They fixed my AC, but now, less than 2 years later, it doesn't work
They fixed my AC, but now, less than 2 years later, it doesn't work. These guys serviced my AC in July . They charged me $887, and the technician, *** said, and I quote, "Good as new, you shouldn't have any problems for the next 10 years!" Less than 2 years later, my AC doesn't work! Obviously, I'm upset and demand a call. No call for 2 days. Finally, the owner calls me and says, "If you want to go to war, let's do it!" and "Your warranty expired last year!" He told me to call my attorney, and it will cost you more just to pay for him than to get your AC repaired! What a complete lack of professionalism and a complete rip-off. I would never recommend this place to anyone. These guys will take advantage of you. Call someone else! Stay away.
This company installed new ducts and insulations for us on Dec 23 and 24, 2020
This company installed new ducts and insulations for us on Dec 23 and 24, 2020. The job went smoothly. However, we wanted to install AC in our house, so the AC company sent someone to do a HERS test on 5/25 and discovered that the ducts were leaking by 33%. I emailed Insulation and HVAC on 5/26 and 5/28 and made a few calls to inform them of the situation. Each time, they assured me that an engineer or the owner would contact me soon, but we never heard from anyone. The new ducts come with a 10-year warranty, and considering the short time since installation, it's likely that the leaking is a result of the company's improper installation. They were responsive before and during the job, so their lack of response now seems like an attempt to avoid taking responsibility for the problem.
The contractor's services and product weren't in line with the approved estimate we signed
The contractor's services and product weren't in line with the approved estimate we signed. On 6/16, Moti, the HVAC Guru's representative, gave us an estimate for replacing our old furnace and installing a new A/C unit. We asked for a quote for a slim fit condenser unit. He mentioned upgrading insulation and installing an attic fan to circulate air and keep the house cooler. Testing all the vents and installing an Open Return Air were also recommended. The estimate for all these recommendations was ***. We agreed to start the work on 7/08. On 6/23, someone from their office called and asked for a *** deposit, which we paid. On 7/08, the business owner, ***, called and said they couldn't do the job for the estimate cost. I insisted they fulfill the work as agreed. He sent his team, and *** explained the furnace and condenser they would install. I pointed out that the condenser unit was not what we agreed on. *** said they would increase the estimate to *** to cover HERS test and inspection. I argued that the *** covered that, and installing a different unit should lower the cost. On 7/09, the crew finished the AC install but didn't add the *** open return air as stated in the estimate. We issued a *** check after the second day. On 7/10, the insulation crew arrived but only added blow-in insulation on top of the existing one, contrary to what Moti explained. *** from their office said they couldn't replace the old insulation as it would cost an additional ***. Despite our objections, they left. We want them to fulfill the estimate without extra charges. We canceled the insulation and attic fan installation since we weren't willing to pay more. We received the invoice, and the model # on the receipt changed. The line for HERS test and inspection now says ***, and the total shows ***. We paid ***, leaving a balance of ***. We insisted on paying the *** only after passing *** and not paying more for the insulation work that wasn't done.
