Hello, I called twice last month and today to cancel my membership and I was told by your center that I must speak to you for cancellation. I am getting calls from your office member services [protected] and the estimated wait time to cancel is 20 minutes.

Based on the recorded message, I hear that I need to contact local Gold Gym and I am having difficulty in reaching your office. I am not living at College Station due to Covid Reasons and I do not require Gym services anymore. Please cancel and confirm.

Gold's Gym claim membership

Worst experience with gold gym. They are cheating the customers. I got 6 months membership and i introduce my 4 friends also. We paid the full fees. But after 3 months they suddenly closed without any notice. One of my friend just newly joined and he just use 2 days his membership. Now all our money waste. No customer care is attending our calls. whenever i called no one is attending the call. Why this international brand cheating us. My experience with fitness first was great. I regret why I choice Gold Gym. My worst decision. Return our money. Avtar [protected]

Gold's Gym Membership

One day suddenly the area branch closed and they are offering us upgrade option to use any other facility which is not convenient for me and many other members. They are not agreeing to refund for the tenure left in the membership.

Gold's Gym Customer service complaint about the general manager

To Whom It May Concern:

Date of Incident: July 21, 2021

I don't think the GM should still be employed with Gold's Gym after his treatment of me.

What happened...

I first want to apologize for having to bother you. I am NOT a complainer but feel the need to say a few words about my experience at the Gold's Gym Wintergreen Plaza location.

I should begin by saying I had every intention of joining Gold's Gym late Fall, because the Wintergreen Plaza location is walking distance from my place of employment, and I work out every day on my lunch hour. After my experience today w/Gold's Gym, I have decided against it.

I usually do a daily 3-mile walk. The air quality is bad today, so I decided it would be best if I used a treadmill instead of walking outside. I went online and got a free pass for Gold's Gym. When I went to the counter the employee (Shareeta, I think that is her name) asked if I had been a member before. I told her yes, but when I was a member, I just walked in and joined. I never used a free pass. I asked since I never used one, can I use this one for today? She proceeded to call the GM. She called his name and his response to her was What. The way he spoke to her seemed extremely rude to me. I think this should have been my first indication of how his and my conversation was going to go. I was told it was company policy that free passes are only for persons who have not been members previously.

He expressed to me policy but was just flat out rude from the beginning of the conversation. He in turn said I was upset, but it could have been further from the truth. I was honestly annoyed at his tone. His whole attitude was so, I do not care if you use our gym or not. I was blown away. I just recently ended my membership at ACAC in Germantown, so I could join Gold's (I will be going back to ACAC) because it is close to my work. No employee there would have ever spoken to me the way he did. They are complete professionals. He is beyond rude and should not be in the customer service business (when I find out his name, I will go to Yelp). I cannot believe this man is in charge.

After leaving the gym I called back in and asked for corporate office information, because I wanted to complain. The front desk person put the GM back on the phone and he yelled the whole time he spoke to me and then hung up on me. All the time saying he could not provide the information to me because of security reasons. Again, how is this man in charge?

I realize that my one membership will not make or break your business, but I promise to spread the word about this organization via social media and how unprofessional employees are.

In your response, can you please provide me with the Wintergreen Plazas GM name?

Gold's Gym The music that is played

I've been going to the golds in Waxahachie Texas. I find that music that is played is not suitable for working out in a gym. The music is very racist and offensive at times. Other times it's just boring and has no up beat to it for working out. I've notice also that virtually everybody wears earphones. Probably because they don't care for what is being played. plus it gets overplayed all the time. I suggested to one associate that was there that there needs to be certain days for certain styles of music and he agreed with me. Ranging from old style Rock and Rap music from the 80's and 90's to middle aged music suited for working out. He also agreed that the music being played was not the proper music for a gym.

