First National Bank Texas Unauthorized card charges

I haven’t been banking with you guys for a long time so I wasn’t expecting to have so many issues in such a short amount of time…I had never had this many issues with a bank until I got with you guys. Yall bait people in to come bank with yall and then when unauthorized charges happen and yall throw that $34 fee on there even though it was an unauthorized charge yall say yall can’t dispute the fee. Yall should put that in yall little speech when yall talk people into banking with yall. That yall only help to a certain extent. If a charge was unauthorized then why the hell can’t yall dispute the fee just like yall dispute the charge that was charged. That’s not fair at all! And I truly from the bottom of my heart regret banking with yall and wouldn’t advise an animal to bank with yall. That’s not right at all!

Desired outcome: I want those UNAUTHORIZED fee charges dropped just like the UNAUTHORIZED charges that was charged to my card.

First National Bank Texas Loss prevention / deposit services

I am disabled and I depend on getting my benefit money to help take care of the medical, medicine, co-pay fees for office visits, copay for Surgery Services, food, shelter. For six months my benefits were denied Jan - June - because of a missing medical report Denied in January - Reinstated in March backdated to 1-1-21 - so when that happened all the monthly checks that I should have gotten needed to be paid. So they sent me a check to cover the last 6 months of missed benefits. I suffered through the last 6 months having over half of my support money taken it's been very hard to make it - when I got the call it was fix and to be looking for this payment I was excited because I have to catch up on lots of missed payments. I discuss for a good time with the branch teller the nature of this payment. There is absolutely no reason that this check should have caused this much attention. This is the total of 6 of the checks I deposited or cashed last year. This company is very well known - plus there was a number provided for my case manager who would have been able to provide any level of information required as she was the person who created and had this payment authorized. Her name is Silvia Duncan - she has been my case manager for over 6 years. This shouldn't have triggered this kind of attention to the point of denying access to funds that constitute work funds, its not play money or special project its the funds I depend on to help me get things done during the day or to eat and since I am homeless lots of time I need money to have a room a place to sleep and have shelter. The other major concern that makes this action questionable from an ethics standpoint - when the account was open there was a statement that clearly says this type of account doesn't allow the assignment of benefits to anyone whatever is in the account in the event of an accidental death or death by natural causes, any money in the account at that time would be the property of the bank. I find this action to raise serious concerns about the business practices - did this account only get picked up because of the amount of the deposit, my disability status because for the life of me I am trying to see how loss prevention has a legitimate role in this situation. I need my money released and any charges applied to my account for nsf they will pay all those and remove any indication from my record.

Desired outcome: Is to have the extra hold applied to my payroll check be released immediately and a new policy be drafted to eliminate this type of mistake ever happening again. Its a waste of time, resources, money.

First National Bank Texas Customer harassment

On August 13, 2020, My son received a letter in the mail welcoming him for being a new customer at First National Bank. The next day, my son and I went to the bank at 6055 South Freeway, Houston, TX 77004; to inform them that he never had opened up an account. So the bank ended up closing the account and labeled it as "stolen identity". They instructed us to file a police report and to return back to the bank after doing so. So, we filed a police report and two weeks later, my son received two more debit cards in the mail under his name, welcoming him as a new customer to the SAME bank! Apparently the guy who had stolen my son's identity, had opended two more accounts under his name. So, again we go in person to the bank and find out that he's tried cashing a few checks and that he had eventually been given some money from the bank. My son filled out all the paperwork that was required from the bank, and they reassured us that all the information would be forwarded to the Fraud Dept. He was also told that he would not be forwarded to a debt collector, since it was indentity theft. A couple of weeks later, he received in the mail a letter from a debt collector that was hired from First National Bank to pay the money that someone else had stolen. My son and I went back to the same bank and spoke to the Manager, Carolyn Gardner Neblett. We were told that all the information had not been completed on their end and that they would forward all the information to the Fraud Claims Dept. She told us that there was no phone number for us to call and that she would followup on it on Wednesday, August 19th. As she was speaking to my son, I was writing down all the information she was telling him and I looked up at her badge to write her name down so we wouldn't forget who we had spoken to, and while I was writing her name down, she looked at me and told me in a rude and sarcastic tone, "Don't worry, you will be getting my business card with my name on it". She seemed upset that I was writing her name down. As she continued to talk to my son, my son had looked at me, to let me know what she had said, since it was a little difficult to hear across the acrylic barrier between us, and she looked at my 27 year old son and told him, "I'm talking to you not to her." He felt so embarrassed because she was treating him like he was a child. I then looked at her and told her that my son didn't have a pen to write all this information she was giving him, that's why I was writing it down. I became very upset and started to feel like we were being harassed by this lady! I could tell my son started to get upset and was caught off guard by the way this lady was treating him. It took a lot of self-control not to go off on this lady. I looked up at the bank's motto "Our Customers Come First", pointed to my son and said, "What a joke."
Needless to say, this lady's attitude, ruined the rest of our day. We couldn't believe how we were being treated. As the day went on, my son told me that the more he thought about it, the more it made him mad. I have always taught my son always to be civilized even when people can make you angry. I am writing this complaint hoping to get a written apology to my son from this woman. I pray that no other customer will ever have to go through this type of harrassment.

