Carolina Comfort Air I got my house two years ago and they put in a new system because it was a new house

I got my house two years ago and they put in a new system because it was a new house. I had three problems with the AC, one even before the one year warranty. The work is terrible and every time I pay $200 or more, it makes me feel sick. Don't pick this company.

Carolina Comfort Air This place is a joke

This place is a joke. They been to my house 3 times to "fix" my AC unit and each time they found something else wrong and charged me more. Now my house is 90 degrees and I got 4 little ones sweating like crazy. They came out a 4th time and still didn't fix it. I'm so mad I could spit nails. I'm gonna call the ComplaintsBoard.com and get my money back so I can get someone else to fix it. These guys don't care about nobody but themselves and their wallets. I called them like 8 times today and I think they're ducking me now.

Carolina Comfort Air I called them to come fix my AC

I called them to come fix my AC. I told them it was probably a capacitor. They told me it would be $120 to check it out. The guy came and replaced the capacitor in 10 minutes. He said the replacement wouldn't last long and for $100 more he would install a deluxe capacitor. I said no. He said he had to see the air handler in the attic. I was charged $410 for the job. That's too much! I'm retired and live on a fixed income. Why install a bad part? Why do all that after it was fixed? I heard they were good, but I thought the bill would be $175 for the part and the 10-minute job. It got fixed, but I felt robbed!

Carolina Comfort Air Got a new house with a new system from Carolina Comfort Air, Inc

Got a new house with a new system from Carolina Comfort Air, Inc. It was under warranty but they never fixed the problem. They said the parts were under warranty but labor would cost $212. The day before they were supposed to come, they called and said the charges would be over $500. I had already paid for the first service call, but decided to wait due to COVID work limits. Not even a year later, they said the parts had gone up in cost and now the new charges would be over $900 for a problem that shouldn't have happened. This is a 2 zoned system, but one zone was 67 degrees downstairs and 85 degrees upstairs. They literally unplugged one thermostat and closed one of the dampers. I had to shut down the circuits for the air conditioner and run circuits for the heat system so my air conditioner would work. They are nothing but all-time crooks. How much do they charge for labor? $800 per hour?

Carolina Comfort Air The guy who sold me the stuff didn't seem to know what he was doing and kept giving me different prices

The guy who sold me the stuff didn't seem to know what he was doing and kept giving me different prices. We were without AC or heat for a long time, from March to May. There were some problems with the inspections and they missed some appointments. They didn't explain the financing terms very well and said they could do a soft inquiry but it was actually a hard inquiry. The financing is through a credit card that can only be used at certain places, all of which are for maintenance and HVAC stuff. So now I have a credit card that's useless and will hurt my credit score when I close it. They do business with a company I don't like and I can't believe they're still ComplaintsBoard.com accredited. If they were the only ones selling this stuff, I'd buy it from someone else. I really don't recommend doing business with them.

Carolina Comfort Air Our experience with Carolina Comfort Air, Inc

Our experience with Carolina Comfort Air, Inc. was good at first, but it didn't last long. The next summer, we had a big problem with our hardwood floors. The system made the crawl space too cold, so there was a lot of condensation on the duct tubes and insulation. The subfloor and joists got wet and started to rot. Carolina Comfort Air sent someone to check it out, and they said we should have had a dehumidifier installed when they put in the HVAC system. They said they had never seen such bad floor buckling before. We talked to the company, but they didn't do anything about it. We did a job for them in exchange for the new system, so we know some people who work there. They said the company knows we can't afford to sue them, so they're just ignoring us.

Carolina Comfort Air We bought our house as a new build in April

We bought our house as a new build in April . In June , my husband called CCA to check if we were still under warranty. They said we weren't, but the parts were under warranty with Tran. When my husband asked if they serviced Wedgefield ll, they said they no longer did. It's weird that they installed HVAC systems in the new Wedgefield lll development if they don't service the area anymore. Later, another company came to look at our equipment, and a CCA vehicle drove past our house. The second company said that CCA messed up everything. When the company that our home warranty sent out came, the owner himself had to come out because there was so much wrong with our system. The duct work was too long, the bypass damper wasn't working, and distribution boxes had to be swapped out. All of this caused the rooms upstairs in the front of our house to not heat correctly. We shouldn't have to deal with this after only having the home for almost 3 years. If you're potentially buying a house with this company having done the work, have someone really check it out. We had to pay almost $4K to have their lazy, corner-cut work corrected. A company shouldn't be allowed to provide such work in an area they don't service unless they have another company contracted out to fulfill services.

