation, and unfortunately it put me entirely out of action.

I lost interest in almost everything.

For that reason, I have been unable to see much of the rounds earlier in the season r.

I have hanging on my walls here, a lot of great memories, and that was what kept me going for the past year!

Now that I am on my way to recovery, I was wondering if you had any posters, DVD, race programs or any memorabilia at all that you could send me to invigorate me for the forthcoming season.

Harvey Norman Bedding

I have purchased a bed set from Harvey norman because it was in stock and they said they'll deliver with the next day ! The cancelled first delivery time then scheduled to another day, before delivery they called up and said that the box of the bed was damaged that's why they're unable to send it with the box which we didn't accept as we paid for a brand new one and more happy to have out 5-6K bed to have box so they ended up calling different city and it was delivered right from there.As soon as we opened it the bed head was damaged also bed frame was completely wrong size ( queen size instead of king size ) we let them know that this was happening and they sent a person to our house about 6pm and he just handed some woods which was again not what we wanted so he saw the bed head and accepted that it been damaged and he's happy to order a brand new bed head for us and meantime we can use this one until other ones arrives and he said he will order brand new bed frame as well and he left . They delivered bed frame next couple of days after and it was rapped around something like blankets behind the Ute and was not safe at all so we didn't accept it at all so the manager called my husband and shouting on him and behaving badly about why we didn't accept the bed frame ?! They said it was brand new but it didn't had a box anyway so it was display one ! We called head office and they couldn't help anyway and said that the manager wants to order a new one and has no Idea when they will be delivered ( at least 3 months) so we asked head office to cancel our order and pickup the wrong size bed from our house which they don't want to cancel it and I told them I'll take further option and they didn't care so here I am now .

Harvey Norman Service+product

I brought Smeg Freestanding oven, rangehood and fridge on one transaction and paid cash on 10/09/21 during covid lockdaown period.Goods dileverd on 30/09/21.After few days while we are waiting for an electrician we open the range good and noticed one filter was bent and damaged.So I call Harvey norman Thomastown branch to tell what we found and they organized 3rd party company to come and have a look.Then my plumber and elcrician came over to install the appliances found oven not working even when conected to power.So I call Harvy norman branch again and waited more days for 3rd party company to come and replace the clock on the oven then start working.After another 2 more days later we about to cook something in the oven noticed scratch mark across the back wall in side the oven.Again I contacted Harvy noman and report the problem.Once again call the 3rd party company to come and have a look and replaced the parts effected.I PAID cash for these good.I belive the Harvey norman send me defectiv goods so contact the manger at Harvey norman Thomastown branch and told the whole incident and he asked me to send all the photos I have but its almost 3 weeks nobody contact me .I am realy disappoited and frustrated.

Harvey Norman false advertisement

I paid for 2 Apple Iphones and had clearly specified the date they were required by, prior to purchase, It was promised the delivery date of my purchase was to be on 24th september, 2021

The order was placed and paid for on 18 Sept 2021 on that basis,

I had not heard anything from a Harvey Norman rep on the date mentioned so I called to chase up my order,

I have had numerous calls and conversations with rude, arrogant staff members with false and misleading information and still no products or delivery dates have been issued,

Reason for the purchase with Harvey Norman was due to confirmation of having the products on the promised and advertised dates,

It is now the 28th October 2021 and still no products.

Therefore the time frame that has elapsed is unethical.

Desired outcome: Products to be delivered within 7 days or full compensation for the loss of time