First National Bank Texas customer service / fraud prevention

Over the 12 years I have been a customer with 1st Convenience Bank. I loved this bank in the beginning, but I have seen the quality of this bank slowly decline. Branches closing, personnel rotating out, denial of loans even with a "stellar" credit score, and holding deposit checks for two weeks.

I even talked my son into getting an account. I regret that now.

The breaking point came this weekend, with an agent calling and saying there was a problem with my sons account. I explained he was working and could I help, as I do his banking for him, but she could tell me nothing because of privacy concerns. Fair enough - but I get off the phone and now my account is frozen.

I call back for an explanation and again, I can get no information ... about my own account! She provided absolutely no help and even accused me of bank fraud at one point! The best I can figure is that I transferred $300 to my son's account, and when he repaid me by transferring $300 back, that triggered some flag that this clueless agent couldn't comprehend. Let's see ... $300 out, $300 in ... criminal profit of $ 0. Yeah ... I'm a criminal mastermind!

A visit to the physical branch fixed the accounts, but they had no idea why I was being treated this way either. How can you protect me from real fraud if your idea of protection is attacking your own customers?

I'm done...closing the accounts. You can't fix stupid.

First National Bank Texas services

First National Bank
On July 10, 2018 My family I received a letter from a United States service.I opened the letter and it said they were sorry to hear of the death of the family member. Other
businesses received the same. I lost money I was entitled to, friends, and just plain folks, looking, acting like I was a crazy old person loosing my memory. I got it straight
but am still a lot of laughter, everywhere I go, I am greeted as, " the crazy old woman who came back from the dead. "

My bank has been through hell and back for me. Do not criticize them. They did everything they could to help me.
Social Security went through the ceiling. I lost access to all my $959.00 a month checks, even after I went to Social Security and gave them everything they needed. It still came back on me from every direction, and the bank continued on to support me, letters, phone calls., mostly my visits to them. It has gone on and on even with our own. It is my understanding that Social Security was notified on July 10, 2018 My family wasn't notified that I was dead until
early August. Some, very few of PCH supported me because of my high tokens, not keeping in mind the high number of hours that I worked 7 days a week, for months, or all the people I contacted that was only their recorded messages.

First National Bank Texas Kept my money after the promised to return it.

I have been with this bank for about 6 years. Have had loans/ all paid back in perfect time. Made cash deposits bi monthly, occasionally deposited my payroll check. I wanted to start using mobile banking. I went to the branch manager, he said it would be best to deposit check so current record of check on file would insure no problems with mobile device. So I did.
Next day my funds were available and I started paying bills. Later that day I got an email that was of the rudest Ive ever seen. It said we have put a hold on this check because we feel because of multiple overdrafts on your account it will not be paid. we will release the hold on the 17th of January.
I made that deposit on the 5th. The letter clearly said if this is a bank error all fees and returned charges will be refunded. I called the bank that the check was written on. It cleared on the 9th. They still kept it till the 14th
charged me 4 nsfs, bounced my mortgage for another fee. Totaling $178.50
They refused to stand behind the letter, after some contest the gave me $34.00 back. Just to be clear the money was in my account, then they took it out two days later. held it for 12 days. even thou the bank paid it in two.
also there were two overdrafts on my account back in august, one was $12.00 the other $80. these were my multiple overdrafts.

First National Bank Texas Many Hidden fees on the Free Checking Account

This is the worst bank. It is advertising free checking and it is in Walmart and Kroger. I recently moved to a very large suburb and didn't think I'd have any problems banking. First, I went to deposit a check and there was no bank branch in the neighborhood Walmart or Kroger that I went to. There wasn't even an ATM to deposit the money. I finally ended up driving to a large Walmart only to find another bank in it. I did a search on the internet last Saturday to get my deposits made as I received an overdraft notice. I went to the location but the Walmart employees had closed the store due to electrical/computer problems. I drove all the way back over there today only to be told by the teller that I have a $34 NSF even though I have overdraft protection and was charged $2.95 every day that I have been trying to make my deposit. I then called customer service and explained I to them but they refused to reduce their charges. I said to close the account and they said 'No, it will stay open for 60 days and continue charging you" This bank had no interest in stopping the bleeding and just want to run up fees on an account holder!