Gold's Gym complaining about staff attitude and the broken down machines

Good morning, sir/madam
i want to bring to your attention that today at your mazyed mall branch where i am a member, there was a problem because of a lady using the cross trainer machine force ably even though it was my turn to use it,
i had entered the gym before this indian lady this morning by 6.00 am and i was heading towards the cross trainer, but she hurringly came to the machine and said i am going to work here now so i told her since i am here first i will be working here, but she force fully put her stuff down and put her mobile in the machine and started doing workout, ( see the camera ), even she did not bother to check in the ladies area whether the cross trainer was empty or no, when i went to the reception and complained to roberto he did not even bother to listen, it is really so bad for us guys who has the first right on these machines in the mens area but because of these ladies we have to wait,
i dont mind if the ladies are using the machines or they need more breathing space so they work outside, but since morning and evening are the peak times the priorities should be given to men in mens area and ladies should be told to use the machines in the ladies room, seeing the situation even other guys where talking to me today saying that even they miss their workout because of these ladies who block the machines by working out in the mens area,
now today i have raised this issue tomorrow some other guys will raise this issue when more and more ladies come and use the machines meant for men outside,
i even wanted to raise a complain on the receptionist roberto ( the nigerian guy ), he has too much attitude problem, last time in winter he was keeping the ac very high even when it was cold outside, when i asked him to switch of the ac he said that other members are complaining that it is hot inside the gym but when i checked with the other members they told me that he was telling them same to everyone, when i was trying to talk to him he does not bother to answer back, he does if he has not listened any thing which is very annoying, always sloppy shoulders, saying i dont know for every question asked, not polite,
from past 3 to 4 months now the skill mill is not working, 1 machine creates too much sound, another one suddenly stops in the middle after 2 minutes or so, i placed a complaint yesterday with roberto and he said so what if the sound comes every one is using it so you also use it
i hope you guys will come up with the solution for this issue of the ladies using the main machines ( tread mill, skill mill, cross trainer and the step machine ) in the main area at the peak time, and give priority to men in mens area

Gold's Gym Harassment from an employee

I have been harassed by an employee of Golds ever since I asked him to turn down the music, which I couldn't hear my own music through my Ibuds which were in my ears . Now when I enter the room he turns the music up so loud that it's unbearable. . He told me to go buy noise canceling headphones. Other members stated the music is so loud that they work out in the other rooms because it bothers them as well. Yesterday, I brought in a peice of equipment to use while doing my rotations he took over the equipment ( not the first time he did this to me) and when I took it back he started "I'm using that" I told him that "I'm actually not done using it and that I specifically brought it in for my exercise), he then tells me to "put my name on it"). This harassment needs to stop immediately. I work out in this room because I'ma disabled Veteran and don't feel comfortable in the other rooms. I've changed my workout time in order to keep the peace but he is always in that room. I was told by another employee that Gold's won't reprimand him because he bring in a lot of money. Well, I pay to workout here just like everyone else and I really like the equipment. How hard is it to keep this employee from harassing me? I am going to call the owner once I find out who he is, and yes I did complain about him before, which was useless because he more of a bully now then when I first started. I shouldn't have to worry about harassment. I'm sure he thinks because I'm a female I'll tolerate it, he is wrong.
Please fix this situation so I can enjoy my workout without worrying about this guy harassing and bullying me.

Gold's Gym Payment / customer service

I have been trying to cancel my membership for months now. I had called them reference it during covid and they said I had to come in there which I couldn't do because my son can not wear a mask due to medical conditions and he is 7. Today they took out 50.00 so I called them this morning at 9:30 and the lady I assume was working the front desk told me that I could write a letter and fax it but I had to call and speak with the lady in billing when she came in at 10:00. I wrote the letter and kept it on my desk at work and called back at 10:30 to speak with the lady in the billing department. upon speaking with her I explained the situation and stated that all I wanted was my money back and to cancel my membership by fax. She then stated that I could not do that. I had to come in between 8-5 to cancel my membership to mail a letter saying that. I told her the lady I had spoken to early told me that I could fax it and she told me that she has a hard time believing that because she wouldn't tell her people to say things like that. I said she told me the letter didn't have to be certified but it had to have my name, my birthday and a brief reason why I was canceling my membership with them. she said that she doesn't believe that then caught herself and said well I'm not saying that anyone is lying here but she wouldn't say that. I also advised her that I work for the sheriffs office and I work 8-4:30 so there is no way I could be there before 5 today and I wanted to cancel immediately so I didn't keep getting charged and she said they she couldn't give back any of my money or cancel my membership. Her attitude was very poor and rude. Anyone talking to customers should not be this unprofessional. I feel like I got absolutely no where with her. if you look up my account you can see I have not gone in some time due to this pandemic. I understand everyone needs money as far as businesses right now but praying on the customers is no the answer. Your response would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much

