Foust Heating & Air

My A/C was blowing hot air, so I called Foust Heating & Air. A tech came out on June 23, 2022 (Invoice # ***-0888) and found that the Evaporator had failed and leaked out Refrigerant. I asked Foust for an Estimate, but they kept giving me excuses that they were shorthanded on employees. Even after I did the legwork and got part #'s for the Estimator, I still didn't receive an Estimate. Today, on July 25, 2022, they still won't give me an Estimate. Foust has a high employee turnover rate, and the Tech that came out has already quit. I used Foust for an HVAC inspection when I bought this home, but they wouldn't give me an inspection checklist. The inspection wasn't very thorough because the Evaporator tubes potentially already had pinhole leaks, and there was no indication of the access cover being removed to do a correct inspection. I hope the owner is aware of these issues and corrects them. Sorry, I can't upload the June 23rd invoice.

Foust took our deposit for a job to swap out our furnace and A/C unit 6 weeks ago. Valerie in the front office said that our deposit "put us on the calendar" and that they were 6 weeks out on installations. We said okay. After 4-5 weeks, we called Matt, the business owner, and went to the office with questions about the installation and the installation date. We only got one response to our many phone calls (which just said they'd follow up the next week but never did) and nobody would confirm or give us a date for our installation. I started going to the office every other day to try to get an answer on our installation. Today, the office staff said that we're not on the installation schedule and that June and July are full, so the earliest they can do the installation is August. I still don't know if we're on the schedule.

So, we had a pretty bad experience with Foust Heating & Air. They came to our house to fix our heater and ducting, and we paid them cash for a new ignition control board and some duct work. But right away, we noticed some issues. The fan came on while the tech was outside, and we smelled gas coming through the vents. The tech said it was just burning off excess fuel, but we were still worried. Later, we found out that the fan was still running even when we turned off the thermostat, and our heating unit ended up catching on fire. We contacted Foust Heating & Air, and they offered us a new heating unit with a discount, but they wouldn't refund us the money we already paid. When we tried to talk to them about it, they were really rude and unhelpful. Overall, we wouldn't recommend Foust Heating & Air to anyone.