You are in the minority with your glowing review. This bank rips people off little by little. Every month I notice a few dollars is missing. They are doing this to everyone, and it adds up to a great deal of money.
Look at the scam reportS on this bank. Quite a few have been filed.
What about the ones that were not filed and the person just shrugged their shoulders and put up with it?
My first stimulus check, that I didn't even know I was eligible for, was stolen by this bank. I would have never known if the IRS hadn't sent a letter about the second and third stimulus checks.
The evidence shows that the bank grabbed $1200 unlawfully. I have zero debt, zero NSF, and even I did, what law gives them the right to attach Treasury checks?

First National Bank Texas Overdraft fees

multiple over draft charges... when something is in pending transactions and you don't have enough in your account the overdraft applies to each transaction in your pending even if you have enough to cover the ones in pending that were there before you actually overdrafted...so you get charged for each individual transaction on overdraft even if it is $1.00...and then when they post your transactions to your account you get charged again for the same ones you were already charged for in pending...so you get double charged... and when you call customer service they will tell you that this is legitamit...

I. worked in banking for 15 years and saw so much that was unfair to customers it made me sick! To make matters worse, as an employee I had to participate in a lot of those awful actions or let's just be real (ligit stealing). I guit banking, left behind seniority and salary to teach school. Now I fell good when I go to work each day! I would rather have a class of 50 juveniles than feel the way I felt in banking. As customers we need to start a class action lawsuit against these practices.😈

First National Bank Texas overdraft charges

My account got charged twice for the same bill, I was paying online. I went to my bank and they said it was the companies fault. One charge was in pending then it was taking out of my account the next morning, but I got charged overdraft charges of 34.00, and then they charged my account another overdraft charge of 105.00. I went to the bank to dispute the charges and they said they could not do anything about it. I had to get in touch with the company that charged my account twice. But according to the company only 1 pymt was taken out of my account so I went back to the bank and by this time I had more account overdraft fees added to my account. In amounts of 2.49 X's 9 days. No one would reimburse me for these charges and the bank said that they could not do anything about it. I will be closing my account and going back to BOA at least they listen to the customer and get to the bottom of a problem with the account. If they won't fix this I hate to see if someone had ID Theft

First National Bank Texas Customer service and fee's

Or should I say First Inconvenience Bank and Safetyget.com?

I entered my credit card # in some age verification site that said it would charge nothing ($0.00) to my acct. Then I'm redirected to a page that tells me I've been subscribed to free 3 day membership to some amateur site I didn't even sign up for and I have 3 days to cancel or I'll be charged $34.95. So of course I went and canceled right away, Safetyget.com site shows that it was within 10 min of entering mycredit card at the age verification site. the The next day I go to my bank and they tell me I'm overdrawn because of a hold this company put on my acct. for $35.00 and charge me an overdraft fee due to it. So I file a complaint with the bank (First Convenience Bank), which they did nothing about and told me I would have to get a letter from the company stating the transaction was made in error and asking them to reimburse any charges and fees to my account due to this transaction. So I call safetyget and let them know about it and thatthe bank said there would be no penalty or charges to the company if they sent in the letter. They tell me they don't do that and won't, so I ask for the address of their legal department. The lady tells me they don't have one. I ask where my attorney should send a letter and she tells me goodbye and hung up on me. So much for customer service.

Now to the Bank issue, when I originally filed the complaint with the bank the branch managers assistant told me if it was never charged to my account they would of course reimburse any fees that resulted from this hold. Four days later and speaking to the branch manager now, I get a completely different story. Now they tell me they won't without the letter mentioned above. I have previously posted a complaint here about this bank and it's practices. Seems that every two or three weeks I'm in this bank arguing with them over some way they've found to charge me a fee on this free checking acct. Well I'm fed up!

If you've ever had a legitimate billing issue with either of these companies and it hasn't been worked out or you simply gave up due to the excessive hassle. Please contact me at [protected]@gmail.com with a brief explanation of what happened and your contact information and I will provide it to my lawyer who is currently putting together a class action lawsuit against both Safetyget.com andFirst Convenience Bank.

A very pissed consumer,

Shane Pedersen

I also had a horrible experience with this bank. For starters they had my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER wrong on file the entire four months that I did bank with them..They also had my birthdate wrong, stating that I was born in 2008.. Because my social was not correct, I could not access online banking, or any sort of customer service over the phone. I tried multiple times to establish my online account but every time I would go to a branch they would be having "technical difficulties". I also had a branch MANAGER write down my checking account number as my savings, and my savings account number as my checking.. This resulted in about $400 in over draft charges. By the end of my time there, I still did not have online access to my accounts, but they did finally correct my social security number on file.. three months after I left the bank. Horrible bank, stay away.