Gold's Gym Gym classes

I am a member of Golds gym from 2013 and we use to have classes every single day at 5.30in AMT BUR DUBAI but from past year or so they had stopped them and postponed it to 6.30 pm even after repeated emails to the gym they ignored my request finally this morning I received the classes schedule and was exited to see they had two 5.30 classes the manager of the gym was near the schedule board and I smiled a told him finally we are having classes at 5.30, he said yes and in 15 minutes they again changed the schedule to 6pm, I think this is mischief played by the manager, very saddened by this behaviour

Gold's Gym Billing

On Thursday, May 27th, I received a collection agency notification that I owed $109 for an account that I formally closed. To avoid the problems associated with affecting my credit score, I paid the amount in full but have been attempting to reach Gold's Gym to find out why they immediately went to a collection agency without contacting me first. They are unable to furnish any evidence that they attempted to contact me at any time and refuse to take customer requests.

Desired outcome: Request that Gold's Gym furnish any and all proof that they attempted to contact me for any payments that were due prior to sending it off to collections.

Gold's Gym Music

So tired of the BS music that is played in the gym. Why is it that 79% of the music is rap music. A month ago it was 80s and 90 classic music. Many people said they enjoyed the music and even would like a copy of the sound track. As of about a month ago it's turned to rap and aggressive music. Something I really do not care for. Why have you changed the sound track? I ask the front desk and was told the main office changed the music. Why? Many people as well as my self are not happy. Are you gearing the music to the young crowed? Do you want the 45 and older to go to different gym?

Gold's Gym Unethical behaviour

HI, I would like to put a complaint against one of your sales representative who was rude and sarcastic with the way he communicates
I contacted him on his whats app his name is Jeff, I inquired about the annual membership on golds gym Al AIN Branch, he helped me with that
I said I will get back to him, he sent me a laughing smiley and writes "I have heard that many times from you" and if I don't want the membership just say it
I warned him that the way he is communicating could put him in trouble he (Jeff) replies "is this big deal for you that I degrade your credibility" he ask me to grow up
And calls me sensitive and moody and also says I can go ahead and complain about him and he is not scared
Kindly look into the matter as this is not the way a sales representative should communicate with customers

Gold's Gym resumption of charges without notification

Gold's Gym stopped charging because of COVID then didn't notify me when the gym had reopened and began charging me again in January 2021. i only noticed it on my credit card statement now, May 8th.

I believe I should be refunded the amount: $280.00.

Gold's Gym Overchrging on membership

I have been working with my local manager to get my membership corrected since August 2020 and continue to get calls that I am past due even though I am owed money where Gold's continued to debit my account for months on end for memberships that have been cancelled. The manager promised I would get a refund of $300 months ago yet I have not received a refund and get weekly calls about my account. I have 50 emails back and forth with him and the new company hanlding the billing and keep being told they have to contact corporate. The manager has been very nice but here we are almost 9 months later and this is still not resolved. I haven't received my money and being charged late fees and things on my account after the manager told me to revoke the debit so golds could not keep charging me for memberships. This has gone on way too long and and no one can seem to get anyone at "corporate" to fix it.

Gold's Gym Covid: failure to require masks: super spreader location

I was at Gold's Gym in Hackettstown, NJ this past Sunday. Two weeks prior I was hospitalized with COVID for 6 days. I likely caught COVID from someone who refused to wear a mask in a public place.

I noticed that many were on treadmills, bikes, and working out with no masks on whatsoever. Having been hospitalized for 6 days, I am intensely paranoid about COVID. I asked politely approached the staff and let them know that there were at least a dozen "chin maskers" parading around, They very reluctantly began patrolling the gym. At one point an individual in a gray army t shirt came into my personal space with no mask on whatsoever, and I asked him to step back, to which he replied by telling me to "[censored] off". I went and told the staff, and they were profoundly bothered that I repeated what the thug said to me verbatim. They did nothing, so I left.