Carolina Comfort Air In Feb 2020, I found out my blower motor was busted and I wasn't getting any AC or heat

In Feb 2020, I found out my blower motor was busted and I wasn't getting any AC or heat. I called Carolina Comfort Air and they came to check it out. They confirmed the issue and charged me for the diagnosis before scheduling another technician to come and talk about options.

A few days later, another technician came and said I could either spend $1600 on repairs for my 10-year-old system or $8100 on a new one. I went with the new system.

A week later, they installed the new system and I thought everything was good. But a few weeks later, in March, I turned on the AC and it was blowing warm air. A technician came out and said there was a leak in a pressure line behind my garage wall. They said it would cost around $750 to fix and that it wasn't part of the original quote.

I paid for the service, but I called to ask for a refund because I didn't break the line. A supervisor named *** called me back and accused me of breaking the line. He said he could come and inspect it himself and assured me that the technicians did pressure tests before leaving.

When he came, he approved a refund of $375, but I only received $300. I called to complain and he offered to send another check for $50, but I asked for a full refund of the remaining $450. He agreed, but it took another month and a half of calling to get the check.

When I told him I needed the check before I moved out of state, he told me I could meet him an hour away to get it. The technicians were friendly, but the management was unprofessional. They even smoked outside my kitchen without asking.

Carolina Comfort Air I hit up Carolina Comfort Air on 7/27/2022 'cause our new crib was hot as heck on the first floor

I hit up Carolina Comfort Air on 7/27/2022 'cause our new crib was hot as heck on the first floor. They said they'd call back in a jiffy, but it took Tara a whole 45 minutes to hit me up. She was mad rude when she finally called and asked what was up. She said they'd send a tech out on 7/27/22 between 3-5pm and call 30 mins before. I told her that wasn't gonna work 'cause my kid's got asthma and the humidity was making it worse. She didn't care and said a manager would call me the next day. I'm not feeling this company 'cause they don't care about their customers, especially ones with health issues. I wouldn't trust them to cover my warranty for the next 7 months.

Carolina Comfort Air I got charged for a diagnostic fee for the services they provided

I got charged for a diagnostic fee for the services they provided. The techs adjusted the units for like 2-3 hours and then did some diagnostic tests. When the tech arrived, I told him that I ain't paying no diagnostic fee, and he was like "ok" and started doing his thing. But then they sent me a bill for $206 for diagnostics, even though they did services that were covered under the warranty. The airflow in my house has been a problem since February , and they still haven't fixed it. Some rooms get air, and some don't. I've had to call them multiple times for HVAC issues, both for heat and AC. They came out for the fourth time on December 8th, and adjusted the airflow on both HVAC units, and then did some diagnostic tests. The tech wrote on the bill that the airflow throughout the house is "fine," but he didn't mention that they had to go into the attic and crawl space where the units are located and spent hours making adjustments to both units before checking the airflow. This is an ongoing issue that they still haven't resolved, and I shouldn't have to pay for their poor workmanship and ongoing issues with both HVAC units.

Carolina Comfort Air I'm being charged for a warranty repair, but my unit still won't cool below 74 degrees

I'm being charged for a warranty repair, but my unit still won't cool below 74 degrees. Carolina Comfort Air, Inc. (CCA) isn't honoring my maintenance contract due to a dispute over the warranty repair. I have a voicemail from a CCA service manager saying that the repair is covered under warranty, but now they're refusing to honor it. I was there when the technicians replaced the coil, and they were polite and professional, but they needed help lifting the coil into place. After the repair, the technician didn't hook up the drain properly, and the unit failed a few weeks later. Another technician came and fixed the error. Now, the upstairs unit isn't cooling properly, and CCA contracted a collection company to deal with the dispute. I've tried to contact CCA, but they haven't returned my calls. I have an active maintenance agreement for both of my HVAC units, but when I try to schedule maintenance, I'm either put on hold or hung up on. I've been honest with CCA about my services, but they're not providing the services I paid for in advance.