The thing that gets me about this bank is the fact that they overdraft your account for transactions that are pending, which haven't been paid yet. Other banks will not overdraft you until the pending charges are actually paid. Everyone makes mistakes, but getting charged almost $70.00 overdraft charge for a transaction that would have put the account $5 in the negative? Loan sharks don't even charge that. But this is legal? I have never disputed an overdraft charge, but if you notice, they will charge you the $70.00 when the charges are pending, and then another $70.00 when the charge pending actually gets paid for a total of $140.00 in overdraft charges for a $5.00 negative balance. I am closing my account with this bank. I will never again recommend this bank to anyone, and hope the people that I have recommended this bank to will forgive me.

this bank is awful. you think the 1$ charge to open a account is a good idea but yhat dollar has cost me dearly. every time my check was direct deposited in the bank there was always some kind of fees being taken out of my money. even when i would leave some money in the bank after paying bills to keep the account open i would always be told my account is in the negative. when i went to the manager about charges on my account that i did not approve he (chris) had a rude attitude and told me his employees did not make mistakes. i filed a complaint and they end up putting $900 back in my account. i have had nothing but trouble with the tyler branch in walmart. the account is now closed!

The bank does not keep track of what you approve and what is fraud. If a website says it's FREE and they still ask you for a card number, why would you take the risk of giving them the number and think they are not going to charge you anything? It's stupid to think they're not. There are reallt intelligent hackers all around the globe, so if you decide to buy anything online that is not a safe webpage, you run the risk of getting your information stolen by a hacker. The bank does not refund fees to dummies who give their account information to any webpage that asks for it. If you file a claim and the merchant can verify that you gave them all your correct information, obviously the bank is going to deny it because you approved it.

Battling with this horrible bank right now. Two days ago, there is a "pending transaction" for over $600 to a regional mid-east airline that has no offices in the U.S. nor do they even fly to or from the U.S. I call them since it's 8:30pm. "There is nothing we can do until the transaction posts" is the reply. "Then you can file a fraud claim."
The following morning, there are NINE more "pending transactions - another airline, 2 in Paris, one to SKYPE, one to Feed The Children and others. Another call and same response. Today, all the "pending transactions" are gone but my actual balance is now about $120 lighter. Over-draft fees and "Point Of Sale Denial" fees.. "You need a letter from XXXX Air stating that is was not you that made the charge. So I am supposed to try to contact an airline in a middle eastern country, find someone that not only speaks English, but is willing to help and fax something here. Yeah, good luck with that... I must be pretty good to be at points of sale in two middle east countries and Paris within minutes of each other... However this ultimately works out, I will be closing the account and will never use nor recommend this bank. And to chris1979 who said: "Although overdrawn accounts is more than likely why you are with First Convenience Bank anyway." Even if that were the case, it's irrelevant. Basic banking security and practices dictate that unless the account holder signed an "International Transaction Authorization, " the first charge should have been halted immediately and contact me...

Sounds like you all need to steer clear of SCAM site. Anything that says FREE or TRIAL and ask for a credit card number. Get ready for this battle. You should be mad a the company that charged your card, not the bank. Bottom line stay off of iffy SCAM sites, and quit being so free and quick to give your credit card number.

If you simply must use those types of sites, goto Wal-Mart, HEB, or some Check Cashing place and get a pre-paid card. Put $1.00 on it and verify till u can't no more.

Thats why people should have more than one account, like the account my direct deposit comes into is not the account I spend money out of, it's not even wiith the same bank. You know how most companies have a payroll account that they pay people out of and money is only in that account around payday. Opening a free no minium balance required account is very easy. Although overdrawn accounts is more than likely why you are with First Convenience Bank anyway.

I too had the same intense with First Convenience bank. I had signed up for some information through google and it promised to only charge 2.97. But a month later I was charged 74.00. I put in a complaint to the bank and they denied it because they said I already had a charge on the account for that amount. I was not disagreeing with 2.97. I was only disputing the 74.00 amount. And I couldn't understand what one charge had to do with the other. I was very upset. smu_smu_smu@yahoo.com

First National Bank Texas Overcharged

When i noticed my bank cards missing, I contacted my local office and asked them to discontinue my cards. They said they could not because my wife was added to my account, but she was out of town i explained to them and that she could not come in. A few days later when she was back we checked with them and now my account was 500 $ in the hole. I asked them to cancel the cards again and they did, but when i came in a few days later to pay the negative balance is was the almost 1300 $ in the hole. I asked how this could be and they mentioned all these different fees.

I have made several 250 $ payments on this account to find outt i stilkl owe 800$, then to make it worse they took the money out of my savings account, and have been charging me fees on it because it then was under a hundred dollars and now it is in the negatives.

Bottom line is that i do not recommend this bank because of its lack of customer care and hidden fees. And i have been trying to get them to work with me in taking care of this matter, but the more i pay the further in the hole i get.

Thank you for reading this and hopefully it doesn't happen to you!