Today I got a call from the Manager of Gold Gym Hackettstown. HE called to yell at me for having complained about members not wearing masks, and FALSELY believed that I had spoken rudely to the staff. He had NO CONCERN whatsoever that members were parading around his gym not wearing masks, or chin masking. Indeed, he openly mocked me for wearing a mask and had not concerned whatsoever that I had been recently hospitalized. I told him I was going to call the Department of Health and report that he was running a superspreader center, to which he responded with a derisive laugh and then openly mocked me. Clearly he is at best a 1/2 educated Trumper working a menial job, and he is quite angry about it.

Mr. Noonan is putting Gold's Gym at risk of being sued for spreading COVID. I know of senior citizens who have resigned from the Hackettstown Gold's Gym because of the staffs' fear to address the mask issue. Indeed, it is quite possible that some have died after working out at this gym, as anti maskers could be spreading the disease with the no visible symptoms. But this is not something that would trouble Mr. Noonan and his staff, as they do not care about masks, and are not concerned about COVID transmission.

Gold's Gym Classes and timings

No one here in Al wahda mall branch listens to us members of the "ladies only" section ..
we are constantly complaining to "R" the timeline manager about the poor trainers performance and the unfair timings ..
the group class timings are all not suitable to us working ladies, i am working and all good classes finishes early, I CANT CATCH ANY STRONG CLASS!
yet the timeline manager always ignores us..

i am an old member, i can see how the gym quality is dropping by time ... all good trainers are gone, we are forced upon poor performing trainers, it seems also our complaints never reaches to management .. all classes after 6:00PM ladies classes are dance or Mixed classes !

this is such a shame, i started my journey .. i used to be a loyal member .. now i can't even recommend it to anyone

Gold's Gym Weight benches

I have had this weight bench only 10 months and the weld broke on the leg lift. I've had this type of bench for many years and this is the first bench that has failed. Not very happy with the quality. I know I purchased a cheaper bench but was not expecting this kind of safety issue. I'm so glad I wasn't on the bench when it collapsed. I would expect better quality from a name like golds gym!

Gold's Gym Service

Hi,

kindly be informed that I didn't use my 3 months membership at one of Golds gym branches in Egypt so far as the branch has been burned a few days after I paid for the membership and then the branch was replaced by another gym and I contacted the manager of all branches and explained to him my case but I got no response, accordingly I need to use my 3 months membership at any nearest golds gym branch or a refund!

Not sure what her name is but big blond lady she's vindictive an has other worker there backing her on it workers an manager treating customers poorly I have had problems since day one going there an I cant get out of my contract till march of next year my first week I brought a friend to get a membership the manager big blond lady was so rude my friend went to planet fitness the manager is teaching other workers to be vindictive like her awful place to go not healthy

Gold's Gym Membership fee

I am filing a complaint due to an auto debit I wasn't advised about. In March 2020 I was in contact with covid. So during my quarantine time my membership was coming to an end and I wanted to completely cancel as my job was offering a better promotion that was less money. Well since the manager informed me that I couldn't cancel over the phone she suggested to freeze my account and send an email that I wanted to freeze my account for 90 days. During our conversation never did she state I need to cancel 30 days prior to my 90 days I went 5 days prior to my freeze to be released only to be informed I will still be charged $45. There was no accountability and seeing my membership had been over and I hadn't even gone since February the right thing to do is waive the fee. Of course she went about how she has worked at golds for a decade and she makes sure she conveys message no where in the email was it stated or on the phone. I cancelled due to pandemic and high risk I am going through a hardship and again Lily Aguirre nor the manager at culebra and 1604 acknowledged the fact that I just wanted to avoid that fee because I don't have money as well. My job offers GOLDs gym discounts but I will ensure to tell all my friends, family, colleagues how bad this service was. The disclosures doesn't state anything about a pandemic cancellation or freeze to stop payment 30 days prior or nor was I sent this information. I am going to be out of budget for a membership I haven't used I fulfilled my terms and conditions and paid when I didn't go prior but what is out of my control was going 5 days prior I am high risk with Lupus I didn't want to even step in there due to risks but I did to ensure I followed Through with my obligations. I want someone superior than Lily Aguirre to either contact me or waive my fee I am begging you I don't have money right now and 45.00 or 40.00 is gas money or a meal.
